  1. It looks like he kisses her on the cheek to me, which makes sense because Shawn's done that at other times later in the series. Of course, from the angle Eric and the audience is shown it's kind of ambiguous, but I believe Shawn's claim that it's innocent.
  2. Aw, I liked Taylor (in season 4). She and Ryan were sweet together, and Ryan having to deal with her neuroses was a nice step up from all of Marissa's problems, and she brought a lightness to Ryan when he really needed it. She's very Paris Gellar, but a kinder, caring (admittedly less funny) Paris Gellar. I just watched the finale, which is a really great hour of television. I love the way the fourth season cements the Cohen-Atwood-Cooper-Robertson family. I think they used Marissa's death to bring the other characters together and create new stories in a way they couldn't have had she lived. It added a lot of depth for Ryan, Summer and Julie. Ryan and Julie worry about what the other will go through if Julie and Frank become a couple. She tried to frame him for attempted murder and sent him on a crazy revenge murder mission and he still thinks she deserves better than Frank Atwood. She finally admits she's put that kid through enough and can't do anything else to hurt him. There's other bits of character development I really like about season four, like Seth becoming less selfish and helping Ryan come back to the family, making sure he doesn't kill Volchok, and rescuing him in "Night Moves" (stupidity that made the situation worse aside). Then he tells Summer she needs to go save the world and trusts in their relationship to last through it. Julie decides to get her degree instead of depending on yet another marriage for support, with Bullit and Frank still cheering her on on graduation day. The family tree on The OC rivals the one from Once Upon a Time, but by the finale they have all formed this strange, beautiful, supportive blended family that all began because Sandy brought Ryan home. Plus, I never realized that Jeff from Chuck was the weird homeless guy Seth gives the Range Rover to. Josh Schwartz must just love that actor.
  3. I've been rewatching the whole series. I remember a lot of criticism over seasons two and three, but they've held up surprisingly well. I especially love the number of scenes of the four kids just hanging out in season three, and I think Ryan and Summer both go through some good character development in those seasons. That being said, seasons one and four are still my favorites.
  4. "Evil is charming and beautiful. It makes you doubt yourself. It asks you for one small compromise after another until it whittles you down, and it functions best when no one believes in it." - Lily "Guilt is the spiritual equivalent of physical pain. And like pain, things go horribly wrong when we ignore it." - Father Ken
  5. To quote Eric Taylor: Damn, Julie. Damn. She was always the character I thought so much more could have been done with. She'd have moments where she would really show potential - her relationship with Matt I thought brought out the best in her. They were just so cute together, and I love how she freaks out in "The Son" when Matt leaves with her "We can't just let him hurt like that." I'm glad they were together in the end.
  6. I just thought of a few more I really like: The scene where Landry tells Matt that Tyra was almost raped, and Matt tells him that he has to tell somebody. The way Matt goes from playful teasing to "what the hell is going on here?" to freaking out to being the voice of reason in about a minute flat is well played by Zach Gilford. The third season finale has a few gems: Matt and Grandma Saracen: "You're the only person who's never left me. I'm not gonna leave you." And the Tim and Billy scenes in the episode. Tim's absolute joy at Billy having "a little football coming our way," and later Billy insisting that Tim's gonna go to college, which I'm just going to quote in its entirety: Billy: Come here. You listen to me, you little idiot. You are not gonna wuss out on this. You're gonna go to college and you're gonna get a degree. And I don't care if it takes you 7 years, all right? And when you start thinking it's too hard or that you can't handle it, I want you to remember one thing. I want you to think about the kids that you don't have yet. And I want you to think about my kids. Me and Mindy's kids that we don't have yet. And you're gonna get the job done so that one of these days I can tell them that they don't have to settle for second best. That they can be whoever the hell they want to be because their uncle Timmy went to college. And God bless our mom and dad, wherever the hell they are. Tim: Yeah. Billy: But we gotta do better by our kids. Do you hear me? Tim!!? Tim: I thought... Billy: Do you hear me? Tim: Yeah. Billy: All right. As screwed up as the Riggins boys were, they always stood by each other. And last but not least, the scene in "The Son" where Landry, Tim and Billy accompany Matt to the funeral home to see his dad's body. The guys all try to speak for Matt to make it easier on him, but he won't let them, so they just linger behind and watch with concern as the funeral director shows Matt the body and he tears up.
  7. I really started watching in season 2, so that season gets more love from me than it probably does from others, so... Matt's "Everybody leaves me! What's wrong with me?" scene with Coach Taylor. Landry freaking out and trying to get someone to arrest him after his confession to the cops. Tim protecting Julie from the tornado. "Enjoy your depraved hedonism!" "I will."
  8. Hell yes! Forget Sterek, this is my OTP for the series. If they teamed up, they would be the best parenting team ever.
  9. She's become such a great character since she got involved in the supernatural side of things. I'm fairly certain the hospital would be nothing but charred rubble at this point if it weren't for her.
  10. ...but I don't know where the hell her brain is. I couldn't think of a more clever title, but I couldn't let the last Golden Girl left standing remain without a thread.
  11. Thank you for choosing my favorite Dorothy line of all time for the thread title!
  12. Well, apparently Isaac isn't returning, which just leaves him with Scott. I would love to see him and Chris working together. I think they could end up having a Damon and Alaric style bromance going. The actors have had great chemistry, and I've thought that setting Derek up for interactions with more of the adult characters would help give the character more purpose. My wish for season 4 is for Derek to get a job. I understand that he's rich based on what their house looked like before the fire and the number of life insurance policies he would have cashed out after, but the man needs something to do. All of the other adults have a job that are central to the plot lines of the show.
