  1. I like Sophie and Jesse together, so of course they won't be endgame. Or should I say, he won't be the father, since on HIMYM the mother and the endgame were two different people.
  2. Chelsea Handler is too young to portray Samantha and Kim Basinger is too old. I think this is concocted BS. It would certainly be yet another in the long list of reasons why there shouldn't be a Season 2.
  3. Not canceled...yet! I'm enjoying the show. I hope it gets more attention on Hulu.
  4. I didn't watch Veronica Mars. The first thing I saw him in was Private Practice.
  5. I don't know that Ryan Guzman fits this description, though. He really upset some castmates not that long ago and he's kinda lucky to still have a job.
  6. Well, I came across some SATC eps on E! yesterday morning, so I decided to take CN's advice and try "watching reruns." Some of the scenes I saw were: Carrie and Miranda coming across Steve and Aidan and their new girlfriends sitting out on the sidewalk...Miranda subsequently running into Steve at the Chinese restaurant after going there to confront the poor woman on the phone for laughing...Carrie ruining Natasha's lunch...Carrie and Big falling into the water when meeting for lunch and him rescuing her purse... I tried blocking out AJLT while watching and it was pretty damn near impossible. Maybe after more time has passed. But as far as I'm concerned, they've ruined the legacy of SATC and these characters. And P.S. (as Carrie used to say), Miranda was much more mature and together then than in AJLT.
  7. Thanks for sharing this, it was an interesting read. She seems pretty arrogant. I once tried to read Sex and the City, but didn't get very far. I loved that she said Carrie sleeping with Big when he was married was the turning point where she no longer recognized herself. Interesting that she wrote a pilot based on Is There Still Sex and the City? Too bad it didn't move forward.
  8. Grace basically getting Rick-rolled when she called the credit card company was the best part of this episode.
  9. Is there any way Awkwafina would have done it, though? She seems to be having success in films, so a mediocre Hulu show would seem like a few steps down the career ladder. Agreed. I can't recall what I've seen him in before, but he's so derpy. Something about the way he talks bugs me.
  10. That's too bad. But they really didn't market this show well. I snagged the $0.99/month Hulu promo at Xmas time, so I'm glad I can finish the season.
  11. Ugh, I read this article yesterday and I was like, we're doomed. I had hoped that HBO was on the fence. Of course MPK and SJP will want to do another season. MPK for the ego boost and SJP for the payday. Although I do have to hope that behind the scenes they are disappointed in the fan reception/backlash. CN really needs to STFU if they don't want what's left of the fan base to be alienated. Bushnell is probably so disappointed. I will not watch any subsequent seasons.
  12. Wow, CN just sounds like a huge asshole in that article. Telling us to go watch reruns (well, those are ruined for life) because we expected some basic consistency of character? No one expected them to be frozen in time, we just didn't expect them to be entirely different people. When I read that line about those who expected SATC should go watch reruns, I thought, "no, those who want to tell their own stories should start a new series (or show, or podcast), not fuck up one that meant so much to so many."
  13. For those who are keeping score, Kim's show just got renewed for a second season.
  14. Me neither, but it had far more amusing moments than AJLT.
  15. I'd like a show of hands as to who thinks AJLT is a comedy? Bueller? Bueller?
  16. Thanks for sharing that. It's interesting that Blair said he was offered the part of Chivon (at least I'm assuming that's the part he's referring to). He says he turned it down because Samantha dated Chivon because she was "curious" about dating a black man and he wasn't interested in being "a curiosity." That's not at all how that storyline came across. Although that storyline ultimately became about race, Sam dated him because she was attracted to him, not because she was curious about dating a black guy. No doubt she'd been with a few men of color already.
  17. I like Rob Lowe, but Owen is looking more and more ridiculous with his Dylan McKay 'do and open shirt revealing a medallion. I kinda liked the West Wing callback. It was pretty clear that chick would want to go out with him after he hijacked her car to save the kid. And of course Owen saved the day once again. I actually thought Grace's anger toward Billy when he came to her house/she was in labor was also out of character -- I mean, of course I get why she was pissed, but she was really hateful toward him and that didn't seem like her. So this week's anger tracked for me. At least they're making her more human.
  18. This was especially obvious for Kyle and Ellie. I had re-watched the S1 finale before starting S2 and they both had such baby faces in S1. Speaking of ages, the actor who plays Ty is 24.
  19. Well, back in the SATC heyday there were plenty of pieces written about how Holly Golightly inspired Carrie Bradshaw...
  20. Always good to see Paget Brewster. The British dude (whose name I can never remember) continues to be cartoon-ish. I would enjoy the show more if his character were eliminated. Ellen really doesn't seem to be gelling with the group either. Wandering across the hall to steal tomatoes from a funeral reception was not at all funny.
  21. I'm watching and enjoying it, but it's not well-marketed and it seems like it would have been better as a fall premiere. I do have trouble following all the "kids" and their various issues. Young Margaret's wig is so distracting.
  22. If I were Rock's mom (or anyone's mom) I wouldn't let Che get within 100 yards of my kid.
  23. You're right, because Bill told Maddie he hooked up with Peggy "before you and I were serious." (Which, I'm not sure what that means -- at age 16, I doubt most people are playing the field). Wow. IMO none of the magnolias or the men they went to high school can pass for late 30s, except JGS and maybe the guy who plays Ryan (he and Helen look about 10 years apart). Speaking of which, like SonofaBiscuit, I don't get Maddie's angry outburst at Bill when he revealed he's Isaac's father. It seemed totally unwarranted. Some of the writing this season left me scratching my head. There seemed to be a lot of DRAMA just for the sake of drama. I guess that's TV, but we probably aren't supposed to notice when there is so much DRAMA over very little.
  24. Helen is my favorite character but Ryan seems duller than dirt. Maybe he's miscast, because I don't see the spark or love between them. #TeamErik! Helen would be the best choice for mayor. I'm not sure how old the magnolias are supposed to be...Heather H and Brooke E are around 47 and so I was surprised Helen's age wasn't mentioned in the discussions with her doctor. Joanna GS is 42 or so. Maybe they are all supposed to be early 40s. Dana Sue is always so freaking angry. I wish Brooke E would play her a bit more vulnerable. I'm glad she's a tough broad, but I want to root for her and she makes it hard. Don't care about the kids. I don't care much about Maddie and Cal either. Maddie is a bit boring and I sort of wish someone else were playing her.
  25. This is excellent, Thanks for sharing. It sums it up so well to say this show makes being in ones 50s look so depressing. I think Miranda's sexuality arc might have been somewhat more believable if she had gotten married in her early twenties before having more experiences. By our late 30s, I think most of us who were single at that age knew who we were. Miranda had plenty of sexual experience and a couple of serious relationships before she got married. According to Wikipedia, CN had been with Danny Mozes since she was 22 or 23. Her subsequent relationship with a woman beginning in her late 30s makes more sense to me than Miranda's being into men until age 55 and then falling in lust (I don't think she's in love) with someone non-binary.
