  1. Personally, I enjoy the show when Joy's there even if they're talking about fluff and nonsense, as long as they at least have one serious topic at the beginning of the show, but I miss when they would end up covering most stories out there. I could tell Ana was sort of disinterested with most of the topics today though and felt like they were a waste of her time. Don't really blame her for feeling that way, and it doesn't bother me since she still let everybody else talk.
  2. So happy Psaki finally got a show~! I wish it was a daily show rather than once a week though. Perhaps shave off an hour from Morning Joe or move somebody elsewhere. Maybe she'll get one of those in time if she does well with this. I suppose it's better that she work her way up to that. Perhaps she'll still contribute throughout the week on other shows this way. I like most of their hosts--Wallace, Kornacki, Maddow, Tur, Reid, Melber, now Psaki. Wagner and Hayes are okay. Heilemann is another one like Psaki with potential for his own show, imo. No doubt I'd watch a show of Claire McCaskill if she ever got one, too, but I think being a contributor is actually a better fit for her since she gets to show up all over the schedule.
  3. I don't get why they keep up with the charade that Whoopi's sick when we know she probably just wanted a week off because of the holiday on Monday. I mean, I surely will not complain about her desire for a break... ;) Then again, Sara sounded a little under the weather today, perhaps Whoopi actually did pick up something that went around the studio? Personally, I think four has always been better, it was four all the time back in the old days (with Barbara being out most of the time). If only we could've had Ana in place of one of Sara / Alyssa instead, it would've been perfect.
  4. Better for The View, too. Nicolle and Whoopi were awful together. Personally, I still said that a week ago when Sunny was conspicuously absent and Ana was there instead. It's Sara that makes me groan when I see her come out these days... Well, I mean, Whoopi, too, but I've felt that way towards Whoopi for close to a decade now, whereas my dislike of Sara is more recent.
  5. Sunny's been biding her time with those for years now, too. Nothing has happened..... I was surprised when I posted last night that there were no comments about yesterday's show at all. Now I check here, and there's like 20 comments in one day. So, I mean... Sunny is doing her job, I guess, lol.
  6. I get he was probably wanting to talk about something more serious, but fluff shows like The View always do this with their guests unless they're politicians. I imagine they do that because most guests are really only there to advertise whatever they're in currently, and don't want to take the risk of stepping into the crosshairs by talking about serious matters. He'd have to have deliberately steered the interview into a more serious direction like Chastain did the week before, if that's what he wanted.
  7. I was excited at first when the show first started today, with Whoopi off and all, but then they went straight to interviews after the first break. Bleh. So I didn't mind ABC Breaking News cutting in at the end of Jordan's interview, no loss there.
  8. Loved the show today! Well, the last 15 minutes were a bit dull, but I'm not a Trekkie, so... Sunny and Ana both looked really nice. The funniest moment for me was the audience's reaction to Kim Kardashian being mentioned in the same breath as Raquel Welch, but Ana's diatribe in the first segment about DeSantis wanting to ban the alphabet and breaking into the Mickey Mouse Club theme song was hilarious, too.
  9. Nathan Lane's segment was blink-and-you'll-miss-him length. Personally, they should've cut the previous segment of Whoopi kvetching over Sunny's relationship views the billionth time and given that to him instead.
  10. Monday sounds like it must've been a joy from that day's comments, lol. Alyssa and Sara had been awful Friday, too, from what I recall. Never posted about yesterday's show--Joy was on fire, loved it! I'm glad she's made it clear she has no interest in retiring for the record. And I agreed with her that the fact that students aren't taught cursive these days is utterly ridiculous. I've only watched the first half hour of today's episode so far, but I thought it was alright. Personally, my impression these days is Teta, Alyssa, and Sara are aligned against the others most of the time, so I wouldn't be surprised to learn they've nixed certain topics from being discussed behind-the-scenes. At least there have been things said in past seasons that there's a vote between the panelists and those in charge on what topics will be discussed when they all come in each day.
  11. Maybe they got the name wrong. Sara would be the more likely View host who might be considered by ABC for a role like that one, since they often move her around.
  12. Joy looked really nice today, hair, outfit, etc. I thought the interview was actually the highlight today, a rare thing for The View. Chastain's comments on Iran were pretty powerful--and in some ways they felt like a full circle moment to the discussion in the first segment, actually. I suppose she must've been backstage watching at the beginning of the show.
  13. I've surprisingly thawed to Alyssa a little bit this week. I guess it's where she was more casual, less reserved, and had more of a joking manner with Joy, she came off less calculating. She's starting to get to a place where she's becoming more of a Paula Faris than a Jedediah Bila for me; Paula and Joy were friendly in a way that never felt like an act even if they were polar opposites as far as their views.
  14. Alyssa was pretty good today. I loved the bit with the Joy portrait in her dressing room closet. "Lucky you."
  15. Yeah, I think Harington and Chastain were the only guests this week that looked any good when I read the list yesterday. I think Eboni Williams tried out a couple of times last year or am I wrong? At least the name looks familiar.
  16. Joy had the best comments in the first segment, blowing apart the mental illness deflect from Alyssa with, "Don't they have the mentally ill in the E.U.?" Throwing a bone Alyssa's way though, I did laugh when she was begging that George Santos not end up with a show on Netflix. The topic about the millionaire paying to get his 18-year-old body back was hilarious to me? Between Joy's "She didn't get these back, she gave them back" about Sunny's, ahem, reduction and then Whoopi going off on a tangent about how a study would know mice got their memories back.
  17. I am very glad she doesn't scream, that's for sure. And that she can laugh when there's a joke rather than looking stone-faced over everything Joy or Whoopi say. She's alright. When she showed a picture of her sister recently, they looked so similar in the face, although Alyssa gives me more of a "New Jersey" vibe, maybe it's the tan? (She could be from NJ for all I know. 😄 ) Perhaps that's why I thought she looked nice a few weeks ago with her hair bigger. I remember another poster thought I must have been shading her at the time since they didn't like it, lol, but I was being serious. Joy looked great today in the white blazer. I remember for years she wore nothing but black, they would even joke about it on the show now and again. It's nice seeing her being more free with the clothes the show gives them to wear.
  18. Whoopi was pretty funny in the way she opened the first topic ("I, too, have found classified documents at my house"--for those who haven't watched yet). I agree with Joy that the Pence situation takes a lot of the partisanship out of the discussion, and keeps the spotlight on Trump's obstruction as compared to Pence and Biden who were both forthright and cooperating. I like that Joy can mess around with all of them, like bringing up Sara's therapy at one point today.
  19. Speaking of hosts we often criticize, I'll give kudos to Alyssa's comments on the same topic for being honest and acknowledging that while naturally people like McConnell see DeSantis as having better chances than Trump in a general since he comes with less baggage, insider figures have had very little impact on what the base chooses to do the past few years in the end.
  20. On the parenting topic, I think Sunny's delivery came across a little bitter over how the other co-hosts disagree with her in those kinds of discussions all the time. That said, good for Whoopi actually letting her give her view for once, even though she disagrees. And I agreed with Whoopi during the opening that DeSantis isn't an off-ramp from Trump, the difference between the two of them is almost non-existent at this point.
  21. Well, I'm against stars from reality TV on principle usually, but even with that aside, I'd prefer someone like Juju Chang, Julia Haart, Deborah Roberts, etc. if they ever were to hire somebody else. I'm pretty sure the contracts are in place with the current panel through '24 or '25. Maybe they could hire Lindsay if Sara ever decides to go back to ABC infotainment fodder.
  22. I actually had the opposite thought about this panel today, it made me think the unthinkable that the show might be more interesting if they'd hired Tara instead of Alyssa at this point, and I say that as someone who was not a Tara fan. Sometimes it feels like all the co-hosts are being told to walk on eggshells for Alyssa's sake which makes everything very boring--Alyssa herself is too busy trying to rehab her terrible reputation that she doesn't offer much in the way of disagreement most of the time--and Sara in particular has become very unlikable since Alyssa joined the show. It's funny, I thought perhaps that Ana and Sunny would get to be unbearable if Tara was hired (since the three are friends in real life, I thought they'd end up steamrolling the others) and the show would be better off with someone else, but it looks like that happened to Sara instead with Alyssa there. I personally didn't like the Bachelorette co-host, although she at least gave a pretty good response on one of the topics today, I think it was the second segment when they were talking about the college course. It was the same one one where I was eyerolling over Sara's comments just because of how opposite it was to some things she's said on other topics the past two months.
  23. The video of Joy's daughter imitating her yesterday was so cute. Wow, I hadn't heard about that accident Chenoweth talked about before now? Good to have a day without Whoopi. I would've much rather Sara or Alyssa was off rather than Sunny though, too bad. The show was alright today, but what a dull two weeks The View has had.
  24. Dolly was lovely as always, and she overcame the technical difficulties very gracefully (missing part of Whoopi's question at the beginning and the camera being awkwardly stuck on her too long at the end). Otherwise, a mostly dull show, imo.
  25. ^ Too bad they didn't put him on Monday when Ana's there to see him instead of Leslie Jones, that way I wouldn't have to see him. I like Jones, but don't think I need to watch just for her. I've already seen her on several other shows the past week as it is. Her guest appearance on Jimmy Fallon was hilarious (no, I don't watch Fallon regularly). Looking forward to Dolly, Chenoweth, and Mel B.
