  1. The closest we got was a promo on USA between seasons.
  2. I kind of saw it coming when I saw the man smile (like he'd found his nerve) and just casually dropped out.
  3. He did although he also had NY connections. He attended Julliard way back when and was probably doing stage work at the time of the attacks.
  4. Because a teenage boy getting busy with his teacher is considered heroic and cool while a girl is a victim of statutory rape and whose parents would have the scumbag arrested on said charges. My father used to to joke that when he was a boy, all of his teacher were "old biddies" and not the sexy young things that came along in the 70s and later. He used to say that HS would have been less of a drag if they had been! FTR- I think such teachers are predators and have no business having sexual encounters with underage students (or current students under their authority). Both male and female teachers should be sent off to jail in the name of equality under the law.
  5. Sorry. These actresses are looking too much alike for me to care.
  6. Yeah and Stella was the one who talks him out of his psychotic attitude by telling him how he's not the first one to lose a loved one! Yeesh! We didn't need that subplot at all! The only time it might have worked was if it were a stalker ex bf or husband.
  7. Meta employee. She's probably curled up in a ball right now. https://media.gab.com/system/media_attachments/files/119/840/011/playable/cbb5ccafd4d58207.mp4
  8. It also pissed me off when she returned as a ghost. When Ned asked how it was in the after life, she mentioned it was cold and lonely. I hated they did that to a loving a devout woman! Why couldn't it have been a better experience for her except to make a cheap joke at her expense?
  9. Sounds like Bitcheroo. The previous GM was always hanging around her like a dog who sensed a bitch in heat. Even other co-workers thought it was odd he was hanging around the newsroom as often as he was.
  10. As a former NY'er with friends and family that worked for and dealt with employees of the City of NY, trust me when I say these bureaucrats are the most petty people on the planet and would have no second thoughts in putting their grudges above their duty. I'm sick of seeing [writers] trying to pair partners together romantically when it's not always a good idea (for a host of reasons). I still hated that Eddie and Jaime got together when her character was all wrong for him. If anything, I thought that psychic that helped Danny solve a couple of cases would have been a good fit for him. I also liked the nurse who was a cop's widow (the inverse of Danny and Linda) who was being stalked by her ex bf. Then again, some guys feel like they wouldn't do well in a relationship again. Danny and Linda had a great relationship - they talked things out and Linda went onto the marriage knowing she was marrying a cop from a cop family. They always made it a point to say I love you ("I love you more!") before parting for the day. Not a lot of women would be willing to make compromises.
  11. There's understandable reason for that. First, Julia Child was not amused by Julie's use of profanity throughout her blog. Secondly, Julie claimed some recipes were hard to do. Julia responded by saying [to paraphrase] that she had worked every single recipe [in that book] at least 12 times in her own kitchen to make sure of consistency and that even the kitchen novice could make these sumptuous dishes. She was insulted to have someone claim it was hard. I'll always enjoy the film, Julie & Julia, but based on what I've read about the real Julie, I'm not impressed.
  12. My parents were children of the 50s so JLL was definitely a part of my listening experience as much as it was theirs! That man put a lot into those 87 years! All those controversies like marrying his cousin Myra, his son Steve Allen Lewis drowning, one of his other wives also drowning. I hope he can RIP now.
  13. Eh. Most of the upper echelon executives made millions if not tens of millions. I think they'll be fine. The little guys might not lose their jobs (I've heard burnout is a very real thing with them). Meanwhile, work today has been a load of last minute stuff! We're covering the funeral of a cop who was killed in the line of duty and his funeral is today. That means live coverage of the procession (including the Strip) and interviews with various participants who will be part of the funeral duty; many are from out of town. One guy we interviewed was from the Apache (reservation) PD in AZ. It's a very stressful time in many ways.
  14. Same! Every time I deal with idiots I can't help but think of that classic tune in my head.... We're just a couple of misfits....I'm not just a nitwit... Local radio DJs even used a clip from that song. Always made me smile!!
  15. The Walking Dead.
  16. Don't know if you've been watching the sequel series, Cobra Kai, but the actress who plays Ali's mom returned to reprise her role! Same house too! I'm not too harsh on her parents. Ali had big plans and her parents naturally wanted the best for her. They presumably adored Johnny Lawrence (her ex) and thought she had no legit reason to dump him. Naturally, they'd scoff at a boy they didn't even know.
  17. 50s Zorro (Guy Williams) would win the fight handily! He had everything from presence and charisma to a strong fighting style.
  18. Here's a look at the first episode. Show's on DVD from Shout! Factory. It was a very well regarded comedy in the day and it's quite jarring for us young ones to see "Herman Munster" and "Grandpa Munster" working on this show first. The show itself has a NY connection as it was shot at the old Biograph Studios in the Bronx. It has since burned down, but it was where many silent movies were made once upon a time.
  19. This! Even the writers should know that. I'm no handywoman, but even I know that!!
  20. Don't think so since one is already dead. However, maybe they have murder mystery weekends and escape rooms too. Sorry to hear of Masak's passing, as I remember him from so many projects over the years. RIP sir.
  21. Very obvious and very well known. We're the top local news news broadcaster in town and the logo itself was full sized on the front of the shirt.
  22. I was hoping for a bit of advice: There was a controversial event at a local library on Saturday and there was a counter protest outside. I let the news desk know about it as a potential story. It seems that local media chose not to report the event but while looking for footage of it and alternate news sites that might have covered it, I noticed a protestor who was wearing a station logo shirt while protesting. Worse still he picked a fight with a counter protestor (hitting him with an umbrella) and they wrestled on the ground for a while. Now station logo clothing is not like sports logo clothes - only employees and former employees would have them. I have a strong suspicion as to who this person is (he was wearing a mask and sunglasses to hide his identity ) but not absolute. As a matter of policy, we are entitled to our beliefs but we are not supposed to be wearing logo clothing when attending non sanctioned events like this. I don't know if management knows yet, I haven't said anything yet and am not sure if I should. If I do, I doubt the person would be fired or otherwise disciplined, perhaps at most an email will go out to remind people that they should not be attending protests wearing our logo. Anyone who saw this event could think our station sanctions it and of course, officially we don't. Should I bring it up to management or let it go?
  23. I remember seeing this when it first aired! Broke my heart that
  24. Brigit Hanley died last year.
  25. I grew up with that song! I got my love of folk music from my parents (Dad especially) because he loved the storytelling aspect of the genre (which separated it from many other forms of music). He had many albums from that era from PP&M, The Kingston Trio and The Chad Mitchell Trio among many others. I got to take him to see Peter Paul and Mary many years later and it was great to see them live- unchanged pretty much. I also grew up with the cartoon that was inspired by the song.
