  1. I disagree, he was being a prick. Shaun told him over and over and over he didn't want or need a therapist, but Glassman kept pushing it on him and even got him one anyway. It was almost as tiresome as the cancer storyline. That's not even the only example from last year, it's just the one that comes to mind. Glassman treated Shaun like a child. The difference is that Sean is interested in the medical stuff, for whatever reason. I wouldn't view Shaun as the national representative for autistic people, but rather as an individual with his own traits and quirks. What you're leaving out here is that Shaun has no experience in this sort of thing, and is therefore more vulnerable to catching feelings. How many females do you suppose have granted him that kind of attention? Of course, that doesn't make it Lea's problem.
  2. I'm sure she did, but I doubt that her first thought was that he was stuck in a locker. That whole incident sounds like a story in itself. Did Georgie know that they had gotten into that altercation with the bully? If so, Sheldon's parents or the police might have questioned the bully. Sheldon would probably characterize it as being in there all night whether or not it actually was, or if he had been let out around five or six.
  3. I actually fell asleep and had to rewind part of it. The only part I really liked was Stuart and his girlfriend thinking some sort of alien plague had been released, and that they were going to have to repopulate the earth. Come to think of it, I'd watch that show. Stuart would probably last about five minutes in the apocalypse though. I guess I also appreciated Amy trying to talk Sheldon out of ratting his friends out. I'm almost surprised he didn't. Leonard was gross sneezing all over everything. Wasn't he taught to cover his mouth and nose when he sneezes?
  4. Again, he treated Shaun like crap last year too, trying to force that therapist on him for one example. So it's not just the cancer, he's always acted like a prick. Lol, I think you're right.
  5. Lol, I was thinking the same thing. Veronica didn't even care to know who shot him, and she paid Jughead to find out. It's funny to watch Veronica, a high school student, collecting protection money for her crime family. And it's funny to see Hermione answering questions from Jughead, a high school student who fancies himself a detective from the '20s. This episode mainly served to feed my Archie hate. He begs a job from his father, then gets on the job and tries to get into a fight with the foreman because he wants him to take a mandatory break? What an ungrateful jackass. This episode did serve to clear up that Veronica's bar DOES serve alcohol, however.
  6. That car doesn't look that bad for being flipped off of a mountain. I still get surprised by the things on the show that really happened. I liked Murray's "so mad he was laughing deliriously" reaction. I guess they let Mellor go so he can work on Schooled instead. I didn't actually expect him to leave. Does every episode need to be centered around a movie? It's wearing thin.
  7. I knew someone would take me to task for my comments, and that's okay. I admit they're probably a little unfair, but I'm just thinking out loud here, she's coming off as a little sleazy to me. I'm a little old fashioned, I guess. But I agree entirely that Shaun has agreed to this whole arrangement, so he has completely enabled the entire thing.
  8. I feel like she's behaving in a sleazy manner. I'm trying to be open minded about it, I know people have sex. But this is classic hurtful bad girl behavior. She's put the nice guy (Shawn) who has a crush on her (I guess) deep into the friendzone and gains all the benefits of that arrangement, while parading her line of sexual boy toys in front of him. Again, I'm trying not to be judgemental about it, and Shawn's enabled it too, it just comes off as sleazy.
  9. I have a confession, this is my first season watching this show. But I guess I picked up bits of it by osmosis or something, because I remember them talking about the drains. I don't remember them ever talking about excavating them, but they're part of the story. But what's baffling is they don't seem to have much interest in them now that they've supposedly found one. Seems to me that if you follow the drain (excavate it), it would lead you directly to the money pit. The fact that they haven't further excavated the drain they allegedly found, or looked for further drains, makes me think that what they found isn't a drain after all, but just a happenstance triangular arrangement of rocks. But hopefully they'll talk more about the drains in the future. Getting back to the "It's just a dock" theory, would the "U shaped structure" have some sort of use in a dock? Like as something to tie boats off to, or to put rowboats on? I don't really know anything about t he subject, but maybe someone here does?
  10. "A dock? On Oak Island? Perhaps left by the Vikings or the Knights Templar? So their ships could haul treasure?". Seriously, it looks like you were right, with that boat slip they uncovered on the last show. What I'm suspicious about are the so called finger drains. They showed one shot of two rocks together forming a triangle and called that a drain. But there's been nothing about excavating it further or about finding any sign of the other four drains. If the drains aren't there, the whole story is likely BS. "Drains? On Oak Island? Could they be part of an ancient booby trap designed to flood the money pit?".
  11. After Glassman recovers, he's going to get his own spinoff series, The Dick Doctor. Good point about how isolated his character is. You'd think he would have remained in touch with a few of the hospital staff, or that they would be concerned about him beyond merely asking Shawn how he's doing.
  12. My impression was that A Quiet Place was Bird Box with sound. There are similarities, such as having to suspend disbelief about certain plot holes. But I didn't think either one was a rip off of the other.
  13. Yeah, of all his movies, they pulled out Mr. Tumnus. Interesting choice. That skit did make me wonder if there really is a group of young fan girls who see the character as a non threatening early crush.
  14. Oh, that's very interesting. I can't see Erica as a doctor though. Not that I can see Barry as one either. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
  15. "Lea wants sex. I'm going to have sex with Lea. I like Jake. We can all be friends together. We will all have sex together". That's really where I thought it was going for awhile. I'd like to know if Shaun is really jealous but hiding it, or if he really doesn't care that Lea has a boyfriend. Or maybe he'd prefer that she didn't, but from a practical standpoint he prefers that she is there no matter what the circumstances. But if that's the case, what emotions are he feeling about it, if any? It's really hard to tell.
  16. Agree it is difficult to figure out what Shaun is really feeling. The other autistic couple almost made things more confusing, since their relationship was so odd. My biggest fear was that the whole thing was headed toward a three way with Shaun, Lea, and Jake. That's great, but Glassman was a dick before he got cancer. So it's not just the cancer. I thought the mother/daughter relationship got patched up a little too easily and conveniently. Wow, it turns out the mom did appreciate her musical interests after all!
  17. I can't keep track of it. Some people have theorized that the show isn't linear (it's nineteen eighty-something), so we shouldn't expect chronological story lines.
  18. I thought it was a fairly weak episode. I probably liked the air traffic controllers with the accents the best. Too bad too, because I like James McAvoy. I've said repeatedly that a lot of the time, they don't even bother to write a joke, they just make a political statement. I think it's lazy writing, or at best misguided. Funny how so many of us had similar experiences. My first thought was "Hey, that's John Goodman. No wait, it's Robert DeNiro! Nope, it's Steve Martin". I thought Steve was looking a little frail at the end of the show, hard to believe he's 73 now. Looks great for his age though.
  19. I'm sure. And I'm also sure a lot of actors do a lot of things that aren't much fun either. Remember the stories of how miserable Jim Carey was in the Grinch makeup? Supposedly it was very painful. But in Carey's case at least, he was being paid very, very well. I'm not sure what kind of compensation KJ Apa is getting. A wig would help! Maybe it's not in the CW's budget though, a bottle of Clairol is probably cheaper :)
  20. I found her antics amusing when the show first started. They made her character interesting, and unique, even if I wouldn't want to deal with her in real life. As time goes on though, I agree they are starting to wear thin. Like you say, they've kind of painted themselves into a corner by now. They could try to introduce some "growth" to her character, but I don't know... She did give the axe back, after all - but that may have just been because she got caught.
  21. How do women put up with it then? I bet over half the female population changes their hair color in some way or other.
  22. Not sure who it was, but it must be difficult for an actress to portray giving birth. As a Beatles fan, I wanted to note that the title "All the World is Birthday Cake" is a lyric taken from George Harrison's song It's All Too Much, which is in the Yellow Submarine film. A somewhat obscure song (for the Beatles), so it was nice to see that. This is just a stupid TV show, but it's amazing how much it can draw you in. I really wanted to punch that prefect in the face. I agree with some others that the solution to the whole situation seemed a little too pat. I'm surprised they acted so quickly to the new star in the sky, but obviously they put a huge emphasis on astronomy, so I guess it makes sense.
  23. I caught that line. And yet he can't pronounce the word "triglycerides". Maybe he's running some sort of long con, where he's feigning stupidity for whatever reason, but he's secretly brilliant underneath. They did show in one episode that he had a good bedside manner, so there is that.
