  1. As they were winding down the all-Republican panel this morning, Rick Tyler absently said "Democrat Party" in one of his answers and Joy didn't let it go by. "We say 'Democratic Party' on this show, my friend." I heart her for that. I really do.
  2. Definitely entertained. Rooting for the AL West team, but I could root for LA since "Corey's Brother" Kyle is one of my favorite players. On this game, that's twice the home plate umpire has called strike 3 on a player prematurely headed towards first for his walk. It's like the ump is calling that strike after the player is apparently showing up the ump by thinking they know what the ump is gonna call. Or is it just me?
  3. Loved the song playing during the opening montage.
  4. She is, isn't she. I love how she's letting herself age naturally, yet she's still stunning. Can't agree about Robert not belonging in his job. Every office seems to have/need the self-identified asshole, and that's Robert to a tee. Maybe they're bouncing back and forth between Spain and Berlin, so next episode we get all Daniel out in the field?
  5. I hate Franco because his character and what TIIC did with it after he left the show ruined General Hospital for me. His character was a psychotic, homicidal "artist" who had a brain tumor removed so he's not accountable for his crimes. It's just all around gross.
  6. Amen to that. It needs to be on an airplane banner for the entire New York media universe to see. It's a real shame, though, that it's being a groper that got Halperin taken off of my TV screen and not him being a smug, Hillary-hating douche.
  7. Kenneth Branagh Gwyneth Paltrow James Franco Benedict Cumberbatch Anna Paquin Anthony Hopkins Nicolas Cage I will always love Kevin Costner running through the Pentagon in those Navy whites. And as far as Tom Cruise, I agree he was badly miscast as Jack Reacher, but I admire his work ethic and love the Mission Imposiible movies.
  8. Even the FS1 play-by-play/color combo are terrible. Judge makes that great over-the-wall catch, sure, but did they have to spend the entire rest of the inning fellating him for it? Blech.
  9. Both Joe and "Mike-a" let Cassidy get away with blatant what-about-ism, a technique patented by the Trumpeters, and they didn't call him on it. Mika did roll her eyes and then shoo him quickly off the show, but that's not enough.
  10. Wonder if Hal Holbrook has an opinion about this film...
  11. I've watched the first two eps, loved both of them, waiting impatiently for the next ones to drop.
  12. No daughter that I can recall, but then I wasn't expecting a Season 2, so I didn't commit much of Season 1 to memory. Pleasantly surprised, hope they learned from their Season 1 disasters.
  13. Ouch -- Christian Walker is going to have a shiner after being hit by Darvish.
  14. Trigger Happy Jack by Poe has been ear-worming me for the last three days. Playing it out loud seemed to make it leave my head.
  15. This, except I couldn't help but hear in my head the screaming wails of faux outrage from the denizens of the IRL "fake news" who see conspiracies around every corner and fervently believe that all of Hollywood is an elitist communist cabal who thinks only of ways to make their guy look bad.
  16. Chumbawumba had another song chart at #56 in 1993 in the UK, Enough is Enough, an anti-fascist protest song (with Credit to the Nation). One of my all-time-favorite songs is the one hit by The Knack, My Sharona.
  17. Also glad to know that there's a Season 2 coming out soon. ;)
  18. I'm Jarly and I think Carly perversely deserves the brain-damaged serial killer. It's hard for me to see how Carly could "wreck" Jason any more than he's been wrecked already by the TIIC of this fakakta show.
  19. I watched it years ago when it came out on VHS, but I was thrilled to finally came across a stream for Ray Muller's extensive, brilliant documentary "The Wonderful, Horrible Life of Leni Riefenstahl." She was such a polarizing figure. She was so talented and made what is still considered on of the best propaganda films ever made -- "Triumph of the Will" -- yet she maintained to her dying day she was not a Nazi. Totally worth the three hours.
  20. I have listened to Therion. Will have to check if Gothic Kabbala is one that I bought. Thanks for the tip. Kind of sad that the only gothic/symphonic band I ever hear on the radio is one song by Evanescence, not that Evanescence isn't a good band, but still, there's so much more out there.
  21. That's where I'm staying, too, before the band fired Tarja. Before popping in the Nightwish (where I can't seem to get past the hook in Bless the Child), I was listening to a gothic rock band called Closterkeller who is a lot less interested in hitting all the 32nd notes. The music seems to soar a little bit more. And before that was Dream Theater's exceptional Systematic Chaos, one of their last Portnoy discs.
  22. "Bless the Child" by Nightwish from their 2002 album "Century Child." I'm really happy I have bunch of symphonic/gothic/power metal to catch up on.
  23. I wondered who Rachel thought she was was talking to when she said something to the effect to Sen. Warner about him not doing very much television. I was like WTF? Seems to me like Warner is on some show or another nearly every goddamn day.
