Didn't love him in Raised by Wolves either.

S03.E03: Keep Your Family Close, and Your Pans Closer
eelpout replied to Quilt Fairy's topic in Crime Scene Kitchen
is it me or does it seem like Joel McHale is YELLING all the time? He even referenced it once. I've even had to resort to changing the volume now when he comes on screen just in case. this can't be unintentional, can it? -
I just started watching this. It's a riff on 2004's Primer... down to the storage facility and "the box." Not a coincidence I think, and I assume the creators must be fans of it. :)

Either Feathers was the thief, or Nanna Carson, who was often "never around" was.

any more insight into what happened with chef David Murphy and Last Chance Kitchen now that the season is over?
-
IMO this whole show is special effects.

I fear this is going to fall into the category of 52 minutes of padded minor plot forwarding, followed by 2 minutes of "something shocking" to get one to go to the next episode. I'll give it a couple more hours. then probably give up and add the books to the list.

Tournament of Champions - Season 5 Discussion Thread

yeah, when I brought her up, I wasn't trying to say judges would go one way or another with her, just that as far as I can recall, her Indian flavorings have been unique in the contest. -
i'm not familiar with the actor playing Maximus (Aaron Moten), but he certainly has good comic timing here. 🙂

it was pretty clear based on Hunter's abrupt turn around in the background that the producer whose arms Antonia fell into shewed him away. Good call. Maneet C. is a great chef, but... I will forever look slightly askew at the judging because based on the field of chefs, even with the large group this year, it's always fairly obvious when she is cooking. -
and aren't he and his hairline like 80 or something? Amazing.

S04.E17: Reunion Part 1

seems to be regional (and somewhat generational), notice it lately in Rocky Mountain areas. and yeah, it's annoying. :) -
S04.E07: An Olive Branch with Thorns

are we surprised Monica and her mother acted like this at the Easter party considering their behavior at the past-their-prime home the previous episode? I was a bit shocked at the polling in the tacked-on Frat Boy episode immediately after. The majority sided with Monica??? wow. Maybe more people have sour parental dynamics issues than I imagined and blame their lives on their mothers (I know a few). -

I just assumed the bag was for all the production crew too since Mary made them drive all the way there. All that eye rolling they must do burns calories. -
sad when the best parts of a movie are and a falling dog over the credits.

grew up in Minnesota and it was often referred to as "North Country" at least in advertising in the 1970's.

(Never mind. Figured it out myself) -
obviously, this show needs the combo of Sunny AND Brian Malarkey to really drive people away. and FYI Sunny, I live like 30 minutes from Half Moon Bay, NO ONE calls it "PCH" up here in Northern California. It's simply "Highway 1." That's for Southern California types only.

I always figured the difference is that it appears Glen can be truly alone on Parsifal. On the bigger super yachts, there's likely always the "secret crew" of first officer and engineers wandering about and there is no real privacy.
-
if it's any consolation, in the first ep. Brian M. was not as annoying as I expected him to be. 🙃

I was thinking the St. Elsewhere angle too. Actually, I'm a bit disappointed that the whole thing wasn't dreamt and imagined, like Pixie Styx theorized, that the snow globe was given to Ted after his interview. This may have been a bit too clever though and maybe 6 of us watching would have figured this out, so good this wasn't it. :)

Tournament Of Champions - General Discussion
eelpout replied to crimsongrl's topic in Tournament Of Champions
am I mistaken or in past seasons weren't the judges present to see who the finalists were at the very end and who won? Ours cut out early after Mei was handed the belt (sigh) so maybe they were there and we missed it. -

for me that Solanum lycopersicum went splat ages ago. -
I reason it's rooted in anti-Boomer thinking because we say "cool" all the time. 🙃 This show can disappear for me and I wouldn't miss it.

...and tall. She's Plain and Tall. It was just sitting there. 🙃
