  1. Mrs. Torqy and I recognized the Robert Fisher headline rip-off instantly, although it's an 18 year old headline. (If you live in Arizona, you've heard it all before.) Plot cribbed from news articles almost word for word right up until the beating of the second massage parlor woman. I called the back-door (or front-door) pilot as soon as LaCroix appeared.
  2. Rewrite of Sleeping With the Enemy with Julia Roberts and Patrick Bergin
  3. The Nell & Sydney episode almost felt like one of the Flynn/Provenza "comedy" episodes on The Closer and Major Crimes, except those were much better. @123BP, I had the same feeling about the writers lack of focus or direction.
  4. At least they got rid of the (first) mole in a couple episodes. 24 would have taken half a season to do so. I think the on-call sniper was directed to kill Cruz and Keating both. Can't have loose ends, ya know.
  5. Hilarious! Already an internet meme!
  6. For a short time I thought Kelton was in fact the serial killer. He's sleazy enough that I'm pretty sure there's more to the story than just him cooking his crime stats.
  7. This discussion makes me wonder, does MW basically play himself? Did not watch Dark Angel, but Bull and DiNozzo seem like the same character in different jobs with different names.
  8. Writers mixing their stolen storylines in this ep. Virus that nibbles a bit from each paycheck was done in Office Space. "Geek Girl" named Chloe was right out of 24. Still a good episode, though.
  9. Crossover episodes have been problematic since Homicide: Life on the Streets and Law and Order days and even before. It's rare to catch them together in the correct order. Why bother when Brett can show up on Med, Halstead (the cop) shows up on Med, the crew from PD shows up on Fire or Med, yibble, yibble, yibble.
  10. I must be taking different mushrooms than everyone else; I thought Nora the Ungrateful Niece (aka Dwayne Pride's daughter) poisoned dear Aunt Gertie. TVLine has this show as a safe bet for renewal, for what it's worth.
  11. As I recall, he played a rather sleazy DA on Murder in the First a while back. Currently playing a seemingly OK guy on The Rookie. Shallow observation: Marissa Ramirez finally got a better hairstyle an epi or two ago.
  12. Hey, come sit at my table. I do too, and with all the ongoing massive data breaches, I probably will for a while. Just wish the price of stamps would stabilize for a while. It's almost cheaper to drive to the electric co. and hand them the payment. Re: the $800 power bill, this seems odd. We live in Phoenix in a 60 year old, average size home (i. e. not energy efficient) and the highest bill in the summer is usually just under $300. That beautiful row house looks like it could have had upgrades to the windows etc.
  13. Does anyone else outside of LA know about Phillippe's? We ate there almost 30 years ago during a layover on the recommendation of an Amtrak car attendant. Good eats and a short walk from Union Station, as I recall. I enjoy writers putting little details like this in shows. Like @rhys and @Reality police I had to look up "soup coolers" edited to add: I believe West being gay was indirectly disclosed in an early episode.

Too bad Robert Shaw is dead...although he'd be far too old by now.
  15. I guess no one else here watches Blacklist, eh? I almost spewed iced tea at Mrs. Torqy when I saw "Megan Boone's auto upholstery shop"
  16. I have thought for some time now that Baker should be developed a little more, but with all the other characters it might be difficult. I don't know if it's the writing or the way Abigail Hawk plays it, but I love the little sarcastic touches she adds occasionally, like the "dream team."
  17. @Moxie Cat, you nailed it! Mrs. Torqy had a TBI also. She has more hair than Tani and Rachel combined, and kept almost all. They just shaved a strip about 1/2 inch wide around her head for the craniotomy. The waiting room for ICU looked like yours, with sleeping bags even. Crazy! Random thought: I can't look at Scott Caan's current haircut without seeing Brenda Warner (wife of former Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner.) Google her and see if you agree! LOL
  18. Re: clothing for farm animals, see this SINA Sadly, I'm old enough to remember when this group was current!
  19. Are we the only ones who watch this show now? (Shallow warning) Is Nell no longer pregnant? I noticed that she ditched the baggy bulky sweaters for a normal-looking blue dress. Re: Deeks' mom being chatty: This will probably be a plot point down the line when she inadvertently discloses something that puts the entire group in danger. Ya heard it here first!
  20. A bit further off-topic, this would make an interesting plot for this show or Criminal Minds back when it was about profiling. A serial killer goes around the country killing those who annoyed/tormented him as a kid. Seems like a good "perfect crime."
  21. Re: Athena's neat house, it was mentioned somewhere along the way that Rockmond Dunbar's character was an architect.
  22. My DefecTV box ate the last 10 or so minutes. Could some kind soul tell me what happened, or point me to a good recap? Thanx in advance!
  23. They did a nice job assembling mostly period-appropriate autos, until the late-40's Chevy Fleetmaster sedan ran into a 1970-ish Chevy truck.
