I still like Underwood, but she can't be surprised by the criticism at all and I don't blame others for looking at her differently now. If she didn't want to be in that conversation, it was easily avoidable. That said, I think it's probably a calculated thing since it will probably help album sales and all that considering the genre she's in.

Everyone already knew Alyssa was a two-faced sell-out. She jumped ship at the opportune moment for the sake of her career (or so she thought, she probably would've stuck around now), not because she actually cared about anything. But I'm enjoying the fact that it's becoming more obvious now. Anyway, he doesn't need to be in the news nonstop to see justice post-presidency and I'm not sure how or why she thinks media coverage would or should have any bearing on whether or not justice was pursued anyway.

^ Yes, I forgot the show had been pre-empted. That's probably the main reason.

Decent week. Looking forward to Essman Friday. They should make her a co-host for the day, that way she could be on the weekend episodes, too.

Uh, the post above mine was discussing the argument the other day, not the Manny thing.... Once again, I have no idea what you're talking about.

Odd that a discussion where there was mostly tension between Alyssa and Joy / Whoopi is made out to be about...Sunny? I guess because some think making all things about Sunny is an easy way to "clear" Alyssa of anything awful she says or does on the show? It happens so often that that's why I thought it was smart of Sunny to sit back and let Joy and Whoopi do the arguing with Alyssa, but I forgot about how common reality distortion is these days.

Not from what I could see. Fact-checking is nice in theory, but only when the ones doing it have good intent. Unfortunately, there are sometimes those who live and breathe Alternative Facts who like to believe what they're doing is fact-checking, but really they're just ego-tripping, polluting the discourse, and curbing disagreement with their views. Putting their thumbs on the scale in other words. It's like putting the fox in charge of the hen house. Thankfully, that didn't seem to be the case with Meta back when they actually were fact-checkinng Covid misinformation, slurs, hate speech, and so on. The ladies (except Alyssa, naturally) were right that this was simply Zuckerburg bowing to power. I was glad that Joy read off that Meta had donated however much money to Trump's inauguration, that made the point even more obvious.

Sunny Hostin: The Former Federal Prosecutor With the Facts!
TheGreenKnight replied to GHScorpiosRule's topic in The View
Is Erika Jayne that Real Housewife Meghan McCan't ws obsessed with? If so, I say she isn't an apple or an orange, just irrelevant. -
Don't we all (esp. Sunny!!!). ;)

Great show today. I'm enjoying the others refusing to walk on eggshells around Alyssa, it's refreshing. I was glad Sunny sat back and let Whoopi and Joy take the reins after she was done, it was better that way. Joy's quip to Sara in the middle of it all was hilarious.

Pretty big differences there. Moonves was accused of sexual harassment (maybe more? I forget all the details). Moreover, her husband ran the network she worked on and her show only existed in the first place because she was wife of the CBS head. Even then, she could've stayed. From what she said at the time, other co-hosts on The Talk made it clear they would exit if she stayed and she ultimately decided to leave with her husband. -
https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/the-view-weekend-edition-abc-news-live-this-month-1236269465/ They're going to start airing half-hour shows on streaming during the weekend (pre-taped on Friday, I assume). I'm glad to get more of the Friday panel with Joy and Ana there at the same time, those are the best shows.

Whoopi Goldberg: EGOT Winner, So Why Is She Here?

^ Right? Alyssa shows more open hostility at more members of the panel than just one herself and who can take her seriously when her agenda is transparent to the point of absurdity most of the time these days. -

Well, there's no doubt certain circles (like the DailyMail) have the crosshairs on Sunny these days, it's crazy the hatred they have for her. Although I guess it's not really surprising, when you're good at delivering truth, you always draw a lot of fire. Almost reminds me of how the DailyMail obsessed over Rosie O'Donnell and Rosie Perez daily back in 2015; probably not a coincidence at all that McCain, who seemed to make it her mission to damage the show as much as possible, now works there. Would not be surprised at all that they might try to dig up or create a story about someone connected to Sunny for politically-motivated reasons*. But at least it's something that really has nothing to do with her specifically, since it's about her husband and not her. * Coincidentally, you can scroll up and find there was another DailyMail story about Sunny's daughter posted (by the same poster at that) just a little time ago. Interesting... -
Just watched the first segment now--wow, Alyssa and Sara were full of it more than usual this morning. They were spinning overtime trying to pretend the decision to outsource jobs instead of being America First isn't the complete hypocrisy it is. As Joy said, they're the ones cutting public education funding that would make Americans qualified, and I loved her pointing out that Trump himself was never qualified for anything and for refusing to let Alyssa re-write what the topic was about.

Whoopi Goldberg: EGOT Winner, So Why Is She Here?
TheGreenKnight replied to Lisin's topic in The View
Too bad ABC doesn't do those Live! holiday type shows. Annie with Whoopi as Hannigan would actually be a pretty good idea for one. -
Sunny looked gorgeous today aside from the eye makeup. I don't know why they try to use red or yellow for eyeshadow on this show, it's not flattering to anyone.
-
I hated the green one. Hopefully they don't pull that one out again.

Not sure in the slightest how her bank account has anything at all to do with it. Murder is wrong, period. A medical diagnosis doesn't excuse you. Injecting some out-of-place class hatred into this doesn't make your point any less nonsensical. l mean, this: Makes no sense whatsoever. I guess you need to resort to dramatics when you have nothing else. And, yes, I'll say it--so what, WHO CARES! Murderers go to jail. And, personally, I always laughed at the Valley Girl and Queen of England voices. 🤷♂️

I did think this morning how exhausting it was to listen to Sara while she was going on and on, and how she tried to imply Sunny was endorsing violence. Thay last part made me realize Sara's just as bad as Alyssa these days, I really don't care if she's just saying what she's been told to say (since I know that seat always plays the role of supporting whoever's sitting in Alyssa's chair). And considering Sara/Alyssa seem to talk double the others, the show's a chore these days. I guess fastforwarding through the two of them might make it a little bearable, but then you have days where Whoopi's being ornery like the whole thing with Ana, too, so... And they barely talk before they're off to commercial. I remember when the first segment used to be 13-15 minutes before the first commercial and now it's 8 minutes-ish.🙄 If you cut Alyssa/Sara out, then the first segment's probably 3 minutes long, lol.

Not sure what "privilege" is indicated by Joy saying back pain isn't an excuse for murdering someone, LOL. I think most people would agree with that statement.
-
To thr bold--how can she panic when she's gleeful about everything he'll do? Thank God Ana was there, someone who doesn't give a damn whether she steps on Whoopi's hollow topic-ending speeches or a snake like Alyssa's shilling. (Just want to be careful not to connect Whoopi and Alyssa because they aren't the same--Whoopi just doesn't like to be contradicted or interrupted, whereas Alyssa is vile in her positions and intentions.)
-
^ I'm pulling out my smallest violin for Alyssa. 🙄 She's done much worse things in her life than ask someone if they're pregnant, that's for sure. I'm wondering when she and Sara will leave already since they feel so persecuted, lol. Joy is no doubt the show's best moderator after Meredith, then Rosie next. Barbara and Whoopi were (are, in Whoopi's case) both good and bad in different ways. Barbara could be way too boring, but could add more gravity to a serious discussion; Whoopi is a trainwreck sometimes, but she brings the fire to certain topics and she's the only one who can handle certain guests who talk a mile a minute or shout. Still, I do prefer when Joy's just one of the co-hosts since she gets to give her opinions more that way. That was something the last co-host used to do, too. You know you're off the map when you're not even trying to argue the point anymore and the only thing you can do is try to stop the truth from being heard. I'm glad Joy made sure Sunny was able to get her sentence out when Sara talked over her.
