  1. Yesterday I was channel surfing while folding laundry and I caught the end of the finale on E! The "That is love. You love." scene between Magda and Miranda was the first thing I saw and it was just sad having had it ruined by AJLT. Then the first movie came on and I had it on the the background while doing my hair and makeup. Hearing Miranda shout "You broke us!" at Steve and telling Samantha that "it's the violation of the trust" that she couldn't get past was pretty annoying given the inexplicable Miranda storyline in AJLT. Legacy ruined.
  2. I'm afraid that ship has sailed, and the entire cast and crew of AJLT are on it.
  3. Airdate: 03/28/2022 Who the heck is Gillian? Nancy should have been disciplined and Tommy went too easy on her. I immediately thought of Ryan carrying Marissa away from the car crash, which actually was an iconic scene from The OC.
  4. I remember Jack encouraging her to pursue her music. Wasn't she making a tape to submit to a music school around the time he died?
  5. I'm pretty sure Randall said it was a state Senate seat, not a U.S. Senate seat. He'd be repping the district he lives in at the Pennsylvania State Senate.
  6. I think I read that one of his sons gives him shit on IG all the time (playfully) but I haven't confirmed.
  7. I'm pretty sure one of Rob Lowe's sons is a writer on the show.
  8. Yes, they would have had to skip the flash-forward to Kate's wedding that we saw last season. Which they could have done, or just not showed her. I've seen all sorts of speculation on the internet that we will see a noticeably slimmed-down Kate at Rebecca's deathbed, and that's why she hasn't been shown yet. Further, that CM has lost 100 lbs and is now being padded and shot at angles to disguise her substantial weight loss. I find this all to be extremely unlikely. I'm still going with "Kate's dead." Although that doesn't explain why Toby doesn't have the kids. But, I digress.
  9. I have a tough time liking Kate because she seems so unhappy and negative at least 90% of the time. She seems to have a sense of entitlement and takes little responsibility for her own self-worth and happiness. We haven't seen her working a full-time job since the show started, and she could have gotten one at any time. I really think she is the least evolved of the Big Three. The others have at least worked on their issues, though I find Randall often to be insufferable or at least annoying AF. He is trying. Perhaps now that the show is ending, Kate is going to take charge of her own happiness? I wish they had done it earlier. It's a little too late for many of us viewers who lost patience with her seasons ago. Weight notwithstanding. Though I do wonder, if she does become more self-actualized starting now, why she hasn't lost any weight by the time she marries PMJ in a few years.
  10. A few years ago I'd never have thought I'd say this, but...#TeamToby. I knew they were doomed when the lock had KATBOY (I'm pretty sure) written on it instead of KATOBY.
  11. I think you mean Ellen. I would be fine with both Ellen and Charlie being written out of future seasons.
  12. I hated her by the end. And this did nothing to redeem her in my eyes. I still maintain that there is no way that someone with Robin's lackadaisical approach to her career well into her 30s would have ended up as a successful and famous news personality. It takes infinite hard work and ambition to find that kind of career success, and she had neither. I was more excited to see Carl (Karl?) than Robin.
  13. I didn't even recognize Leighton M until her second episode. She's in a new Netflix movie "The Weekend Away."
  14. I liked Ted too, initially. But he became sort of an insufferable pompous douchebag, at least part of the time. And he got in his own way so much of the time that it was easy to be annoyed by him. I was single when HIMYM started and wanted a guy like Ted. By the time it came to its miserable conclusion I was in a relationship with my now-husband who isn't anything like Ted. Heh.
  15. It's interesting that neither Miguel nor Kate have been present thus far in the flash-forward. We don't know whether either is still alive. I think the anvil of Miguel being gone is pretty clear, though. And Philip Mean Jerk. Surely if the ex-husband is invited, the new/most recent/current one is, too.
  16. She was shooting an event when she met the photographer who's going to show her photo. But I'm not sure how often she does that. I loved that FutureSophie had that photo framed and hung in a prominent location in her home. Either that photo launched her career, or Jesse still means a lot to her in some capacity.
  17. I got Dateline fatigue a couple of years ago and haven't seen the episode (to my recollection) and didn't listen to the podcast, either. So I'm coming into this without knowing all the details. Now i just have to refrain from Googling so I can enjoy the show more. I thought the little "I'm a good person" number at the beginning was odd. I hope we don't see any more of that type of thing. Stick to the dramatization. I'm in the small minority that doesn't enjoy Keith Morrison's narration on Dateline, I merely tolerate it.
  18. This was my assumption as well.
  19. Based on the interview I posted upthread, it sounds as though Paul's arc is going to explore his gender identity as he works through the health issue and recovery.
  20. Generally, one's boss needs to know when one will be missing work, though.
  21. For that matter, why was Marjan the only one from the 126 who seemed to be aware of Paul's hospitalization? Didn't anyone think to give Owen a call? Both he and his wife seemed to think it was a great idea to be video chatting while she drove with her baby in the back seat, so they would have made good Darwin Award winners.
  22. The bird storyline made no sense to me, and it was obvious when Owen and his gf came in with all the stuff that the bird would be dead. My question is what happened to the dog that Owen took in? I'm thinking the dog may have had something to say about having that bird in the house. Owen's tale of never having the chance to apologize to Gwyn made no sense, considering they spent lockdown together. I was wondering if the showrunners have forgotten that Paul is trans, but apparently not. It did seem as though Paul touched on it indirectly. I knew he and Marjan were friends but didn't realize they are ride-or-dies (according to her). I was very surprised to see him get a defibrillator without consent, but I know nothing about this stuff. Paul has been my favorite character on this show and is woefully underutilized (what with each episode needing to be 80% Owen and 15% TK) so it's nice to see him get a storyline, even if I don't like it.
  23. I didn't have access to the episode until today. Funny to see the Captain and Boats, Boats, Boats! I never thought Kyle MacLachlan was attractive but he's turned into quite a silver fox. Can't imagine what that has to do with the new gang. Charlie and Ellen are still such clunkers. The show would work much better without them. The actors aren't good enough to sell the weak material. The whole "what do you know?" bit was straight out of Friends when Rachel finds out about Monica and Chandler and has the same conversation with Joey. This episode was the best one yet. Without the soccer and interview outfit storylines, it would have been solid.
  24. Did I see FutureSophie aka Kim Cattrall wearing a wedding ring in this week's episode? She hasn't in past episodes, has she?
