  1. Well, pretty much everything I came here to say has already been said, but I'll add my 2 cents anyway. The "judges" are not actually judging. I have heard very little constructive or helpful feedback. They are doing the contestants a disservice by not critiquing their vocals. Really, the "judges" are little more than set decoration. Katy and Luke sound stupid every time they open their mouths. "I Can't Make You Love Me" is one of my all-time favorite songs, and Michelle's rendition was utterly disconnected and without emotion. The ending made me cringe. She did not deserve to be put through. Catie - what is there to say that hasn't already been said? She is obviously a producer pick, but why? She gives our FF button a workout. Dennis and Gabby were the standouts. Dominique absolutely deserved a spot in the top 14 and was robbed. I personally find Train to be an absolutely terrible band, so we FF through most of the Pat M duets.
  2. Funny, I had completely forgotten about Caleb when I said I don't think a rocker can win AI.
  3. We don't watch The Voice for the same reason.
  4. I was underwhelmed by all of the performances last night. I am a big fan of rock. I think Cade is good, but he doesn't blow me away like he does apparently everyone else posting here. I don't think a "rocker" can win AI. That Bobby Bones -- whoever he is -- did not seem to have any credibility as a "mentor" and mostly seemed to offer a free therapy session to each contestant. Thank goodness we watch on a delay and fast forward through all the fluff and crap (and some of the performances). The judges really bug me. I find them sitting in lounge chairs rather than at a table -- singing, dancing, standing, clapping -- to be very un-judgey of them. I get that this is no longer American Idol as we once knew it, but it's disappointing to have fanbois and fangirls instead of actual judges. Katy acts ridiculous and Luke just doesn't make sense. Lionel seems very kind, but not especially helpful. I hope this season picks up or I won't bother to keep watching.
  5. I don't know, I thought Jack's new guy had a point. Grace did kind of look like a man in drag.
  6. This is the part that really bugs me. These things prevent us from seeing what the bakers can really do. And I am not a fan of two of the judges.
  7. I just can't with her. We will be FF whenever she is on our screen, which it would seem will be often.
  8. I agree. Frankly, I thought he should have been eliminated after his ill-conceived rendition of "Piece by Piece."
  9. In general, I never thought Grace's clothes were as bad as Karen claimed they were in the original series. Now she is dressed so unfortunately in each episode. The clothes are both ugly and unflattering.
  10. I have thought wardrobe (and hair + makeup) hated her since the very first episode. She can look good, she just...doesn't. Grace's clothes are downright fugly week in and week out.
  11. I've seen a few people mentioning that Roseanne is an Uber driver. I'm pretty sure that was a joke.
  12. I liked that Roseanne pulled out the "book" she had been writing in the finale, and Dad said it would have been better If she hadn't killed off the best character. So basically they were saying that the very end of the original series finale -- Dan's death, the David-Mark partner switch, Jackie being gay -- was part of Roseanne's fictional writing. That was an interesting way to handle the obvious problem of retconning the finale. But it does sort of ruin all future viewings of the finale. I'm surprised Roseanne and Dan seem to be retired or semi-retired. I wouldn't have thought they could afford it.
  13. The motorcycle storyline bugged me. I didn't think Mid-life Crisis Guy seemed like someone who would have a motorcycle license. I didn't think a pretty young woman would wave at him, especially since he was decked out in head-to-toe vinyl (or pleather) and looked completely ridiculous. My husband and I rewound and re-watched the accident scene 3 times, and we still couldn't tell exactly what caused the accident or exactly what happened. I didn't know that Connie B may not return (I don't blame her) but Abby going off to Ireland for an indefinite period of time seemed unlikely. I do understand her desire to travel, but unless she had previously been to Ireland, I'm not sure how she knew she would want to stay there for months.
  14. Hi everyone! This is my first post in the Roseanne forum. I'm looking forward to the reboot -- however -- the finale of the original series was such an emotional gut punch...anytime I come across a rerun of it, I have to sit and watch. While I can't imagine a reboot without Dan, I don't like the idea of retconning his death and thereby negating the original series finale. I'm less concerned about wiping out all the "truths" of the other characters we learned at the end of the finale. I feel the same way about the Will & Grace reboot, although I always thought the original finale with W&G having been estranged for so long, was not very believable. Anyway, looking forward to watching and discussing!
  15. If they did, I missed it.
  16. It seemed as though when it dawned on Xo that she should be discussing her health with her husband (!) she appeared at his door and he answered it. Doesn't she live there?
  17. Or...the one who stuck with the business she was supposed to be helping. Clearly Megan just went on the show for exposure, but my God, what a train wreck.
  18. Exactly! That's why I said it was like it never happened. What the...?
  19. Wow. Megan's website is badly in need of an editor...or, at least, a proofreader.
  20. Again with the ridiculous "twist!" This keeps me from enjoying the show as much as I could. Let them focus on the challenge, which is already challenging enough given the crazy time limits. They made their glazes.
  21. I am watching it because the good shows are wrapping up for the season. I still want Megan to take Kyle down or it's not worth it. I have no idea what was up with that scene with Lisbeth (?). That was freaky and then it was as though it never happened.
  22. One of the takeaways for me from the flash-forward is that a year from now, Kate still has not lost any weight. I know that there are many viewers who did not want the Kate story to be all about her weight, and to that end the weight loss theme was largely abandoned in S2. But it is disappointing that some of her first dialogue with Kevin in the pilot was "I am going to lose the weight," and it was a prevalent theme in S1, but it never happened. I'm not saying her story should be all about weight loss, but it just seems like a major plot/character shift (similar to Randall's, I suppose). It was reported during S1 that CM's contract stipulated she must lose weight, and now we know via the flash-forward that wasn't required by S3, apparently. I guess I am just confused by all the abrupt changes in main characters' storylines.
  23. Rebecca was 30ish when the kids were born, so she's 67-68 in the present day.
