  1. Overall I liked this show. But I think they were trying to do too much. Especially with only 9 thirty-minute episodes. Bess’s 4 jobs. Her singing career. Her brother and his special needs. Her dad’s money problems and substance abuse issues. Hinting that Bess might have an issue down the road. The love triangle. The mom coming back. The creepy producer. Bess’s friend/manager. June Squibb at the nursing home. The roommate and her love life and family. Just pick three, maybe even four of the above, and you could have had a solid short-run season. The music was the highlight for me and what kept my interest in the show when it was all over the place in some episodes I was very much Team Samuel. I was very happy we got some resolution there. But I said out loud “I just knew that douche was going to be standing in the back” when they cut to Ethan. I’d be happy with a season 2 but you know that love triangle will continue on.
  2. Jimmy performing Stephanie’s telethon routine in a replica outfit KILLED ME. That was one of my favorite episodes as a kid so the nostalgia hit hard. Amazing.
  3. I was really pulling for Jenna. I’m glad she gave it her all and didn’t half-ass it with Zach on her mind. She seems like a genuinely sweet girl who tries not to rock the boat. But that, sadly, includes her relationship. I know they’re engaged now but I hope someone talks some sense into her before she walks down the aisle. She will be in for a lifetime of arguments and disappointment. Zach seemed legitimately insane (not to mention immature with his screaming demands) on the FaceTime call. Girl, there are better people out there who will treat you well. Honestly when she and Fessy were sitting together on the couch (when she was trying to reason with wasted Nany), they looked real cute together! Open your eyes, Jenna! Why did it seem like Nany was the only one absolutely wasted? Everyone else seemed slightly buzzed at most It pains me to say this but Kailah and Bear were kind of cute together. Jordan. Get it together, man. I was getting secondhand embarrassment watching that display. I don’t think Tori is much better off with that control freak. Someone start a support group for her and Jenna. Please please please Challenge editors go back to challenge, voting, and an elimination in a NINETY MINUTE EPISODE.
  4. I really loved this show as a whole and thought it got stronger as the series progressed. I really only tuned in for Skylar Astin but was pleasantly surprised by the rest of the cast. I truly hope it gets renewed for a second season. I read an interview with the creator that they are cautiously optimistic. Fingers crossed! I do wonder if Lauren Graham taking over Spark Point (however it is spelled) leaves room for her to have a reduced role in the future (and her role is already pretty reduced. I just can’t believe this is what she wants to be doing in tv after carrying several shows on her own but a paycheck is a paycheck) in the event the show gets renewed. And maybe there’s potential for Zoey to take her spot. And then Max gets to be the manager in Zoey’s place and that will throw another wrench in their new romance. I lost my dad when I was 13. My sister announced she was pregnant with our family’s first grandchild three days before the first anniversary of his death, which helped ease the sadness of him being gone for a year. Seeing Mitch sing with David and Emily and their baby bump was devastating but also perfect. I’m sad he didn’t get to meet and hold his grandchild but that was a beautiful and realistic moment. I’m going to miss Mitch (and Howie).
  5. I love this show and I’m so glad it’s back. Asaf is very attractive (he actually looks a lot like Stephen Colleti from Laguna Beach but with a wig) but that attraction was short lived after seeing him stick his tongue down Nany’s throat. Plus I love Jay from Survivor so I’m glad he lives to see another week. I LOVE the twist that you have to win an elimination to make it to the final. As much as I love CT, he has skated through a few seasons because no one wanted to go against him. He’ll probably still win an elimination but it’s going to shake up strategy and I’m here for it. I’m also here for a Wes/Johnny partnership (however long it may last). Did Cory get some new teeth? They look too big for him (I noticed this on the new season of Teen Mom- that train wreck I just can’t walk away from- but no one else seemed to immediately notice in that forum so maybe I’m imagining it). If he did, I think he went to Nany’s doctor because those are also too big for her.
  6. And I thought the Arie and Becca breakup was bad. That was the most UNCOMFORTABLE thing I have ever witnessed on this show. Biggest loser this season is Peter. He could have maybe redeemed himself at the very end if he would have interrupted his mother and said “That’s enough. I love her. You don’t get to talk to the woman I love like this, whatsoever, but especially not on national television. You need to respect our choices. We are willing to forgive you but you need to take a serious look at yourself and see if you really love me as much as say you do. Because someone who loves me wouldn’t be treating me and the woman I love like this right now. Oh, and I’m moving out tomorrow.” But he just sits there like a little weasel while Madi has to defend the two of them. They will not make it as long as Babs is around. I know peter grew up with this so it’s all he knows but I hope this was an eye opening experience for him. This is not a normal woman/mother. Or at least all of the Internet backlash should be if the first hand account was not enough.
  7. How is Elaine’s name not coming up for votes? She seems like the biggest social threat to me. Everyone seems to love her, including Jeff. Everyone says karishma will keep sliding by each vote so let’s get her out now BUT WHAT ABOUT ELAINE?? She will get votes at the final trial (not from Missy, obviously) but I seriously don’t think Karishma would get many. Her remaining original tribe is just Karishma and Dean right? The rest were all on the purple one. How has this not even been mentioned since the merge? I still think a woman is winning this season.
  8. I’m going to be honest... I don’t think it’s fair Jordan could drop the rope to throw Josh off balance. I get it wasn’t against the rules and it WAS smart of him to come up with that strategy when he was at a big disadvantage. But to win by dropping the thing you’re supposed to be pulling on doesn’t make sense to me. Granted, I find Jordan insufferable in his boasting so if CT was on the line I might feel differently if he pulled the same strategy. I love Leroy and I hope this is his season to win. I got a little teary when he got all emotional. I thought for sure he and Kam were gone. Glad he lived to see another day.
  9. I haven’t been an Ally fan this season but I thought it was so sweet when she asked Tom if she could give to her spot to James through her tears. I’d almost put in my tin foil hat and think James asked to be removed so he can be home with his wife and family but Emma seemed absolutely gutted so I don’t think that’s the case. Good for Hannah rejecting CA’s hug. And that was gross for CA to then get upset for making her upset. It seemed manipulative and I didn’t like it. I feel like EVERYONE is dancing super slow even now with this season almost over. I don’t know if that’s a reflection on the pros or if they can’t be in the studio practicing as long this season or what. But it seems like every pro is dragging their partner through the dance and yelling instructions at them as they go. There really hasn’t been a truly memorable dance yet IMO. I think I’m pulling for Kel at this point. And it pains me to say that because I’m not a Whitney fan. This season has been lackluster.
  10. Delilah suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks. She’s the worst. And Maggie is really grating on me this season as well. I’m over the fading pink wig too. I think we have not seen the end of Enid and Maurice. She mentioned she couldn’t take down her Christmas lights due to her hip surgery and the camera focused on the blue bulb both times Gary was at her door. The second visit, I was waiting for him to offer to help her take them down. When he didn’t offer, I thought we might see her again in a future episode. But it could be nothing. And In the preview (spoiler tags since I’m not sure if we can’t talk about next week’s episode for this show): ETA: Katherine has become my favorite. I’m glad she didn’t back down to precious Delilah’s whining and moaning about how it wouldn’t be fair to her and her life if they tell the truth. She. Is. The. Worst!
  11. If this show harms a single hair on Christopher’s head, we will riot! Solid premiere. Glad it’s back.
  12. ahahahahahahaha. That was AMAZING. Screw you Laurel for making me have sympathy for Cara who has been my least favorite for several seasons. That’s gotta suck being on a team where you don’t even know if people will try to win the challenges because you’re next on their hit list. Kam can be a bit much but I loved her confronting Laurel and not losing her cool as Laurel just continued to raise her voice and talk over her. I used to like Laurel and she’s physically attractive but her attitude these past two episodes have made her really unattractive. That was a terrifying shot of her after she thought she won. She looked truly deranged. I’m no Ninja fan but I was pulling for her tonight. What a satisfying payoff after an episode that was honestly stressing me out because everyone was fighting and I don’t need to hear people arguing (or Georgia and Bear canoodling). I’m sure Team USA will continue to implode but I’m more excited now that I’m not going to watch a team throw challenges and pick off an alliance one by one.
  13. Did NO ONE suggest throwing in CT who could have easily beat Bear and then he could jump ship and be on Team USA? They didn’t know that in the first male elimination. Now they do. There’s no excuse. Go get your man from the enemy, USA! Also, that was a big disadvantage for USA to go first. They figured out too late everyone should be trying the same number at the same time. And CT (with the Brits going second) knew this and it seemed like he was trying to get them to balance so the wheel would stop spinning (like half the locks were on one side and the other half on the other side, constantly making the wheel spin with folks scrambling to their lock as opposed to one side working at a time). See?! This is why they need him on their team! I was sad to see Wes go. He’s arrogant but he’s better than Johnny and Josh looks confused and stupid half the time. Turbo’s explanation of releasing hamsters from now to save them from the wheel in their cages on made me chuckle.
  14. I completely agree. But I don’t absolutely hate it. It seems like it’s between Derek and Pilot Peter at this point. I wish it could be Mike but he’s had a pretty poor showing in Paradise so far so I think he’s fallen out of consideration. But if Derek ends up being the bachelor and Tayshia shows up halfway through his season with regrets about their relationship, I’m out.
  15. Christian is the lovechild of Hannah G. and Danielle M. from Nick’s season. She’s also very low energy and not quite made for reality tv like Demi.
  16. Oh man. Now I seriously have my hopes up that Tyler will be on DWTS in the fall. He did almost minor in dance in college after all! 😉 I’ll even put up with him (fake?) dating Hannah during the show because you know he will cruise to the Final 3 so he’ll be on our screens for a long, absolutely glorious time. *fingers crossed*
  17. I thought the first two episodes flew by and I was surprised when the credits appeared. This was the first one to drag for me. Let’s hope it’s the outlier for the season. I’m extremely suspicious of Jane’s new boyfriend. I agree with @sashayshante that he wanted to meet Ziggy way too fast. Jane seemed to hesitate when he said it but now they’re surfing together? I’m not convinced he’s related to Perry but I don’t think he has good intentions. With all the references to drowning this season (Bonnie’s mom teaching her to swim, Celeste’s comment to Madeline that she would have “pulled her out of the pool”, in this episode alone) someone is dying in a body of water this season FOR SURE. Either by accident, by force, or on purpose. My money is on Mary Louise because we all know this show can’t afford to keep Meryl on for two seasons. Perhaps she’ll “slip” and fall into a pool after “borrowing” some of Celeste’s pills and drown. With at least one of the Monterey Five close by to witness it. I didn’t like Reese’s speech at the PTA meeting. It seemed like an attempt at an Emmy-grab. I love Reese but you know she’s gearing for it after Nicole and Laura’s wins last season. And that monologue ain’t gonna do it.
  18. I’ve been one to complain about easy finals for the last few years. So I was pumped to see it was going to actually be difficult. But man did they overcorrect. This was brutal. I get running, I get biking, but in the sand? In the brutal heat? In the middle of the day? I don’t think I could have done one lap. Poor Georgia. Girl was absolutely delirious asking if Bear was there. I hope she comes back in a future season. And while Mattie technically quit, TJ shockingly did not give her a hard time. I mean he even complimented her and gave her advice. I’ve really grown to care for Teej over the years. I feel like his personality has come out more these last few seasons and I like it. I can’t help it... I’m still pulling for Wes. Theo seems fine but he’s been tainted by being Cara Maria’s partner. Just please not Ninja or CM. Speaking of CM, my DVR cut off. Did it end with her freaking out? Or did something else happen?
  19. I picked Chris to win it all in my fantasy league so I’m thrilled. Sure, this season wasn’t the best but Chris didn’t make up the rules. He didn’t decide that everyone voted off would get a second chance. I think that twist was a misstep by producers because maybe they thought more people would quit or not take on the second chance. He did big moves in the time that he had in the game. If he would have lost the fire making challenge, everyone would say he was the dumbest Survivor contestant ever giving up a guaranteed spot in the final three. So I give him props. He played with the cards he had. He provided for folks on EoE and built relationships. He convinced Lauren to give up her idol when it was not necessary. He performed well in challenges and won immunity (which he then gave away and then went on to win the fire making challenge). And he won the whole game with more than a majority of the votes. Good. For. Him. I’m sick of Wentworth. She can take a thousands seats. Scolding Chris for asking a question and saying she’s offended. Gavin went on to ask questions of Chris and she said nothing. She’s not that great of a player overall. She just had a good run in the second chance season and was playing from the bottom so the audience rooted for the underdog. She has a meanstreak and is not a positive role model. I’m interested to hear why Devens voted for Gavin to win it all beyond the “he never had a single vote against him” logic. If Devens has won the final immunity, he would have never taken Chris to the end. So that seemed like sour grapes in my opinion. I didn’t hate Devens. He kept the game interesting with idol play. and he’ll surely be back in a future season. I like Boston Rob but I don’t think this theme is going to do well. My expectations are low for next season. But I’ll be there!
  20. Why? Why did they have to do this? Why bring Michael back? Why bring him back for it to end like this? So. Infuriating. I was ready to give up on this show last season. I honestly don’t care about Jane or Rafael as characters at this point. I really only stayed for the secondary characters even though their plots are terrible half the time too. I love Petra. I love Rogelio. I love Xo. I love Alba. The narrator is honestly my favorite character. I even love Ellie and Anna. You’re doing something wrong show when I don’t care about the main character, her one true love and their spawn (Mateo is also the worst but I blame J&R for that). Then they brought back Michael and sucked me back in for one more season. And now here we are. I don’t know if I can finish this series out. I’m just that disappointed.
  21. I thought this was the strongest episode of the season so far. I’ve been really disappointed and frustrated by Jane’s reaction (mainly her annoyance) to her freaking husband and love of her life being back from the dead. But Michael remembering he’s Michael was so worth it this amnesia plot. I’m Team Michael and was very ready to give up on the show before his return at the end of last season. I too cannot wait for the Rogelio and Michael reunion (probably more than the Michael and Jane reunion). Kid actors can be the worst but I think the twins and Mateo do a pretty decent job. I think one of the funnier moments was one of the twins crossing her arms and firmly saying “Don’t touch my body” after being taught to do so by Petra. Then in the tent when Jane grabbed Petra’s arm, The way Yael said “Don’t touch my body” with an arm movement just made me crack up. As the show has gone on, Petra really has become one of my favorite characters.
  22. You know what I don’t need to see on my tv? Multiple shots of Cam’s puke flying around. You know what I don’t need to hear on my tv? Paulie and Cara doing the nasty. Cara can go away forever at this point. Excited for this to turn into an individual game. This season has been better solely because they are showing challenges and eliminations in the same episodes but these last few episodes have been a little stale.
  23. Seriously, did they have alcohol at the reward meal because David made that drunk/sober comment? Rick did a complete 180 from the calm, collected game he’s been playing this whole time. It’s one thing to be emotional. It’s another thing to rip out your heart and hammer it onto your sleeve for all to see during his conversation with Wardog and later David. Even when he was originally voted out, I still thought he was getting the #winnersedit (I promise I have not read spoilers) but he may have tanked his game in this episode. What an idiot. Considering Lauren is not eating, she is still doing so well in the challenges. Minus the fainting which was truly scary. I wonder how long she was unconscious because it seemed like a couple of minutes. I doubt she goes much further in the game but I’d love to see her in another season (where hopefully her tribe wins good rewards or their part of the island at least has fruit, fish, snails whatever) because she’s such a competitor. I’m ready for that weasel Ron to go.
  24. My DVR only recorded an hour and ended with Alpha sitting down next to Lydia so I had no idea why Dalton Ross from EW was hyping this episode so much on Twitter. Fortunately, I thought to look at the beginning of Into the Badlands and saw TWD had carried over. NOW I see what he was saying. Yikes. I’ve given Tara (and the actress) a lot of hell over the years but man, I didn’t want her to go out like that. I also liked Enid (and might have been a party of one in that opinion) so that sucked. Henry...ehhhh. And then a bunch of randoms. I did laugh at Addy still having her glasses on. Probably not the show’s intention but I was grateful for the chuckle. I did think Siddiq was one of the better actors in his speech. I hope his story was true and he wasn’t turned or something. Oh and Daryl, when you have the bad guy with her back to a cliff dropoff and you are standing in front of her on solid ground and have leverage, just give her a little nudge next time. If the fall doesn’t kill her, the hoarde of zombies will.
  25. You’d think with lady who plays Alpha being the voice of Ruby (according to IMDb) on Max and Ruby (Ruby and Max!) for a few years would help her 1) have a consistent accent and 2) a convincing accent with all the voiceover work. However, it was absolutely was all over place and awful to hear. I’m not saying Lydia was a great actress but managed to play crazy relatively well. I kept hearing the Matchbox 20 song “I’m not crazy/I’m just a little unwell” every time she was on the screen. Glad to see the new group also consists of idiots to keep the show consistent. Let’s sneak out at night time with few weapons and stand around in an open area while discussing our non-plan with walkers shuffling around twenty feet away after one of our group almost gets eaten. Great plan y'all! I think the actress who plays Tara has gotten slightly better over the years (and that was the lowest of low bars she set for herself) but I’m not looking forward to her being Maggie 2.0.
