  1. I totally didn't realize their marriage was over. Can't say I'm surprised, though, as their relationship didn't seem too healthy anyway.
  2. Glad to have the ladies back! I am not here for the Block storyline, but I'm with Kandi. I'd make that motherfucker pay too! I guess he feels since Kandi is rich, that absolves him of any responsibility. And the nerve to say Kandi is acting like a broke bitch? All he did was ensure that Kandi's not gonna drop the case and will get her entire legal team on it. He's a fucking loser and I'm glad that Riley is all, "I stop letting that man disappoint me after I was 12." (Wish she had that level of confidence about her nose because the new one is not great, but she's 18 and can make her own decisions.) All of this. I feel bad for Kenya because she got it in her head that she needed to be married to start and family and the signal she was receiving from lots of people was that if she didn't find a husband ASAP, then there must be something wrong with her. That messaging is constant when you hit your mid-30s and you're single and child-free. So she rushed into this marriage with Mark. The worst part is that Mark is still EXACTLY who he was when Kenya met him. He was a dick then and is a dick now. Her problem is that she expected him to change, especially as she made changes in her personality for him and it was clear that she was willing to compromise on lots of things; he wasn't willing to do the same for her. Stop feeling bad and divorce his ass Kenya! I know Cynthia's first wedding was shit, but why does she need the whole full shebang again, especially given the current situation? Basically, what she's saying non-verbally is that if they don't have a big wedding for the show she and Mike will have to come out of their own pockets to pay for it.
  3. This doesn't surprise me at all. I didn't think he was a loser, but he was the primary caretaker for most of those kids' lives while Towanda was off working or doing whatever. It was pretty clear from the earlier seasons that she never spent any time with him or the kids, especially when she was mostly living in LA being Toni's assistant, running her "executive assistants training/agency", and working on her "acting career". And then she laughed at him when he said he wanted to write again. So I'm totally not surprised that he stays away now, although it sucks if he really isn't in contact with the kids. (Although, I never really believe anything Towanda says, so....I actually think she's a sociopath.) Anyway, her kids have gotten soooooo big. I still see them as 11 year olds in my head.
  4. Let me get this straight: Jamal works in Atlanta, but is never there and he's also never with Gizelle.....???? So where is he all the damn time? Wendy's reaction during the proposal was so over the top, especially considering that she doesn't know Robyn like that. I did love that Giselle was all: Can these bitches get out of the way? I'm the best friend! Drunk Micheal coupled with the loss of the love of his life.....
  5. This is such a great, and accurate description, or everyone's reactions. And I agree, those reunion episodes were reality TV gold! I was sitting on the couch staring at the TV with my mouth open like:
  6. The special was released at midnight last night on HBOMax, in case anyone wants to catch it early.
  7. I agree. I wish they had evolved Lynn's character into becoming and establishing a business as a life coach or something along those lines, who vacillated between being hippy-dippy and a dropper of truth bombs, instead of the musician angle which came out of nowhere (other than the actress was starting a music career around the same time). I really liked her when she would call people on their shit out of the blue and then go back to being ridiculous or to whatever wackiness she was up to, because then everyone was always like, "oh yeah! She does actually have multiple degrees in this and knows what she's talking about."
  8. It was very telling that when Joan started to put herself first and enjoy what little popularity she got from her restaurant (her "it-girl" episodes"), that the other ladies were so against her, because how dare she not cater to every single one of their needs all the damn time. And of course the writers just had to put Joan in her place. All those episodes did for me was highlight how shitty Joan's friends were, not what a "bad" person Joan was being.
  9. It was a Hot Girl's party, with a late 90s/early '00s costume element. Kandi is channeling Lil Kim from the Crush on You video and Todd, I believe is Puff. I think Kandi looks great and love that she's very comfortable with herself. And there's nothing wrong with an adult, even in their early 20s, throwing a sexy-themed party. Now, throwing a party of that size during current conditions is an actual issue, but I'm totally not surprised as folks in Atlanta especially have been acting like COVID isn't a thing for the past 10 months.
  10. Same! But I absolutely adored this show and can't wait for the next season.
  11. I just started rewatching this show on Crackle, but they only have episodes starting at Season 4. I remembered loving this as a kid (and of course I still can't help singing loudly and harmonizing to the theme song every single time). And it's still so funny! Mona is the best! But the entire cast, even the kids, are phenomenal in their roles. I hear ya. I just watched the episode where Tony is in the speech class and the way the professor speaks to him and embarrasses him about his accent and Brooklyn-speak is so cringeworthy (and triggering - I'm Caribbean and when I moved to the US as a kid, people assumed that because I had an accent, I was dumb), especially since Tony was already such a great communicator with his "gift for gab".
  12. Me either! I was fucking wreck by the end of the episode. I started to lose it after the Uncle Phil montage when the camera cut back to the cast and it was dead silent in the room, and every single person was silently weeping. I was like: And then I started bawling again during the Will and OG Aunt Viv reconciliation because it felt so real and honest. The entire show was very well done and enjoyable. And as someone who watched this show live as a kid, I can't believe it's been 30 fricken years!
  13. I listened to a podcast a while ago that Jennifer was a guest on (can't remember which one now), but Jennifer did say that several of the women had recommended her for the show, but the producers didn't really seek her out until she completed her gaudy ass (my words, not hers) house.
  14. This was another show I only caught a few times when it was on, but caught recently on Netflix. It was so great and I'm pissed they got cancelled and ended on a cliffhanger. And I needed more of the moms. I loved every single time they battled by song.
  15. I never really watched this show when it was on, save for an episode here and there, so I just started a rewatch on Netflix. I'm near the end of season 6; and while I liked the earlier seasons, I started to hate this show somewhere around season 4 or 5. And as an avid watcher of The Game, I'm seeing that this is a trend of the Akil's. Their shows always start off great and then they start careening downhill fast. I hate every single one of the characters. Of the ladies, I hate Joan the least. She can be annoying, she sabotages every single one of her romantic relationships, and she clings so deeply to the ideal that if a woman is married by her 30's then something's wrong with her. But, she's a good friend to all of them. At some point, each one of the ladies has lived with her rent free. And she supports everything they do. And then the show went to my least favorite TV trope, male-female friends who ALL of sudden are in love, but have never shown any signs of it for years. I'm sorry, but I cannot stand Toni, although she's the only one that has been consistent throughout the series. But she's the worst kind of friend. And I wish they had done more with Lynn than have her be an over the top mooch. And Mya was just whatever (also, I can't stand the actress after seeing her on that reality show).
  16. Bumping this because apparently there's an upcoming reunion special for some reason. Of course, Imma tune in, but still.... https://www.instagram.com/p/CH0w3GjhmEZ/?igshid=e292ajijos97
  17. That was a lovely wedding. I'm glad that got a decent cake, finally. But I will always remember the albino peacock and church hat peep cakes. Also both of Trina's kid's are so fucking awkward! They tried to be sweet during their toasts though. Traci was mad from the time she tripped and she went back to the table and proceeded to place blame on everyone else, when she could have just laughed it off. And I just had to roll my eyes when she was talking about the "all the antics going on" at the wedding. The only person carrying on with antics was Traci. And Olivia is messy as hell. She needs to take her ass on somewhere. But since she and Traci's son (and their child) still live with Traci, Olivia probably hears Traci bitch and moan about the sisters all the time and was all too happy to feed into it. Very interesting to see Michael's take on the sisters' relationship and how Traci interacts with them.
  18. Heads up: for some reason, episode 3 is already up on Bravo's app - in case anyone wanted to see it early.
  19. I'm also not a fan of Candiass' either. The bow is pretty damn distracting. I need to see her moving in it to get a better assessment than the static pics. I love Robyn's even is it's not the right yellow, and would like Monique's more without all the extra....the fit is amazing though. And I kinda like Ashley's although I could have done with out the mosaic fabric detail on the underside; she should have went with a single color, like an emerald or turquoise to offset the jewel tone of her dress. The rest....they aren't awful, they just don't look amazing.
  20. I actually didn't mind that. If I didn't have a skull, anyone with one would be fair game to me. I hated that they kept letting people volunteer to go into elimination instead of being strategic. If I was playing, I would also do whatever I could to block "champion" or strong players from ever seeing an elimination so that they never had an opportunity for a skull. They just weren't playing smart and the rules didn't force them to have to be strategic. Now that there is a limited, low number of skulls, competitors will have to be a bit more thoughtful about who they let through.
  21. Looks like skulls are back and there are only 10 available. Hopefully they have a better plan for how to utilize them them this season.
  22. And then came the Albino Peacock cake! LMAO! Why are they messing with my girl Trina? She definitely should have hired someone to help her though. It definitely reminded me of when my mom got married, because she did all the planning. And the day of, she was running around like a mad woman until a couple of us were just like, "Stop! Tell us what is left to get done and go get ready for your damn wedding!" She wanted to do it all herself, but she should have hired someone to assist her for the days leading up to the wedding, or at the very least, for the day of. I'm surprised Towanda didn't volunteer to help her cause that seems to be her thing, but I guess she only volunteers to plan Toni's shit. She is still salty about that shit. I get that he cheated on her with Ms. Wanda, but she's holding on to her anger so tightly. The way she kept saying, "well I guess I'm at the right table" while ignoring Wanda. And then when they moved her to the other table, there was so much venom when she was speaking to whoever about the mistake. She's way past a full grown adult so she should have been able to sit there and be cordial, and if she couldn't do that, she could have easily gotten up and moved or asked someone to find her another seat. The passive aggressive shit, and then crowing in her talking head about how she didn't even know that was Braxton's wife (yeah right), was unsettling. And you can see where a lot of the ladies' unhealthy behaviors and interactions come from.
  23. I should have waited a couple of minutes! Oh man that cake was ridiculous! I would be mad too if it was my wedding.
  24. I haven't finished the episode yet, but I can't stop laughing at Trina's description of her cake: a duck wearing a church lady hat when she requested a peacock! LMAO!!!! I need to see this version of the cake.
  25. Nah. She legitimately thinks that shit looks good because it's some designer label. Especially since her comeback to Karen's WWHL appearance is that she's seen Karen's closet and everything is fake. She can say what she wants, but Karen looked fucking fabulous on WWHL, fake labels or not! https://www.instagram.com/p/CHWiFjKrhp_/
