  1. IMO, the show continues its downward spiral; it's like watching a slow trainwreck!. It was so riveting last night, I fell asleep so, I'll try to catch up later. What little I did see: I simply can't stomach the Bekker/Rhodes relationship and yeah, they're trying to make it palatable but have failed. I like your quote statsgirl, "The strings of the puppeteer are as obvious as her salon/shampoo commercial hair style". Their relationship just doesn't work so end it now before it becomes unbearable to watch. Choi and Manning attempting to deliver the baby--ludicrous with all the risks involved. Did we really have to revisit the homeless storyline? Can they think of no other interesting stories to weave into the hospital setting and lives of the doctors? Glad there weren't too many spoilers in the comments as I want to see how they handled the pedophile, Maggie/Sharon lawsuit against the hospital and Reese's dad with the bizarre interaction of Dr. Charles.
  2. Yep - I picked up on that too. Honestly, if we were to scrutinize all the bad grammar and sentence structure on TV, we'd be discussing it for years!! As much as I hear, a "me and my friend", "me and her" or anything closing resembling that, my tv screen would be broken by now (throwing things at it). It's on every show including precious Shondaland's series. I understand that one of the Scandal cast members actually corrected her on a grammatically incorrect sentence and Shonda said, "this is what you say" so the actor said it (she might have gotten fired--you don't cross Shonda!)
  3. LOL on the robots and yes, so true - just very wooden, unenthusiastic and passionless. Just no to them, anyway!!
  4. I was right there with you; I kept thinking, please, just don't do it" but of course, they've been building this "tension" and "union" since Bekker joined. I would have rather they develop Rhodes relationship with the woman Fed from the previous week's episode. She seemed much more interesting! Just no with Rhodes and Bekker and, imo, there's no chemistry between them. All the storylines/plotlines are just becoming too non-sensical, predictable and a bit boring. Reese definitely doesn't need to be in psychiatry and you just knew her father wasn't going to be the loving father as portrayed initially. At least Noah and Reese weren't "together" and please, Choi and April playing underwear paintball/laser tag--whatever--just no real spark of fun or any sexual undertones Zero chemistry there, too. Sadly, stick a fork in it; I'm done! Yeah, guess they don't want to write an interesting and plausible storyline about Maggie. She's obstinate/stubborn without a reason to be so. The entire season has gone downhill, and I don't believe I can watch it anymore *sigh* Natalie (super doctor) - just no words for her!
  5. I never understood why she went into psychiatry. It seemed she was pressured into it by Dr. Charles and it definitely doesn't suit her. Maybe it's the eway they developed her--at first, she seemed to be the golden girl and now mistakes galore. Make up your mind, writers!!!!
  6. I didn't know anything about Mekkia Cox being on another show (until this board) but as soon as they introduced Ava, I could clearly see where the storyline was going; no surprise at all. And yeah, Connor really didn't know what type of car it was? Seriously?!! Just, ooohhh, it looks "manly" or whatever? As soon as it panned to the car front, I knew exactly what it was. So, with saving the fireman who "still have my life", that's what made Connor realize it was time to let Robyn go? And you forget your girlfriend, with a new car, and move on after he'd just said "I'm not giving up because I love your daughter"? Ava's snarky remark at the beginning--when he asked her to cover--was uncalled for. But I said it last week when they showed the previews for the coming week - the fact that Ava said, "Dr. Rhodes made the right call" and he looked at her, you could see it coming from miles. So yep, they'll now zip around in his new Porsche! I don't even want to talk about Manstead except to say, I agree with another poster. Why is Halstead sneaking out? The baby has no idea who he is!! Maggie will get together with Barry; Reese back with Dr. Charles. Choi/April will reach out to his sister or was that just a one-time mention and will be forgotten. Speaking of being forgotten - I'm not sure what the purpose was to bring back Bert and girlfriend. He's crying uncontrollably over someone he knew for 2-3 months and yet left his wife after 30-40 years without so much of a "see ya"? And the gf tells lthe ex to "be there for Bert? Pul-leeze, give me a break. The writing is going downhill faster than you can say "Incoming"!!
  7. You're right; I've seen too many shows that have a strong lead in but the writing quality is abysmal. Sometimes, people are too lazy to turn the channel! BTW, I don't watch the other Chicago's. I thought Legal may have been interesting but it died a quick death!
  8. I think as long as Robyn receives the proper treatment, I'm OK with that. But just going off to "heal"--exactly what does that mean? Is she checking into a better facility to get the help she needs or is she going to try to work it out herself, to feel like a person again? Was she truly going to visit her mother?? Just how long will Rhodes try to find her? If they wanted to write her off or end the relationship, just transfer her to another hospital which would still potentially leave the door open for her return. But agree, that mental illness was taken above and beyond reason. But not telling him she was leaving, to me, was wrong. I understand Rhodes need to the White Horse Prince since couldn't save his mother (and yeah, his father's an a$$) so Connor wants to help/save this woman in his life. BTW, previews for next weeks' episode appears to be business as usual (and I realize that's his job) but that annoying dr. has returned. Looks as if she's supporting him in whatever the operating decision is so that may be a "turning point" for them? (double yuk) Natalie did seem a bit hell-bent on and judgmental in wanting to tell the woman she'd been sterilized. I don't believe that was her place at all but yeah, it's TV. April didn't seem to agree but came around at the end. Does no one have any backbone? Reese is a hot mess. Will she turn to Dr. Charles or into the arms of Noah, since they've both made an error in judgment--the old misery loves company? I, too, hope Reese gets the proper help, I'm not sure where the storyline is going with Goodwin/Maggie ingratiating themselves with the paramedics and pizza?? Someone help me understand that! As mentioned in the previous episode thread, I thoroughly enjoyed S1; however, this season is on life support. If they don't make some serious changes to the storylines and characters, it will be DOA sooner rather than later.
  9. I know I'm echoing some of the sentiments of others but my two cents anyway. I don't know if this show can be resuscitated as it's struggling on life support. The storylines and characters have become more ridiculous and asinine each week. Manstead acting like a couple of horny teenagers; it wasn't romantic, sexy, flirty fun or sensual how they acted (car and hospital room); just crass. Maybe the writers were going with some comic relief which imo, wasn't even remotely funny and failed miserably. They have zero chemistry! Agree that Goodwin violated the HIPPA laws even if they patients died years ago. It would have been more appreciate if she had just talked about patients who she'd lost and what a waste of life that was instead of the details she provided to the HIV patient. Reese with her security phobia and PTSD is underwhelming; she's a psychiatrist but doesn't recognize her own symptoms, is in denial and won't speak with anyone--even Dr. Charles who has his own doubts but at least came to his senses (with Goodwin's help). Further, just no to the "Roah" relationship, e.g., Reese and Noah!). Choi and April - just stop the madness...and speaking of madness, why would you have a brilliant doctor like Robyn fall into this downward spiral? I mean, I understand her illness but either move on or write her off--as they did with Natalie's ex--and ship her off to another hospital. I hate her psychotic and erratic behavior; it's disappointing to the character. I'm sure this will open the door for Rhodes and the S. African dr. (whose name I can't even recall which shows how much of an interest I have in that relationship "blooming"). I loved S1 but it's becoming increasingly difficult to watch this trainwreck! I want to love this show again but if things don't change quickly, it's DOA. *sigh*
  10. I still think the plan is for Becker to end up being Connor's lover interest--something I'm not relishing to see at all. I also thought Connor and Natalie were going to be an item from the first season but I did like Jeff and Natalie together. Too bad she didn't go to Hawaii with him. I abhor Will and Nat together; there's zero chemistry between them. April and Choi - forget it. I want his old military gf back as well! I think they pushed Reese into psychiatry too fast. I thought she was much better working in the ER/ED and she and her boyfriend (lab boy) seemed like a cute couple. Not feeling Reese and Noah either. The showrunner and writers are beginning to turn this once hopeful, encouraging, capable show into a debacle of epic and unnecessary proportions *sigh*
  11. You've succinctly stated everything I now feel about the show and characters (which I echoed briefly in my response). I, too, have watched since the pilot and felt the show had such promise. I don't know if they've changed writers or showrunners but I hate to see this show experience some of the character assassinations I've seen on others with tired trope and uninteresting storylines. Let's hope they can get back on track and not derail.
  12. Actually, I had forgotten the show restarted! I realized this past weekend the new season started around Thanksgiving, so I binge-watched (something I typically never do) to catch up. What a disappointment this show has become. Obviously, we're all brilliant in hindsight but this show is beginning/has gone off the rails. S1, by far, was the best season--maybe because it was new and fresh with a nice set of actors that you don't see often. I wonder just how psychotic they'll make Robyn as I do like Connor/Robyn together. I didn't realize she was on another show (as some have mentioned) so clearly, they're writing her exit. I don't care for the new doctor (Becker) and I stated at the end of last season when she came on board that it would be Connor's new love interest. The plotlines and love interests have already gotten stale and some should have never materialized, e.g., Ethan/April and Halstead and Manning, imo. The acting doesn't seem as sharp and crisp, and the storylines have gotten ridiculous. I'll try to give it a few more episodes but I'm dangerously close to calling it quits on a once promising show.
  13. If this article is to be believed (Dec. 2016 which many of you may have already seen), appears the writing may be on the wall for Dr. Charles. Unsure how much truth is evident but time will tell; it may be a long summer before confirmation. http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/chicago-med-major-character-wont-back-season-three/
  14. I didn't articulate that very well regarding the "new" South African doc. What I was trying to say was that I felt Halstead perceived Rhodes in that "smug, know it all way (just envious) so hope I provided some clarity there. I didn't think Dr. Rhodes every displayed that attitude; just thought maybe they were trying to parallel her with the (wrongly) perception that Halstead had of Rhodes. I don't know that Latham will support her over Rhodes; he (Latham) may just be in for a rude awakening about his "protege", at least I certainly hope so. However, I guess the writers have done their job; at this juncture, everyone seems to hate her, lol!!
  15. Couldn't agree more. TPTB have their vision and it doesn't matter what anyone else says or thinks--sadly to the detriment of the fans. I've watched too many beloved shows jump the shark after a promising beginning. I hope Chicago Med isn't one of them but they're starting down that perilously close road of no return. Haven't watched the other Chicago franchise shows and stopped watching Grey's and Scandal some time ago (never got into the Blacklist although I heard it was extremely good the first few seasons).
  16. First, I'm happy to have found this forum. I have watched Chicago Med since its inception and thoroughly enjoyed S1. However, in a word, this entire season was predictable regarding relationships. These character transformations are not endearing to me and make absolutely no sense. Why do the showrunners/writers feel they have to have the primary characters be the love interest? I am not a fan of Manstead as he seems like a schoolboy with a crush/infatuation for the pretty popular girl even though Manning made it clear, initially, they were just friends. Now, suddenly, she has feelings for him too–the longing and envious/jealous looks towards Nina – puleeze!! There is zero chemistry with Manstead but the writers are pushing it for some unknown reason. I liked Jeff and Manning together and that sizzling undercurrent of sexual chemistry. Unfortunately, appears he’s been written out of the show. With the intro of the new smug, egotistical, competitive and smarter-than-anyone else South African fellow (is she supposed to epitomize how Rhodes was, at the onset,–or the perception Halstead had?)–you can already imagine this will drive a wedge between Rhodes and Robyn and somehow those two will end up together. I don’t understand this new budding relationship between Choi and April (again, liked Choi with the dr. from the VA hospital) nor Reese and Noah; it really doesn’t make sense. This show has become more of a soap opera than how it started–intelligently written, interesting somewhat believable storylines with nuanced and complex characters. And who didn’t see the ending with the psycho shooting Dr. Charles? Why return to that particular plot line? Why doesn’t Maggie have a love interest? What about Goodwin; what’s going on in her life besides work? This is the only Chicago franchise I tuned in to watch. S1 was fantastic (maybe because it was new); however, if S3, for me, continues in this downward spiral, I may become a former fan.
