  1. I am also a Nicksay person, but I remember when Ridgeway's Morgan was going out on a "date" with a boy and she was wearing a tankini before Alan told her to go change. She was sucking in her "gut" so visibly and I felt bad for her. Ridgeway's Morgan kind of got on my nerves, but I never out and out despised her; I just always wondered why Nicksay needed to be replaced.
  2. Juelia can go kick rocks. She admitted that she didn't have any romantic feelings for Jonathan or Mikey so really, what did she lose out on? She got played by gross Joe. Oh well. Tomorrow's another day and another dude will come in. I also don't understand why everyone was so invested in trying to get Joe to confess. Who gives a crap? Especially since these guys don't have the excuse of not being able to use their phone while filming. Go play Trivia Crack and call it a day.
  3. My favorite scene was that of Emma acting like she was going to feed Ben but then snatching it away, so the fact that there's a blooper of that? Made my hour.
  4. Angela: Why are you mad? We asked if you wanted to come. Topanga: Yes, and I believe your words were "Puh." Cory: Puh...sibly. I also still say, "Puh...sibly" to this day.
  5. I mean...I guess? All of these seasons (and storylines) run together for me, but how long has Ben actually been interested in Riley? A season. A season and a half? The rest of the time that Danny was in love with Riley and didn't act on it had nothing to do with Ben; it was his own cowardice. Which, no shade, I get it, but how was Ben supposed to know? We've all seen that Ben is clearly the kind of person that needs to have things definitively spelled out for him. I think I like Ben more than most, and I know he's a jerk, but I seriously doubt that he would have gone after Riley if he knew how Danny was completely into her from the start. I just don't think Ben should be made to feel guilty for something he had nothing to do with.
  6. That very well may have been what he was trying to do, but The Carlton is not an easy dance (no matter how goofy it looks) and he was working it.
  7. I definitely like Shawn better than Nick, but Nick came up a step in my book when he was masterfully doing The Carlton.
  8. Those babies playing Emma give me so much life! I watched the part where she acts like she's going to give Ben some cereal, then eats it herself and proceeds to crack up at least 10 times. I guess I'll be the lone voice to say that she loves Ben and wouldn't mind Ben and Riley to take a real stab at a real relationship.
  9. I loved Puffy being in on the joke that he really can't dance. Man, that Laurence Fishburne is an ac-TOR. Don't get me wrong, I certainly enjoy the entire cast (especially Tracee; I haven't liked her this much in anything else), but when they were playing their 20s counterparts it was "Anthony Anderson as Dre as Ass man" or "Tracee Ellis Ross as Bow as 20s dame." But Laurence Fishburne was just straight up another character.
  10. I'm trying to remember why Charlie started listing that long, long, long group of black men that married white women?
  11. Didn't watch last week's, but watched the reunion because I heard Chrisette was not picking up what Stacy was laying down. I loved Chante saying that in her 11 years of marriage to Kenny, she ain't heard nobody mention Stacy's name. And when she said that Stacy had never been to her house, I heard Mo say, "Nobody's been to your house." Yeah, y'all wouldn't be at my house, either. Not when the first season was full of drama and the second season was full of drama and I was going through a divorce and custody case during all of that? People don't come to my house now and I ain't got nothing going on except writing term papers.
  12. TVOne, what have you done? I have no interest in finishing the rest of this season. Caught the last episode on YouTube (thanks Watermelon) and I am good. I remember the first episode where the Divas did Kelly Price's showcase and everyone was hyped about everyone else's talent. That's what I really wanted to watch, but even so, I was okay with last season. This season? These harpies screeching about nothing and Stacy Francis's demon possessed soul telling Chante Moore that she's the greatest diva in the area? When no one even knows who she is? No songs to her name? With her voice sounding like the wails of all of the people Voldemort killed, escaping from his wand? No thank you. And I watched that monstrosity of a video that's linked in the article above. I can't. I cannot. I am unable.
  13. I switched cable companies today and, of course, got the package that doesn't carry TVOne. So...who knows if I'll ever find the desire to catch up on this show now.
  14. I think he's my height, which is 5'9"/5'10". However, I was wearing 4" heels that night, which is why I had to bend down a bit.
  15. Stacy looked like a wildebeest the whole episode. I hate talking about people's appearances. I think it's low hanging fruit, but every time I saw her, I recoiled. I only know about what Chante has said about Kenny from this show, so: I know that she felt controlled, I know that Kenny sued for full custody of their son, I know that Chante said it was to hurt her, I know that he didn't win and I know that she said that he's a good dad. None of that sounds disparaging to me. It sounds like adult business. It affects my perception of him slightly, but not enough to not be a fan, and not enough to think he's a bad person. They were just a bad fit. I'll still show everyone who wants to see it my picture with Kenny. So Stacy talking about how bad Chante hurt her friend is whatever to me because, IMO, if Chante really wanted to spill the tea, she would have said more than what she did. I'll just leave this here… http://flic.kr/p/rC3pCZ
  16. When Pete brought beer over to Rick's place, Michonne's katana was visible in the background.
  17. Brave emerges as this episode's MVP, though, really, all of them are heroes for blowing off Stacy's gig. Stacy pops off at someone every time she gets together with them, but she expects them to take time out of their schedule to see her terrible ass perform? Oh my gosh. They have yet to air a single performance of hers where I'm not scrunching up my face in terror. It looks like the producers have gotten in on the act because they keep zooming in on all manner of people's faces which are seizing involuntarily when they hear her. Michel'le had the right idea: get some free product and keep it moving. Back to Brave, I was super impressed by her, IMO, presence of mind to start praying when everyone needed to Summer, Donna. Her rapping was a surprise to me and seemed like she was legitimately gifted in it rather than Mo who I think is just fine. I don't lean in to Mo's verses like I feel I would with Brave. I love that Warryn Campbell was impressed enough to invite her back. Seriously, I was looking on iTunes for that song she played for him. She's better than me for letting Stacy run her mouth and think she was doing something because her rants were just aching for a well placed punch in the throat. So you mean to tell me that they would rather have a crappy verse in the song so they could hold Chante to their unbreakable vow to write their own verses than to have something meaningful in the song? Really? Or was the issue that they didn't want Chante to outshine them by singing something written by a legit songwriter? That had to be the case, because all of this preening about Chante's "shade" made no sense. They didn't consult with Warryn before agreeing that they would write their parts, but Chante's wrong because she went to a songwriter/his sister about her part? I also have no problem with Chante asking for 1% of the proceeds; even at 94% (...or...how many people are on this show now?) it would probably still be more than what other charity songs, percentage-wise, give to their cause. Now, once it's been asked and everyone responded, then that should have settled the issue. I feel like it was settled, but Mo decided to bring it up for whatever reason and Chante felt she had to defend herself. She should have just let that go; Mo was obviously trolling.
  18. I'm trying to figure out what story was sold. The fact that she got into a fight with Whitney Houston a few days before she died? That wasn't already out? I wouldn't know because, again, I'd never heard of Stacy before this show.
  19. So...just so I know how I'm supposed to react: should I be surprised every time Huck goes off script and murders someone? It happens every other episode -- sometimes twice in the same one.
  20. I think she's getting a raw deal because of exactly what you said. Whenever the show tries to deal with social issues, it never pans for whatever conduit they are using to send that message.HIV/AIDS - Tony - gone Homelessness - Dayzee - gone Working class people - Hector and his crew / Jane the Virgin / Stephanie's housekeeper's daughter - gone I know there are more, but those are the only ones that are coming to me now. And, oh, look at that -- they're all minorities. And none of those issues had a lasting impact on the show. I don't really take issue with KM being excited for the challenge (it's not where I wanted to see the character go, or any character that's been on the scene for 2 years where I have to pull out a MiB mind eraser to even have it make sense, but that's me), and I think she even thinks it will be told responsibly and she'll still have a job when it's all said and done, but history tells me otherwise. BTW, I know that there are a number of other characters that aren't on the show any longer; characters that just didn't work out for whatever reason. I'm not trying to say the only characters that are written off are minorities / one's that highlight social issues. I'm just saying that when I see them, I think, "Oh, boo. You're not long for Bell-A." ;-)
  21. That's why I said I don't feel sorry for her. I'm sure it will be an exciting acting challenge, but hers won't be the first trans character, clearly, because everyone on here is talking about Zarf and that was years ago on another soap. And I'd still never even heard of that until today. Yeah, I'm projecting, based on past behavior with this show. It's the best indicator of future behavior. I say they'll pull a Tony Dominguez (Oh my gosh, Tony has HIV!), have all of these storylines center around her for about a year and a half and then it'll be all, "Who?" You can have all the best intentions to have a powerful performance, but if the writing is crap… I mean, they can't even get an ALCHOLISM story right, and this is their 8th or 9th go-round at it.
  22. I feel sorry for KM, but not because of this. I don't see her character being viable once the shock and awe wears off, but thems the breaks. We all hitch our wagon to the wrong horse everyone once in a while; at least she got paid. The problem I see is how the writers set her up to receive all of this vitriol from the audience prior to the reveal. I don't see how they could tell an effective story in that environment. Plus, I can just see people using the fact that the character is transgendered to just lay into what they see as physical flaws, without taking into account that there is a non trans woman playing her. Like, how would you feel if people were mocking your appearance and then saying, "Of course she looks like that -- she's a man!"
  23. And it's this kind of attitude, along with pulling the fucking rug out from everyone who liked Rick/Maya 1.0, that gives me the hives about this. Artsda, no shade, you're certainly welcome to your excitement, but it really seems like these writers would go for the "Ha ha! She's a man, dummy! That's what you get for overreacting!" instead of any kind of character growth. Like Maya will be a punchline. Not here for it. Not one fucking bit.
  24. We met the father...I guess. We met Jesse, who Maya said was the father of her baby. And Jesse also said he was the father of her daughter. The way she talked about Jesse, he was a loser and there is no way that she'd need to fake a baby to keep up appearances. Like, Jesse was not in jail when the baby was born, so...how does that work out? Like I predicted, this absolutely does not make sense. This was already my last week for this show, but even if it wasn't, it would be after today.
