S04.E01: After The Dust Settles
mamadrama replied to ciaoformeow's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After
I imported mine from England. Most of us have pretty normal, boring marriages. Where these dufuses went wrong was trying to marry what should've been a vacation fling at best. -
I wish this storyline could be explored more. Kat was straight when she was introduced to us, but now that's she had a relationship with Adena she's strictly a lesbian? I think sexual orientation is a lot more complex than that. I'd like to see Kat navigating the channels of "I was always attracted to men in the past but then I had a relationship with a woman I loved so what does that make me".

Patty did a great job with the role, but I don't think the role is Dee. Joey King is channeling Gypsy for sure, but there's something a little "off" with Dee's role. She's still fun to watch, though, and acting wise she's very good.

Juliette Lewis rocks my world. That is all.

Seeing that segment made me lol. I kind of dig Alejandro. However, I found it kind of unfair that they were so hard on Colby and Wade for forgetting lyrics when Alejandro barely even sung. I'm glad that he made it through, but I gave it the side eye. It makes me think that they already knew who they were putting through before the groups even went-or at least most of them. They were going to take some singers no matter how badly they screwed up, either because they genuinely liked them or because they had too good of a sob story to pass up.
-
I wish they'd aired this before the top 10 reveal. IMO they're waiting way too late into the game to "introduce" us to these folks.
-
Same for me. Actually, I'm starting to think I'm the only person who likes Wade and Laci, ha ha. His voice might be affected, but it doesn't bother me. I like those "crackly voices"as my 7-year-old says.

Especially when it comes to these young stars who hadn't really even gotten into their careers yet. The art that could've been made...

Yes! And I'm no great Carrie Underwood fan but "Alone" remains one of my favorite Idol moments. This kind of formatting does not encourage people to vote based on talent-they're voting for favorites. It was like that in other seasons, too, but at least there was also time in which we got to know the talent.

This is a place where snarking is acceptable. Of course I also think it's terrible that she was senselessly murdered. Naturally her family suffered the biggest loss, but when someone like this dies I also think that the viewing audience lost a talent, too.

I was shocked as hell not to hear "Let if Go."

There are some people who can sing any song you throw at them, but they lack passion and substance. I'd put someone like Riley in this category. There are others who don't have a ton of range, and may not be vocally exceptional, but you feel every word they sing. I think Alejandro is one of those singers who does really well with the songs he *feels* but he has trouble forcing it. That's probably why he does so well with the ones he's written.

I made a list of my dream Disney repertoire with these contestants. This was my list of ideas-some of my favorites, along with a few overly-done songs that I knew would be in there anyway... Alejandro: Not in Nottingham (Robin Hood) or Remember Me (Coco) Jeremiah: I'm Still Here (Treasure Planet) Evelyn: Sally's Song (Nightmare Before Christmas) Laci: Feed the Birds (Mary Poppins) Eddie:Why Should I Worry (Oliver & Co) Uche: The Gospel Truth (Hercules) Dimitrius: The Circle of Life (The Lion King) Riley: A Dream is a Wish (Cinderella) Wade: You've Got a Friend in Me (Toy Story) or The Bare Necessities (The Jungle Book) Laine: Kiss the Girl (Little Mermaid) Walker: Candle on the Water (Pete's Dragon) Madison: Colors of the Wind (Pocahontas) Alyssa: Something that I Want (Tangled) Ashley: Will the Sun Ever Shine Again (Home on the Range)
-
I kept thinking about how much better The Godfather 3 would've been with her instead of Sofia Coppola.
-
Me too, though I was hoping that someone would sing "Not in Nottingham" because I think that's one of the saddest scenes from any Disney movie. "Candle on the Water" is my favorite Disney song, just as the original Pete's Dragon is my favorite movie. My high school boyfriend disappeared and for 5 years we didn't know what had happened to him. I kind of lived in limbo and that song was my lifeline. After my son passed away, it started reminding me of him. So I have emotional ties to it. Personally, I love it when they sing those more obscure songs. There are some wonderful Disney tunes, but it feels like they always stick with the same 10. I really want to hear someone do "Feed the Birds" from MaryPoppins.
-
Okay, that's weird. On another forum I gave my Disney night dream list and I was right about many of the choices, including Jeremiah singing "Candle on the Water." That's kind of weird...

So I was a family therapist for a while and I have to admit that every one of my co-workers was at least as nutty,if not more so, than the clients we worked with. The same with social work. It's kind of fascinating. This woman and her Photoshopping...

I'm hoping for Johnna's future dudes that she never watches THE BERLIN SYNDROME.

I don't get the purpose of leaving out Gypsy's hot dad, either, unless they did it for legal purposes. I actually feel like them ignoring him is perpetuating the myth that he didn't care about his daughter. I can't believe how both sorry and repulsed I felt about Dee in this episode.
-
At least she can now return the #1 apple growing place in the world.

Walker: I ff through it. I've been tired of that song since 1987. I never cared for it within the context of the movie, either. I've always thought it was boring and had no desire to listen to it again. Evelyn: I've literally seen people do a better job on karaoke night. Jeremiah: He seems like a beautiful soul. Dimitrius: I wanted to like him. Parts of it were okay, and parts were cringy. Ashley: It's a pretty song and she has a pretty voice, but it wasn't anything new. Madison: Enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Riley: She's pretty and a cute singer, but I could go to Dollywood (and Opryland when it was still there) and find 20 more just like her. I don't mean that as an insult, because I was a Dollywood performer too, but IMO she has one of those voices that can technically sing any country song that's thrown at her, but every one of them sounds the same without any emotion. Alyssa: I'm not a fan but I liked it more than others. It made me want to listen to the original. Laine: I love Elvis. That was boring. Wade: It was so low and so quiet in spots that I couldn't hear some of it. Laci: I wasn't a fan of the song choice when I heard the title, but I enjoyed listening to her sing it. Eddie: He's really trying too hard at this point. I'm not amused. Uche: Unlike Eddie, Uche is naturally entertaining and I AM amused while watching him.

Social Media: What's Up With Her?

Thanks guys! Good to know you've got my back. -
He also had apparently been working down that "other hallway" in the school. The same one that swallowed up Minkus.

My mom was a cheerleader in the 60s and I was one from the late 80s to the mid 90s. The answer is "yes." My mom's squad definitely did the cooking and decorating for the boys' teams. And their cheers were basic and mostly used to get the crowd riled up. We did some of the decorating in the 80s and early 90s but by the time I left the squad, we'd almost stopped that altogether. We probably did one big thing a year for them, but it was also reciprocated. I noticed a definite switch in cheerleading sometime around 1994. It was then that cheerleading in our area went from basic tumbling to acrobatics worthy of ESPN. We basically went from a squad whose purpose was to support the boys to a sport's team who used the ballgames really just as something to practice on while we readiest ourselves for the competitions. In this realized I was struck for the first time at how much CB reminds me of Mr. Turner from BOY MEETS WORLD. With his slacks and curly hair, his tie and the way he tries to be "cool" with the kids... RIP Jonathan Turner. We never knew what happened to you.

The JTP and Murray's bromance are two of the things that keep me tuning in.
