  1. The hat thing also hides thinning hair. I think Rinna really started relying on hats and wigs the past few years due to hair loss.
  2. Brings to mind "box office poison." Perhaps we'll see some real estate go on the market.
  3. Maybe the regulations require they get sleep after working a long shift? I recall similar schedules for long-distance bus and other drivers/pilots. It's very specific and there are severe penalties. I guess it's too expensive to have staff who work only night shifts and sleep during the day - plus where would you put them?
  4. CDAN says that "This quiet West Coast Housewife is hiding a boyfriend because of his views and doesn't want the rest of the cast piling on her more than they already do." Most guesses are that it's Sutton.
  5. Especially since Bethanny and Carole pulled this nonsense with Jules. They were relentless in trying to hound her to reveal it and discuss it. There was no pretense of concern - it was actually vicious competitiveness. Jules was "skinniest" so they had to take her down. I pretty much stopped watching RHoNY after that nastiness.
  6. This exact thing happened to millions of people not too long ago. Credit was cheap and easy to get (such as equity lines of credit) and people went crazy borrowing. Then the recession hit, people lost jobs, and many just walked away from their homes. As Lisa and Harry continue to age and work dries up, they may need to sell that home and downsize, as many retirees do. Only the two of them won't have any equity to fund their retirements.
  7. This is like "I did not have sex with that woman." I'm convinced they were each other's booty call and sleeping partners on the previous boat. Some people split hairs about that kind of thing.
  8. Having a huge loan explains a lot. I've speculated that the family is living beyond its means. They are desperate for money and their public behaviors show this. I don't know the LA real estate market, but with that huge back yard I would think the house's appraisal would be more than $4M. Perhaps a lot of deferred maintenance?
  9. Watched the finale wishing we could have more TV like this. Beautifully acted. I liked that they showed Gary's struggle with loving and pitying his brother while trying to comprehend what Larry had done. And being on the hook to keep tabs on Larry should he be paroled. That's a real struggle if you love someone. Did the solitary confinement really happen? Were there consequences for the officials who screwed that up?
  10. Like bad fish. (Apologies to Benjamin Franklin.) Absolutely. It's so banal, it's infuriating.
  11. I mean, the thought of Rinna as a doyenne of manners is stupifying.
  12. In the news business, that extra footage is used to cover jump cuts. Especially handy when editors use footage out of order, or use only portions of someone's sentences. For example, if they use the first and last sentence of a lengthy comment, the viewer can see the stop and start visually. There's a visual jump. That annoying jump is where the editors insert the shot of a drink or a waiter.
  13. I thought first-floor or basement family rooms were de rigeur in the family home market. This house screams Airbnb to me.
  14. Poor Whitney just slithers in and out of each scene with his mother. Bless his heart.
  15. Based on the article, we can add Armenian genocide victims to the Giradis' long list of the scammed. Interesting insight into the use of private judges, which generally strikes me as ripe for abuse and grift (the judges).
  16. I'm not a subscriber and am able to read both articles online.
  17. I watched it three times and laughed. Gary Farmer is having the time of his life. I kept peeking at the two young actors standing behind them, trying not to laugh. The scene with the kid eating catfish while receiving life wisdom was also great. The road trip is not quite doing it for me, although I loved seeing Megan Mullally (the lonely woman who gave the girls shelter).
  18. I hated everything about this episode. Mina kept trumpeting the "new zoning rules which allow more house on a small lot." The city profits with increased real estate taxes; the developer makes more money; and the neighborhood continues to lose its charm, green space and affordable housing. Did you see how jammed up the new red house is next to the house to its left? If I owned that house next door, I would be furious at the loss of privacy and light. Maybe Indy doesn't care about runoff. Here in the DC area, runoff caused by loss of green space is very detrimental to our precious Chesapeake Bay. I recently saw a heat zone map showing how my neighborhood's temperatures have climbed where huge healthy trees have been torn down. I don't mind open shelving in moderation, but those were horrible and weird looking. Just big ugly slabs of wood stacked on the walls. Makes the kitchen look smaller. I think the rug was a plant. I've noticed that Mina has started barking at people she disagrees with. She snapped at her partner/assistant, MJ and Cory in this episode. She's making mistakes and won't take responsibility. Not a good look. Karen with her yipping and hopping and exclamations acted like a loony. Very disappointed in the greed and selfishness.
  19. Many Native Americans have very dry senses of humor, and it's grounded in the harsh reality of their lives and their shared traumatic history.
  20. I agree, but I figured out that production is controlling the narrative and behaviors. For now, they want Sutton to be the target, with Garcelle occasionally lending support and occasionally stirring the pot.
  21. Is Erika living in the pool house? We saw her last season inside the main house, but now I'm wondering if she's been booted to the pool house.
  22. I think she's full of rage and it's spilling over. She was erratic and out of control on WWHL. They skewered her with mean questions and she had to take it, because Andy. Time is passing her by. She's aging in a brutal industry, she's lost work, her husband lives elsewhere (I think his behavior on camera subtly shows he doesn't like Rinna very much), her kids will never generate the kind of income she and Harry hoped they would, and she's being bested by Sutton and Garcelle. and losing her popularity. ETA: I wonder when Andy/Bravo will turn on Kyle, Rinna, Erika or Diana. It will happen if Bravo decides to dump them, or one of them really crosses a line behind the scenes. It's really why I watch. I can see it being Rinna or Erika. I think Diana will just leave on her own. I don't think any of the assholes in this group (not counting Garcelle and Sutton here) are true friends. I think they are a work confederacy, banded together to achieve a shared goal - keeping their Bravo paychecks. I also don't think Garcelle and Sutton are anything more than friendly work pals. And Erika is using the show to baldly advertise her services as a sex worker. I'm shocked that Bravo aired the comments about Crystal purging, unless they acquired her permission in advance. That is a really shitty thing to do. I wouldn't be surprised if Crystal leaves.
  23. Production ignited this fuze by making them share a cabin. They knew what would happen. I think they encouraged Natasha to do the mixed signals thing.
