  1. Oh thank goodness laurel and donathan are safe! I really thought they were both in trouble. Sad to see Michael go but he’ll definitely be back in future seasons. I don’t understand why he voted for Wendell though. What a throwaway vote. If he would have voted for laurel, he could have at least forced a tie. I think Donathan changed his mind at tribal about giving Jenna the idol. I think she messed up by saying at tribal everyone told her she’d be the one going. Then Jeff asked Seabastian and he didn’t agree and said he was surprised she giving up. If Jenna’s story was true, Sebastian had no reason to lie about that. Hopefully that makes sense. I wonder if Sebastian’s answer gave Donathan pause about handing it over. I really like the Dominick, Wendell, Laurel, and donathan foursome. If any of them win, I’ll be happy. I slightly think Donathan has a chance but Dominick is getting the winners edit in my humble opinion. And I’m pissed because I had him as my winner in my draft and changed it at the last second to Brendan. Ugh. Oh yeah. Kellyn sucks at survivor. I hope they do a compilation of every time her gut was wrong and call her out if she acts like she was running the game and was a huge threat at the reunion show because it’s been wrong A LOT.
  2. I was really ready to give up on this show. Once Michael died, a lot of the joy left the show for me. Now he’s back. They’ve sucked me back in for one more (final?) season but I think I’m just going to be disappointed in the end. Love the cast’s reaction. So glad they captured that. And I agree with the poster up thread, Jane is totally pregnant with Raf’s baby.
  3. I too assumed the portrait was implying she became president one day. They wouldn’t put a (disgraced) chief of staff’s portrait up. This show has had my suspended disbelief before but that’s wildly unbelievable. She still killed people even if it was all “okay” in the end. HUGE misstep to not give the audience the satisfying conclusion of Cyrus’s death. And how did NO ONE in the government/law enforcement question David’s death? That had suspicious written all over it especially when Cyrus went the extra mile and suffocated him with a throw pillow. There would have been some evidence. I guess it’s somewhat impressive the show withheld the final shot being Olivia/Fitz in Vermont making jam. Good job, I guess? Y’all. We did it. We survived all the way to the end of this show. Especially after this absolute dumpster fire of a final season. Congratulations, everyone!
  4. Oh thank goodness. Michael’s beautiful face will be on my tv for at least another week.
  5. The Katims signature style camerawork doesn’t bother me but I’ve got to remember this is not like other shows when a zoom in doesn’t necessarily mean they’re dropping a hint. For example, when they showed the band director’s shaky hands, I thought he was going to have a heart attack (of course, after agreeing with Lou and seeing his “vision” and the whole band miraculously becoming perfect after one more practice). Then when Gwen was looking at her dads empty side of the closet, it seemed to linger on a belt hanging on the rod for just a second too long. I thought the poor girl was going to attempt suicide. I’m so glad none of that happened. I like the show but agree with others that Lou (and his family) being a big focus is a misstep. I also thought the actor was Zachary Levi for the entire pilot. Josh Radnor just seems like such a sad sack of a guy as Lou. ...Wait is his name Lou Mazzou? Yikes. I agree with the poster above. The names on this show are ROUGH.
  6. When Tyler's (possible crackhead) sister is dropping truth bombs in the outpatient vs inpatient treatmeant choice AND making complete sense, that’s when you know you’ve messed up. I’ve had sympathy for Catelynn in the past because who truly knows what her life was like growing up and the whole adoption deal (which is hardly getting mentioned these days, compared to the past. I hope I didn’t just jinx it because I think Cate constantly having to talk about it on camera at the producers’ prodding is half her problem. She cannot move forward in that grief/acceptance process) but when she jumps ship after a few days of being home and chooses to go back when even the treatment center is suggesting she stay closer to home, you aren’t going to continue to get sympathy from the vast majority of people. Nova really broke my heart tonight. Loving her new turtle. “Thank you for coming back” “Mom is going to pick me up.” Ugh. Poor little thing.
  7. I’ll absolutely never forgive this show for denying me the pure delight of seeing Negan slowly rise up out of that dumpster like Oscar the Grouch during Simon’s monologue. I knew he was there. I knew he was listening. I was almost clapping my hands in aniticipation waiting for the glorious reveal. Then they just had him saunter out from behind it. Ugh. I’m so disappointed.
  8. Wow. Kerry really struggled to remember that out-muscled line (and they kept it in). This show is struggling to hold my interest but her stammering and sputtering for what felt like a solid ten seconds pulled my attention from my phone. Bye, Scott Foley. You’re not surviving the end of this show. I liked Abby getting in on the hacker action. Wildly unbelievable but good for her. It'd be a lot easier to believe all of this “you’re better than this” garbage if the “Olivia is bad and must be taken down at all costs” arc hadn’t ended three episodes ago. Mellie has also been a part of some terrible things over the show’s run. And Huck... don’t get me started. It’s sad this show really went off the rails. But I’m so glad it’s going to be finished in two episodes. Sticking with it to the bitter end.
  9. I wondered about this too. Because I think he and Kam were both still wearing their knight gear. Was it the equivalent of Phil showing up in the middle of a leg on the Amazing Race to eliminate the team who is obviously out and there’s no point in completing the task? Did either of them run to get the final token or did a producer just tell them to go straight to the finish line because they were out. Or are they just idiots and ran that last leg with their gear on? I miss the finals of yesteryear. Climbing mountains, staying up all night standing on a small space, eating pig guts, running 13 miles. Come on Challenge. Step up your game.
  10. Mack is so fame hungry that I CANNOT believe she didn’t have some elaborate set up to tell Ryan she was pregnant while the cameras rolled. All we got was a shot of the pee stick and Mack telling a producer by herself, without Ryan by her side. I’m not buying it. At all. Am I the only skeptical one about this? If Mack wants him to be a loving, involved parent, just dress the baby in a dog costume every day. I’ve never seen Ryan seem to care about... well... anything (besides getting high) except for that dog. Don’t get me wrong. The dog is adorable!! But if he showed Bentley 1/10 of the affection he has for the dog, he’d be a decent parent. At the very least one who shows up to games and holidays on time. Speaking of Bentley, I know he was prompted by a producer to ask about adoption but he really seems like the sweetest kid. I know Maci gets a lot of grief but she definitely did something right with him.
  11. How many more times this season are they going to have two main characters in a super dark, enclosed space filled with walkers with seemingly no way of escaping make it out alive with nary a scratch after the zombies politely wait for them to finish their fifteen minute long monologues before attacking? Sigh. It’s a zombie show. I get it. I’m suspending disbelief. But I need more than wash, rinse, repeat (But Darryl certainly could use that).
  12. I know it’s a tv show and there needs to be drama but... seriously can no one on this show freaking record their conversations with other people?!? Cyrus has confessed to THREE different people at this point. Not one person can hit record on their voice memos app while he’s pontificating up a storm? Ughhhhh. I seriously doubt Jake would be that butthurt after having feelings for Mellie for .2 seconds. I have a lot of love in my heart for Scott Foley from his Felicity days (for the record, I was Team Ben) but the dude is so wishy washy that if he doesn’t survive the end of this show, I’m going to be okay with it at this point.
  13. I really didn’t expect to enjoy this show as much as I have. I truly think they did a great job over the entire season, evolving characters and making us care about them (except Reznick. And Andrews was a little too “mustache twirling villain” these last two episodes for my liking). I did not expect to shed so many tears in this episode. The hug. The “I love you more”. The fact that Glassman has a better chance at survival. I loved all of it. And Shaun’s straightforward “I have to go drinking” was just so great. Almost as great as his smiling experiment last week. I only know Freddie from Finding Neverland and I think I’m too much of a wuss for Bates Motel, but I might give it a chance because the kid is really just so great. And I’m glad he found his toy scalpel (but I thought there was going to be more of a story there). Really gonna miss this show. Excited for next season!
  14. Didn’t love his attitude but I’m happy Leroy won. Best unintentionally funny moment: Zach’s awkward shuffle for if he should go hug Leroy after his win when he was clearly full of rage and happiness. Kailah beat him to it so he just scooted backwards. It made me literally lol. I hope this last final is actually grueling. None of these carnival games, chug a beer, swing from this trapeze over a lake crap the other seasons have pulled. I want people crying from exhaustion and pain, dangit! Like the good old days. Pulling for Zach who was somehow pulling off the flourescent pink hoodie look quite well. Commentary definitely suffered with the loss of Jemmye and Devin. But we know they’ll be back in another soon. I also hope they bring back more old schoolers like Brad, Darrell, etc. in future seasons. But this new cast of folks from other reality shows weren’t the worst. Much better than the recent AYTO castoffs. But they set the bar very, very low so that’s not saying much.
  15. Right there with you! My younger self loved me some Riley Smith in that movie! But he looked... different. It almost seemed like they purposely kept part of his face in shadows (which is weird because they said he lights up a room) like he had messed up his eyes or something. They looked real puffy in the crying scene, for sure (but he was crying to be fair). The last season was the first time I could see his face clearly and knew it was definitely him. I know they’re setting up the love triangle but maaaaaaaybe they won’t go the obvious route. I know they will but here’s to hoping they won’t! Does Carlos Pena look 12 to anyone else? I know he was on a Nickelodeon show but I cannot buy him as a husband and father... even if he is also one in real life. :/
  16. Here is a quote from an interview with Probst after the first episode (from EW): “And, as always, we wanted the audience to trust that like every other advantage or twist or format change it is already laid out. That’s why the row of urns is out there on day one. We know what urns hold an advantage opportunity in them but we don’t know who will end up going to Ghost Island and having the decision of whether to go for it. And as the game goes on, Ghost Island may become something people don’t fear but instead desire… because of the chance for a game-changing opportunity.” —- I know most will say shenanigans on everything being laid out ahead of time but... it makes sense. They set up certain games each time and they don’t know who will show up. If it was fixed, there DEFINITELY would have been something in the urn for Stephanie to up the drama last night. But I am a self-admitted Survivor sheep when it comes to producers. *shrugs* Perhaps they’ll change the game after a certain number of survivors is reached. Risking your vote is the game for the first 5 to visit for example and they can’t allow it for everyone. Maybe we’ll see a new game once they merge? (Remember the fake merge? That fakeout was the best.) They HAVE to do more with Ghost Island after they brought up so many examples of past players’ mistakes. I thought this season was going to be idols and advantages extravaganza and so far... not really. Granted Dominick has two but we have no idea what’s going on with that tribe since they keep winning and who might be on the chopping block since the swap. I think Donathan is going to win the whole thing (based on editing). And if they still did fan favorite gets $100,000, he’d be a lock at this point (but Michael might give him some competition). I really like his friendship with Laurel. I hope we see more of her story soon. Like everyone else, I love Michael. I hope he finds a way to stay in but you know that target on his back is huge. But he’s just too pretty (and smart and strategic and adorable) to go so early.
  17. Hahaha. I unliked your post just so I could like it again solely for this pun. :)
  18. With the promos making it sound like another shocking cliffhanger ending, I was watching the final ten minutes in absolute agony, convinced the twinkling music was just to throw us off and someone was about die. Frank about to get taken out by a sniper shot as he’s signing up for law school, Laurel having some complication from labor (she gasped for a second and I thought “this is it!”), some hitman showing up to Asher’s place, or lastly, Annalise dying from a heart attack (while holding adorable Christopher) after all the stress she’s endured from keeping everyone alive and out of jail over the last two years (and after her victory with her Supreme Court case nonetheless). And then... none of that happened. Someone has a kid. Laurel may have killed someone. A little bit of a letdown to be frank (but I’m glad he’s still alive ;) )
  19. Fair point. Especially with so many “equalizers” at the end of each challenge in the form of puzzles or throwing balls/grappling hooks/coconuts at a target of some sort. But if I were on a tribe, I’d want to keep Brendan-like player over a Jenna (Libby? One of the blondes) or Stephanie-type to give us a better chance of winning down the road if there was a wildly physical challenge.
  20. Yup. Exactly right. I read an exit interview with Brendan that he had a conversation with Kellyn and told her his birthday was the day after TC and he really hoped he’d be spending it on the island. He saw her start to tear up (shocking) and turn away really fast and that’s how he knew they were gunning for him. He tried to convince Michael but he said Michael didn’t think they’d vote off a strong guy so early when they were losing so often. I hate when they vote off the strongest players especially when you’re on a tribe that keeps losing! I get they are a threat for individual immunity but you’re not gonna merge at 18 players.
  21. Michael is playing HARD and I can’t believe he’s eighteen freaking years old! I thought that was pretty brilliant to say the idol has double power since James was voted out with two idols. Granted the jig was up five minutes later when he played it for one person but still... very smart. I hate that he’s probably next on the chopping block because he’s definitely playing the game and not sitting back and riding on coattails. I fear Kellyn (holy crap... autocorrect does not like her name and corrected it five times) is getting a strong edit to at least make it to F3. We’ve heard about her journey twice in 3 episodes. (At least I think we did. I watched the 60 second interviews on EW and that really helps put names to faces in these early episodes.) But I’ve definitely heard the divorce/career change story twice from her. I’m bummed because both of my players drafted for the survivor fantasy game are out now. I really recommend playing because it gives you someone to root for in these first few episodes before you know who anyone is. Morgan and Brendan defeated in back-to-back episodes. Ughhh. Last thought: loving all of these underwater challenges this season!
  22. I thought this episode was pretty good. It’s getting stronger each week in my opinion. But I had to keep my eyes (and ears) closed for the tanning bed death. Too much, show. Too. Much. I consider Connie and Peter pretty big tv stars so it’s surprising to me that they don’t have huge roles each week (Connie especially). I still think those two will end up together at some point in the show so maybe that’s when their storylines will really take off? Party of Five has been off the air for eighteen years (!!!) and I still have a visceral reaction anytime I see Daphne the stripper in another role (here as the Porch Pirate).
  23. Once Cyrus accused Jake of being behind it, I knew he was to blame (and considered perhaps his ex-bf Hank Schrader was helping him because what purpose did Dean Norris serve besides guest star credits??). I don’t remember ever rooting so hard for a character to die on a show (with the exception of GOT). Cyrus needs to go. I would have been sad for David to be collateral damage but that was a risk I was willing to take to be rid of Cyrus Beene. Was he ever a good guy or was he always this awful? ughhhhh. I remember reading that Kerry Washington will rehearse in her Olivia heels because it puts her into the character. I have come to dread seeing her walking solo down a hallway. It is just so overly exaggerated. No one walks like that. Stop. I’m sticking with this show to the end because 1) I’m a complete-ist. 2) I guess I kinda like torturing myself. But if it ends with Cyrus’s death... it might just be worth it.
  24. I liked it too. I was surprised at how it seems (for now) she and the husband are staying together and pretty well-matched since he knew where to look for her and brought wine which is what she said she needed. At first when the other barista said “hottie alert” I thought, wow, already introducing the new love interest in episode one. Then it turned out to be her brother. :/ Hey, it’s the first episode. I’m still learning who everyone is! So we’ll see if they stay together and avoid the temptation to introduce a new love interest this season because you gotta have that love triangle. It had a sliiiight Gilmore Girls vibe in my opinion with the quick banter. But I say that as someone who stopped watching GG in the 3rd season. I didn’t think based on the preview that I’d like it as much as I did. Excited to see where it goes from here!
  25. I echo everyone above. Nothing will ever top Johnny Backpack... but this came pretty dang close. Bullying aside (Jemmye... I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed in you), this was a perfect episode from start to finish. Bravo, Devin, masterminding everything. I believe Bananas and Kayleigh hooked up. He never denied it. So it sucks the harassment of Kayleigh was a result of Devin dropping that (truth?) bomb but wow. It could not have gone any better for Devin. Tony’s fake-out of naming Nelson was golden. Zach’s talking head calling Tony a legend was amazing. Devin’s win... I actually rejoiced out loud. Finally someone had the balls to step up and take Bananas out. And Devin’s: “Sorry future kid. Sorry future wife. This one moment defines my life” was hilarious. Also that challenge was really cool. I can’t believe I’m pulling for Devin, Zach, and Tony! Great episode. Let’s keep this train moving and finish the season strong.
