Melrose Place (1992) - General Discussion
luckyroll3 replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Melrose Place (1992)
Uh, why is season one 32-fracken episodes?!?!?! I thought I was half-way through this crapfest and closer to the good stuff. I'm on episode 14 now and it's still so boring. They finally got rid of the blonde who couldn't keep her accents straight though. -
Man, I had the same damn question, but was too lazy to google it. Thank you!! This is my next question. Someone please explain! Also, Tracy: No one forced you to be crackhead. And you should be thankful that Kingsley, as annoying as he is, wasn't a crack baby. And of course she treats her nurses like crap!

That was totally a shitty thing to say, even if it is true. But it felt like she wanted to throw that in Gregg's face to remind him of who is in charge. When she did say it, though, baring those horse teeth and blinking her eyes like she was in middle of a seizure, the look on Andy's face was gold. He was looking at her like she had lost her damn mind. Someone upthread asked if Nene even wanted to be on this season, given how she was acting. Of course she did. She thought that Gregg's illness, with her at the center being the poor wife who has to deal with it all, would place her at the center of all the storylines. She learned some verbiage about "support" so that she could throw it around and make the other ladies feel bad for her. And she expected them to rally around her and give her their attention. Which they did. But because she's a damn narcissist, she didn't expect that they would also give their attention and support to the person who was actually sick. And she also overplayed her behavior, because after all these years of her acting stank towards people, the ladies have recognized that the best way to deal with her is to check in that she's okay, and when she says "I'm fine/I'm not angry" even when she's clearly not/is, is to let it go and move on. That was a game changer because they would go back to having fun while she was left alone to mope. And that made her look worse and it made her look petulant. This was all a long time coming because she's been treating people like shit for years and she thought that because she had an "excuse" for it, no one would challenge her.

That drink sounds gross to me, but I would gladly buy a couple cases to piss off Nene!

Melrose Place (1992) - General Discussion

Man, I don't remember the first season of this being so damn boring. Then again, I was only in 6th grade when it premiered, so it must of all seemed exciting cause I didn't know any better. What episode does it actually start to act like a soap? -
This is one of the funniest things I have ever seen!

Coming in late as I was traveling over the weekend. The best part of the reunion: Andy shows a clip package to demonstrate Eva's shade. None of the shade is directed towards Nene. As soon as the clip ends, Nene interrupts Eva to say she wants to ask about the least shady comment Eva has made, "Nene needs to realize that not everything is about her", and asks Eva what she meant by that. Oh the irony! This made me laugh so hard. The attention was not on Nene and she was nowhere in the clip package, but as soon as possible, she tries to bring the attention back to herself with a comment that indicated how selfish she was being with regards to her sick husband. THIS is what happens when people have no damn self-awareness. And ooh was Nene pissed when the other ladies were having so much fun laughing with each other.

I came on mostly to say the Jane continues to be insufferable, but y'all got that covered. I also was really annoyed with the new guy guilting Kat into sharing her personal issues publically. I don't care what her title/job is, she has no obligation to share her personal life unless she chooses to.

S11.E20 Caught in the Middle

I thought it was Shamari who said this. Then again, I was only half paying attention. -
Glad someone else said it. I didn't like Olivia at all last season, and was not at all sad that she was the one who died (other than being sad in general that shootings like that happen all the time, and innocent kids are always caught in the crossfire). I did chuckle when the show finally acknowledged how awful the actress' Spanish was when Ruby's gift to Olivia was a Spanish-English dictionary. I loved this season just as much as I did the first one. It's the right amounts of funny and seriousness. And the kids and adults are all great. Also, Oscar/Spooky is sexy as hell! #shallow

S11.E20 Caught in the Middle
luckyroll3 replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta
I've known for years that Nene was full of shit. And she's been acting like an ass all season long. Showing up to Cynthia's event with her bitch-face on and ready? Making fun of Kenya's size and body when she's 8-9 months pregnant, and then acting all in her feelings that Kenya didn't say goodbye to her? Keeping Greg from going up on stage and getting some attention of his own? Bitchy, petty, and selfish. But the icing on the cake, was after railing into Cynthia about all the things Cynthia has done wrong and all that Cynthia has done to slight her, the absolute WORST was Cynthia allowing Kenya to speak at the event INSTEAD of Nene. And Cynthia has the nerve to call Nene her sister but not give Nene the spotlight. I was like: She's using Greg's illness as a crutch to get away with amping up her awful-ass behavior. Because everybody needs to recognize what she's going through and support her. -
Kyle: Eh, this is Cara's weird way of flirting with me. Me: No lies detected. Georgia has some serious issues if after all of that she chose to go back to Bear. Girl needs to learn to like herself.

S09.E18: Reunion Part 3
luckyroll3 replied to KungFuBunny's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
I didn't mind Amber, but hated her damn husband. And if they are still a package deal, then she needs to stay far far away. -
Shamari needs to take it easy when she goes out. But I think what's really funny is that she clearly had in her drunk brain, "production wanted me to talk about this (Nene's marriage issues), so I gotta do it; I can't forget!" Which led to that hilarious moment near the end when the other ladies had wrapped up their closet-gate session, only to get bulldozed by Shamari and her single-track, alcohol fueled mission.

The CW: Paramount and Warner Bros. walk into a bar....

Is it National Gorgon Month at the CW? Three of their shows have featured a gorgon/Medusa in the last week. -
I keep wondering what Nene's reaction would be if the airing of her wedding were interrupted with clips of someone else's. I also loved how everybody apologized for their part in the melee that happened, except for Nene.

The wedding was beautiful. Eva looked amazing and so did all the ladies. I also loved the bridesmaid's maroon dresses.

I wouldn't be surprised. She had that same mentality when she started working with Ryan Murphy and then got a role on that awful sitcom of his. Then all of a sudden, she was too good for the show and the other ladies.

I said the exact thing to myself when he got called into the elimination round. He is a mediocre competitor at best and every time he's made it far, save for his first challenge, has been to his Johnny alliance. The only time he's actually impressed me was when he taught himself to swim after almost killing himself one challenge. He's a nice-ish guy, but being up Johnny's ass and the self-importance that has given him has just not been cool.
