  1. Speaking of props on Everybody Loves Raymond, I really did work for Newsday when the show was on - no, I wasn't a sports reporter, but I did know a few. A friend in the Marketing Department would periodically send them a stack of actual newspapers, plus other branded stuff, to be used on the show.
  2. We went to Disneyland when I was a kid - we flew from New York, Dad worked for TWA, so it didn't cost anything to fly - and 40 years ago I went to Disney World on my honeymoon, which tells you something about how things went from there... The past 4 or 5 years, GF and I have gone down to Disney World. We go to Sebring in March for the IMSA sports car races (after doing Daytona in January) then spend a couple of days with the Mouse. Since it's usually only two days at the parks, we stay at a Disney hotel, and do two parks. This year we did Epcot and Hollywood Studios (my first time there) but we've done Magic Kingdom a couple of times as well as Animal Kingdom. Last year we stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, it was really neat looking out the window of our room and seeing animals grazing. We don't usually do too many rides, but we'll pick a few we want to try, do some photography, find a good meal, and just relax.
  3. When I was looking for work (18 months ago) I had decent success using LinkedIn for finding appropriate listings. I would usually skip the Easy Apply thing, though, and go directly to the company's website and apply on their employment page. It probably cuts down on some of the noise.
  4. As an old Air Force pilot, I can tell you that you just described half the fighter pilot community... 😉
  5. No, it was going on for a while. Ownership was looking for a new stadium or renovations on Memorial Stadium for a number of years, but couldn't get government funding for either. They began exploring moves to other cities, and Maryland Senate passed legislation giving the city of Baltimore the right to seize ownership of the Colts by eminent domain. With that threat, Irsay moved the team before the Legislature passed the bill and sent it to the governor for final approval. The actual move that night was a surprise, but it had been known for a number of years that ownership was looking to make a change, whether in Baltimore or elsewhere.
  6. Almost sounds like you know a little bit about the cable business... 😉
  7. GF said the flags category should have had 'Sheldon Cooper' doing video clues from his 'Fun With Flags' show. As a native Long Islander, and Billy Joel fan since, well, forever, I would have been embarrassed if I missed FJ.

    Tell me about it… 😧
  9. Yes! I still eat plain Cheerios, although I do get the honey nut ones from time to time. But chocolate Cheerios? I hadn't heard of those, I just might have to try them! 😁
  10. I'm not sure I understand what this means. Not like Cheerios anymore? I've been eating Cheerios since I was just a little Moose. I had a bowl for breakfast the other day. We're out of milk and going away tomorrow or I probably would have had some today. Kids these days... 😉
  11. I'm not a fan of those assessment either, but when I was looking for a new position in 2021 (my contract role was ending) I would take some of them if they didn't seem too egregious. I had applied to one position, and almost dropped out when I got the email about taking an assessment, but I figured 'what the hell, I don't have anything better to do.' I've been with that company almost 18 months - I enjoy what I do, it's a good company, great people, decent comp, great benefits. You never know...
  12. That was 70 years ago, I think a few things have changed since then.

  14. Having owned an older house, 'character' usually means more repair expenses. 😉
  15. Josh Harris group nears deal to buy Commanders from Daniel Snyder Harris is the owner of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and the NHL’s New Jersey Devils, co-founder of Apollo Global Management and a general partner of the English Premier League’s Crystal Palace Football Club. Forbes estimates his net worth of $5.9 billion. He is also a limited partner in the Steelers and will have to sell that to buy the Commanders.

You know, if we get rid of this silly designated hitter rule, we'll see more guys get a clock violation for both batting and pitching... 😉
  18. I see them so often in parking lots that I've wondered if there is some 'other' use for them, like drug paraphernalia or such that I just don't understand.
  19. I saw a promo, somewhere online I think, months ago, and was horrified. I thought it was some spoof at first. This is wrong on so many levels.
  20. She was at the hospital later on, but I assumed when the news broke, she ran back to her desk to start notifying people and doing whatever else she would need to do in such an emergency.
