  1. Damn, I have no memory of this. It's definitely time for me to plow through these books again. Someone told me Armand and Louis were together for some time and I must've blocked this out as well. I was never that keen on Armand.
  2. Okay, the more I ruminate on the finale, the more I'm convinced Armand is controlling Louis' mind and has tampered with his memories or maybe even implanted shit that never happened. Louis' smile at the end when he announced "the love of my life" was weird as hell, and I find it super strange that a vampire would have such a shitty memory. At first I thought he was just lying to Daniel and getting caught but that moment where his recollection of the night he and his friend hooked up in the bayou was called into question, he seemed to genuinely not remember if it was raining and that struck me odd at the time. Mind control is the only thing that makes sense to me now. My question is, can vampires push other vamps in the books like this? I can't recall this being a thing but haven't read them in probably twenty years.
  3. It's been forever since I've read the books. I thought the dead blood thing was something made up for the film and absent from the novels but couldn't remember exactly. It's a strange thing to carry over to the series, unless they want to paint it as Lestat lying to them. I share your disappointment in this Armand. Will any vampire other than Lestat be close to source material? I was very forgiving of the changes to Louis, and I begrudgingly tolerated what they did to Claudia by aging her, but now this version of Armand has me pissed off all over again. Aside from the fact that he shares no physical characteristics with book Armand, the dynamic between him and Louis with this master/servant routine is weird as hell. I remember this being the case with Armand and Marius and being uncomfortable with it then because of his age. Age not being an issue here, because god forbid we see a teenaged Armand on screen in my lifetime, I don't understand why the hell this ancient vampire would be fawning all over young Louis like this. If it's all an act for Daniel's benefit it still strikes me odd. I guess the writers wanted to pull one over on the book fans, but they took so many liberties that instead of being clever it feels stupid and contrived. And from what I recall, Daniel and Armand were a couple in the books which adds another layer of WTF to it all. I suppose he won't be responsible for Claudia's death here. Contrary to that disappointing turn, I did enjoy the reveal that Lestat's side dish was listening in on all the scheming. I thought that was handled well because I absolutely forgot all about her and got all wrapped up in the murder plot. Shame about Armand ruining what I otherwise thought was a fantastic season finale.
  4. Facts. George's songs resonate with me the most. While My Guitar Gently Weeps is my favorite Beatles song, and the All Things Must Pass album is just phenomenal.
  5. The thing bothered me about Yoko is not that she's there but that she's literally sitting up front as though she is a member of the band. Not just on one occasion but on what seems like a daily basis. This would irritate me beyond the telling even though she isn't saying a word. It's incredibly intrusive. I noticed when Linda was there that she respectively sat a distance away, which is appropriate because she's not a member of the band. I just find it rude on the part of John and Yoko. Poor George. I said aloud, "George is so over it" about one minute before he stood up and declared he quit.
  6. Thank God for Kano because everything about that Cole guy was boring me to tears. Dude had no charisma, couldn't act, and even his powers were lame. At least he could fight but he's just stealing time from interesting legacy characters, and I resent the hell out of the makers of the film for this needless addition. It was like the bad fanfic where someone inserts their OC into it. Aside from Kano, who really was aces, Scorpion and Subzero were the only other standouts for me. Shang Tsung was another weak spot. Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa is a tough act to follow but the actor here is nowhere near menacing enough.
  7. Russell is indeed killing it as Walker. The casting department hits it out of the park so often in the MCU. I wish the immature fans giving the actor grief would grow the hell up and learn the difference between fiction and real life. He's doing a phenomenal job and should be applauded for his performance.
  8. This episode was chef's kiss. The Dora Milaje making a total ass out of Walker while Bucky threw shade gave me so much life that I had to rewind it like 4 times. The moment they captured Lemar I knew he would be killed and that would turn Walker into full villain, and boy was that final shot of Cap's shield dripping blood a horrid sight to behold. Also found myself rooting for Zemo to end Karli. I felt like an asshole at the time, but then she turned around and pulled that stunt with Sam's sister reaffirming how loathsome she is. You don't needlessly kill and fuck with innocent people in the pursuit of a better world. To quote Sam, "I don't think he's the kind you save. He's the kind you stop." No more talking that kid down. She's gotta be stopped.
  9. The part where they had to pull in close during the therapy session cracked me the hell up. Also, Sam thanking her for, "making it weird" at the end.
  10. You and me both, and I wouldn't be surprised. That sounds like a very Paul thing. Totally agree with you! This poor woman deserves some happiness after a lifetime of being shat on. No wonder she snapped and created an entire fake-happy town.
  11. I sure hope so. I've never been a fan of how they rewrote their origins because they didn't have the rights to mutants at the time.
  12. I totally forgot about that! Agatha has no idea what she's really in for. You do not piss off a woman with this much power.
  13. Steve Rogers got his do-over, so I demand Wanda gets hers.
  14. Really? I feel like that giant ass--whose name I never bothered to learn--rebuilding his body is the perfect opportunity for Wanda to just transfer his consciousness over. I just assume that will happen and will be devastated if it doesn't.
  15. Vision was so sweet in that Avengers Compound flashback. His shy interaction with Wanda while trying to comfort her was adorable.
  16. I could be wrong but it almost seemed like Zombie Vision looked at his left hand as though he were expecting to find a ring there. Perhaps he's linked to his consciousness in Westview? In which case, look out Head Dick In Charge. Man, I really got upset and almost did an ugly cry at the scene where she said "I can't feel you."
  17. I feel this statement in my bones, and yet, I've decided that as long as I get MCU versions of the X-Men then I won't freak out over crossover multiverse shenanigans. Now, if any of those characters from Fox (Deadpool being the exception) stick around as permanent fixtures in the MCU? That I'm definitely not okay with.
  18. I wasn't thinking necrophilia either, just the general weirdness of bringing him back to life and forcing him to live in a charade with no free will. I didn't even notice they cut him up! Lordy. Now I need to rewatch that scene.
  19. Yeah, I'm so sure them housing Vision's corpse was strictly on the level. Can't blame Wanda for busting in and taking his body. The weird shit she's doing with said body is another story...
  20. I really enjoyed hearing Vision raise his voice and scream at Wanda. He's usually so calm and collected. That entire end scene was fantastic.
  21. I was spoiled that Evans would be on the show but I didn't think he would literally be portraying Pietro. Ballsy move. I didn't want the Fox universe to mingle with this one because it's so damned convoluted and crappy, but I can't deny my enjoyment from this twist. So Agnes is more or less fully woke and just playing along at this point. Interesting.
  22. Only way I would accept this is if he were doing a cameo in the new Dr. Strange film because of the multiverse. Otherwise? Hard pass.
  23. Late to the party here but I'm Cajun and grew up with my entire family using that term to describe themselves. I actually had no idea that the word "c***" even had racist connotations until I became an adult. Having said that, Memphis is a grown ass grandpa in his late 30s and should know that 99% of the country has probably never heard the term before and will think he's making a racist slur. I would also add that Memphis seems like the type of asshole who could care less and would use said word again regardless. So... yeah. Don't think he was being racist at that particular moment.
  24. I think for all of Enzo's bluster and buffoonery that he's a decent guy deep down. He unfortunately feels the need to maintain his JerseyBro status and has dickish tendencies because of that, but dude has layers. I can remember him being one of the only people who would give Brendan the time of day when pretty much the entire house hated him. He talked shit behind his back with his bros (of course, yo) but I got the impression that he was genuinely being nice at the time because he's kind-hearted underneath it all.
  25. We've been referring to Christine as Geddy Lee in the Jeebus household for years. When my mom saw Cody would be on this season, her first words were, "That's the dude who spent his whole season caressing Geddy Lee!" No lies detected, Mom.
