  1. Nope, you're not the only one. It's the same actress.

Thanks for the clarification. I knew she had been around but I didn't recall she was living with them (and apparently on call 24/7 for child care).
  3. We've seen a flash-forward to Kate in her 60s, and she looked the same but with graying hair. Do you have a link to the interview where she claims to be wearing prosthetics?

Right, I don't need to see them, I just wonder who's caring for them on all these spontaneous nights out that Hen and Karen are enjoying.

Based on the discussion forums I've read, JLH is an extremely polarizing figure for some reason. I didn't think that they had dropped Hen's med school until now. I just don't see how she could still be in med school, and it hasn't been mentioned in quite some time. Where the heck are their kid(s)?
  6. I, too, loved this episode. Kevin is my favorite of the Big Three and he's the one who has done the most growing IMO. He deserves a happy ending. I like present-day (well, 2027) Kevin and Sophie together. And I now realize that the Kate-Philip wedding was simply a plot device to bring Kevin and Sophie back together, which makes it slightly more palatable. SKB's delivery of "Manny say whaaaa?" was so perfect! I busted out laughing and woke up my dog. I immediately rewound to watch it again.
  7. Wow! I was planning an event there for a client in 2020 but it was canceled due to Covid. I was REALLY hoping to go (pre-Covid) and still hope to someday. Pretty amazing they got a TIU shoot there. I just don't understand WHY the wedding would be held even in Santa Ynez (I didn't recall her saying that, so thanks for the clarification).
  8. I don't think Kevin winds up with the wedding singer. We already have one of the Big Three end up in a marriage the viewers have no investment in after 6 seasons. I don't think they'll do this twice.
  9. Not only that, but Madison took pictures of the notes AND the bra!
  10. Randall was extra-Randall-y this episode. The nosiness. The comments to Miguel. THAT SPEECH. Ugh. I, too, had a good chuckle at Kate's "infectious smile." Show, don't tell...and you haven't. This is someone who we have rarely seen smile in her teen and adult years. I'd go so far as to say she has a perma-scowl. Although I think Randall may have said something about Phillip bringing the smile back. Kate's weird hairstyle made me cringe. It could not have been more unflattering on her. Why would anyone have met the wedding singer the day before the wedding? Where is this wedding supposed to be? Central coast? Napa/Sonoma area? And more importantly...WHY? A destination wedding makes no sense for a number of reasons, not the least of which is Rebecca's illness. They had to arrange an unusual schedule for her, so why also have it take place in unfamiliar surroundings? Miguel definitely did not look over 80.
  11. For that matter, do people really use nameplates anymore? It's a school for blind kids, so only the sighted faculty/staff would even know it was there, and presumably they know her name and don't call her "Mrs." This should probably go in the unpopular opinions thread: I've been wondering whether a different actress might have managed to make Kate more likeable. Sometimes even a fairly unsympathetic character can become somewhat sympathetic with the right actor who is capable of infusing some vulnerability. This is not a knock on Chrissy, and I know she needs to work with the lines she's given. But she made choices, too -- for example, adult Kate rarely smiled. (Or if she did, it was so long ago that I don't remember.) Chrissy said she wished she had gotten to give the Kate monologue that was written for this episode, which would have made her come off as even more loathsome than she already did. I just really wonder about the choices she made for Kate's portrayal. I also happen to think that it would have made more sense to cast someone who was ~50 lbs overweight for this role, given the direction that the character took.
  12. I'm going with KaPhillip since we already had KaToby.
  13. These are all valid reasons for him to move back to LA and go through 16 months of useless therapy, but I'm not buying him making a last-minute dramatic plea to Kate to stay together, moments before signing their divorce papers. This to me was a cheap ploy to elevate Kate in the plot. Grand gesture Toby went the way of his extra pounds and that little patch of hair on his head. Present-day Toby knew he would be better off moving on.
  14. I don't care who Kevin winds up with as long as he's happy, and as long as it's not Cassidy.
  15. For all of you fretting about the lack of story around Rebecca and Miguel's relationship, I read last week in an interview with the showrunners that this will be covered in a future episode -- I want to say episode 15.
  16. I've seen "2030" referred to before on these forums. What was the source for that info? It really appeared to me as though Rebecca's deathbed scene is more than 8 years in the future. Randall and Beth (if not Kevin) certainly looked older than 49-50.
  17. The show would have us believe that (1) Toby would beg Kate to stay married after years of misery, and (2) Kate is the only woman to make Philip happy. Sorry, I'm not buying it. This was a bridge too far.
  18. I stopped watching Idol because I disliked the judges panel (not them personally, but their so-called "judging" style) and the way voting has been handled in recent seasons. Then the hair salon I go to started posting about Kenedi on their social media, as she is also their client. I sought out her performances online but haven't watched any full episodes. My next appointment isn't for another three weeks, and maybe all will be revealed by then, but if not, I'll see if I can find out any scoop! I've seen some harsh things written about Kenedi in various places online, and we have to remember that she and many of the contestants are still VERY young. Their choice to participate in the show shouldn't open them up to so much criticism or ridicule.
  19. I think having Kate die before Rebecca would be very realistic. I haven't ruled it out, myself, although I don't think the show will go there.
  20. The flashback wrapped with the Big Three united in their naughtiness, which Rebecca was cooing over because they bonded together. This was juxtaposed with present day Big Three united in the yard against Toby -- Kate with her two white knights coming to her defense against the big bad husband.
  21. Totally agree. From interviews I've read, I think the showrunners feel this is a couple that many are rooting for. I guess they feel they have to show us the minutiae of the breakup. I'm good never seeing another minute of it. Nor am I thrilled that next week's episode, "Katoby," is about the evolution of their relationship. We've already been through it as it unfolded throughout the course of the show. It's not like they got together before the pilot episode. He's been shown to be somewhat of an asshole, but we call him Philip Mean Jerk because that's how Kate has him saved in her phone.
  22. Dating myself, but I remember Celia Weston from Alice! And I loved her in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. She also had a VERY funny guest turn on an episode of Frasier.
  23. I assume it's in Rob Lowe's contract that he gets a certain percentage of screen time. It certainly weakens the show.
