  1. On 'Yellowstone' this season, John Dutton was elected governor, and they held the inauguration and post-inauguration party outdoors, on a seemingly warm, sunny day. Not what I would have expected for Montana in January.

I'm a Mets fan, I know how you feel!

They got the current Cy Young winner on a two-year (option on year 3) deal, rather than a guy who hasn't pitched a full season in three years on a 5+ year deal. deGrom is going to be 35 next season, not really young for a power pitcher with a sketchy injury history. I hated seeing him leave, but I really didn't like the Mets giving him a long contract like he got from Texas.
  4. One scene - maybe when John and Beth were on the front porch - I saw an SUV with a light bar on the roof, which I assumed was the State Police escort his SUV has when traveling, so his entourage (as opposed to his posse) were likely at the ranch with him.
  5. The tweet says he 'never had to play a game in front of his accusers - until now.' Unless they are standing on the sideline with big posters, I don't know that he will even notice they are at the game. Not sure what this proves, other than to get some publicity for the attorney.
  6. That he's always been a bully and a thug and isn't afraid to use a little muscle to get what he wants. I think a number of staffers/security came to the ranch for the night since they were on a 'road show' to different cities around the state.
  7. I wouldn't be surprised if Sheridan already has that in the works...
  8. I love Mr. Baseball! It's one I usually watch every year before the start of the MLB season.
  9. That's pretty much how the mob works. "Nice shop you have here, would be a shame if anything happened to it...' We watched this last night after Yellowstone. It was OK, a little predictable, but it won't make me subscribe to Paramount+ to watch more episodes.
  10. I grew up on Long Island, and I've heard it said both ways, although 'foy-er' seemed more prevalent. I think some people may think 'foy-ay' sounds too pretentious, like you are trying to be all fancy.
  11. Yes, torn ACL, he's done for the season... Giants lose Wan'Dale Robinson for the rest of the season - Newsday
  12. I know they were looking at leaving sometime Saturday. On Sirius, they were asking if they could fly out Sunday morning and move the game to later in the day, right now it is a 1pm scheduled start time. That's the famed 'lake effect snow' coming off Lake Erie. It sucks a ton of moisture out of the lake and piles up quickly!
  13. Most likely they will stay in Michigan... I caught a little bit of Sirius NFL Radio earlier; they said the Bills will be going home after the game, then back to Detroit for Thursday's game, to try to make things as 'normal' as they can be. The Bills did opt to use the visiting locker room and side of the field, so it will be the same for both games.
  14. That gold number she wore for her wedding was probably in the shop, waiting on parts...
  15. Probably because they never went on a 'real date' in town and all, just fooled around on the ranch.
  16. No, I don't believe Rip knows, she has held the threat of telling him over Jamie's head a few times. I wish Jamie had left her at the train station with his father last season... Yes, Carter is played by the same actor, Finn Little. I wasn't sure myself when I first saw him. We loved John's reaction of 'stop grown up, it freaks me out...'
  17. Washington plays Monday night, Carolina and Atlanta play tonight.

Thrilled to see Joey win the championship again! We're big fans of his and all the Penske guys. Terrible news about Coy Gibbs, thoughts are with the Gibbs family. We've been watching the 'Race for the Championship', and really enjoy it. It's been well done, has some interesting insights into what they go through, both at the track and at home. And as Charlotte residents, it's fun to spot familiar sights. We've seen the first 7 episodes, just got through the Daytona playoff cut-off episode - if you remember Ryan Blaney dropping off his dogs at a boarding place before flying to the race, Jake, our Aussie, has stayed there too!

I heard that Trackhouse had Chastain's car on display for visitors to see, and since I live approximately 8 minutes from their shop, I took a ride over this afternoon. One of the shop guys was hanging out with us for a bit and said there is all sorts of bent and broken stuff in the right front suspension.
  20. @Lady Lucy, I've heard the same thing about your hidden comment.

That was a crazy move by Chastain, never seen anything like it actually work! We were sitting in Turn 1, and I was shooting Christopher Bell coming across to take the checkers, so I didn't see all of Chastain's wall slide, but I did catch him as he came down the front stretch, smoke and debris coming off the car to the line... His team owner Justin Marks tweeted this yesterday:

Given the last couple of seasons, we might only face him once or twice next year. I would hate to lose deGrom, especially to the Braves, but it wouldn't be the end of the world. He'll be 35 next season, an aging power pitcher who only made 26 total starts over the last two years, spending significant time on the injured list. Max Scherzer (who is already 38) is making $43M a year; you know Jacob is going to want more than that. Is he worth upwards of $50M a year, for the next three or four years? Yes, Uncle Steve seems to be playing with Monopoly money, but at what point does he say 'enough'? You also have to figure in the luxury tax hit that goes with these. If they bring deGrom back at that level, we'd be looking at almost $100M in salary tied up on two (aging) starting pitchers.
