  1. I thought the Georgie/Veronica and MeeMaw/Dr. Sturgis couple stories were kind of cute. And the George/Mary story was kind of funny. I liked Mary's admission that she was punishing George for "nothing, really". I also liked Dr. Sturgis' complete lack of concern over what Sheldon was up to.
  2. Let's face it, Penny looks good in anything. The effects of binge watching on chatting around the water cooler. I gave you a like just for that comment alone. You might also have said Dr. Rudy, but I'll prefer a good Tolkien reference any day of the week. It doesn't seem right that these two should accidentally fall into a Nobel Prize, over Sheldon and Amy's intentional work. Good that Sheldon didn't sell Amy down the river for the shot at the Nobel Prize, shows some growth. I'm thinking Season Three Sheldon probably would have done it without hesitation. Good also that the University head is supporting them.
  3. Yeah, he should have asked someone to fix it, or done it himself. He should have been self aware enough to know that he couldn't afford to have a meltdown under the circumstances. Now it appears his license is in jeopardy - but since he's the title character, I'm sure things will turn out all right :) His conversations were low-key, but the depictions of what was going on in his head were anything but.
  4. That does sound familiar, that he mentioned it a few times in passing. Maybe no one understood what he was talking about. As for asking one of the quarantined people to take it out, I don't see why he couldn't have done that. He didn't have any trouble loudly asking someone to perform CPR on the baby.
  5. I guess you're saying Palin declined to continue the tour in order to spare his friend Terry Jones. In the documentary about the show, the group was aware of Terry Jones memory issues. You can see him during the show reading his lines, like from the "Crunchy Frog" ingredients list. It's somewhat noticeable that he is talking a little slower than normal, but given the circumstances, I thought he did a good job. I didn't know that about Spamalot, so thanks for the info. Eric Idle continues to push the music stuff. Palin is probably my favorite Python, but Idle was an early favorite when I first saw the show on PBS back in the '70s. He had sort of familiar British rock star vibe about him, and of course we were all heavily into music back then. Funny he ended up focusing on music so much.
  6. Yeah, so he should have done something about it. Better than ending up on the floor in the fetal position.
  7. So Shaun should have done it, or asked someone else to.
  8. I would think the show would be getting good ratings, or it wouldn't be given the 8:00 time slot, the lead in for the Tuesday night shows. I didn't realize next week was the season finale already. Maybe if it gets renewed it will get more episodes. I hope so, because I'm enjoying it.
  9. I wish they would quit painting Dan as a guy everybody is afraid of (Emilio in this case). I know John Goodman is a big guy, but he's 66 years old, I doubt that he's interested in going around bashing heads all the time. I could see it when he was younger, but it kind of bugs me now.
  10. I would much rather listen to Sherloque's accent than to Thawne whispering everything he says.
  11. Watched the Adam Ruins Sitcoms last night. I thought the funniest part was the stereotype they didn't even mention: The sitcom family had a white father, a Latino mother, a black child, and an Asian child.
  12. And that's why you don't read your own x-rays. Hey, whatever did happen to that guy? I thought he was in hypoglycemic shock or whatever the last time we saw him.
  13. I couldn't figure out why they didn't do that in the first place.
  14. I kind of got the impression that they're wrapping his cancer storyline up. They'll take care of his meningitis, he'll get his license back, and maybe we'll see him back at work in some capacity. I find his character absolutely grating. I think this episode had the nicest thing I've ever heard him say: When the baby was born, he said to the father "Sounds like you have a new alarm clock, congratulations". Even that had a look at the dark cloud side to it lol. Next week looks like everybody involved in the quarantine are going to be at risk for losing their medical licenses. Wow, you try to do your job under horribly difficult and dangerous circumstances, and the establishment comes down on you for it. Something bad happened, so they have to make a scapegoat out of somebody. Sounds about right.
  15. Maybe it was being moved when you looked for it. I'm sure you've found it by now, but here's a direct link in case you didn't. It has 34 comments, pretty good for a TV show that only has aired one episode. http://forums.previously.tv/topic/89472-schooled/?tab=comments#comment-4980185
  16. Okay, saw the first episode of the new season (Bellas are Back in Action). I couldn't help but notice Nikki saying "I'm going to miss it" in reference to her relationship with John Cena. Note that she doesn't say she's going to miss him. Seemed to be more about the house and the public attention. Then she keeps saying it is so sad. Of course, she was the one who wanted to end the relationship, because she was "sad" in the relationship too. Seems like she always finds something to be unhappy about. Then when she wants to move to LA, she tells Brie she has to put herself first for once. And I'm thinking for once? When has she done otherwise? I know this sounds very negative on Nikki, maybe she just rubs me the wrong way. As for Brie, there was a well known botch during her comeback when she gave Liv Morgan a concussion by kicking her in the head. The storyline in this episode made me wonder if she had her mind back home and on making baby #2. Others will say nah, she's just a lousy wrestler.
  17. Yes, it's a topic under "Other S Shows". It did have it's own sub-forum, but for now they've moved it to being just a topic. Maybe if it gets popular enough, they will give it its own sub-forum again..
  18. Yeah, it mirrors the way memories really work.
  19. I was just thinking about all the TV shows there have been over the years that have been set in school. This is the latest in a long line. This wikipedia page lists many of them, and Schooled has not been added yet. Anybody who likes to edit wikipedia pages, feel free to add it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_television_series_about_school
  20. I saw the "Live in Aspen: One Down Five to Go" special, I've been going through all the Python stuff on Netflix. This was the film of the final show the Pythons gave in 2014 (they also have a documentary on this show on Netflix). I remember when this was broadcast, you could see it in certain theaters, and I really wanted to see it at the time, but couldn't for whatever reason. My impressions: It's touching the way they've kept Graham Chapman as part of the show. There would really be something missing if he weren't there, to be honest. The other Pythons are all in their 70s now, it's fortunate that they are all alive and in good health. Terry Jones supposedly has trouble remembering his lines now, so you can see him reading off little prompts here and there. John Cleese's voice was a little rough here. I think they had done four nights in a row at the O2, which is probably why. He seems to be in good humor though, so it doesn't really matter. If I'm going to criticize, I'll just say it: too many songs. It was Eric Idle's idea to turn the show into a musical. In recent years, he's almost exclusively focused his career on music, writing songs and the like. He was the one who developed the Spamalot musical. Actually, if there was a song I would have liked to have seen, the Camelot song would have been nice. But he's been the one pushing the music side of things, and at times it does work well. For instance, at one point a song ends just as John Cleese appears and slams down a bird cage, saying "I want to register a complaint", introducing the Parrot Sketch. Crowd cheers wildly, of course. Other times there are singers and dancers on stage for long stretches, which makes you wonder where the Pythons are. Changing costumes presumably. Ultimately it doesn't matter, of course, because the night is a celebration of Monty Python and also a farewell, and it succeeds on those tasks completely. One other note: Reportedly it was Michael Palin who did not want to extend the tour beyond this, or there would have been some more shows. Palin is usually such an agreeable sort, I can't help but wonder what his reasons were. Not that he owes us an explanation at this point.

Maybe Alara didn't think her mother or sister could have moved the gravity suit Ed was wearing. Males are physically stronger, usually. I liked the new esophagus guy all right, but I don't like the idea of Alara leaving. Maybe she'll be back. And I knew the present was going to be a jar of pickles. They gave Alara leaving the proper sentimental tone, but she nodded "yes" way too many times. It was distracting.
  22. The coach and Principal already feel like deeper characters than they did on The Goldbergs.
  23. A lot of shows start slow before they find themselves, but I thought they started here with a strong episode. Tim Meadows was very strong, and this is the most I've ever liked Coach Mellor. The Matt Ryan reveal just continues from the Goldbergs, they never fail to amaze me with things from their show that really happened. I got the impression watching that we will be seeing the niece as a recurring character, and I see from comments about that is most likely true. And Lainey was good too.
  24. That was the best part of the show IMO. They made the engagement breakoff about as painless as they could, by making everybody secretly not wanting it all along. The downside to this is that it all seemed kind of forced at the last minute. It's not like they had shown signs of this all along. Bringing The Wedding Singer in as real events as opposed to being a movie was an interesting idea, but I found it distracting. Overall, I didn't care for it. If that movie had been made in the '80s, it would have just been another background reference. Adam must have really liked that movie to include it even though it was from the late '90s.
  25. That's the one where the crowd is all booing and they have them storm the set. One of those controversial pieces that kept Monty Python subversive. I like that they explained that later in the show by saying that someone had intentionally given him a wrong and naughty translation book.
