The most offensive aspect of Angela is her superior 'I own you' controlling attitude toward Michael. Bossing him about, yelling and pointing fingers in his face like she has a right. I'd rather he returned to the US and left her there. He's nicer.

I agree. She might be built like a line backer and spewing venom all the time, but without the camera crew and a mild mannered Nigerian man she would probably never be seen again. Stomping about that empty beach bar alone in the dark of night... even at a resort. Dangerous. I've switched sides in the Pole/Kareeny debacle. Pole obviously has some health issue with bones, knees or hips or something. He walks/runs like an old man. Kareeny is a slovenly sullen brat. And the streets of developing countries are sooo depressing. I wonder if Kreeny's medical emergency is what we all think it is? I wish Jon would shave that dreadful cave man beard. Looks like he started to at the temples and then changed his mind. The gap between head hair and face hair looks weird.

These Spoilers Suck: Bitter Speculation About SPN Spoilers
Pondlass1 replied to catrox14's topic in Supernatural
^^ Something Jensen is very apt at bringing. The cold look Demon Dean gives Crowley sends shivers down my spine no matter how many times I watch that scene. But Supernatural has moved into the realms of lightweight. Plus all those fans that want Dean as Dean and the bros joined at the hip and hunting together (family and all that) are very raucous. I don't know why Michael would be talking to Sister Jo except that they want to tickle our fancies. But it looks like boring ol' Heaven will feature in the new season. SJ has a management plan to keeps the lights on I guess. -
That hat! I think Jesen’s been watching too much Peaky Blinders. I wonder how Michael chooses to dress? He’s got a great body to adorn. Does he drive Baby? Does Dean have any influence at all?
-
Ages have been wonky on this Show in many episodes. Where Cole sees Dean kill his father he's supposed to be 10 years (?) younger but when we meet him as an adult he appears same age or even older than Dean. Sam playing with a toy airplane? - that was laughable. How did that get by vetting? The actor portraying Dean in Bad Boys did a really good job with mannerisms but looked nothing like Dean. Was this supposed to take place when Dean was 16? Because at 16 I'm pretty sure Dean was well over 6 foot and certainly not a virgin and Sam at age 12 was feeling the brunt of dad's temper now that he didn't have Dean to rage at. That's why Sam missed Dean. The only good thing to come out of this episode was that Dean won medals for wrestling. But at least the actors on this series are the age of their characters. It's not as silly as TVD where the Salvatore bros are supposed to be high school age at the beginning (vamps never age) yet totally looked in their mid-30s by the time the show ended. LOL.

Anyone here in the path of Florence? Please be safe and don't wait to evacuate if you can. Take pets with you.

I did notice Hazel, Tarik and Dean all wearing the same t-shirts from a tourist attraction they'd been to - so they obviously had gotten along well enough to buy the t-shirt. And then there's Pole's short/long haircut. I've also noticed the level of liquid in glasses or food plates on or off the table at restaurants during filming. Bits and pieces of conversations are obviously spliced together. This show is being heavily edited to make us think a certain way when it's probably not like that at all. Most of these characters are larger than life fools anyway without all the manipulation by the producers and editing department. Certain things are real of course. Hazel is desperate to get out of poverty and Michael is realizing more and more what kind of hell he's gotten himself into. And Jesse and Darcy are drama queens.
-
Why are Darcy and Jesse staying in an Air-bnb and not at her home I wonder? Their bickering is exhausting. They are both ridiculous. Angela is intimidating and a really odd shape - round like an apple. I agree a loose fitting Nigerian dress would be a bit more flattering and comfortable. The green card is costing Michael more than anyone else in the history of the show. Even Azan. I think he'll stick around for the TLC salary but will look elsewhere for a ticket to Trumpland once this season ends. Thing is - he seems like a decent guy. Extra long hair pulled in a pony tail is causing Hazel to lose her hairline and I think she's aware of it. If she stays she won't look like Angelina for long. Poverty is not kind to a woman's looks. At least she is honest to the camera about just wanting a ticket out. Kareeeny's makeup entered the room before she did. Wow!! That was some thick makeup job! So, can they return to the States now? She won't be much bothered about getting that green card - her laziness seems real and not just a TLC drama tactic. Little Lucy is the sweetest baby ever. The cliff top proposal was obviously set up by TLC. But it was the only pleasant scene in the episode. Some folk here have suggested Jon is the dad- and I'm beginning to wonder about that too. Rachel seemed ok with traveling to Paddington Station after a night on the plane - as if she'd done it before. Why are there so many damn commercials???? This has to be the cheapest show to produce. Airfare, hotels, etc., for camera crew and I don't know how much the participants get paid - not much I would think. But every 5 minutes there's commercials!!
-
Dean's issues - even at the beginning - are rarely followed through or given consequence. Maybe it's my Dean bias, but it seems so apparent to me that any Dean trauma gets swept under the carpet. Something's eating Dean is a running thread through most seasons. But my biggest gripe with this Dabb bunch is that main characters have evolved into pure stereotypes. Dabb sees them not as a complex crew each with their own foibles - but as one-note characters in a TV adventure story. Dean eats all day and not very bright, but he's brave and impulsive. Sam researches and patiently tolerates wild and crazy Dean antics. Cas - well, I don't know what to make of Cas these days. And my biggest beef that I complain about all the time - is that everyone and their dog are overnight super hunters. Sam and Dean are nothing special now. It's a fun job, not lonely or dangerous or self sacrificing at all. And Dabb has his favs. It's way more fun to write for them. In fact Sam and Dean now swirl around the peripherals. instead of being the focus. I hope Kripke returns and writes the final half of the final season. I know he had his problems but he at least cared for his brothers- he created them after all.

I can't make out what Dabb says? I appreciate the Jensen closeups very much. -
I must endeavour to be as gracious and well-informed in my argument as @AwesomO4000. Must be a bit lonely as this is a heavily weighted Dean board. But you remain pleasant, fair and educated in any rebuttal or defense of your guy. Sam would be proud. A thousand essays could be written on the fascinating bitch/jerk dynamic between these brothers. I might want to strangle him sometimes, but I wouldn't want Sam any other way. :)

The job is a dream to be sure. And now only 20 episodes. They'll be done by end of February I'd guess. Maybe he'll find a project during the 4 month hiatus? I don't really want Supernatural to end. What will I do with myself? But I have this sneaky feeling the thrill is slipping away and being replaced by a thirst for challenge and change,

What I'm about to say should probably be in the Horrible Opinions thread, but I'm wondering in his heart of hearts if Jensen isn't seriously considering moving on. Similar to Mark S, he must recognise his storylines are not going anywhere or making any impact on the overall arc - Dean/Micheal will likely be over and forgotten by Christmas. Dean/Michael doesn't fit with MOTW format and apparently it's taxing to write a story without Dean. He's voice his opinions about the shortened Demon Dean SL several times and then there's the marionette farce. He says these things out loud in front of crowds of fans. So he feels secure and there's not been any backlash from TPTB as far as we know. He's also mentioned his keen desire to portray some sort of action hero (or big bad) in a film or bigger network than the CW. It's fun and friendly on the Supernatural set but I think he's ready to move on. Hope he only signs one-year contracts. He's given us the iconic Dean Winchester but the character is being slowly devalued by Dabb & Co. Move on up, Jensen.

S10.E22: Reunion Part 3
Pondlass1 replied to OnceSane's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
The funniest bit for me was when Ramona suddenly stood up and started slapping her thigh and no one took a damn bit of notice. It was so odd. And then Ramona gets a zoomed in closeup of the wonky eye. No one else got a close up like this - and it was flashed on the screen several times....so it was intended to be cruel. They all spit such nasty things. It was draining to watch. And after all this time I still don't get why Beth and Carol hate each other so much. But now that Carol is gone I guess Beth will have to find someone else to zero in on. What a way to earn a living! So sad. Wow! - alcohol is cheap in the States. We pay 3 times as much here in Canada. -
I don't believe Dean trusts willy nilly. Especially at first meeting. He's leery to the extreme. It's his MO IMO. And I don't know that he completely trusts Castiel. He tells him not to do anything stupid when he goes off somewhere. Let's face it, Cas is not the sharpest knife in the drawer at the best of times. Plus Cas has let him down or lied or put him in danger over the course of the series. But we all see things differently. And admittedly I'm not a big Cas fan ( I was at first). I'd really love if the relics in the bunker could feature more in story lines. Otherwise why was everyone so keen to get inside, plus the bunker is kind of redundant unless they make it special. It contains a wealth of artifacts that could be fun. It's not so much challenging for them to write episodes without Dean... it's challenging because they have to write a new character played by Jensen. They can't just rely on the actor to do some Deanisms to fulfill the plot. They're out of their comfort zone and have to actually be creative and fresh.

The UK is an expensive place with very high taxes. However free health care and a very generous welfare system will help Jon and Rachel, although they probably will be living with sister or mum for a long time. Jon will be out at the pub with his friends. It rains a lot and I think Rachel is from a sunshine State. She needs to think long and hard about this relationship. It's not just the fights. It's the complete change in lifestyle.
-
The thing with Jon and Rachel is that he's not going to get into the States with that record. So it's the other way around in this instance. Rachel will be applying to emigrate to the UK if they do decide to get married. How does she feel about that? I cannot even envision Darcy and Jesse ever having a long-term relationship, but if they both decided to make a go of it because they enjoy misery and hunger- would they even live in the States? Amsterdam is a beautiful city. What would Jesse do once he got his green card? Riding around on a high horse isn't exactly a paying job. No one discusses anything of importance on this show. As much as I'm enjoying all the crazy... it would be interesting to see actual folk going through the 90 day process because they're in love and have thought things through like adults.

Once established in the US Hazel will bring over her family one by one. I don't know if she has brothers and sisters, but they'll all end up in the States, mom and dad too. She probably would be a decent hard working girl once she gets her green card and maybe a good mother to the children. But this is not love. This is charity work, same as sponsoring a child in a poor country.

When Michael said something like the man in the relationship should be the boss and Ang tossed back her fried beached hair, took a long drag on the Marlboro and said 'it ain't happening' in her gravel voice... I worried for Michael and I realized reality TV can be way more entertaining than any network scripted show. I understand we're being manipulated to a certain extent with editing, etc., but you simply can't write this stuff. I'm hoping she gets to bring him back to the States. It'll be must see TV. Yikes, the doubt in Rachel's eyes when Jon asked if she trusted him. I wish he'd chop off that dreadful Rasputin beard. It's scary. Something is definitely up with Kareeny. She doesn't even look or act like the same girl this season. Darcy is literally dripping desperation from every pore. Jesse is a pompous ass. They have become boring. Why are they all so messy? Ang has clothes heaped all over the floor. Darcy and Jesse were stepping over piles of clothes at the hotel. And Kareeny is just a messy toddler. I don't stay in fancy hotels, but I do hang my clothes in the closet provided. This season seems to have taken a bit of a darker turn somehow.

I was kind of hoping for some Dean and Michael inside Dean's head scenes. The wrangling for power, exchanges, - a archangel and a human hunter . Would be interesting... for me anyway. They've gone inside heads many times before. I'd rather that than just showing random flashbacks and Dean could be interacting with maybe Michael's old meat suit rather than his own image. Which I know is a lot of extra work for Jensen. I don't know if Christian is available, but he certainly has chemistry and can hold his own when up against an actor like Jensen. (Some actors, especially female for some reason, seem to fade into woodwork in scenes with Jensen) Dean hunting with the likes of Ketch or Benny (or whoever), it's different than with Sam. More like equals in the foxhole. Because Dean must protect Sam at all times so their hunts together are unbalanced. It's interesting to see the brothers interact with others while on a hunt other than each other all the time. We know their MO. Dean drives, Sam researches. They do the FBI bit, then either Sam saves Dean or vice versa. But on a hunt with another maybe untrustworthy companion. It's a bit more of a tension pull for the viewer. And, unlike Sam, Dean trusts no one. Hope to see more of Ketch and Dean as frenemies (but not Ketch saving Dean all the time) . The actor seems to get along with everyone on set.

I loved this line too, especially in the context of what was happening on screen it worked. Was this a Jensen ad lib?

Supernatural Bitterness & Unpopular Opinions: You All Suck
Pondlass1 replied to mstaken's topic in Supernatural
Very interesting posts. I'm wish I was more of a connoisseur of the Show as so many here. I forget a lot of things. It could have happened. Of the two parents I prefer John, I 'get' him. But both were far from perfect during their marriage. Apparently Mary left the family home and went on at least one hunt (to Canada of all places) and John wasn't exactly faithful in the marriage. There's a scene where young Dean is comforting mom while she's on the phone (before John became a revenge crazy hunter) so he had a wandering eye. And then there's Adam who, apparently, got more dad time than Sam and Dean. I guess no family is perfect. -
S10.E21: Reunion Part 2

The housewife named Ramona looks like she has a glass eye. Did they glue the false eyelashes on too tight? Considering all the yelling and finger pointing and text reading I found this episode kinda boring.
