  1. Flashback Felicity: For the last time, I am not interested in buying a fake ID! Bye! My mom says hi. Felicity: I am running out of expletives! That one is becoming part of my vocabulary.
  2. I do prefer season 5 to season 4, though. After having some time with the characters, I did come to care about them, although never as much as Riggins, Tyra, Landry and Matt.
  3. I actually don't think that was weird. I think he was deflecting and trying to comfort Stefan by being his usual quippy self. Plus, Stefan was basically half of why he wanted to go back. I think he was entitled to his brotherly bonding moment. I do find it worrisome that there is no mention of Bonnie in the promo. I think it's interesting that Damon headed straight for the Salvatore family crypt. Either he thought Stefan would be there, or he wanted to do a little depressed talking to dead relatives of his own. And maybe apologize to Uncle Nephew Zach for killing his girlfriend. 2 questions for viewers with better memories than me: 1) Do Alaric and Damon ever refer to each other as their best friend when they're both alive, or does nostalgia have to kick in first? 2) Was this episode the first time we've heard Stefan address Damon as "brother?" At least in present day? Because I thought it was always the other way around.
  4. Every now and then, Paul Wesley shocks me with how young he can look when Stefan is emotionally vulnerable. Those moments where I'm just like, "yes, this is totally an emotionally complex character who on some level is still stuck at age seventeen." That hug with Damon tonight was one of them. He really did just look like a lost kid who just needed his big brother.
  5. Does Damon love Bonnie now? Because I would be greatly amused if the triangle ended because Damon chose Bonnie and Stefan chose Caroline and Elena chose to be happy for her friends and go to med school. So at this point Bonnie has sacrificed her life for every member of the main cast, right? She's nothing if not consistent. Salvatore hug! Have they hugged since 1864? God, that was beautiful! Like Winchester levels of pretty brotherly hugging.
  6. That was fun. I'm always happy to see Wentworth Miller. I knew I was going to end up really liking Cisco even though I also am easily annoyed by him. I started freaking out at the possibility of Wells hurting him. This show does really well with the offscreen comedy of Barry getting hurt on the treadmill. It's a pretty funny running gag. (Yeah, I went there. I regret nothing!)
  7. Felicity: Stay safe! And I'm talking to air now. Which is odd. I'm still doing it! Felicity: (knuckle crack) That was not as badass as I pictured! I'm screwing this one up a little: Felicity: If I had a nickel for every time the Arrow didn't want me around, I'd be as rich as Oliver Queen. Who I mention because he's the richest person I know. Or used to be. Cisco: Couldn't shoot him if I wanted to. This is actually the STAR Lab vacuum cleaner. With a lot of LEDs.
  8. I thought this was the best episode of the season. I like Damon/Bonnie more every episode. Him sticking up for her even when they were fighting is beautiful. I can't wait to see them when they get back to the regular world. I hate to love Damon, but Ian makes me. Damn those expressive eyes of his! Kai was creepy. Kudos to the actor. Are we really going to act like that was the worst thing Damon's ever done? I wanted grungier 90s Stefan. I've been waiting five years for those flashbacks! Stefan and Elena one-upping each other in the proposal was hilarious. Why do they only reinvent themselves every 30 years? I figure they'd be good for 10 or 12 tops. I don't think it'd be any easier for me to buy Paul Wesley as 47 than 17. I loved the Alaric/Jeremy conversation and the acknowledgment of just how twisted their lives are. Didn't miss Caroline, and Liz looked surprisingly believable as 20 years younger. I like seeing Damon liked her even then. Are Gilberts genetically predispositioned to fall for Salvatores or what?
  9. The Barry/Joe and Barry/Dad scenes are reminding me just how well Berlanti can do heartwarming family drama. It made me break out the Everwood dvds. Damn you, Berlanti! I keep waiting for someone to tell Barry that he's beyond friendzoned. He's siblingzoned.
  10. Ok, today's episode was the best so far. Cassidy being all "I told you, Dick. I jumped." was hilarious. I was really looking forward to that cameo, and now I realize it's been a while since I saw Kyle Gallner in anything. He has aged. Madison's actress was at her absolute best. She works better as comedy instead of high school alpha bitch. The best part of all was Keith eating the death sandwich, choking, and then taking another bite.
  11. I remembered that line as being funnier. It does, however, match up with one of my Golden Girls favorites: "Sonny Bono, get off my lanai."
  12. I would forgive so much if the clothes could be that pretty all the time.
  13. I feel like intent has a lot to do with it. Maya frequently says mean things to Lucas, but not out of dislike. She called Farkle weird, but her meaning was that there was nothing wrong with that. Lucas has said the name was strange and expressed surprise but not actually made fun of it. I think we can't know exactly if it was bullying without hearing what Billy said, but based on Farkle's reaction, I assume it was. I don't think "you're nothing" can be taken lightly even by friends. Farkle sounded broken when he told Riley what happened. I don't think a one time comment would have shaken his confidence in himself and his friendship with Lucas the way it did. And I have to say, for a character I found kind of annoying at first, I think Corey Fogelmanis has settled into the character well and gave a good performance in this episode. He and Peyton Meyer's Lucas have come a long way since the pilot.
  14. I thought the ending was cheesy, but I liked most of it. I liked Lucas's assertion that intelligent people don't resort to violence, but that he and Cory both almost went there. Good comedy and believable human behavior. I agree that Lucas and Farkle are probably best friends. We know they hang out together without the girls, and while Farkle has his nerdy friends, Lucas has never been shown with anyone else. Plus, I think this is the first time either of them realized they were best friends. One thing I hope this show copies from Boy Meets World is getting rid of the handshake things after the first season. Ugh. Stop it. They're only funny a couple of times. Ava interrupted Cory/Topanga nuzzling time. She must be destroyed.
  15. I love the Bonnie and Damon relationship. It's absolutely fascinating, and I'm always a sucker for any acknowledgement of them actually liking each other. The grocery shopping trip was adorable. I want a gif of them trying on sunglasses. And the moment where Bonnie got her magic and told him to run was great. On the other hand, how is Damon able to keep befriending people he's killed/tried to kill? I love when Paul Wesley gets to play dangerous but not evil/ripper Stefan. That's my favorite kind of Stefan, and it always will be.
  16. Elena: That is a conversation to have over Jello shots. Enzo: Good news, Caroline, I've thwarted a vampire hunter. Bad news, Stefan has become a vampire hunter.
  17. I really liked the connection between Joe and Barry in this episode. Jesse L. Martin really brought his A-game. Between him and Tom Cavanaugh, I'm thoroughly impressed with the more adult actors they've cast. Was the "but you already know all that" at the beginning a dig at Arrow? Because if so, great. I like the lighter tone of this series. William Sadler! I'm becoming more convinced that Wells is really on Barry's side. Which I like, considering I assumed "villain" the first time I saw the pilot and it took comments here to make me see an alternative.
  18. Barry: Joe, I'm sorry. Joe: I'm starting to think "Joe, I'm sorry" is my actual name, as often as you say it. Barry: I promised you I wouldn't. I keep my promises Joe: Keep lying like that, you're liable to get struck by lightning again. Cisco: You got blood on my suit.
  19. Yes. I also was reminded of the time Shawn's dad was the janitor and he and Cory stopped making a mess of the school. I wonder if they'll do something original after they use up all the BMW plots.
  20. I did! That was Kay. Danielle was in Sky High, so both have backgrounds in superheroics.
  21. I loved Lucas's "You don't know, man! You weren't there!" followed by "I wouldn't trade this for a trip to the moon." "That was an elective?!" Another thing I liked, even if it did seem out of character, was Lucas's absolute joy at the potato mountain, while the others looked grossed out. One thing that bugged: Lucas and Farkle just threw away the plates that we know get washed. I thought Maya and Riley were going to jump up and yell at them for throwing away dishes.
  22. Can't Roland just kiss Marian? Parent/child love is one of true love's forms. Emma and Henry, speak up!
  23. I feel like the past season and a half they've been trying to balance out the lack of Emma/Charming scenes in the first two seasons. I love it, but I miss Mary Margaret/Emma bonding. They used to be best buddies and now they're not! I love protective Emma. Her speech to Hook is exactly what I posted in another thread awhile back. I love their budding romance. Hook's had the best character development of all the villains. It just occurred to me: Where the hell is Kristoff? Is he back in Arendelle? It seems no one else came from that country in the curse, or they would have figured out the ice wall faster. Anna and Kristoff being separated is just tragic. I wish someone else would care. I like that Henry is old enough to get sent to Regina's vault alone. He was in on the "what do we do next?" discussion without being dismissed or seeming like his childish overeager old self. Maybe that's a good sign. ETA: I also loved seeing Regina in casual wear for the first time. Lana looked pretty.
  24. Hook: It's a device used for talking to people - I don't know! I push the Emma button and she answers! Usually.
  25. Somehow I found Wells' "Yeah, keep the sweatshirt" even funnier.
