  1. I liked the way the one guy used the grenade to take out the last few stragglers. I have a hard time with Fuches ending up on kind of a high note, since he had managed to consistently draw my hatred through most of the series. I didn't have much hope for Barry to get out alive, but at least there was a happy ending for John, who got to believe his dad was a hero. I really enjoyed this show, one of the best series I've seen.
  2. I had originally thought Barry and Sally were in witness protection, but it turns out they were just on the lam.
  3. The nerve of you to say that! Eh, people get jaded. Tell him that at a different point in his life, and he might react differently.
  4. I don't really understand why people get angry about other couples' age differences. First off, why do you care, and how is it any of your business? And besides, if he can marry/date/keep up with someone 38 years younger, I say more power to him. I loved that line! Something like "What, did you just come from Margaret Dumont's house?". That's based on a real thing? I figured Larry made it up, as some sort of weird social etiquette among the stars. I guess when you talk to people for a living, you want your privacy.
  5. If Barry has any sort of influence over where he's living, maybe he wants this kind of setting because you can see anything coming in such a place, it's highly defensible. I wasn't a big fan of the episode, it's kind of dull. And you can see that the series is winding down, and things will be coming to a head shortly, and probably not in a particularly happy way. This was like the calm before the storm. I've never really liked time jumps so much anyway, it's a little jarring.
  6. Wasn't expecting the time skip. I guess Sally agreed to the witness protection. I wouldn't have guessed her going off with Barry, not sure he deserves it. Poor Gene, unknowingly shooting his son. Hader (or whoever) can sure come up with some messed up stuff.
  7. Larry is always dating these much younger women on the show, so I had to look up his actual wife. According to Google, they have a 38 year age difference, so I guess the show reflects reality.
  8. You were sad that he pulled through? Tough crowd. Off the text chain for you! Funny thing is, during the credits I read that entire text chain, except the very last message, which was kind of long, because it was fading out. I guess that was where they revealed that he pulled through. I missed the key message!
  9. I figured out what's been bothering me about this season, aside from all the over the top situations. Except for a few of the early episodes, the main characters are no longer interacting, they've all got their own solo stories going on. I miss Barry interacting with Cousineau, and with Sally. I miss the acting class. Fuches can just go ahead and be killed as far as I'm concerned. When Sally had that blowup against Natalie, I wondered if she might think about using Barry to take some "pictures of her sleeping" or whatever. Hopefully he doesn't replace her dog with a slightly different one.
  10. Are they waiting for the beignets or for the advice? It's weird seeing Mitch always in that same pose, with his head at the same angle. Makes you wonder if he has some sort of health issue.
  11. I guess that be a close relative of "scenes that are too dark to see anything in" - accents that are too thick to understand.
  12. I absolutely do. However, most of the scientific characters are Jewish (not sure about the actors), maybe they will count that. But I'm not sure if Hollywood is pro or anti-Jewish at the moment.
  13. I liked the use of black and white footage in the film. I'm a sucker for this kind of thing, like the use of different types of film looks for different time periods in The Aviator. I've only seen the film once, but IIRC it was used for Strauss' scenes. My initial impression was that it indicates his nefarious position in the film, but I've seen other interpretations, like black and white thinking, situations of historical significance, etc. Since people were talking about the Oscar awards, I wonder if this film looks diverse enough for current Hollywood. Guess we'll find out tonight.
  14. I loved the customer service line for the bomb detonation app. "Sounds like we've been successful" lol. Barry must be leaving a ton of clues behind him with most of these activities, but I guess part of the joke is that the law enforcement is so hopelessly inept. If I were Mr. Cousineau, I'd be wary of spending that money, not knowing where it came from. I'd be worried that it would be marked or the serial numbers would be documented.
  15. That puts lots of images in my head. When they make the movie about Oak Island (after they find the treasure, of course), I want Nicholas Cage to play Rick.
  16. I see some people are talking about how or if the show has changed, and I think it has. There is a different feel to it. But I think the problem is that it's simply become too over the top. Which is not to say I'm not enjoying it anymore, I am, just not quite as much as I used to.
  17. I liked the little person firebug guy Nat. At this point, I would much rather be watching a series about him. I was looking forward to this series, and seeing how Michonne and Rick would get back together, but the reality doesn't match the expectation. The new group was a nice surprise, but the rest of the series sounds dull as dishwater to me.
  18. Wait, you mean he hasn't gone off the rails yet?
  19. Interesting point, because it seems to me that they go to that well a lot, about how hot the host is. Especially with the male hosts mostly.
  20. I've been binge watching this show, first time through. Wow, it's great. I always did like Bill Hader. Anyway. This episode seemed to have a very different feel from the first two seasons, a lot of changes what with Sally's success, the acting class being gone, etc. If it wasn't only the third season, I'd be worried about the show jumping the shark, but it was still enjoyable. Just not sure where they're planning to go with this. They're going to keep Cousineau around knowing Barry killed his girlfriend? Oh well, guess I'll find out soon enough.
  21. Yeah, she was kind of dumb not to realize how stupid and hateful people are these days. I was going to add "about politics", but there's really nothing political involved there, it's tangential at most, it's just a birthday party theme.
  22. Not familiar with Sydney Sweeney, but that's the case with most of the hosts these days. I must be getting out of touch. Oh well. It struck me it must be an interesting life to look like she does, where she's such an obvious personification of what the opposite sex finds attractive. I'm sure it's a bit of a double edged sword at times, but it's got to be a big help in her profession. Anyway, fairly average show. I think I might have even laughed a few times. It was once or twice, I lost count.
  23. There used to be a little chihuahua that terrorized the neighborhood. A little ankle biter.
  24. The good news is that if you want to find out about this stuff, you can go watch the earlier seasons of The Walking Dead, and those were the best years of the series.
