  1. THIS ^^ which is why I've become disappointed and frustrated with this show and others. It's the same recycled storylines I've seen on other shows. I've even heard exact lines from other shows being said🙄. I want intelligently written dialogue, intriguing storylines, etc,. but I'm starting to feel all I'm getting is regurgitated stories from other, older shows.
  2. So Jessica lives to fight another day. I'm sure this will be the catalyst for Irving to propose. Yeah, I don't know what Nic's father is up to but it's not just altruistic--working in the hospital. Just happy Connic seem to be on solid footing with no drama, for the moment. Cain - you knew he was replacing Bell as the big, baddie, arrogant but brilliant doctor. They're making it too easy to despise him and his new sidekick, CEO of Redrock. I though Cain might have called out Mena (in surgery) as he did with Conrad but clearly, he wants Conrad gone. Cain doesn't want anyone challenging or questioning him and will do whatever's necessary to stay top dog. Conrad's not going anywhere. Still loving the dynamic between Raptor and Mena. I figured Raptor and Cain would have come to a head but yeah, Raptor and Conrad have become collaborative partners and good friends.
  3. The title of this episode alone is telling: I Can't Imagine the Future. Truer words were never spoken. I can't imagine this show will have a future if it continues down this trite and ridiculous path, especially with these last 3-4 episodes. I'm late again to the party and most has been said which I agree: CeCe - looks like this is her swan song. Sorry, but talk about staying at the party too long. This storyline in no way made up for the departure of Connor--if that's what the writers were trying to do. Chexel (Choi/Sexton/Marcel) - I've begged for several episodes not to go there but yeah, the predictable seems to have won out. Marcel certainly didn't look like he was "into" that kiss from her; he looked more annoyed and very non-committal, LOL. It's just ludicrous to venture into this ridiculous triangle and April afraid/apprehensive to say anything to Ethan, the man she loves, about early menopause/IVF? I've already talked about this ad nauseum previously, so my only words: just plain stupid and despise this story arc Manstead - Finally, Will has moved on but I'm sure the WTWT will eventually come back into play. Just let these two move on. The rest - Of course the DS kid should have had the less invasive "safe" surgery but you knew Abrams would save the day with the riskier surgery and all is well. Maggie/Ben - Give me a break; talk about unimaginative, cliched and just stale - a miraculous recovery--all due to Maggie, I'm sure, with her loving touch and supporting words. Kidney transplant patients - tough call and I was a bit torn but agreed with Marcel although understood Choi's point. But, yeah, it was already a "done deal" with the permission so you had to go with that option as painful as it was. Bright spot - Dr. Latham and mention of "what would Connor do" Glad to see him albeit briefly! Relieved the Fall/Winter Finale is here; I couldn't take another episode this year--maybe not even next year!!! Happy Holidays to all! Agreed - have said that for some time (and I'm not even on social media!) but I definitely think they are reading forums/fan boards because strangely, things do seem to happen at our suggestions😉
  4. Well, I was trying to be kind and didn't want to say they'd all become a trainwreck, LOL It's sad as New Amsterdam is only in the 2nd season and I'm about through with it. I've been disappointed with Chicago Med for several seasons and now that Colin (and essentially the Dr. Latham character) is gone, not much reason to really watch. The Resident - not happy with this season or the last almost 2 seasons. It's too bad, imo, as they started out with good writing and I had hope. My hope has been dashed.
  5. I remember that; however, it was not a "cure-all". As a matter of fact, he was getting the pills from another doctor who warned him about taking them and that this wasn't the answer. Just seems like that part of the storyline has been forgotten as well.
  6. THIS! I've wondered the same thing; it's almost like S1 never happened! It's shameful as it had such promise; this season has been pretty meh for me.
  7. Yes - it seems all the medical shows I watch (The Resident, Chicago Med and this one) have some type of malaise this season; they've been a huge disappointment. You really have to suspend belief and reality at some of the things that occur!
  8. Hallelujah - 8 episodes in and finally, no more Georgia! She was in S2 more than she ever was for S1, lol! Rather obvious the epiphany Matt would have talking with the mother who lost her baby. I'm glad that arc has ended so Matt can move on, hopefully, in a healthy way. Helen's storyline didn't make any sense and have to agree with another poster. No warrant, no real probable cause, etc., just show up and arrest her. Ella & Dr. Kapoor - what did I miss? She and Kapoor's son obviously had a relationship and then he just leaves (saw that episode). It seemed as if Kapoor and his son made amends; I would have like to have seen that develop. Didn't realize Kapoor son and Ella were that close; just another artificial storyline that didn't have to be. Initially, I though Dr. Kapoor and Ella would have gotten together; shows how wrong I was. Iggy and Martin - I'm tired of this already Lastly, definitely don't want Reynolds and Look back together.
  9. If it hadn't been mentioned (and brief glance at the banner), I wouldn't have known it was Nurses Day! Other than that - Glad to see Conrad's dad make an appearance. Quid pro quo with the CEO??--reminiscent of real life at the moment, lol!! Enough about Jessie - storyline should have died with her Could do without Irving and Jessica Devon & Conrad - just get this over with and end this tension between them. It's fine to have professional difference but do we have to have a challenge on everything. Actually, happy that Raptor's birth mother is an honorable, accomplished, kind, and sane woman--at least for now, lol! Her explanation was plausible and realistic; you could imagine the hurt/pain she felt wondering if every child might be he. Great scene and good acting on both parts. Cain/Bell/Kit - Strange the patient didn't seem "bothered" that his surgery, by Cain, was won in a poker game. But beyond that, I'm not sure where this dynamic is going between Cain and Kit and no, I'm not looking for a hook-up between them or triangle with Bell. A poster mentioned Cain's moral compass; isn't that exactly what Bell was like in the initial seasons, e.g., arrogant but brilliant? I haven't quite figured out why they've changed Bell's HODAD and unscrupulous character so much from the initial season through the Quo Vadis debacle--of which he escaped any scrutiny once again. I keep thinking or waiting that the shoe will drop but seems like he's turned over a new leaf and they continue to bring other antagonists to the show.
  10. Chicago Med is making it extremely easy for me to stop watching. As I've posted since Eppy 2, it's fairly clear the focus will be Manstead and Chexton--now Chexel (Choi, Sexton & Marcel). Inconsequential and unsuccessful episode if the writers felt I'd feel sorry for any of these folks. Didn't most on this board said Noah would get his ass whupped? No surprise at all except he didn't die. He hasn't been on the show for, what 2 seasons at least, and now they bring him back?! The story wasn't interesting--just predictable. Hope this is the end of that storyline. So, guess that's the set up for Chexel😞. Can the writers be more obvious with this triangle which I already hate. Ms. Passive-Aggressive April--dismissive of Marcel then supports him when Noah takes a worse turn. Again, as mentioned previously, I think April will now get pregnant and won't know who the father is--yeah, she'll sleep with Marcel in a "moment of weakness, gratefulness" for saving Noah's life, etc.,--some artificial, fabricated, non-nonsensical reason. And the confused look from Choi. He didn't see the almost kiss in the previous episode and there's no reason for him to feel jealous--at this point--but he sees Marcel looking "lovingly/longingly" at April and feels this twang of "hmm, something's going on?" PUH-LEEZE. I'm still undecided on Marcel--one minutes I like his approach and mannerism but then dislike where they're taking his character with April. Choi should have stayed with Vicky and April with Tate. Stick to unusual or life-threatening cases for the drama at the hospital as these love triangles are not working for me. Poor long-suffering Maggie; she's pathetic although there trying to portray her as altruistic. She has no life other than immersing herself into total stranger's lives?? First she gives a kidney to a virtual stranger. Now she sleeps with a virtual stranger and after what, 2 weeks/1 month (perhaps), he's dying and she's going to all lengths to "do the right" thing which, of course, is totally wrong. And Miss Judgmental Natalie--as if she's never done anything stupid before🙄. Then Manstead - so he's finally moved on and looks like Elsa missed her opportunity? Pitiful set up with Natalie having an epiphany (preview shown for next episode) and oh my, what will Will do?? 😩 Will psycho Phillip return to the scene?? The silly couple listening to the idiots on social media - you knew he wouldn't jump. Guess they didn't realize until then that their "friends" were only using and didn't care about them. Similar episode done on The Resident--but not quite to that degree. Sharon & Bert - seriously? Just why? and doesn't Sharon already know about Bert and his last ex (who died at Chicago Med, didn't she) and prior infidelity--isn't that why their marriage dissolved? To what is Sharon alluding to about Bert and he needs to prove himself or talk--whatever she said? WTH??!! Clearly, these writers don't know where to turn or how to write this season. Taking storylines from previous seasons and trying to bring them back, isn't working for this viewer. Fall/Winter finale couldn't have come soon enough! I think they need to wrap it up and just end after S5--don't destroy this season or series any more than they already have.
  11. Well, after a 2-week hiatus, this episode was just meh for me. It was a nice departure to finally see AJ's adoptive parents who, yes, are a bit older, wiser and understand the dilemma AJ's contemplating. The mom gave excellent advice--and I especially liked the "birthdays and holiday---and every day in between". She's a gem; Pops wasn't too bad either. Agree with other posters with the entire Mena as a godparent. I felt she made her reasons clear but the writers seems to want to push this storyline which isn't all that interesting--and could/should have ended when Mena's mom left. I'd much rather see Mena in surgery, perfecting a new surgical procedure/technique/breakthrough or even continue top develop the slow, budding fun and playful relationship between AJ and her. I, too, hope Conrad doesn't "break the glass". It's a painful dilemma he's in but just don't go there (yet--as Nic said). It appears the tension between Conrad and Devon is going to be a theme this season. It's fine to have a professional disagreement/difference of opinion but now calling ethics into it is a slippery slope; imo, we don't need this manufactured drama between them.
  12. I don't know if this episode could have gotten any more ridiculous. I'm, certainly not in a gang or know exactly how it all "works" but I do know enough to know that Noah is an idiot to have taken her home. However, it seems like next week's preview (shown) has forgotten all about this "incident". Even I know you don't mess with gang members who are initiating someone. In the "real world", it wouldn't have just dropped like that. Silly and stupid of both Noah and April. Yeah, he's going to get his a$$ kicked. Worse yet, neither of them has the acting chops to carry an episode--let alone the show--so this episode was extremely painful and excruciating to watch. The transgender "relationship" - you knew the wife would be there in the end. So trite and predictable. What's with Chexton - now moving in together and talking about marriage - UGH. And why is April so desperate to get pregnant?? Where to begin to talk about Manstead & Phillip? Silly Halstead thinking that Manning would take him back after the big reveal? I actually thought Phillip might do some harm to one or both of them but he just walked away? That just seemed off. Of course, Natalie saved the child, her job is safe, and she'll live to practice another day😲🙄. How long will it take her to put someone else in jeopardy? Seems like Dr. Marcel was right about the JW kid and Halstead, once again, was wrong and jumped to conclusions. Seemed strange that Marcel would have an open bottle in his locker--even if he is off shift. Not that they were drinking excessively, but what if a catastrophic accident occurred and they needed all hands on deck? Is Marcel a closet alcoholic?? Lastly, Maggie certainly has done a 180 after last week's episode. If it hadn't been mentioned (Natalie), would you know she's going thru chemo? Probably nothing more will be said about that either. IMO, this season is deplorable and pitiful.
  13. Glad to know I wasn't the only one that fell asleep and agree totally with your post. I did record the episode so will finish watching; however, after reading all the posts, I don't even think it's worth watching to the end.😞 And yeah, Blume/Bloom was walking quite well without the cane. Guess the PT is now out of the picture, 😄 What's happened to this once-promising show?
  14. Thanks for that quick synopsis. I remembered the kids meeting in college and the W & G make up. But evidently, I missed several episodes of the reboot which is why I was probably confused and wondered: why she was pregnant (acting as if it was her first) and what happened with the kids (presume they're still married? Was that even mentioned in the reboot?)
  15. Guess I don't have vivid memories either. I thought she and Leo had a baby as did Will with Vince? Or was that a dream sequence?
  16. Because for all his brilliant reasoning, logic and understanding, Iggy is an ignoramus
  17. Yeah, I don't know how one would audition for a role like that (totally amoral and unremorseful) but she nailed it! Great little actress but she needs to play a different character now or she'll be typecast forever!
  18. All I can say is Yep, Yep, Yep, Yep.... I'm not sure why they've dropped Helen's motherhood story. She was so determined/focused on that for pretty much all S1, had a nice guy and now that's just fizzled due to the accident/near death experience? I almost think that may have pushed her into wanting to have a child realizing how precious and short life can be. Why did she and the bf break up anyway? And I'm in the "no" camp for Max and her to get together. It was so contrived in S1 and really didn't make any sense--at least to me. They're professional colleagues and I never saw the romantic "entanglement" the writers are now trying to develop. JUST.NO. Ditto on Bloom Agree about Reynolds and I hope they don't break up and he and Bloom get back together *UGH*. I'm not sure what's going on with the medical shows this season but they're all terrible, e.g., Chicago Med, The Resident, and New Amsterdam. I used to love watching these and now, pretty meh.
  19. There are so many things wrong with this season, hopefully, it will be its last. Now, I hate to say that as I don't want people to be out of work but my goodness, what has happened to this show? Is it all new writer(s) and showrunner(s)? This show went from an A to F in as many episodes that have aired so far. Agree with so many posters thoughts: Manstead - they both should go. How many times has Natalie put someone in harm's way due to her irrational thinking and Halstead saves her? Halstead's as bad as he's had other people die on him with a slow diagnosis/slow action (Remember in S2, I think, when Halstead operated on the woman cancer patient who had a DNI/DNR and then he was sued and lost, or almost lost, his license to practice). So they are both incompetent and deserve each other! I, too, knew the guy would die before Halstead called the fiancee. This manufactured drama between Choi and Marcel - where did that come from? Is Choi afraid he's not "top dog" since Connor's gone? They've not shown any other tension between them but now, Choi seems to abhor Marcel? Jury still out on what direction they''ll take Marcel. One minute he's arrogant; next, he's kind and noble. Yes, Choi and Noah had a relationship--mostly because of April--but hell, they're not that close and Noah was MIA for what, 1 or 2 seasons?? Speaking of April, agree with others - it's blatantly obvious they'll be a "relationship" between Marcel/April ("Marpril") just when she finds out she's pregnant and doesn't know if it's Choi's or his, LOL or 🙄. I truly don't want to even think about that drama; PLEASE.DON'T.GO.THERE Too bad Dr. Latham is MIA as well. Doesn't appear he'll be making appearances anytime soon *sigh*. I thought that was quite a miss with Maggie. These are supposed to be her closest friends--especially April--and all they can do is hold her hand? What happened to a group hug? Presumed that hand-holding was the solidarity. I don't mean to be cruel or callous but guess removing the wig was supposed to be so emotional but it left me feeling unsympathetic. Maggie - woman of many words, can't "use her words" or was this a picture's worth a thousand words? Just felt the pitiful/pitying looks were a huge miss instead of her friends saying, "we got this", "we'll fight this", "we're here for you", etc. Dr. Charles - a control freak. CC - I'd rather see Robin; maybe that way we would know what's going on with Connor but then and again, that might be too painful for me. Just shows me what I no longer have. CC playing matchmaker - seriously. There's no one else int he great city of Chicago with whom they could have set up Sharon? The show is definitely lacking; the writers are grasping--on so many levels this season! These storylines are pathetic, boring and repetitive making it easier and easier, for me, not to tune in.
  20. I liked Class Action and surprised I didn't make that "connection" but yeah, now that I think of it, there are similarities. Maybe future episodes will be more distinctive. I don't like the daughter but do love JS.
  21. I'm disappointed that this show has been cancelled or again, "not ordering anymore episodes". Catering to the younger, coveted demographic (18-39 isn't it) is not always the best solution or a wise decision. I think this show needed a chance but 10 episodes in and they've decided "no more" is ludicrous. I don't think this show received the promotion as others have received; the 10 pm on Monday could also be problematic, especially if you don't watch The Voice (I've stopped watching it) or you're a Monday night football fan. Jimmy Smits is a class actor and was so happy to see him return to TV. Because this is somewhat smartly written & intelligent--guess it can't compete with the plethora of reality shows and just plain, bad soap operas that are currently on virtually every channel. Since I'm a baby boomer, my opinion clearly doesn't count. I enjoyed this show, felt it had promise and will miss it.
  22. I think that may have been decided, by Colin, after he was "fired". He was, naturally, the epitome of grace, modesty and honor with his departure (his tweets). From everything I read, he was surprised not to be returning for S5. I believe many posters here stated that his wife was on Broadway, in a play, etc., and that Colin has a wonderful singing voice. Glad he had other options due to his "abrupt departure". Still a huge mistake on the showrunner's part, imo. Chexton and now triangle "Philalie" is more than I can stomach.
  23. Great post! I fell asleep watching this but after your recap, no need for me to hurry to finish watching! I think Max hit his little head in the accident and forgot the "How can I help" to "what? help?". Max's "ideas" don't seem to be sound or logical. Sorry - didn't realize others mentioned same but yes, those kids were reminiscent of an episode either last week or the previous on Chicago Med; Dr. Charles ended up giving them a placebo (Tic-Tac) to resolve the same. I think a poster recently asked - are the writers just circulating scripts from one medical show to another? It certainly seems that way. This is only S2 and it appears the writers have strayed from the original premise.
  24. This episode (which I haven't even seen yet) sounds like "same song, second verse": "It’s not surprising that Choi can’t treat someone with chronic pain since he is oblivious to April who is a chronic pain in the ass. 😲 Dr. Manning works to help a young boy, but she is challenged by his parents - For the 3829th time.😂 Please tell me this is the episode Will asks Jay to do a background check on Natalie's boyfriend, Phillip. And the one where the new surgery dr tells her the ring wasn't on her finger when she was brought in. ... Which triggers the return of her memory, And then maybe she remembers she wanted to tell Will that she decided to give up medicine, get breast implants and go work at Hooters". You posters have it down to a science 😉 Dr. Marcel is OK but they've truly just made him a Connor clone, imo. They still could have killed off Ava but kept Connor--who would have had this same storyline they've now given to Dr. Marcel. MAKES.NO.SENSE I'm already disappointed with these episodes. I'll return later to comment on the episode.
