  1. I lean more towards Joy, Sunny, and Sara on the Kamala Harris topic, Alyssa sounded ridiculous trying to pretend race and gender play no role whatsoever in the conversation and even feigning shock at the mere suggestion. Sexism aimed at the first woman to ever be in a particular role? Impossible! But Sara is right that Kamala probably has given some fodder here and there to the criticism of her. Interesting though that the show conveniently didn't have time for the list Sunny mentioned while giving Alyssa time to speak twice, including pulling out the smallest violin for her former boss, Pence; the EP being in Alyssa's favor reminds me of Elisabeth Hasselbeck days. Despite what Alyssa claimed, I don't think it says anything about the topic that she can come up with a pros list for Pence without much ado like that since selling people on him was actually her job not long ago. There isn't a former aide for Harris on the show in comparison. Mostly the topic--and the guest as well--felt like the show was throwing Alyssa a bone, lol.
  2. I feel like I've seen the same thing a million times with Alyssa finding some way to rationalize something indefensible like the Target topic. Not surprising when you have her number--I'm not gullible enough to believe someone like her is some LGBT ally just because she says it before every anti-LGBT cause or advocate she goes on to speak in support of, she only says what is expedient to say in order to get her talking points across and (she hopes) assist in causing harm. What's unbelievable is Sara saying she supports them doing it, too. Incredible... But to prove a broken clock can be right at least twice a day, I did agree with most of what Sara said about DeSantis. But I think it's more a case like with Whoopi and Alyssa, I can acknowledge when I agree with something or other she say from time to time, but she isn't a voice I'd ever find completely believable again because she's shown too much that's two-faced with what her past persona has been on this show for me to buy it anymore. All that said, I thought Tuesday's and Wednesday's were good shows otherwise. Of course, I feel the show in general has been fine this and last season with a dud show now and again. Admittedly, Joy is really the only thing that keeps me coming back every day, but I do like Ana and Sunny when I'm watching despite their foibles. Whoopi, Sara, and Alyssa can all be fun and add to the discussion even if I disagree with them or find them annoying a lot of the time, they're never to the point of show-ruining even if I wouldn't mind seeing the back of any of those three if the time ever did come. And since they've maintained #1 with Whoopi, Sara, Joy, Sunny, and Ana for several years now, I think the show will be fine in the ratings with this panel if they stayed the same 4-6 more seasons like some of their other iterations did over the years. She would've been right if she stuck to Idol having been the start of reality TV in general, not so much that show in itself. Who knows what Whoopi means half of the time. Because she's struggling with her words, sometimes I feel like she catches a thread and follows it to her own detriment sometimes in an attempt to make sense.
  3. Best of the duets to me by far, with the Lainey Wilson one somewhere behind.
  4. Wow, Colin going first. Another surprising result much like two weeks back. Thankfully I could simply sit back and enjoy the rest of the show after that. Iam does feel like the proper winner this season. I always thought he and We had the best voices, no doubt, with Megan becoming another favorite as the season went along. Both Iam and Megan came across incredibly genuine, both deserving, I would've been happy with either of them winning. I will definitely follow those two and We post-show. I would support Megan whether she goes country or Gospel (or both). Well, I think Idol on ABC has had a pretty great streak. They've had great winners every year other than Chayce and the show is besting The Voice in the ratings (and I think The Masked Singer as well?). Idol came back for their crown! And I admit it was nice to see a non-country contestant win for a change, too.
  5. No offense to the other actors, but I admit I have little interest in III since Lainie Kazan doesn't seem to be back.
  6. I like Nicolle on her own show. I've never watched much of CNN though, and knowing Alyssa's on there gives me no reason to start now, lol. Speaking of, I think--aside from the interests involved with Alyssa wanting to defend her former employers--there's also the interest she has in defending her current employer also at work. At least I think the fact that there are two CNN employees on The View has a role in the weird attempt to overspeak Sunny for criticizing that network the past two weeks. It is sort of weird now I think about it that ABC would want another network's employees, with the conflicts of interest that can be involved when said network becomes a Hot Topic as CNN has been multiple times the past month, involved in their coverage--and The View is, whether it should be or not, technically filed under ABC News. I get doing it for someone with a lot of popularity and fans to add to the viewerbase like Ana Navarro, but taking on that baggage for someone less valuable like Alyssa is strange.
  7. Not really surprised to see Sununu show up on here eventually, what with Alyssa name-dropping him almost daily. Looking forward to Sara Bareilles. Her last appearance on The View was a fun interview.
  8. Well, I'm personally tired of Sara's vapid commentary that adds nothing to the conversation. She's always been that way, but it was easy to ignore when she was playing "the nice one," but it's much more irritating on top of the attitude. Lately she reminds me of what happened to Nicolle Wallace on this show, only at least with Nicolle (even when she became unbearable in her pettiness) there was always some substance to be had. That's never been the case with Sara.
  9. Color me shocked--I almost expected to hear Sara defending MTG today simply because Sunny was also criticizing her, lol. I did miss seeing Ana today. She did seem a little taken aback last week by whatever it is with Alyssa and Sara tag teaming Sunny, maybe she just wanted a break from that, but I had been looking forward to a show with less of those two going on and on (and yet saying very little).
  10. I agree with Sunny, being stalked is very frightening, whether you're a celebrity or not. But like that clip of Adams being skeptical it was a two-hour chase and Alyssa bringing up how it almost deliberately brought back Diana, I think they likely over-dramatized it. Whoopi was right that there's an easy way to deal with crazy in-laws--don't invite them, don't answer the door, whatever. Who would want someone like that at their wedding?
  11. Sara sounded incredibly stupid on that first topic, arguing for a student being suspended for taping their teacher's massive blunder in actually using a slur that was being discussed? Yeah, yeah, if it happens, you wouldn't punish the child at home because they were in the right, sure, but to support the school suspending them in the first place, WTF? She's just a nutcase these days. It's very hard to imagine any parent allowing that to happen to their child considering what the situation was without causing a serious ruckus of some kind, threatening a lawsuit, whatever.
  12. I think the difference is the last co-host had friends at the top ensuring nothing would change until they were gone. Whereas these days, the ladies are a little more likely to be heard when making complaints behind-the-scenes. Of course, Sara is an ABC plant who similarly has pull at the top (probably by kissing ass like she's always done with Whoopi on this show) which is why she and Alyssa probaby feel emboldened that they have an edge on Sunny to run her over sideways.
  13. Interesting. I thought it might be Carrie Underwood and was excited. Oh, well. I like Reba and I like Niall. I like the other two as singers, just not as TV so much. A shame Reba and Kelly aren't on at the same time.
  14. I wasn't that surprised We went. Her second performance had the feeling of a goodbye from her interactions with the judges. She was my favorite this year, but I always felt Iam was the best shot at a good winner this year. I like Megan more every week. Hopefully the two country will divide and Iam will win like the year's Maddie and Just Sam won. I think it didn't happen last year because they had a great contestant in Noah and Leah (the non-country one) wasn't very good either to propel her to the win, at least JMO. Here's hoping Iam wins though, his voice is beautiful. He would probably be my third favorite winner of the ABC years if he managed it, behind Maddie and Noah but ahead of Laine. I was grateful for some song choices that were out-of-the-box last night. I was gritting my teeth in expectation of hearing "How Far I'll Go" and "You've Got a Friend in Me" for the umpteenth time.
  15. Interesting to see Moreno and Weaver again so soon. But good!
  16. ^ I think Sunny is the one that said that? I'm not sure. I don't agree with her that there aren't real independents. Only in some scenarios and related to certain topics might I agree with Sunny that "independents" are really just people who don't want to voice aloud what they actually support. On less divisive topics or figures though, I wouldn't say I agree with that.
  17. Watching today's show is just another reminder of how Alyssa's hiring was an example of the putrefication of the news and media. Having someone from a particular administration on The View to then regularly discuss the head of said administration is disturbing. So it's not surprising to me to see her continually attempt to make sure a critic of her former bosses can't even be heard, because her interests are for the people she worked for first and foremost. And for her to pretend like she gives a shit about "female journalists" simply as an attempt to silence Sunny's criticism of CNN considering all she's endorsed in her past and supports on this show is disgusting.
  18. That was after the first commercial, the part I was referring to was in the first segment. She and Alyssa feel like they're playing roles out of Mean Girls these days. At least it has been enlightening finding out what Sara is really like. Honestly I'd rather have somebody like Abby Huntsman in that seat rather than her these days. She'd be playing "back up" for Alyssa, too, no doubt, but at least she never felt fake and bitter like Sara.
  19. That's weird, but so is Whoopi wearing crocs the past two weeks. Anyway, I agreed with Joy mostly that CNN is a disgrace not for allowing a townhall, but for allowing the audience to be filled like a rally. And I won't feel sorry for Sara next time she gets interrupted by someone or other for the way she and Alyssa ran roughshod over Sunny's turn to speak today. And then she had the gall to look annoyed when Sunny wasn't done speaking at one point--I'm like if you'd STFU and let her speak, asshole, maybe she'd have been done already. Alyssa is vile. Water is wet, what else is new? You could see that crazy glimmer in her eyes today.
  20. The first part of her comments from YouTube: By implication--since he was not put in prison, it was because he was not deemed a "danger to society." And this had to be his past they were talking about even if she didn't say "in the past." It couldn't be the present because he's deceased? I guess since it's a long statement, it could've caused confusion that way, but I don't see how she could've been saying he should have been in prison from that. She was defending him, if anything. I think she was implying that new outlets and figures bringing up his past was an attempt to paint him as having "deserved it" even though she personally sees him as a victim?
  21. I don't think so, other than the winner's songs at the end. It's a shame, I personally would buy a compilation for some of the live performances even if they didn't want to go to the bother of making studio versions anymore.
  22. I don't have the time right now, but maybe someone else can make a transcript of her comments. Sunny can be self-righteous for sure, just not sure that is what she said this time is all. As far as today's show, it was fine. Whoopi going commando is something I didn't need to know though.
  23. I only liked the first two duets--particular Iam's with Oliver--but I agree that duets on this show often bring out something that maybe isn't there normally. The duet Chayce had with Casey was the only good performance he had, imo, other than maybe Disney night. And even going further back, I still remember how shocking the "Falling Away" duet between Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze was back when considering how boring / terrible the show was 95% of the time that season. I think it happens when you have one strong contestant who knows how to harmonize well working with another who's maybe so-so most of the time, the ability of the former helps the latter shine in a way they wouldn't normally and the latter contestant tries harder than they usually do because they're paired with someone that's a little out of their league vocally.
  24. I think she was misheard mostly? At least I didn't interpret her comments as saying the former at all...? From my viewing last night, the part that's being referred to is when she said that if those charged with sentencing him in the past when he had been arrested in his history thought he was a danger to society, they would've put him in prison rather than sending him to a rehab and/or mental facility. I also loved the ending with the teacher who was being honored.
  25. Wow, the results were shocking (in a good way)! Hopefully that continues next week. My picks to go would've been Warren, Colin, and Oliver, and at least two of them went. I'd rather Oliver had survived if one of them was going to. Still, I was shocked because I thought Warren would sail through since he got an early slot and Iam / We got slots in the middle of the show where contestants are more likely to suffer. It would be wonderful if we actually managed to get a top 3 of We, Iam, and Megan--I'd be happy with any of them as the winner (I imagine Megan would have the advantage being the country contestant though). I don't mind Zachariah still being around. He's grown on me a little. He seems like a nice guy and he did alright tonight. I'd like to think he's not a threat as far as winning goes, but who knows with this show's history. Hopefully Colin divides with Zachariah and Megan next week and doesn't make the finale, that would be a relief.
