  1. Where can I join the discussion for S3 since I'm in the US (don't' believe S4 is available to us yet). I don't want to comment on the wrong thread or spoil anything for others. NOTE: I've been trying to comment forever on Transplant but couldn't find it initially. I'm very late to the party but so glad I found this thread after the list finally "expanded" for me, LOL! Thanks!
  2. Well, I was going to post something but you beat me to it, and I agree 100%. I have been so thoroughly disappointed and disgusted with S4 and this just cements my feelings. It makes no sense why Helen has suddenly changed her mind and doesn't want to marry Max. As soon as they showed her, I thought, I she's still in London. Like so many things that have occurred this season, let's hope they explain this and don't leave it unresolved like so many other things. Iggy - have no words. Yes, Martin, leave the idiot. Floyd - This storyline is too late; should have been explored in earlier seasons. Guess Lauren has finally come to her senses but this is another non-sensical plotline.
  3. Disappointing that Max could never thwart Veronica but now--after Max's listens and treats a few of the workers, which encourages them to "fight their oppressor",--the (lackey) essential workers usurp Veronica who caves and leaves🙄. For this torturous, long, villainous "Veronica arc" to have drug on as long as it has, this was a rather lackluster and unsatisfying ending to her demise, imo. I would have much rather seen Max and the other doctors take her down. The remainder of this episode was just discombobulated from Helen to Floyd Bloom and Iggy. It seems the writers have definitely and certainly lost their way this season, imho. There are now throwing too many obstacles and twists for the characters when the show will end with an abbreviated S5. There is no way in hell they will resolve all the issues that need to be resolved. Without spoiling too much for those who maybe have not read what the showrunner has said about E20-21, there will be more obstacles, challenges, heartbreak & heartache for Sharpwin. Why the writers/showrunner decided too ruin a once brilliant show is beyond me. Since they have, it is best it end with S5 (although 13 episodes are a real disservice to the fans).
  4. Serwa flashback/"dream sequence" - will this provide a 2nd chance opportunity with Helen to finally discuss and resolve Helen's childhood trauma? Fairly obvious the brother was an alcoholic but seriously, an ectopic liver😲🙄 Iggy is of no help to anyone (cancer patient) and his "breakup" with Trevor was clumsily and badly done, BUT THANK GOODNESS, IT'S OVER. Why does Max continually show his hand to /Veronica? Once again, I'm disappointed that Max has not one-upped her. I am so tired and just completely done with this Veronica arc. FINISH IT ALREADY!!!
  5. Agreed - a bit better episode and glad to see (next week's episode) that Helen is somewhat back to "normal" e.g., speech has returned. I was already tired of "how long will the writers drag out this storyline? I actually like Juliet (the little psychopath); she's a good actor and her storylines are interesting. Too bad Iggy helps no one but obviously, Juliet's "problem" with the boyfriend was the catalyst and parallel issue for Iggy to finally seek a therapist (acknowledging his faults). I think they may be doing the back-to-back episode due to the 2 hiatus (Olympics and then that 6-week show). There are probably 5-6 episodes remaining in S4 which probably ends around May 24.
  6. Ikr! The devil's handmaiden should have been gone episodes ago (or never been at NA in the first place). I hope Max takes her down once and fall in next week's episode. Enough already!
  7. I enjoyed reading your comments. I've heard comparisons to Blacklist (which I've not watched), although I watched Blacklist Redemption only because I watch Ryan Eggold in New Amsterdam. So, I was curious of his role in Blacklist: Redemption (I hated they left that on a cliffhanger!). As you both stated, I love the two female leads whose banter and intellect I appreciate (and Elena's clothes). I don't want too become too invested as we know NBC (and other networks) will cancel shows without giving them a real chance. I hope it is renewed for a S2.
  8. Cade's dad - I mean, haven't we been down this road too many times before with obnoxious, arrogant, self-important, narcissistic doctors. This is tired (and he's on some type of drug (per the previews); we've seen that before on this show and other medical shows. I swear, the writers are all exchanging ideas (or stealing storylines they think they fans have forgotten) THIS ^^ all so true--especially about Dr. Eyebrows (Cade). She talked about why she didn't want to forge relationships, get close to anyone and yet they all bonded like she'd been there since S1😂. I feel/see zero chemistry between Conrad & Cade. I wish the writers wouldn't force these type of relationships.
  9. Devon & Leela - not surprising & saw that coming; AJ and Padma - just no This show has gone off the rails. Remember back in S1-3 when everyone was fighting against the common villainous, antagonist Bell, or Big Pharma, Quo Vadis? Now it's just a soap opera with no interesting cases. HODAD--who all has been forgotten and forgiven--has become so altruistic, it sickening. Dr. Eyebrows🤣🤣
  10. His drunk friend mentioned that they were almost in a wreck. Because he was driving erratically, Casey got out (and then got mugged). Yeah, I mentioned that tired, worn-out trope last week (not on this board) because these are lazy writers this season.
  11. No question that Freema an d Ryan are outstanding actors. That said - what an emotionally devastating and heart-wrenching episode. Seemed like nothing but a crisis episode--Helen, Casey, Wilder & Mia in crisis. Could we have just a little more drama and angst🙄😬😉 So, this is the season of "more joy"😲😤😏☹️. The proposal--while heartfelt, happy and a long time coming--was disappointing and bittersweet for me. Can we throw a few more obstacles and struggles in their way? Now, to go through multiple recovery episodes (per the showrunner, it could be weeks, months or years) for Helen to regain her speech/motor functions (was this a TIA?) is so sad and terrifying for Max who'd gone thought heartbreak/heartache with Georgia & Luna. For some strange reason, the writers--it seems--don't want them to be happy. Was this supposed to be their "big talk" about having children? With Max stating, "yes, I want to have a baby with you"--not knowing the outcome at that moment--was crushing. And then all the suspense as to whether or not she would have to have a hysterotomy and even if she *could* have a baby after all this--geesh! I'm a Sharpwin fan but enough is enough! Can we not just have these two be happy without all these trials and tribulations. Didn't need to see Lyn and no amount of justification makes this right (storyline arc with Floyd). It would have been best for her to terminate the pregnancy and she & Claude move to Colorado (OR for her NOT to have been pregnant at all). SIDE NOTE: I don't want to see Mia and Floyd as a couple Didn't care about Iggy as he got exactly what he deserved--and how dare he say he didn't even know Trevor's last name! Trevor is his assistant; you darn well know his name😉 Almost seemed a bit hypocritical and disingenuous of Leyla to ask for money when that caused their initial breakup😕 Good to see Karen back but, somehow, it seemed a bit bizarre she'd just show up? Also, happy to see that everyone else survived the attack, i.e., Bloom & Leyla saving Casey, Wilder confronting the bartender and returning to the "pride" of being a doctor, and Helen actually being the one--even in her unconsciousness--to save everyone and to figure out what they had been drugged with even though she suffered the most catastrophic result from it. All I can say is that since we know S5 will be the last, and an abbreviated one at that, that the writers clean up this mess they've made--and continue to make. They'll have all summer to think about how to "right the wrongs" they've done to these characters and give fans a happy, or somewhat satisfied ending, they deserve.
  12. Agree on the long break I understand with the Olympics but didn't know this next break is the "winter" hiatus? It's ridiculous. I see they did not rid themselves of Veronica I don't understand that or why Floyd is running the Urgent Care facility? This show is supposed to be about Max & New Amsterdam - how is this relevant (other than those who were laid off have a job--good to see them) and agree about Claude still not finding a job with his credentials. Thank you posters - I'm so glad I wasn't the only one embarrassed by the phone sex at the end. It seemed too stilted and yes, definitely sounded like something from fanfic but unfortunately, a bad fanfic. Again, this is TV - show don't tell us what you'd done on the patio🙄 I'm not certain if I want to stick around for the April 19th episode. Sharpwin had a huge unresolved fight but now he wants to propose? Has Serwa been forgotten? Yes, why is Lyn returning? Has she had the baby or miscarry? But right, who cares.
  13. I'm on the brink of no longer watching and I really hate that. I loved this show but it's getting ridiculous. Tonight's episode had a couple surprises but overall a bit lackluster. Seriously, Reynolds? Unsure what he's up to but I don't believe he's that ruthless or heartless. I realize quoting Invictus is his ritual prior to surgery but there's more to this story and who knows what's forthcoming. Maybe Max and Floyd had a discussion (off screen, naturally) and this is yet another ploy to rid them of Veronica? I mean they already destroyed his character with Lyn but there is definitely something else going on here. And BTW, have we seen the last of Lyn, Claude & Floyd? That was a rather odd send off! Not a huge surprise with Helen convincing Max to stay. I think most of us saw that coming. But they (Sharpwin) knew Veronica would dismantle every program that had been implemented by Sharpwin so it was obvious--after they returned to see all the "drastic" changes--that Max would stay. And weren't they supposed to be getting into this type of "trouble" before they left for London? So next week, Max is finally showing some backbone and fortitude (has he gotten his mojo back?). Again, Sharpwin said they had 5-6 weeks to get into trouble before departing for London but it never came to fruition. So now, bad-ass Max is back and we'll have to wait several weeks until after the Olympics to discover just what truly happens. Hopefully there will be a time jump or something.
  14. No, you are not alone on this. Other posters on this board and elsewhere have commented on the exact same thing. Hell, I've been screaming this since S4, E1!! Why the writers felt they needed to rush this London arc is beyond me. I totally agree that they should have taken time to develop the relationship. Helen and Max may truly love each other but they are poor communicators--and we know all the reasons why. But it was disingenuous for the writers to move this quickly with their relationship and NOW, have all these ugly "problems" rear their head. Makes zero sense. I'm not sure if this season can be redeemed but they (writers/showrunner) better turn it around quickly or ratings will drop and they'll lose fans. At this rate, S5 needs to be the last--unless they can return to the formula that made it a great & successful show initially.
  15. I wholeheartedly agree with everything you sad--especially your first paragraph. I have wondered the same thing since E1 - are the writers trying to lose fans and drop ratings? They have done such a disservice to the characters this season, it's shameful. Helen, Floyd, even Max. And these are the 3 main characters of NA. Like you, I don't know if I will watch S5 if continues down this road. Can it be saved? Only time will tell and as I stated, I am so disappointed, I don't have the words any more. and not only that but she was never held accountable for the bribe to get Leyla into the program . Has that been forgotten??
  16. I am so disappointed with this season, words can't describe it. First (and once again), very brief intimate scenes with Sharpwin. Secondly, Helen was rude and disrespectful to her mum. I understand there's a lot of baggage and tense issues to unpack but you don't have those kind of conversations in a restaurant. And then to leave Max basically, literally standing there holding the bag--of flowers🤪😲. My biggest problem is exactly this issue I have been talking about since E1. Helen never discussed her family issues, especially her dad and what she discovered, with Max. Max had every right to be upset, angry, hurt and confused. And for Helen to finally admit and acknowledge she "doesn't know what she wants" and for him to ask "is that your family or me" was exactly on point. Iggy is confusing - exactly what did he "set straight" with Trevor? It appeared to me that Iggy was almost encouraging him to continue to flirt with him--even though Iggy said he'd been (happily?) married for 15 years. As most fans presumed, it was obviously Kapoor who died. So, with Sharpwin's unsettled/unresolved *argument* still hanging in the balance, will it cause them, or Max, to reassess about returning to NA? And will Helen realize that NA is her family, with Max of course. Hopefully, there'll be a time jump in the next few weeks or prior to the the Olympics break and they'll return for good--or not🤔🤞 However, next weeks promo/episode looks like a hot mess. I'm sure they've taken some of those scenes out of context but it doesn't look promising. I don't need all this angst and unnecessary drama. This is not the show I signed up to watch🙄😢😢
  17. First, I've noticed that this board is becoming "light" on commentary. I guess everyone is feeling about the same with the direction of S4. What a shame as this show used to be so good. As other have mentioned, this episode was very lackluster, imo. I think it's ridiculous that Max has been relegated to a "back alley" doctor to his patients (cabbies). It makes zero sense that no hospital in London will hire him and he has to resort to this just to practice medicine? What is wrong with these writers (rhetorical). Is this the Max "challenge" and fish-out-of-water story they want to pursue? Helen - for me, showed her indecisiveness. Just last week, she'd lost funding (and fired Max in the process) and now she can hire THREE doctors? And who exactly is second in command? Iggy - yeah, like he's really going to be able to train the entire NYPD? Iggy is NOT Max but I guess he's trying to be "Max-like/lite" with this option. The PTSD officer should have been put on leave until her issues were resolved/under control. Bloom - guess she'll try to track down Leyla; that's more trouble brewing. Evidently, Leyla didn't want Lauren to know where she is. Floyd - how ridiculous again. He now has an epiphany--that he didn't realize sooner--after looking at the wedding album and seeing Lyn/Claude in their "younger" life? That's a pathetic way to end this storyline. And with this "revelation", please don't twist up this ending by somehow this being discovered it's Floyd's baby. I think the showrunner and writers have heard enough from the fans to end this debacle of a relationship and maybe, have finally listened. I don't know why Dr. Wilder would trust Mia--a Veronica hire. Wilder doesn't even know Mia so why would she bring her into the "insurrection" fold?? Further, to have Willow see Mia really didn't made no sense. Wilder has implemented unconventional ideas (Max-like, again) so why not for Willow? Is Mia a plant for Fuentes? Next weeks previews/promos - I think it may be Casey, which is a shame since they (showrunner/producers) stated he would be returning. I don't want him to return if he's going to be killed off/die. Possibly could be Kapoor but they haven't mentioned him in some time. After the "going-away" party they had for him, Kapoor said he wouldn't be returning. So it has to be one of the main characters the doctors interacted with closely. This will, initially, return Sharpwin to NA.
  18. As much as I'm appreciative of the very brief fun & barely intimate Sharpwin moments, it's negated by the Veronica/NAH storyline dilemma, Flyn (I simply don't care & yeah, all 3 are pathetic) and Iggy acting as if he's is junior high, i.e., assistant ingratiating himself to Iggy. This is just a nonsensical and ridiculous storyline. While I like, value, respect and recognize Dr. Wilder's defiance of Veronica, she should not be the protagonist to Veronica for NAH--or surrogate "leader" to Reynolds, Frome & Bloom--that should be Max. Speaking of Max, I did feel he was his typical charming self (as usual)--convincing the cancer patients to at least give him a chance. These asinine arcs, e.g., London, Veronica & Flyn, are detrimental to the the S4 direction. I'm uncertain how much longer I may be watching. This mini-spinoff (Sharpwin in London) was unnecessary, imo, and just isn't working for me.
  19. Bloom still hasn't been held accountable ad no surprise that Leyla would be upset--this has been foreshadowed for some time. We already have an untenable situation with "Flyn" & Claude--and now to introduce this stupid pregnancy trope. I believe most fans wanted this dysfunctional relationship to end and now we'll have to deal with this nonsense. I'm certain it is Claude's child which will make Reynold "stop to think" do I want this with another woman and her husband? BTW Lyn is in OB-GYN - how could she really get pregnant? Was this another ploy on her part to force the hand of Claude or Floyd?? Really, who cares🙄 We don't need another triangle( with Iggy). Why didn't he just say he was happily married and not interested? The new admin would have to be professional and they would have a STRICLY professional relationship? Another stupid storyline and why??! We knew Max was going to London because it had been telegraphed by the showrunner for months so no surprise Max left. I'd hoped Helen would change her mind and decide to stay as there's really no reason for her to go to London--unless they address her familial issues. But these writers seem to have amnesia with prior episodes and what they wrote. Sounds like Max will be working in London (as soon as he gets his license) but the showrunner also stated (TV Line article) "there will be obstacles/challenges". Haven't they faced enough of that already in the fist half of this season--which has divided fans? Sadly, looks like we'll have to trudge through the 2nd half of S4 with more Sharpwin angst putting me on yet another emotional roller-coaster ride - "more joy" indeed😤🙄
  20. The hiatus is forthcoming around 1st of December. I've also read where there will be a 6-weekk hiatus after the first of the year due to the Olympics and other events. I can only hope the scriptwriters will think about the S4 direction and do a course correction for the 2nd half of the season. They've really damaged and destroyed Sharpwin and this entire season for me. As far as "more joy" - I think that was evidently a misnomer or sarcasm.
  21. So, finally this week, we got to see the resolute and intrepid Max we know & love at least temporarily outwit ICE to come up with a reasonable "how can I help" solution for the undocumented. Was no surprise the weak board members would renege on Karen and side with the devil's handmaiden. Obviously, Karen doesn't know the volatile, uncaring, fearless smug "fixer" Veronica as well as she thought. That Evan guy has always been cowardly and ineffectual not to mention a snake, traitor and untrustworthy as seen from previous episodes. I hate to beat this horse to death but what was the point of badass Sharpwin talking about "let's get into trouble over the next 6 weeks" when sadly, it seems they've only failed and lost everything. It's hard to believe they'll proceed to go to London with this mess, BUT we know that they are. Again, I only hope it is a very short-lived relocation.
  22. ALL OF THIS ^^ I thought the exact thing thing as I watched this episode and preview for next week. I think Karen may, indeed, be the interim Med Dir IF they actually fire Fuentes (good riddance). I too, believe, she was responsible for the ransomware as another poster mentioned. It was all too coincidental and "timed" perfectly. Hoping Casey & Dr. Kao return and that was just for dramatic effect. I know fans have been begging for Casey to be a regular rather than recurring character. Guess time will tell. I hadn't heard anything about him leaving the show; guess I better research that! And yeah, Lauren should have had her comeuppance a while ago. Glad Casey put her in her place. Not the most exciting episode. Ransomware story has been done on 2 other medical shows (Chicago Med, S2 & the Resident, S5 premiere)
  23. Max should have known Fuentes wouldn't be forthright and couldn't be trusted. I wish he had not signed until AFTER HC paid. I truly believe Fuentes was responsible and/or had somethi9ng to do wit the ransomware attack. I hope Casey and Dr. Kao will return. Floyd & Claude bonding as buddies 😂🙄😉 Since Claude is now one, does that leave clear path for Flyn--I hope not🤢🥵 Poor Helen & Max - both trying to reassure each other that everything's going to be OK 💔 Previews for E9 next week - will they truly fire Fuentes? Has she done something so despicable that it will finally be her swan song? She needs to go, NOW
  24. Yes - it was done on Chicago Med in Season 2 (Dr. Latham paid) and on The Resident on the S5 premiere (Devon had a black-hat IT extraordinaire college friend who hacked the hackers). At least there was resolution to both of those whereas this was left "open". I still believe Fuentes was responsible and/or had something to do with it
  25. Iggy - pathetic, shouldn't be a psychiatrist and needs to see a therapist himself Lauren - no repercussion (yet) and actually, was given an "out" by Fuentes Flyn/Baptiste - Hope this trainwreck is finally over. Almost seemed like Lyn & her husband just wanted attention from each other🙄 Hated Helen having to beg Fuentes for funding when we know Fuentes has deleterious motives. She is no one's friend, can't be trusted and you don't want to be indebted to her in any way I wanted Max to go full "chemo" Max on Fuentes but at least he did present an alternative. I'm still waiting on that "trouble" Sharpwin was going to get into. It seems that fallen by the wayside and Fuentes has the upper hand with ALL of them. Fuentes - writers don't seem to know what to do with her - be the cold, uncaring witch other times, try to show her with decency. Based on next week's eppy, they're writing themselves into a corner. We know all the doctors can't be fired. Sharpwin for me, too little time. I wish there had been more of the BTS photos in the actual episode. The sweet/happy moment - Helen is now Luna's "mum". BUT - one minute, Max says that they haven't been together long and have a lot to talk about. By the end of the episode, Luna's calling Helen mum (I swear the writers are reading IG and fanfics🤣. In E1, Helen said they were leaving in 6 weeks, so that seems a little soon to explain to Luna about her mother--who she's never known--and for Luna to start calling Helen mum (why not continue to call her "Hewen" for now?). So even though it was a sweet, touching gesture, it seemed the writers rushed this and yet don't take time with other things. I think they just wanted to throw a bone to Sharpwin fans to end this episode on a happy note.
