Not sure what "privilege" is indicated by Joy saying back pain isn't an excuse for murdering someone, LOL. I think most people would agree with that statement.
-
To thr bold--how can she panic when she's gleeful about everything he'll do? Thank God Ana was there, someone who doesn't give a damn whether she steps on Whoopi's hollow topic-ending speeches or a snake like Alyssa's shilling. (Just want to be careful not to connect Whoopi and Alyssa because they aren't the same--Whoopi just doesn't like to be contradicted or interrupted, whereas Alyssa is vile in her positions and intentions.)

^ I'm pulling out my smallest violin for Alyssa. 🙄 She's done much worse things in her life than ask someone if they're pregnant, that's for sure. I'm wondering when she and Sara will leave already since they feel so persecuted, lol. Joy is no doubt the show's best moderator after Meredith, then Rosie next. Barbara and Whoopi were (are, in Whoopi's case) both good and bad in different ways. Barbara could be way too boring, but could add more gravity to a serious discussion; Whoopi is a trainwreck sometimes, but she brings the fire to certain topics and she's the only one who can handle certain guests who talk a mile a minute or shout. Still, I do prefer when Joy's just one of the co-hosts since she gets to give her opinions more that way. That was something the last co-host used to do, too. You know you're off the map when you're not even trying to argue the point anymore and the only thing you can do is try to stop the truth from being heard. I'm glad Joy made sure Sunny was able to get her sentence out when Sara talked over her.

I was talking about Sara and Alyssa there.

My favorite part was when he brought up how the media never covers Trump the way he should be and pointed out how Teta (and others behind-the-scenes?) at The View put their thumbs on the scale in regards to making the ladies "correct" things where no correction is needed to help Trump's coverage.
-
I've noticed Sara's and Alyssa's frustration with the others, too, but I see it more as a sign of their (Sara/Alyssa's) arrogance and the fact they don't even understand the show they're on. They seem to believe the other co-hosts are required to agree with their take otherwise they're being unreasonable, but this is an opinion show and the others don't agree with them. Talking double the time of the others, speaking after everyone, and making personal attacks isn't suddenly going to make them change their minds. They should accept that, they'd be less bitter.

Still more than Sara.

Yay! Always wished they could've brought her back after McCain was finally kicked to the curb instead of hiring Alyssa, but I don't think she or Paula would have been interested in returning at the time because of personal life choices. It would be nice if Abby felt differently now, I'd take her over Sara or Alyssa, they both come across so bitter.
-
The things that are the most similar--besides the far right nutjobbery--are how the other co-hosts generally have their hands tied behind their back by The People That Be in their responses to her and the fact that she tries to speak before and after (occasionally during) everyone who doesn't agree with her--including Whoopi when she's trying to end the segment. She's been able to make things very personal in the way that she responds to Sunny and Ana in a way they aren't allowed to with her. Nobody seems allowed to bring up the fact that she was a Trump lackey or call into question her credibility or bring up her family background on the show the way she attempted bringing up Sunny's education last week during the voucher discussion, for example. Anyway, a quota of political views wasn't a part of Barbara Walters' description of the conceit for the show, just different backgrounds. Besides, even as far as far right co-hosts go, they've had better--Paula came across more genuine and nice than AlyssSSssa ever has.

Monday was a breath of fresh air without Alyssa. Missed Joy today like the studio audience apparently, but at least Ana was there to keep the show from being off-balance. Agreed with Sunny, Ana, and Whoopi during the Thanksgiving discussion. Loved seeing Chenoweth, I didn't know she had a movie coming out. Is it releasing in theaters? It looked a bit like a Lifetime movie.

And I expect with a therapist who wasn't a much worse person than all their patients. For every great therapist, there's know-it-all monster Dr. Phil types who talk out their ass. I was glad Joy took it to Sara and Alyssa as much as Sunny today, the show is just off-balance with Sara and Alyssa tagteaming one person nonstop. Naturally both Sara and Alyssa try to keep Joy quiet these days, between the age barb Alyssa threw at one point during the interview and Sara complaining about Joy complimenting the show's theme song--glad Joy doesn't give a damn what either of those snakes want. Loved Ana for that comment about how she's a Republican, so she's not going to lecture someone else's party like Alyssa, LOL. I couldn't believe how absurd Alyssa was when she claimed there were good things that came out of Trump's 2017 tax bill. Whew! It was nice seeing Joy and Ana being playful with each other at the end there.

They've also left out points like how Incumbent parties worldwide have been losing. The party in power lost much narrowly here than in most other countries.

True. And that's the purpose of a candidate like Trump being so extreme in his rhetoric; by being that way for such a long period at the level of national politics, you can hopefully pull the center further away. I think Alyssa has given some credible reasons for the loss, but Sunny and the others have as well. I don't think it's an either/or, but both. The reason I don't think Sunny likes to listen to Alyssa is mainly how giddy and excited Alyssa seems about it all. Loved when Joy explained to Alyssa yesterday that she and her family (like many) also grew up poor and not able to afford a car or house, but still didn't turn to hatred as their response. And I was glad Joy mentioned she wasn't a pundit like Alyssa, too, it just goes back to how neither Sara or Alyssa fit this show with one trying to turn it into The Talk and the other into some impersonal, opinionless news broadcast.

I agreed with a few things Smith was saying, but checked out when he said he doesn't think Trump is fringe or extreme....
-
I'm glad Sunny treated Alyssa with the same disdain today that Alyssa had treated her with yesterday. Laughable she thinks Hillary and Kamala losing versus Biden winning against him has absolutely nothing at all to do with misogyny--what kind of fever dream she must be living in. What an awful, disgusting woman she is. Whoopi's right that he's not going to jail now he will have power over the investigations into him. Well, at least not for the current crimes; I'm sure there will be others by the time 2028 comes around if the government isn't overthrown by then.

I don't think that's an accusation, it's a known fact that she's a conservative fill-in considering they only looked at conservatives for that seat and she worked in a Republican administration whereas nobody else they've had on has only worked in the administrations being discussed. No, the "accusation" is that Alyssa is two-faced, someone who claims to be anti-Trump for the sake of popularity and pull--knowing nobody would rightly listen to her if she was open in her support--who then says everything she possibly can to help his position, from criticizing his opponents incessantly, attempting to censor her co-hosts, working overtime to control the direction of every discussion they have. Actions speak louder than words and she's already shown who she is many times over. As for the rest, I don't think the co-hosts were that shocked or angry. That's just the usual narrative against more liberal media figures in news and entertainment who are hated, been there and heard those lines for a decade now.

I went back and watched, and EBL is incorrect. Alyssa was shaking her head in the first segment when Sunny was finished speaking. Sunny didn't make the comment about uneducated voters until the second segment, so...
-
Oh, Lord, what a joke to make her "correct" something like that. It couldn't be more clear that Brian and Alyssa tilt the show one way. I think he's worse than Geddie at this point, at least Geddie didn't pretend it was about "misinformation" when he sent Elisabeth out to read his talking points.
-
I agreed with Sunny as far as of course you always feel some level of surprise despite it all, but you're not really surprised at the same time, particularly if you live in certain parts of the country versus others. Of course Alyssa was shaking her head as Sunny finished--no surprise why Sunny doesn't like the woman. As for Alyssa, I don't care who she claims to have voted for. The biggest determiner of this outcome goes back to Biden's age being talked about ad nauseum in the media a la e-mails coverage and she was one of the biggest proponents of that. People like her knew that it was unlikely a new candidate being switched in last minute could win, she doesn't fool me. The good thing is she won't be able to hide in the background anymore, people will become much more aware of the shilling when she's defending Trump every day for years straight.
-
Exactly. There was nothing misleading about the shows's coverage considering the clip showed him referring to her being a war hawk at the start. It was simply another example of his violent rhetoric being directed at an "enemy" and the show discussed it as such. There's a very big difference between "misinformation" and something you simply disagree with. Unfortunately, it seems a common tactic to mischaracterize things as "misinformation" to target and silence disagreement the last few years. And I think both Brian and Alyssa practice that tactic on the show regularly, too, imo.

Being an ABC employee again (or on his way) probably calmed the obnoxiousness down, lol.
-
I was glad Cheney didn't show. Leaving aside her being boring, it was nice to have a full show of just the co-hosts. I'd rather they have less guests, but ABC wants to promote, promote, promote nonstop. Same reason for all the View Your Deals.
-
Not surprised. There is a real hatred behind antagonizing both the co-hosts on the show as well as its Viewers. Speaks to the state of the country.
-
Loved the close-up of Whoopi's face in that old clip. I'm glad they took the time to re-play it, so funny.
-
If only some people in the world could keep that in mind when having meltdowns about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, LOL. Death threats and hateful rhetoric over something that barely matters.
