  1. This is one of my favorite television shows of all time. It still comes on Lifetime every morning. I realized a few months ago that I knew someone who was depicted on the show. I've always wanted to solve a mystery, or know someone on the show.
  2. Kevin Hart is a bit over the top. They have Boris playing a religious guru...the dropping Kevin out of the window....I know they're mocking the Real Housewives genre, but this is over the top. It's still funny, but it has leaped over the shark.
  3. DeShawn's pastor Eddie Long was accused of sleeping with underage boys. He also paid them off. I'm not sure what he's doing these days.
  4. I thought last week, and this week's episode were funny. I will forever love Wayne Brady for the Chappelle show skit. I also liked his remake of Every Little Step video.
  5. Spacey, that horse, and dog bit me 1st! I merely defended myself by biting back! I'll tell you this much, that was the one and only time I've ever been bitten by a horse! I still love horses! Dogs, not so much.
  6. I too was whipped as a child. I adopted my son when I was 21, and he was 11. I didn't take whippings off the table, but I mostly did the I'm disappointed in you type of punishment. I may have whipped him 1 time, and I didn't feel good about it. I used to wonder why my Mom said it was hurting her, just as much at it hurt me. It does hurt. It hurts very much. Not to justify my whippings, but I had/have a very sarcastic mouth. I staged my 1st ptotest in pre-school. I threw all her money out of the window, I bit the dog, and a horse. On top of the fact that I was very, very, intelligent, I was walking, talking, and potty trained before 1. What I'm saying is I was born 20 years old. I was a handful for a single 19 year old college student. About that protest, seriously, if I'm not sleepy, you can't make me take a nap. Those wimpy 3 year olds just caved in and fell asleep!
  7. I too enjoyed this episode. The nod is real! As a Black woman, I rarely do it. However, my husband does it. I speak to everyone, no matter what race. I do admit that Black folks tend to speak a bit more than any other folks to me. You can tell the non-southern Whites in my area by the way they look when you speak. They give you that "do I know you look?". I love this show. This episode was the best one so far.
  8. I suggest a read along for Pioneer Girl. It will be released next month. I will be nice to hear opinions about LIW's original manuscript.
  9. Before they showed the husband, the newscast was already playing. First they showed Wes' neighbor, and the football star watching it. Then it transitions into a shot of the reporter on the streets. Finally, they show the husband. The entire time they're playing a voice over that's detailing everything. It doesn't say she was in the water tank, but some how?
  10. I noticed upon rewatching that at the end, the news reporter never said that the missing student was found in a water tank. How did the husband know that?
  11. This is my first ABC program since The Glass House. My 1st drama since the first season of The Mentalist. I loved it. Viola Davis is fantastic!
  12. I found it very touching, and a bit sad when the husband and the wife went against each other. I could see the hurt in his face when he won the challenge. They're ny favorite team by far. I, as a straight woman, found it offensive for the Twinnie to refer to ??? Don't know his name yet, as a woman.
  13. Poor lazy lousy Eliza Jane. I really admire the independent nature of Eliza Jane. She really was a woman before her time.
  14. I love the seat rocking passage. That was something I would totally do. I also wonder how Eliza Jane felt about Laura's depiction of her. I also wonder if there are any living Wilder relatives.
  15. I wonder why LIW didn't include Manly's sister Laura in Farmer Boy? Is it because she was older, and maybe married while Manly was a child? I can't wait for Pioneer Girl.
  16. I love this thread! I need to reread the books, because I never noticed that Pa was such a loser. I couldn't stand Ma, or Mary. I was most definitely Laura. Our birthday's are even a day apart. Give or take 110 years. The fact that the whole family, other than 3rd or 4th cousins are gone. I wonder if there are Wilders still around? I know Eliza Jane had a few kids.
  17. I loved Gone Girl! Can't wait to see the movie. I agree with everyone about 50 Shades. It bored me to tears. After the 5th inner goddess dialogue, I had to close the book. Never to be opened again. Love Huckleberry Finn...loved! I love Twain! No to Harry Potter, and all of the rest of the YA lit. I love Cynthia Voight. Homecoming was such a great book. I'm going to purchase the rest of the series for my Kindle. I also wasn't very fond of The Goldenfinch. It seemed to go on, and on. My unpopular opinion? I'm a 39 year old Black woman who loves all things Laura Ingalls. I am way too excited for Pioneer Girl.
  18. I thought it was Almazon that owned the seed wheat? I love this topic!
  19. I still miss Any Day Now. I can't wait to see more of her, I'm only on episode 4.
  20. Lorraine Toussaint is amazing! I can't wait to watch the 3rd episode to see more of her.
