  1. "Meanwhile, Bell pursues a new fiscal venture that may bring him into a whole new market" No, Bell just wants to capitalize and take credit for something he didn't think of to be "rich and famous" - or is that infamous, LOL. The clueless dad, the "dirty" mom, and woefully ignorant son (Bell's assistant) - wasn't even a good scenario. It made zero sense he would go to the assistant to ask his dad to contribute to this venture but guess I have to suspend belief on some things. Maybe the writers are reading this board as they seem to have him returning to his unscrupulous ways. But they're giving him a run with Dr. Cain--immoral, unethical and about as sleazy as Bell when it comes to patient care and money. I don't really see the point of Dr. Cain as Bell was characterized this way in S1. I hope the writers haven't run out of ideas already. Connic - let's hope they can weather the storm of getting to the bottom of dialysis patients dying (unnecessarily) without damaging their relationship. Raptor and Cain - we get it; they're both brilliant (and a bit egotistical) surgeons in their field. The bragging/infighting was just silly and it was so obvious the patient was about to bleed out then saved by Raptor. Guess I've seen Raptor mellow somewhat whereas Cain is just purely the bad guy here. Nic should already know what she's getting into being part of his team (everyone knows how reckless and arrogant Cain is). It's still early in the season but I can already see conflict brewing between Conrad and Devin. I can understand professional/philosophical differences but I hope it doesn't become ridiculous between them. For whatever reason, this season's start just hasn't wowed me and only hope it's better with each subsequent episode.
  2. Yes, I remember the storyline with Hank (pedophile) now that you mentioned it. Also remember the storyline with Chexton under the car. Guess I just somewhat zone out when Chexton is the "main" storyline.
  3. I know - the writers throw a storyline line to us, then it disappears for a season. I'm still wondering how HODAD was "cured". It seemed Kit was giving it another shot with ex but who the hell knows with these writers!
  4. Exactly! Other than the inmate saying he was convicted for a crime he DID commit (typical), I though Iggy's solution was rather pathetic.
  5. And honestly, for (1) - Georgia wasn't even cast that much in S1 and (2) - it seemed like she and Max were at odds--even in the flashback of their relationship, engagement, then eventual marriage. They've shown her with more importance now as an apparition (or scary vision) than she was in S1. Unsure why her role is so pivotal now (I get he's grieving and "sees" her but agreed - be gone! Lazy writing - you're right; they could have found a more tangible and realistic way to demonstrate Max's loss AND how long will we, the viewers,, have to endure this episodic adventure?
  6. Have to agree. I actually thought maybe she was one who may have died in the crash. I believe a poster, or several, mentioned they didn't think she would be returning due to pregnancy (believe she's since had the baby) so I was surprised, and a bit disappointed, that she returned. Also, why did she look so much like a Sandra Bullock clone--the hair, makeup--she looks so different this season. And yeah, really, she and PT guy - WTH?? Guess she has found a new way to cope with therapy, LOL! Yep - like that Reynolds is taking the intern under his wing; hope this was truly a lesson learned for the intern,
  7. Pretty sad that most of the responses were to the power outage and not so much to the episode.🤣You do wonder, after a while, if these medical shows all have the same script--just the names changed to protect the innocence😉 With Colin Donnel's departure and more emphasis on Manstead and Chexton, this show has now been placed on my "CAN Miss TV" schedule😀 Oh and a bit surprising to see Noah return; was he even in S4??
  8. THIS X's A MILLION!!! Love Dr. Latham although I didn't care for him doubting Conner but redeemed himself in the end--going the extra mile to find out what really transpired. And sorry, I can't even place Hank??!!
  9. And it wasn't that long ago she was pregnant and about to marry the nice guy (former pro basketball player--can't think of his character name at the moment--Tate?). She got all freaked out after she lost the baby, upset with him (who I didn't see did anything wrong but try to help) but NOW she's ready?! Ms. Passive-Aggressive April: I never saw the "love connection" between Chexton (he should have run back to Vicky; they made a much better couple with more in common) but it's only gotten worse--which I think most of us discussed, ad nauseum, on these boards for S2.
  10. Well said and totally agree; thought they could have remained colleagues rather than romantic partners. For me, there was never any chemistry or warmth between them from the beginning! Yep and they definitely needed better writers as they're the ones that did a character assassination on Ava that made (most) of the fans vehemently dislike her and the "romance".
  11. Not much activity on this board for the 2nd episode. Somewhat understandable as this season just hasn't piqued my interest as did S1 and S2. I feel the writers are changing the characters and bringing in others that aren't really necessary just to create a storyline--and a not very good storyline at that. I hope there's no triangle among Kit, Bell and Cain - puh-leeze, just no! "As much as I like Morris Chestnut as an actor, I don't feel he's really needed as he is reminiscent, imo, of the earlier version of Bell--initially. I'll say again, what has happened to the villainous HODAD? Glad that Connic returned to the original house and she' decided to move in with him. BUT, when will the other shoe drop? We know Conrad will look into her sister's death since her dad gave him the paperwork (and almost an ultimatum). And absolutely, suspend belief with Mena and Nic breaking into the house and it's full of patients - how did they know the clinic was open that quickly? Did someone alert Chastain to send them over? Crazy! I don't know, this episode just fell flat to me. Didn't care for the "reunion" of AJ and his dad whatsoever. As others stated, Mena storyline was predictable and Dr. Prevesh--what's going on there? As a matter of fact, granted, it's early and only 2 episodes in, but this season has not provided the excitement or drama from S1-2. I hope the writers/showrunners won't change the formula that made it successful, initially.
  12. That was the most underwhelming and unsatisfying sendoff/ending for Connor. For me, they seemed to make it all about Ava rather than Connor; seemed like HER sendoff *sigh* IMO, Bekker had almost more screen time and a more dramatic ending than deserved. Yes, most on this board, including myself, wanted to see her gone; however, it could have been a simple statement that they found evidence Ava killed him, was in prison and committed suicide there. Now Connor feels guilty and like a failure--not being able to save his mother, father and now her. Why couldn't they have devoted a bit more time to him saying goodbye, Robin being there with him, and them relocating somewhere to start over together, etc. Instead, he says nothing to his friends and colleagues and walks out alone. Not the send off for someone whose role had been so pivotal to the show and the primary star since S1. Huge missed opportunity to do this right. As far as the rest of the show: Manstead & Phillip - who cares and please, not the tired amnesia trope, lies, misunderstandings, etc. Chexton - again, who cares and was happy she wasn't pregnant. Poor, put-upon suffering Maggie. First kidney donor to a virtual stranger and now metastatic breast cancer. I don't necessarily see her as this strong, indomitable woman but more of Maggie the martyr. I understood her point but this IS the time you need supportive friends (she doesn't seem to have any real family except her "work" family). Last comment - don't remember seeing that cutie pie Dr. Mercel (sp?) before; wonder if he'll become a regular part of the show now that Conner's departed? How much more will we see of Dr. Latham? What happens to the hybrid OR? Sadly, now that CD has left, I don't have a burning desire to watch; it will be hit and miss and fairly easy not to tune in weekly. Have to agree with another poster - the writing is just terrible. I think after 20+ years of producing L & O, L&O, SVU, and this Chicago series, Dick Wolf needs to hang it up. He's stayed too long at the party. There's only so many stories to tell and there have been numerous medical shows on TV. Chicago Med, imo, was brilliant in the early seasons with a great ensemble cast; sadly it's gone the way of other shows that have simply run out of ideas.
  13. I hear ya and agree...although I'm not sure that was his choice OR why they made her so unlikable??!! It would have been best if they just remained "competitive" colleagues which was how she was portrayed initially. It will be interesting to "hear" the explanation in S5, E1. After that, I won't be religiously watching since it will all be about Chexton and Manstead - ugh & *sigh*
  14. Agreed. First they get rid of the Captain (Mercedes Mason) and now Afton Williamson? It didn't sound like an amicable departure, imo, from what I read and no real reason given. Wonder what the explanation will be? Wasn't she trying for a detective position? I'm sure her "transfer" will be mentioned in S2. I thought it was a solid initial ensemble cast. But, what's going on with this show--losing the better characters then replacing them with others? At least Ali Larter is a bit closer in age to NF's character (Nolan) and obviously, will end up being his love interest this season. Is this show just going to center around Nolan, i.e., new love interest and now a new detective taking him under his wing? Isn't that what Bishop was doing? Will they even develop the remainder of the cast? I also don't think moving to Sundays is a good move; that just may be the kiss of death for S2.
  15. I posted a question back in June on another thread - is there a Spoiler Thread for New Amsterdam, Season 2 (or in general)? Thx!
  16. Agree 100% with you on "Rhatham" bromance. I believe whatever show he (Latham) was on has been cancelled (or at least the character). Think I read that somewhere on this board, so yeah, unsure if he'll even return and why, really? Rhekker was basically the only ones who seemed to use the OR. With Rhodes gone, who knows what direction they'll go with the Hybrid OR.
  17. Just read on TV Line where they're adding a new cast member for S3 - Morris Chestnut who'll play a Dr. Barrett Cain. I like MC as an actor and enjoyed him in Rosewood and TEW (The Enemy Within) but this seems like a silly move by the writers/showrunner. IMO, it appears he's a cross between MJW's Raptor character (brilliant, charming surgeon) and a combination of Lane/Quo Vadis guy (ruthless, greedy and vengeful). I'm not sure why they couldn't have just returned HODAD to this "original" role and/or bring back Marshall (Conrad's dad) to get the hospital solvent again after HODAD's debacle. Doesn't say how long Dr. Cain (Cain & Abel scenario, lol) will last but so far, all the villains have died pretty much after one season. Here's hoping it's intelligent writing and storylines and not the usual trope with these hospital dramas.
  18. Agree with a few others - hope they just let him leave (Mayo Clinic, to Hawaii, etc.) preferably with Robin, but even if it's without her, just don't have any "reunion" or interaction with Ava. Just let Ava be gone, i.e., in jail for killing his dad and all the other psychotic things she did, dead in freak accident after storming out of the hospital, etc. Good riddance to her!. Sadly, it doesn't sound like NBC even wants Colin back for guest spots - shameful! I hope he finds another show that becomes a HUGE hit with him in the lead! What's worse is that the stories will be centered around Mansted and Chexton - two of the worse couples on the show! Unless they bring back Dr. Latham and begin to develop his story, along with Sharon and Maggie's stories, it's going to be fairly easy, for me, to let go of this Chicago series☹️
  19. Is there a Spoiler Thread for New Amsterdam and if so, where is it located?? Thx!
  20. Agree with many other posters on this finale. I felt it was an unsatisfying, disappointing and a horribly unresolved ending with Conner/Robyn/Ava. Are we fans to "read between the lines" to think-believe Ava was confirming she killed the father to clear the way for them to be together? I presume there will be some type of "explanation" (on departures) in the 1st-2nd eppys of S5; I only hope it's plausible. With all the fan uproar with Colin Donnell leaving (could care less about the Ava character), maybe the showrunner will reconsider and Colin will return for a recurring guest role Who knows! And I wasn't aware The Code had been cancelled so even if Dr. Latham returns to Chicago Med, there won't be the chemistry, respect and mentoring that I loved between Rhodes and Latham - big miss! For me, the only bright spots of the episode were the return of Dr. Latham, Dr. Charles/CeCe's wedding and even the acerbic Dr. Abrams - what a no-nonsense character!. The rest of the episode was forgettable. I'm not sure why we're revisiting old storylines (guess some may be a set up for next season) but it just doesn't hold my interest. Manstead - why are they determined to reunite these characters? I knew he wouldn't relocate and, of course, she won't die. Poor self-sacrificing Maggie - now burdened with MBC, seriously? Bernie/Emily with their unconventional and plain weird "plan" (was that to be a corollary to the Alzheimer woman (Joan?), husband and Roxanne?) I don't know why Bernie's wife would agree to this; after all, they are still married. Asinine storyline. Only silver lining is perhaps that's the last we'll see of Bernie/Emily! Sexton a bit sickening "happily" working together again. But hold on - they've been together for a hot second and now she's potentially pregnant? Just NO to this. It didn't work out so well with Tate (a true Mr. Nice Guy) when she was engaged, pregnant and seemingly happy either but I'm sure, this will be all unicorns and rainbows *sigh/eye roll* Manstead/Phillip - Guess Phillip is out of the picture (way too soon for his proposal) as we know this dramatic event will only push Manstead back together *double sigh* especially after Agent Lee was so magnanimous to tell Maggie how "good a guy/never find anyone better" Will is - PUH LEEZE but maybe she (Agent Lee) sees that those two deserve each other, LOL!!
  21. Could have done without the Xtasy storyline. Same sentiment as others have expressed. Glad to see Dr. Reynolds had backbone and didn't listen to his overbearing mother or sister. He is a grown a$$ man so yeah, it's time for him to make his own traditions and memories. The oh-so-predictable crash at the end - WOW - Hasn't that trope been done to death in too many shows and soap operas? Seriously, they couldn't have thought of a better cliffhanger? I looked for Helen as well so that will be the mystery for the start of S2. Is Max's wife dead or will she make it after the crash? Personally, I hope they write out Georgia's character; she didn't ad any value. Looks like Lauren has been written out permanently--no way she would have survived that crash-but glad she made amends with Helen before her demise. BTW, that was Bloom's best performance this season; maybe rehab also saved her, lol! C'mon now, you're ruining the story with your logic, LOL!! And yes, Leslie Uggams looks good for 75!
  22. Typical, boring and tepid episode: Natalie – overstepping (again) with a patient Halstead – misjudging kidney donor and recipient but of course he’ll be right about Phillip. Is Phillip a pathological or compulsive liar? Glad to see Dr. Latham if only for a brief moment. Sorry there was no Robyn this week. Since Bekker is being written out – why are they trying to redeem her now? Don’t fall for it Conner – trust your instincts! From what I had read on many website synopses, it stated Bekker had slept with the father and I still believe she was behind all the other incidents that occurred, e.g., finger nick in OR, Robyn’s fake kidnapping, etc. How are they going to write out Rhekker? I truly hope there’s no car accident or anything tragic for him at least. She – I could care less--just make sure she’s gone permanently. April – her usual passive-aggressive self Bernie & Emily – please get rid of those two. Rather cheeky of Bernie to ask for Viagra; you could see the disgust on Choi’s face! If this is the best the writers can do for an almost penultimate episode, they need to stop now! It will be quite easy for me to stop watching weekly if they don’t come up with better storylines, and revamp the characters, for S5.
  23. Couldn't agree more and voiced a similar opinion a (on a different thread) when I learned he was "leaving". I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and with the illusion, that Robyn & Connor will leave and work together elsewhere which would at least keep the door open for any guest appearances by him. I think (hope) Ava meets her demise in a tragic, fatal accident - she doesn't need to return for any reason, imo. It was a very bad move to have ever put Rhekker in a romantic relationship.
  24. Not much of a cliffhanger for me since as far as I'm concerned, they both can go (dad and sister) but I think it will be the dad especially with all the "memory flashbacks" Nic had while waiting any word from Conrad and him (the dad) saying he wanted to "tell her something". Will the dad's heart even be useful to Jessy if he is the the one died? Whoever dies, will Nic blame Conrad? Nic still angers me with her ultimatums to Conrad with the "meet me halfway remark"! Seems to me that's what he's been doing since S1. I presume they've been together for some time and if memory serves, there was a flashback where she had a miscarriage (early in their relationship?) and he was supportive and certainly there for her--not only then but many tough and dramatic-filled times: mother dying, her druggie sister, the uninvolved, estranged dad, desperately clearing her when she was falsely accused and in jail, etc. After all this time, it seemed logical--to him (and me)-- to take the next step together but she's too busy taking on everyone's problems--without help--and then whining about it. I like them together but at times, I want him to walk away. Conrad is a good guy even though those sporadic God-like heroics can be a bit much, lol! Marshall (Conrad's father) was willing to take on Quo Vadis to "right the ship" (offered some astronomical amount of $$'s) so I'd much rather have had him remain with the show to get Chastain solvent plus have oversight on Bell. Since Kit is giving her ex another chance, is this woman going to be Bell's new love interest, will he sign the papers, or return to his evil ways as we know he doesn't want anyone holding him accountable? I mean, c'mon, we have to have an antagonist and Bell was exceptional at playing that role! Lastly, is the path clear for Mina and Raptor? It's been a slow burn but one I hope finally ignites a bit for S3!
  25. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought too much of the episode was devoted to Nic's sister and the whole kidney "dilemma". I could;d care less about this storyline and it needs to end--hopefully next week. Looks like this was Alec's swan song, though! Bell's as unscrupulous as ever - playing on the lotto guy's feelings to "secure" his winnings to get funding for Chastain but Raptor is astute enough to know and see what he's up to. I just love how the writers introduce a storyline that comes out of thin air *sigh*, i.e., I didn't realize Chastain was in such dire straits and yet Bell blames Lane and Quo Vadis for this of which he had a hand in both?! Ballsy of him! I, too, wonder what Conrad had to give in order for selfish, unrepentant Jessy to be placed at the top of the donor list. Yep, he has money but really, would he go that far for Nic especially with her ambivalence towards him? I know, I know - he loves her! Mina - that was quite OOC for her but must admit, glad she acknowledged her feelings for Raptor--even if she alleges she was in a fugue state (yeah right - LOL!)
