  1. You mean "subway tile." Never really liked the look, myself. I'm much more a travertine, tumbled stone, granite, marble person. Of course I just buy and use what ever Home Depot has on sale, that I like. If you have a good eye for design you don't have to use expensive stuff imported from Italy. I see shows use high-end stuff from places like Walker-Zanger and it's soooo much money. But when you've got it like that, I guess money is no object so you just spend it. I used to be ADDICTED to HGTV. Now I MIGHT watch half of a "Love it or List It" or a "Property Brothers" and that's it. I don't even know what's on when anymore. SOMEtimes I catch an "Income Property" or "Rehab Addict." I also sometimes catch the show about the couple in TX that makes over houses for people, I think their names are Chip and Joanna, have no idea what the name of the show is. (But if I heard it, I'd recognize it.) I dont' watch ANY shows from start to finish. I'm not up early enough to catch a sporadic showing of some of Sarah Richardson shows. And Candice Olsen isn't on anymore.....
  2. Personally, I try to have sympathy for most people. And I am mindful that people can get a bad edit. To be fair to him, Ewell never tried to take credit for his in-iaws hard work. He said he helped them out with some social media. And I'm sure he did. He called the show for them. The extent to which he really wanted to be part of it -- HE didn't even know. Did he want to 'ride their coat-tails?" DId he ant to "cash in?" I don't know if those phrases apply. I think the wanted to help them. I think he wanted them to grow. That's clear. And I think he wanted to be part of it. BUT being 'part of it' doesn't mean taking advantage, or taking credit for their work. I think he MIGHT have been willing to work hard. (Although I admit I didn't see ANY hustle of immediacy from him.) It didn't help that he couldn't even explain what he'd already done for them -- let alone articulate a vision for future growth. He mentioned bringing in a consultant. Has he not seen the show. Would Marcus EVER pay for a consultant? Are you cray cray? MARCUS IS the consultant. Ewell just didn't have much to offer. That's all. No hate. No harm. No foul. He didn't have the skills they need. So there was no place for him. I'm sure his wife -- Lynn's sister -- has some hurt feelings. PERHAPS more than him. Lot's of times spouses are more up set for the other, than the person directly affected. I feel for him not because he wasn't going to be part of the business. But because came off looking like he didn't even know his own field of PR.All smoke and mirrors BS. Not good.
  3. I HOPE this family doesn't let the way the show was edited, and the fact that there was no job for Ewell, come between them. The BIL Ewell did a great thing. He saw that his brother and sister-in-law -- and that's family in my book -- had a great business that could grow even beyond anyone's imagination -- if they had the kind of help that Marcus could give. Only HE (and maybe NOT EVEN his wife) know is ULTIMATE motive for doing that. Did he do it just to GET IN on the business? Who knows? It looked like Lynn's sister was feeling some kinda way about how her husband, Ewell, was treated. And I get that there could be some disappointment, ruffled feathers, and time needed to accept what happened. BUT there really wasn't any place for him to fit in. I think Ewell and his wife, Lynn's sister, should just have accepted that. Ewell COULD have contacted CNBC, and NOT wanted in, and continued to help them with any promotion or PR -- IF they needed it. His text about the 'pro bono' work was low.... He's a relative who saw "The Profit" on TV -- and said to his wife, "Hey, that show would be great for your sister and Norton! Let's see if they'll go on it?" They applied, they were picked. The truth is there just wasn't a job for Ewell to do for Shuler's. Now IF -- they had franchised -- THEN at some point big companies do need a PR person to handle media calls, promotions, public outreach, etc. But even then it's got to be the right fit...it's more than social media, and that's all Ewell kept talking about. So I don't think he was even that great a marketing and PR person. He couldn't even market him self and articulate what HE wanted to do. Unfortunately for EWELL, his own circle of friends who do know him, will see that he didn't come off too well. It's one thing for me and other viewers -- even if there are millions of them -- who dont' know you from a can of paint, to think you came off as an empty suit. Who cares? It's ANOTHER for people you KNOW and who could hire you. or recommend you for a job, to think you don't know what your'e talking about. If you're a casual friend or colleague of his who THOUGHT he was good at his job and knew what he was talking about, and you see this show...would you now recommend him for a gig...I know I wouldn't. Now if you're an intimate friend and know he got a very bad edit, but that he really DOES know more than thinking marketing is Facebook and social media, then I guess you'd still know he knows his stuff. But you'd never know it from that episode.
  4. Was Ewell the one that contacted the show? If yes, I suppose he did want to help. The restaurant is a hit and he thought it could grow. And he was right about that. He just wasn't clear on how to do it. HE wasn't even clear that he thought franchising was the way to do it. Unless he pitched that to the producers when he contacted them, I think MARCUS was the first one to mention franchising. Ewel just kept saying 'grow the business, grow the business." Marcus asked him a couple of times what he meant. And he just threw out some bull shit. I think he might have said that's what he thought Marcus would take the lead on. As edited, he just didn't have much of a coherent plan and with out that clearly couldn't hold his own with Marcus, that's all. I think he wanted Marcus to handle the day-to-day 'business expansion' and be the 'brains'...and he'd do the PR to go along with that. But as we know and as was clear from the start that job didn't exist -- AND wasn't needed. And there ARE chain BBQ places: Red, Hot and Blue....Famous Dave's just to name two. Now, granted, how big they are in the south I don't know. But they DO exist. So THAT is a separate issue from whether THESE people were ready to franchise. Even if all they did was franchise in regions OTHER than the south, they COULD franchise. ((As an example, I'm from Philly -- home of the cheesesteak, a town with a local neighborhood hoagie (sub) place every every two blocks. BUT there are STILL some hoagie/sub chains moving into the area...ie: Jersey Mike's, and Jimmy John's. So maybe Shuler's COULD franchise. I'm not saying it would be a good idea, but it's not like it COULDN'T be done.))
  5. I'd agree with that. Editing is key in shows like this. We can't forget that.
  6. I get what your'e saying about the biscuit. But I suppose we sort on know the answer. For me, it's just that we'll never know how it might have done if he had left the recipe alone. It IS true that some people aren't into 'shortening' -- but then again how many of those people would be buying your biscuit anyway? Some. But enough to hurt sales? And he said he made them uniform in size....well I buy things that are not quite the same size each. But as long as the box has the total approximate weight, stuff like that is sold all the time. BUT, if you're scaling up for mass production, I DO get that he, as a 'money guy,' would want things uniform, and as mass appeal -- and consistent as possible. If it works and is successful, I suppose those are just the kinds of little tweaks that pay off.
  7. OMG. I love me some Marcus...and I love me some BBQ...ANY kind. ribs, pulled pork, brisket, or chicken. I think Marcus was a little rough on the BIL...and his concentration on PR. Although I have to admit, pushing major PR for a business that can't handle the customers it has is a little out of order. I just feel bad because if HE's the one who called....(I didn't see the beginning of the show) he's the one who was sort of left to the side. That said, his "PR expertise" was all BS speak. To be a PR person he sure couldn't even sell himself. I know he was edited to stumble and bumble, but he didn't impress me. In a meeting with REAL PR are people, I think they'd negotiate him under the table. He couldn't even get his catch phrases and buzz words out. All smoke and mirrors. No there, there. He was WEAK. And he was a PR person for the state. Yikes! It's only my opinion, but he came off like a person who got a cushy state job (possibly because of who he knew, or because the person hiring his didn't know him or herself, that all he was talking was BS), and stayed in that position...and was weak all along. We all know of people who BS their way into a job, and coast for decades. I'm not saying he did, but I wasn't impressed with what I saw.
  8. 1) I love, love, love the new Cynthia. It's about time. Now she just needs to kick peter to the curb. 2) I also think the awkward scene with Kayla, Todd, Riley, and Kandi was all BS. In real life I don't think they girls have an issue with each other at all. They don't know each other well. But that doesn't equal having and issue with a person. 3) Re Apollo, Phaedra brought all this on herself. And she does owe Kenya an apology. Because even if she did believe Apollo about Kenya. She -- being the church going woman she claims to be -- still didn't have to respond by calling Kenya a whore every time she could. 4) Porsha can leave now. She adds nothing 5) Bye to Nene, too 6) Don't think I'll EVER care one iota about Claudia.....I'm done with her and she's only been on two weeks. To me, it's just such a fabrication that she's on the show. And...it just. so. happens. that she moved to Atlanta, AND knows Kenya AND now she's on the show. UGH! 7) That Porsha/Kenya fight was more than just hair pulling. There was pushing and shoving and Porsha ended up on the floor. That's a lot more than hair pulling. In years gone buy, when someone pulled Kim's wig -- THAT was hair pulling. What Porsha did clearly qualifies as an attack.. The Kenya hate is so irrational that people can't see that?
  9. While I'm usually I'm team Kenya, I do think she was rude to the called on WWHL. However. I'm behind Kenya 100% in the Porsha fight. Sorry, but I think part of why there's so much condoned violence today is that people are not taught how to control themselves NO MATTER WHAT. I was raised that no matter what a person says that's no excuse for putting your hands on that person -- as long as they dont' touch you --which Kenya never did -- you don't put your hands on people. And the scepter was never in Porsha's face NOR her 'personal space.' If anything if was in CYNTHIA'S space NOT Porsha's. It was pointed TOWARD Porsha, but in front of Cynthia. I was raised that even 'the N word' is no reason to fight. If you know you're not one -- then what are you fighting about- WORDS? Walking away and taking the high road and NON-violence will show the other person for who they are. But nooooo.......Porsha was too STUPID to let Kenya just look like a fool. And she ended up with a mug shot for her trouble. I'm through with every other woman on this show. Kandi -- I can't deal with her continuing to be victimized by her mom and she doesn't even know it. Is Kandi all that, that Todd wants to put up with that BS? Kandi, dear, throwing money at a person does not equate to love. When are you going to wake up and set your momma straight. Damn. Cynthia. Poor thing needs love so much she puts up with Peter's demeaning comments and utter selfishness. Girl, you dont' think you deserve better than that? His utter disregard for you when you were ill showed me all I needed to know about him. And you said. you need to be glad he didn't cheat while you were sick. Are you that clueless about how you should have been cared for and respected? Phaedra: Sorry to say she's getting what she set herself up for....with marrying Apollo. Nene: Sick of her attitude. Wish she'd get off my TV and stay.I think a little humility would do her good. Porsha: a non-entity New Girl Claudia: Why, Andy? Why? Not interested in her one iota.
  10. Teresa Giu doesn't know the twins. Why would she call one of them to say she heard a rumor about them? whether it was said on TV or not. Why would she care enough -- she has no stake in what's said about them. If anyone MAYBE should called the twins it should have been Amber who knows them. Not Tre. Think about it...if you (Teresa) and a a NEW ACQUAINTANCE (Amber) have lunch with a friend of yours (Victoria)-- and I'm not even sure whether Tre and Vick are REAL friends....but anyway... And your friend (Victoria) then starts talking smack about a friend of the other person (the twins who Amber knew) -- a person YOU DON'T know. You'd sit there, be shocked, say "I'm not in it" Which is what Teresa did. You have no way to know whether it's true or not. And you really don't care, either. Even later at Dina's, it was AMBER who caught Teresa in the kitchen and brought it up. Teresa said then, "Let's drop it, not repeat it. I got my own issues. She even might gave remarked then, "I don't know these girls, we're just getting to know each other, I've got my own troubles. Just don't say anything." Granted, she the told Dina. But, I still don't know why Dina felt so involved enough saying some lame "I'm having these girls at my house, and I know someone said this horrible thing about them. I feel uncomfortable about that" That's BS. SHE didn't know them either. So....WHY in Florida did she VOLUNTEER more info, AFTER Jim blurted it out....WHY did Dina have to ADD fuel -- and said "That was it ....that was what someone told me?" Why? Dina is a phony ass shit stirrer. OMG that's so true. They didn't even know Kathy. So unless they rally did want to try her cannolis, they'd uses Rino's cannoli person from the restaurants. Duh. This show is just getting more and more sloppy with the set-ups that force people who don't know each other together. I'ts clear they're scrambling. Please, Bravo, before Tre goes away do a season of taping with the core families Giudices-Wakilis/Gorgas/Manzos living A NORMAL LIFE, can we try that? Without the fake drama. Maybe it won't work. but you could try it. I LIKE the normal stuff: -- dinner at Joe Giu's parents, Teresa makign breafast for the girls, the twin/bobby and the Gorgas on the boat. I liked the Florida trip, Rosie and Joe Giu playing pool.... Now granted, maybe all that normal stuff only works because it's interspersed with the dramatic BS....I don't know. WOULD viewers get bored if there were no fake drama...if everyone was all lovey-dovey? Walikis -- Now that they've sort of settled in and "figured it out" I have liked Richie and Kathy. Maybe their daughters reoccurring brain tumor had them do some soul searching....because I LIKE that they and Rosie don't want to get into the over the top drama. It seems they've settled inn to 'enjoy the ride." I like Chris Laurita too, He just wants to take of his family -- make lots of money of course, with his businesses which he just keeps trying....I don't know if he has it in him...but he keeps trying bless his heart. From day one, he's only want to smoke a cigar, play some cards, and have a couple of drinks with the guys....no B.S. He does seem to be a man who realizes his family is important, and he's got to do what it takes to take care of his wife and kids. And I think his failed business ventures -- there was that apparel company bankruptcy and a fraud case -- before BLK water. So he's 2 for 2 in the biz failure department.....BUT I do think wants to get out from under. I DON"T think he likes living with MILLIONS of dollars of debt over your head......and he certainly has no desire to even remotely, possibly be charged with anything. He may want to get rich, he may want to have a business man's comfortable life...but I don't think he's interested in the Giudice path. So I like him. To be honest I'm not sure how savvy a business guy he is. Being laid back doesn't mean your not tycoon material....but I don't get that he's the best at spotting a good opportunity -- NOR that he has that "it" entrepreneur drive, the Donald Trump/Sam Walton/Steve Jobs/Ben and Jerry's kind of ambition to make it in business, either. Poor Chris, a wife who's a nut case, and he has the responsibility of Nicholas and the family. Maybe he just needs a good job working for someone else....cause I don't see a lot of business savvy. Maybe he could run a SMALL mom and pop business -- which could also make millions. But I don't see him playing in the national tens-of-millions big leagues.
  11. The last couple of episodes -- including this one -- are prime examples of why I get the feeling -- and it's understandable -- that BRAVO doesn't know WHAT to do with the show -- but is TRYING to plan ahead .....I mean, they supposedly 'dropped' Kathy, Rosie, and Jacqueline as regulars...but a few weeks into the season they're back on, in every darn episode. So are they on the show or not? I think the producers knew right after the season started the "new cast" was not the "right fit." Either they weren't clicking with the audience or each other. But it seems the show is floundering -- with the producers themselves trying to decide whether they should keep Joe and the girls on the show without Teresa, so they can carry that line until she gets back IMO, there's no other way to explain Kathy/Rosie, etc -- being off the show then on.....I think Bravo hired the twins and Amber but because they weren't related to and didn't even know the Gorgas or Giudices -- producers were really at a loss as to how to transition them in. Look at the scenes where the twins were at Kathy's, clearly meeting for the first time...and the guys were introducing themselves to each other -- clearly from the questions they had no connection to each other. In some of the talking heads the twins and Amber say thing s like "I heard she was a trouble maker." Really? From who? I hope Joe and the girls stay on the show. And I like Teresa and most of the original cast members -- and their families. To be honest I'd LOVE to see more of the Joe Giu's parents, and Kathy and Rosie's mom. Heck, throw in Teresa parents too. Look at how much of a hit Josh Flagg's grandmother Edith was on Million Dollar Listing LA. I also liked the Manzo's interaction with the Gorga/Giudices/Wakilis. Jacqueline is the only one who as far as I'm concerned can just go. I'ms just so sick of her. BUT I like her husband Chris, who really does seem to be a decent guy who's never wanted to get into a lot of shit stirring. I'm sooo tired of Jacq begging to be Teresa's friend or whining about why Tre won't call her back. ENOUGH about that -- and the autistic kid, Nicholas. I DO find it refreshing that they are downsizing and being real about their financial situation. They have no choice...but I'm still glad there'll keeping it real on that score. One more thing about money...I'd LOVE to know the REAL scoop on Richie and the gas station and Kathy the hair dresser....I DO think that whatever their finances are they are smart enough to have a calculated sit-down and say this is a once in a lifetime chance -- we can't screw this up money-wise. When this is over -- whether Kathy's cannolis sell or not -- I bet they want to be set for life. So Richie may have had a bad gas station deal and Kathy may have just done hair before this started -- but I bet they are saving their Bravo money -- and even with this new house -- have no plans to be house poor. So...will the twins and Amber be let go after just this season? Please G-d, yes. Chalk it up to bad casting -- a nice try -- but uh, it didn't work out.
  12. THANK YOU! Victoria first told Teresa Giu and Amber, right? THEN, at Dina's house (I think) Amber talked to Teresa about it in another room -- basically just saying, "Can you believe what Victoria said. DO you believe it OMG!" -- THAT is a normal follow-up conversation that you would have with the other person who was there with you when you both were told crazy shit like that. You'd call that person or the next time you saw them, you'd say, "Do you believe that shit?" WHEN Amber did that Teresa DID shut her down, saying "let's just not repeat it. I don't even know why Victoria would say that. I've got my own problems. Let's just stay out of it." Teresa did do that. THEN -- as girlfriends will do -- she did tell a friend she THOUGHT would keep her mouth shut and keep it all in confidence. And that is exactly what DINA should have done! WHY did Dina feel the need to say ANYTHING, she doesn't know the twins well enough to give two shits about any rumor about them. Why would she even CARE ENOUGH to repeat it? She was in barely acquaintance stage...if I were her I'd have thought, "I don't know these twins, I don't know why this rumor was started - ESPECIALLY KNOWING Victoria was the one who started it....I would have thought - even if they ASK me have you heard anything.....I'd have won and Oscar for how dumb I would have played: "Rumor what rumor. I don't know why anyone would even tell me anything. I don't get into crap like that." And it would have stopped there as far as Teresa getting dragged into it. DINA is the reason the twins are angry at Teresa. That would have kept Teresa out of it....But, But BUT....Amber told Jim...so he still would have said what HE said...in an open room of people in Florida. But even so...as was said earlier, at least Teresa would have been out it.
  13. I know...can you believe it! I go back a lot further than that....at 54 -- which is the new 34:)! -- I remember ORIGINAL runs of shows back to the mid 1960's......and OMG -- black and white, TV top antennas, getting up to change the channel -- AND separate dials for UHF and VHF! Kids these days have no idea....Heck not even kids..people born in the 1970s are int heir 40s! I was a TV junkie. have always been glued to it!
  14. Any one seen the newest fake-ass show on HGTV "MOVE IN OR CASH OUT" -- two brothers -- who do exactly what the Drew and Scott the "Property Brothers" do on in Atlanta. UGH. I just happened to stumble across it this morning. It's a cross between Love it or List it...and Property Brothers....and it sucks.... There are the unexpected construction problems of LIOLI,,,and the brothers of PB.....nothing new and it's bad,.....and fake. I don't trust that the couple is a real couple...that the houses are really fro sale....I don't trust anything about premise of the show. I hate that there's no real GOOD place to discuss HGTV anymore. This site is about the only place. And so few few people are interested the thread doesn't really get much traffic. The HGTV message boards used to be so busy.....event he TWOP site had more posts.
  15. If you've only been watching for several years, when it STARTED going down hill, you might have already missed the shows: "This Small Space" (with Susan Crenshaw and Peter Falico) -- and "Room to Go" with Peter Falico, and "Gardening by the Yard" (with Paul James). "Room to Go" (YEARS old reruns of course) on Ion Life channel. So is "Design Rivals" Steven Sabato and Chris Hindeman's second show after the did "Designer Guys." (which also aired on HGTV for a while) Also as for 'design" HGTV had a show called "The Stagers" which I loved. It aired from about 2008-2010. The main stager was named Matthew.
  16. I love me some "People's Couch" I agree with them about the Manzo show. Why Bravo would even think they could carry a show is beyond me. Who cares about them.
  17. My beef is with IonLIFE. I declare it airs the exact same show for entire week, in the SAME time slot. I watch a lot of late night makeover shows. But it's the SAME Designer Rivals episode in the same hour for the whole week, and the same "Neat" in the same hour, and the same "So Chic" -- and the same "Room to Go." What network DOES THAT? that same show in the same hour five nights in a row. Even networks that repeat shows that much VARY THE HOUR that the show airs! I've heard of block programming but this is ridiculous.
  18. I also go waaay back with HGTV. Think: -- The Carol Duvall Show -- CIndy Piccolli on Decorating with Style -- Kitty Bartholomew -- Chris Casson Maddon -- Joan Sterfend on Decorating Cents -- Matt and Shari Hiller on Room by Room -- Michael Payne - Designing for the Sexes -- Before and After - a whole house remodel show Pat Simpson -- Fix It Up - Pat Simpson and Jodi Marks -- Help Around the House - Henry Harrison -- Weekend Warriors w/ Chris McWatt -- Gardener's Journal -- Gardening By the Yard w/ Paul james -- Landscape Smart w/ Ken Bastida -- Outer Spaces -- and Surprise Gardener w/ Suzie Coelho -- Room to Go w/ Peter Fallico -- This Small Space w/ Susan Crenshaw -- Homes Across America w/ Joe Ruggiero -- Fantasy Open House -- Dream House (followed one family or owners whole house makeover all season long) -- AND there WAS a "helpful Hints" type show that had a heavyset woman host who remade things out of scrap, or told you how to get paint off of something, or things things like that. She did all kinds of household hints. And I can't think of the name of it. It was sort of like a "Hints from Heloise," but it wasn't her. I think it aired early in the morning and waaaay back when it might have aired before or after Carol Duvall's show Those were BEFORE: Save My Bath, Spice Up My Kitchen, Awesome Interiors with Jennifer Convy, Room for Change w/ Joanne Liebler, Designers Challenge, Landscapers Challenge, Curb Appeal, Design on a Dime, Designed to Sell, Sensible Chic, Double Take, 24 Hour Design and Rate My Space both w/ Angelo Surmelis, Kenneth Brown, ANY of Sarah Richardson shows (Sarah,s House, Sarah 101, and others), Debbie Travis, House Hunters, Small Space, Big Style, Holmes on Homes, Holmes Inspection, Divine Design, Candice Tells All And WELL before: Design Star (I only watched the first season), Genevieve Gorter, Color Splash w/ David Bromstad, The Antonio Project w/ Antonio Ballatore, Bang for Your Buck, Curb Appeal the Block, Flea Market Flip, Love it or List It, Property Virgins, The Property Shop, Income Property, and the G-d awful Myles of Style w/ Kim Myles, Yard Crashers, House Crashers, Bath Crashers, Kitchen Cousins. Cousins on Call, Flip or Flop, Brother vs Brother, Handyman Challenge And these are just what I could think of off the top of my head. I WAS ADDICTED to HGTV. Those first shows got me HOOKED on it. Now it's barely an after thought. Too much real estate not enough interior design and reasonable gardening shows.
  19. This situation makes me think of he issue of what makes a family. Personally, I think it'd be nice and very "adult" of the women if they could just rise to another level (as Iyanla says) and if not be friends at least get together enough and or allow the kids especially the younger ones...to be friends and REALLY get to know each other and develop family bonds with each other. Brother/sister/sibling bonds can be great connections and relationships -- and when they work -- they're not like any other. And even the ADULT kids could all get to know each other IF they wanted to. You have to WANT to build a relationship. Look at adopted kids who meet their birth parent and other sibs -- and grow close. But you have to WANT to do that. AND IF they could all be an extended family -- just THINK of the wind they could all be underneath each others wings! They really ARE their own village. And think of the support that COULD be! Then again......there are families and situations where even siblings who DO grow up in intact families who have no relationship with each other (due to whatever dysfunctional dynamics) so the fact that most of these kids won't know they're half sibs...I suppose isn't that big a deal. From what I saw ALL the kids seem to REALLY need emotional support. ANd to be honest......trifling, deadbeat dad or not -- and I hate to blame the women -- BUT, if their kids are that needy for love -- the MOM'S ALSO HAVE DROPPED THE BALL! But THEY (or at least some of them) have no respect for themselves nor good judgement -- so how COULD they raise a self confident, non-needy child...when they are not that themselves. The dad, Jay, is trifling -- AND SO ARE THE MOMS....so you have TWO trifling people making babies who are to blame. I know they may have been on TV and nervous -- but NONE of those kids seemed 'emotionally together.' They SAID they were done with him and didna't care , but you could tell by the way they said it they hadn't moved past anger. Maybe that's what I'm seeing.....but I suppose that's asking a lot when BOTH parents are trifling. And -- to be honest -- I BET they might also also have some anger toward their mom too...
  20. Love the promo scene where Iyanla is carrying that damned big handbag of hers....."He's done, I'M done." She's a hoot sometimes.
  21. One word: PENIS!.... I LOVE the editing. By the THIRD time Iyanla got up to let a another woman in -- I thought OMG -- no they are NOT going to do it like this. I wondered if the audience -- and the women -- would "get' the nuance of how it was being done. And Iyanla's comments every time she got up were great too. But when they cut away to a break, and then she yelled "PENIS!" -- THAT was crazy funny:):) Nicole is upset -- yet there are women with children -- whose children are OLDER than hers. And I think the woman that she is upset with -- her kids with Jay are older than Nicole's children. So Nicole was not the first girlfriend, so what is SHE upset about. Forget Jay, I want Iyanla to stay on these women....and REALLY get them to 'go there' about themselves and answer WHY did you do this. A couple of them said he was so persuasive and able to convince them he was serious. Really? 'Cause he couldn't convince me the sky is blue -- let alone sleep with him. I wonder how much Iyanla knows about each situation or family she's taping with -- 'cause her reaction to hearing from the sisters that some of these women were professional with higher educations sure looked genuine to me. I really do think she is utterly amazed by all this.....I know I am.
  22. Bravo has down that? Where, when? 2) To me it's clear that Amber knows how to get a lot of camera time and viewer attention. Duh. Be a shit-stirer. And she is intentionally being that. History has shown that's a way to get at least some hot, short-term attention. We have no idea to what extent cast members are forced by contract to interact with each other. Now, technically Amber's husband Jim is not a cast member. So is he contracted to be on the show at all? Because that, to me, would need to be known before I could intelligently comment on why he does or doesn't film with Joe....especially given that he doesn't know Joe in real life. Why WOULD he film with him? (Unless pressured by his wife or producers, or contractually has to do it.) 3) as for the Giudice's kids and the 'woe is me' story line....that's not phasing me at all. I couldn't care less about that. I'm actually sick of Gia and don't like her that much. She's too smart-mouthed for me, and to involved in adult business. The kids don't need to be filmed at all, really. To this day I don't know what the EXACT things are that Joe and Tre are accused of. My question will be afterward was their sentence any harsher than anyone else who did what they did. (And it's be nice to see a really big mortgage company exec get punished. How is it that little fish can always get caught, an others who are really RESPONSIBLE haven't even been charged, and won't be) 4) Rino -- crass? Yes? Loveable, soft-heated, down to earth? I haven't decided. Bobby -- really just strikes me as a brainless idiot. The twins are the same way -- nucklehead Jersey girls who got lucky getting on a TV show. ABSOLUTELY nothing special. I LIKE Dina. I like people who want peace in their life. I LIKE that she's trying to be on the show and stay out of drama.
  23. I saw a promo for Manzo'd with Children....with Caroline, Al, and the three kids. OMG, will people actually tune in for this? I've never liked the Manzo kids, so I will NOT. I'm done with them. My time is more valuable than that.
  24. I can't wait to see how THAHN compares to TP's new nighttime soap coming to OWN called "If Loving You is Wrong" -- sort of HIS version of "Desperate Housewives"...about for or five families living on the same block...and their relationships, rendevous, and machinations. The promo makes it look better than THAHN. Seems much faster paced. Given that TP has so many shows going at the same time -- no wonder THAHN is so bad. Separately, I ask myself: IS THAHN getting better? I dont' know that I'd say it's getting "BETTER" Is that the right word? "BETTER?"
  25. I have taken another two week break from the show. I just come here to see what happened. MAYBE I'll watch some episodes in a marathon. Probably it would be more like tuning in to just catch certain scenes. Anything with quincy in it I don't need to see. I would like to see the scene between David and Jeffrey. I take it Jeff FINALLY told his Dad that his mom was threatening him. (I've only seen the scene where he tells SOMEONE but in the promo it's not clear that it's David he's talking to) As for the actors experience before this.... The younger actors, especially haven't done much -- AT ALL. Heck, TP saw the guy who plays Wyatt in a commercial. Really? I wonder what "attracted' him to the actor (Aaron McConnel)....maybe he's Tyler's type (for the role, I mean) Early on I checked out all the IMDB bios .....the acting was so bad I HAD to see what the heck have these people bee in. Even the actors who play Katherine Veronica haven't done much on film or TV....maybe they've done some theater (and most of that NOT major) You know it's bad when the acting AND writing are so terrible you don't know WHICH is worse. I guess it's both in some cases, but one of those in the other. Peter Parros IMO is clearly a better actor than this material. Same for the actors who play Katherine and Veronica, I THINK. But having not seen them in other things I can't say. Maybe they suck as actors AND the writing is bad. i THINK John Schneider could even do a better job if the writing werent' so stupid. He seems off kilter for some reason....like TP isn't giving them enough rehearsal time or something...or he's just horribly miscast....because even now he doesn't seem comfortable in the role. Where as, Peter Parros or even the actresses who play Katherine and Veronica -- seem settled in to their parts......unfortunately the dialog is still just so stilted the show is unwatchable. And the actor who plays Jeffrey...IS he a better actor than the stupid part that's being written? Who knows? I haven't seen him in anything else to compare it to...... for his sake I hope so.
