Tune!: Best TV Moments Involving Music
Jeebus Cripes replied to DollEyes's topic in Everything Else TV
The music on Chuck was always awesome. My favorite bit is "Sugar Assault Me Now" by Pop Levi during the pineapple scene. Just something about the use of that song with the pandemonium going on is hilarious to me. One of my favorites from Supernatural is "Silent Lucidity" by Queensryche. I couldn't give a crap about the werewolf chick Sam had to put down, but the juxtaposition of hearing a beautiful lullaby while he does it was great. Another great use of song was "Heat of the Moment" by Asia during Sam's groundhog day in Mystery Spot. That was a haunting moment with perfect music. -
^^ Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken is great! I don't think it's stupid, I mean it is based on someone's real life (if you're thinking the premise is dumb). This gem right here has to take the prize in both stupidity and it's ability to entertain my younger self: I love how the trailer made an attempt to take it seriously. And considering that was a Conan ripoff. I would also like to submit Conan the Destroyer and Red Sonja to the mix, but I will stand by my opinion that Conan the Barbarian is quality stuff. Now I'm thinking about '80s action stars, and I'm reminded that there's a new Expendables film opening soon. It already belongs here with the previous two. It will be entertaining. It will be stupid as hell.

S01.E06: What Death Can Join Together
Jeebus Cripes replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Penny Dreadful [V]
Dayum! They really did cast the perfect Dorian Gray. Dude stopped aging in his early twenties. So much hotter now that I know he's not a twenty-something. I was pissed that there was no morning after scene between him and Ethan. -
Fonzie Woz 'Ere: TV Programming That Jumped The Shark

True Blood: the very moment Sookie was revealed to be a fairy. I can handle vampires, werewolves, and shifters, but you tell me fairies exist and I'm out. And by "out" what I really mean is that I begrudgingly watch each episode wondering how the fuck this nonsense got so out of hand, and it all leads back to those damned fairies. -
I used to love the hell out of that show. Also from HBO: Rome had it's second season rushed into a series finale, which sucked something fierce, because it was really good stuff that needed proper room to breathe. But the one that will haunt me forever is the cancelling of Deadwood. Best. Show. Ever. I also think Being Human (syfy) was shut down too soon.

Sociopaths are well suited for leadership roles, and in that respect I'm kind of enjoying the character for what he is. I have to say that by the time the episode ended, I was asking myself if Donna was the only one with a soul. Lots of foul deeds going on with these people. The neighbor with shotgun was disturbing the crap out of me. What's to stop him from pulling that stunt again while Gordon or Donna is home, or god forbid, the kids? Look it, if the neighbor shoots Donna, I'm done.

I agree. I finally got around to seeing The Wolverine last night, and I loved it more than I thought I would. I feel like Hugh's take on Wolverine in that film, as well as DoFP is more understated, less obnoxious. I say this because I remember absolutely loving him in X1 and X2, and then he became unbearably smug and entitled in X3. Those feelings seemed to carry over into Origins for me as well, and I'll admit that I felt like I was completely over him before watching DoFP. He turned it around and made me like the character again. I'm sure having better scripts to work from helped.

Guilty Pleasures: Songs You're Ashamed Of Having On Your MP3 Player
Jeebus Cripes replied to PrincessEnnui's topic in Music
I'm big into '80s hairmetal. I don't even feel guilty about Winger (yeah, I said it). The only band I truly feel guilt over is Poison. I love Kix --LOVE. "Edge of a Broken Heart," yeah, I feel your shame on that one. -
ITA. I've since watched Shawn Ashmore in a couple of things, and he's a perfectly competent actor. I'm sure if Bobby wasn't written as such a dullard, he could have brought him to life. Does anyone know if the writer(s) for the first film was a fan of the comics? I know Singer wasn't, but if the writer was a fan, then there is no excuse for such poor characterization. Shit, even if he knew nothing about the comics, there's still no excuse. You do your homework before you write the bloody movie.

Guilty Pleasures: Songs You're Ashamed Of Having On Your MP3 Player

But... but... Skid Row was kickass! I'd be more ashamed to admit this: "Talk Dirty To Me" by Poison. "Electric Youth" by Debbie Gibson is so cheesy I cringe now, but I loved it so hard as a kid. -

"It Wasn't Me" by Shaggy. How can you not laugh? -
I sure do wish they would go back to traditional hand drawn animation. I'm so over all the CGI stuff.

Dream Costars: Who Should Do A Movie Together?
Jeebus Cripes replied to DollEyes's topic in Everything Else About Movies
I would like for Michael Fassbender and Toby Stephens to play brothers. I think I also need for Fassbender and Tom Hiddleston to be in a film together as lovers. Yes... definitely that last bit. -
Just got around to watching this episode, and that scene with DemonMalcom reciting Keats was insanely hot! Timothy Dalton can still bring it. I now fully ship Sir Malcolm and Vanessa. I'm really hoping he doesn't turn out to be her father.

Best Movie Fight Scenes: Ass-Kicking 101
Jeebus Cripes replied to DollEyes's topic in Everything Else About Movies
Johnny Cage vs Scorpion in Mortal Kombat is everything I want to see in a film fight. There are plenty of wide shots where you can see both opponents fighting side by side; as well as appropriately timed close ups for dramatic impact. Great choreography and an awesome set to really make the whole thing pop. Best fight in that movie considering one of the actors isn't even a martial artist.
