  1. I hope this version of BD picks up more viewers in the repeat showing. Same here. Glad Jason made it home to his little girl. For many families, Zoom and FaceTime were family-savers.
  2. I like a lot of it (binged some of it last night) but it's very intense - perhaps not for late night viewing. I like seeing the reality of running a post-pandemic small family restaurant. I like the fleshed-out characters, although Richie is too over-the-top. All that screaming takes me out of the scenes. I love the sous chef's portrayal as a smart, ambitious, level-headed leader. I shall try to implement a french brigade system in my household. We'll be lucky if I can get someone to help chop the veggies.
  3. On the episode he stated that he and his restaurant partner have an investor and will be opening a restaurant.
  4. I'm pretty sure Erika was acting. No doubt she was drinking, but I didn't buy the drunk act. I assume she just fell asleep, although she had the presence of mind to put a pillow between her grossly-spread legs. In all of the episodes this season, she is extremely uncouth and awkward as she attempts to play a normal housewife instead of her EJ persona. Her attempts at conversation are bizarre - she just randomly blurts out stuff that supports whatever redemption theme she's chosen for the night. Good call, Sutton, on the tone-deaf dancing to "Expensive."
  5. The last I read online, her trial begins mid-July (after postponements).
  6. So, production set-up and completely fake "marriage"?
  7. Or money laundering. Erika bragged about her and Tom having many financial accounts, and she or someone else winked that tracing them would be difficult. Kinda like it's all a fun game to hide one's money and its source. I think this was stated when the scandal first broke and Erika was being defiant. Or trying to shift the blame to Tom. "I don't know nuthin' about all his shenanigans." Didn't she actually say "they will never find it"?
  8. Brandi Redmond is supposedly pregnant by someone other than her husband.
  9. I'll watch the next season with Glenn's dream team, as he called it - he, Daisy, Colin and Gary. If production would relieve Gary of the aging, messy-man-bunned horndog burden, it would be a huge improvement. He and Colin are very good at their jobs, and I'd like to see more of them working and teaching the younger staff. How funny that their bunk bed antics were more interesting than Gary trailing drunkenly after women. Gary made so many clumsy efforts at flirting that it was embarrassing (and clearly producer-driven). Gary: "I'm exhausted and want some sleep. Oh shit they're insisting I go find someone to kiss." Barnaby is a character with a sharp wit. Wasted opportunity not to feature him more.
  10. Unlike the other BD captains, Glenn doesn't have his own suite and must share a tiny space with idiots like Tom the Vomiter. How is it that Glenn manages to be the most agreeable of all the captains? His attitude is remarkable. How much do a real bosun and chief stew make in a year? They celebrate the big tips, but those tips alone aren't much money to fund a life. (Especially if they spend much of them on booze and meals and random shopping.) A friend was a chief purser on a massive cruise line, and now in his retirement he is struggling to make ends meet. He never received benefits such as health insurance. He thought that saving on housing and meals and such over the years would compensate, but nope.
  11. So Marcos says he has an investor and is opening a restaurant. This must solve the mystery of why he stated he would not return next season.
  12. Snorting at Rinna's quote in ZettaK's link "We usually run the liars/narcissists off..."
  13. I'm loving the fact that this series got made with a native production company and features native actors. Not too crazy about the special effects, which are so obvious. The actress who plays the witch woman is effectively creepy. I like the traditional touches - the cops standing in a Dine front yard and waiting to see if anyone acknowledges their presence, rather than barging up to the door and banging on it. The bringing smokes to visit an elder. I miss the Four Corners so much. It is extraordinarily beautiful. Was last there a few months before the pandemic, which hit the reservation very hard. In advance of watching this series, I reminisced about staying at the El Rancho Hotel with my colleagues in the 90s, and visiting a chapter house and trading post. And there they were in the first episode! When I first began working with Indians in NM, everyone said "read Hillerman." Then later the Indians said "nah, don't read Hillerman."
  14. Also? Crystal's husband has major Hollywood success and status. Denise also had this. The rest of these poseurs look around at their own D-list lives and hate them both for this reason. Not to mention, Crystal and Denise are naturally stunning. And younger. The 14-friends-rejection reminds me of a long ago time when my friend group pushed out a very difficult woman. On a girls trip to a cabin, she was relentlessly obnoxious. We put her on a bus ride home.
  15. Understood. What strikes me is that is a huge amount for one year, regardless of type of tax. It implies that she was the recipient of a very large volume of money. Surely if one government entity has this perspective, all of them will (e.g., income tax). Various people have posited since this mess started that it's the tax burden that will get her. A family friend was an IRS investigator for many years. At one time IRS agents abused their authority, and received significant media coverage over the years as a result, but now they are very scrupulous and careful as they build a case.
  16. So Erika owes taxes for 2019. She received Bravo income that year, yes? I wasn't watching at that time. It's especially stupid of her to fail to pay, because other housewives have very publicly gotten chastised (and fined) for not paying their income taxes (self-employed, 1099 income as independent contractors). I think the really stupid one on RHoP got caught twice. Erika's all "my business manager/accountant is looking this over." Honey, you're just stalling for time. https://dlisted.com/2022/06/17/erika-jayne-owes-california-2-2-million-in-taxes-but-intends-to-keep-her-glam-squad/#more-426211
  17. I heard it was Amanda Peet. 😝 Erika used to look like a Vegas cocktail waitress who had a good run at the tables. Now she looks like "a cocktail waitress in a Dolly Parton wig." (TM Confederate Railroad's "Trashy Women.") I mean, the financial come-down is obvious. ETA: no offense to hard-working waitresses everywhere, of which I once was.
  18. I think the last-minute schedule change was to introduce the low-tide scenario.
  19. RDJr is rumored to be one of the long-time sources for the Hollywood attorney who runs CDAN (blind gossip site).
  20. The latter. Mikey supposedly complained about not getting paid last year. Erika advertised for glam staff offering work credit, i.e., exposure. I suspect Mikey is a bit tarnished having worked for Erika.
  21. They whizzed right past Diana's infamous book. Cameras took unflattering stealth shots of various exposed body parts. They did the same thing in a previous season. Sounds like the 14 friends compared notes and staged a confratation with Crystal.
  22. I enjoyed this episode, with the exception of the ridiculous demands placed on the chef. Of course, he should have gotten sleep instead of partying until 4am the night before the wedding. Loved the bride's dress, their simple vows, and the wedding.
  23. I wonder if he's trying to force production to stop the stupid and stressful situations they put the chefs in. He is very popular with viewers and may feel he has some influence. Or he may have already decided not to continue with the stupid production machinations and move on.
