S46.E17: Carey Mulligan / Kid Cudi
Tachi Rocinante replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
This one was okay. I can't stand Mumford and Sons, and the monologue bit fell flat for me because the guitar strumming was so bad (I don't know if this was intentional or a bad mic or what, but he sounded like a 10 year-old at a Guitar Center.) Beck's Springsteen impression was abysmal - he looked like David Cassidy. Redd's Obama was surprisingly well done. -
The Annual Grammy Awards - General Discussion

The Strokes are barely what I consider rock. And they won in a "Rock" category that included the likes of Sturgill Simpson, Michael Kiwanuka, and Grace Potter. The Grammys haven't had a clue about the heavier side of things for quite awhile now. -
S46.E16: Daniel Kaluuya / St. Vincent
Tachi Rocinante replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
Wow. They are really scraping the bottom of the barrel for musical guests, aren't they? I thought it was a Madonna parody sketch at first. Good show otherwise. -
I avoided this until I caught up on HBOMax because all of the episodes are in one thread. The show is kinda uneven, going from slapstick to surreal to heartfelt, but I appreciate the effort. I started off loathing Gary, but then remembered he had five years alone with KVN and no cookies. (I was really expecting him to hate them or be allergic once he got to eat them.) A lot of references are the "blink and you'll miss it" type. Mooncake is the shit. Choookity. Armisen is perfect as KVN, because he is an annoying actor. Tika Sumpter (Quinn) could make a living pranking people on the phone pretending to be Mila Kunis. I still don't trust Mom completely. Not a fan of the Lost Prince Who Would Be King subplot.

My DVR cut off as soon as they showed Max. Did Harry say anything or was that it? Regarding the pizza, there is something called "Colorado Style" which has really thick crust, so at least they were trying to be realistic.

Just like Lindelhof and Cuse with Lost. I will go to my grave believing they were pissed that everyone figured out it was limbo from the very beginning, so they dicked around for five years. I'm in the "military testing opened a wormhole/alternate universe" camp. That would also explain Zeke.

S02.E09: The Show Must Go On / S02.E10: Into The White
Tachi Rocinante replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Snowpiercer
I thought it was rather lame for Ruth to get stuck with Wilford all because of that damn jacket. -
S46.E15: Maya Rudolph / Jack Harlow
Tachi Rocinante replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
One of the worst episodes in a long time. Maya Rudolph's "accents" were just not very good. Musical guest and Adam Levine were awful. Update was decent and the Barfly sketch and NFT song were funny. Bowen's mixed-message piece seemed a bit insincere because of the way it started off. -
S05.E03: Chief Operating Officer
Tachi Rocinante replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Silicon Valley
I agree to a point. I know lots of hardcore IT men and women, and all of them will give props in public when warranted. Even the cynics and the socially stunted ones. It may be difficult for them, but they at least make the attempt. Gilfoyle is just a douche. -
The Annual Grammy Awards - General Discussion

No rock performers? (And they only showed Eddie's guitar and played a terrible live clip.) It's also sad when BTS' vocals are more understandable than some of these "artists" whose first language is English. -
The music and cinematography on this show are outstanding. The storytelling? Yeah, about that . . .

S36.E13: The Spy Who Loved Fessy

Given what we know, I don't have any faith the TPTB would even know the proper way to do it.- 41 replies

S36.E13: The Spy Who Loved Fessy
Tachi Rocinante replied to peachmangosteen's topic in The Challenge
Not to be a nerd, but did anyone do the math problem correctly? They didn't follow the order of operations rules. -
Me too. But you forgot 2a - Richard acts like a gaping asshole because he can't read a room/ego/has no fucking business being anywhere near the CEO.

S02.E07: Our Answer for Everything
Tachi Rocinante replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Snowpiercer
So was this happening during the last episode and the timelines haven't converged yet? -
What a mess. This was definitely a "throw a bunch of shit on the wall and see what sticks" approach. The only things I found funny were the dueling reporters and the old people raising hell. The Powers That Be bit was terrible. And everyone they were mocking got off too light. When did they dumb down Kenny so much? He's always been poor, but not "Trolls headphones" special.

S36.E12: Tinker, Tailer, Bunny, Spy

I haven't searched all episode threads, but I swear to Christ if I hear "Gold SKOAL" one more fucking time . . . -
I have liked Natalie Brown in just about everything I've seen her in. That's all I got.

So, did anyone catch the Dateline special late last month? It focused mostly on India and Catherine, but also included interviews with Nicki Clyne and a brief phone call with Keith. Nicki and several other women have formed some sub-cult of their own, called "The DOSsier Project" to defend their actions. https://www.thedossierproject.com/ Keith is still a delusional narcissist, gave word salad answers and avoided admitting anything.

"Scrub the pans before you leave" and "It's the Greys that have the anal fetish" or whatever had me rolling.

Albert Brooks is one of the most insufferable comedians working today. The whole bit at the end was atrociously painful. His brother (the late Super Dave Osborne) was funnier, but that's not saying much. When/how did Cletus "turn on his fans"? By embracing the good life?

They didn't use the real music, put Peter's sound effects (duhduh-duh-duhduh) were perfect. Also, the use of Tech Noir as a location.
-
Same here - I even watched Harsh Realm. Also, The 4400 is supposed to get a reboot soon on the CW.

The first definition listed on UD is actually the correct one 😄 I stopped visiting that site years ago when it was clear that people were just making shit up to see if it would gain traction. 🙄
