I guess I'm in the minority of really enjoying this episodes. I have to give it to Shonda, she made me feel bad for Cyrus. I loved his speech about what he wanted to do in his first 100 days. The use of Wade in the Water during that scene gave me chills. I like the twist that Cyrus truly did love and care for Frankie, and was devestated by his death. I really enjoyed the trio of Huck, Quinn, and Charlie tonight (then again, I've actually always like all 3 characters). Huck's line about how annoying workplace affairs made me chuckle. Oh, I really want Liz Norths wardrobe. I need those palazzo pants in my life!

I liked it. Then again, I'm pretty easy to please. Lord help me, I like Olivia and Mellie as friends. And I hate to say it, but Olivia was right. Mellie would have lost a bunch of voters for publically being involved with Marcus. It's so freaking wrong and unfair, but there's no way in hell a bunch of white Republican men would have been fine with their relationship. I want to see more of the FBI Director, though not as an enemy of Olivia's. I guess I'd like to see more female friendships on this show.

Ah, that clears that up. There's no way Jake could have done it. I use to live in that area and it's at least a 2 hour drive from Harrisburg to D.C. (I have family in DC, so I'd make that drive pretty often).

I thought Vargas accepted his win in Philly, then was airlifted to D.C. after he was shot. Then again, I was having trouble with my TV signal and missed a few things. I think it would be an interesting twist if none of the Goon Squad had anything to do with the assassination. Like, it really was a lone gunman, and now they have to deal with the aftermath.

In Memoriam: Entertainment Industry Celebrity Deaths

I'm glad to see this. I work downtown, and not many people know that it was moved to the visitor center (I go in pretty often because it's a cool place). I'll have to stop by and pay my respects tomorrow. -
Lt. Abbie Mills: Lef-tenant Fist-bump

http://madamenoire.com/745983/nicole-beharie-afropop/ Good for Nicole! -
I just realized that the season premiere is tonight. Usually I had the premiere date marked in my calander, and I made sure to clear my evening so I could watch it live (and live tweet). This year I'm going to catch up on Crazy Ex Girl Friend on Netflix, then go perform in an improv show. Maybe I should make a bit about it,lol.

Spawn was animated and featured at least one black writer (Gerard Brown, who is a relative of mine!).

Riding the Pettycopter with you! Though, I would love to hear certain folks do an unauthorized commentary track.

The fact that blue ray sales are slipping warms the cockles of my cold, petty heart.

Me too! I think that's one of the reasons I haven't been able to finish Luke Cage.

I belong to a black nerd group on Facebook that has a Abbie Mills Vs Misty Knight thread going on right now. I love Simone Missick as Knight, but felt sad because I could totally see Nicole in that role. Maybe she could play her sister in season 2. I haven't finished season 1, so no spoilers! Also, this was my favorite response to the thread:

I just started watching it. I love it!

Season 1 of Sleepy Hollow featured 5 black actors in starring or reoccurring roles. Season 4 will have one, maybe 2. And they wonder why the ratings dropped. Smh.

http://www.idigitaltimes.com/star-trek-discovery-cast-new-ship-captain-may-be-black-woman-bryan-fuller-hints-547540 Most people are speculating that they might try to get Angela Basset or Zoe Salanda. A few of my fellow black scifi nerds are caping for Nicole. Can you imagine her as the ship captain? It would be amazing!

I think I've found my people. I hated Sonny and Jason with the passion of a thousand suns. I stopped watching because of those two also.

I had an irrational dislike of her character on True Blood, so I'm really not impressed with the casting news. I was considering checking out the first episode of the season, but this just killed any interest I had in watching.

Wow, they're really trying to make sure this show doesn't come back for a 5th season, right? Generic new partner who is similar to Abbie? Check. Ditch half the cast? Check? Move the show from its namesake location? Check. I don't know why I'm holding out hope that they will fix this mess. So disappointing.

Bye Felicia: TV Characters Who've Been Killed Off
LeeLeePanda replied to DollEyes's topic in Actor/Character-Related Talk
I just finished season 4 of Orange is the New Black, and Pousseys death gutted me. I literally almost vomited at the end of the episode, that's how hard it was to watch. -
I have to agree. I'm glad Mison acknowledged why fans are upset and that he knows that what happened was a slap in the face. I don't begrudge him for staying on the show. It's a steady paycheck for at least one more year for him. I'm still not planning to watch next season, though. I watched because I wanted to see Abbie and Crane defeat evil together. I'd say the same thing if Crane had been the one killed off, and Abbie was left. The show worked because of the leads together. Without the both of them it's just another generic fantasy show.

The CEO can take all the seats. What an insulting load of malarkey. She literally just killed any interest I might have had in checking out next season. Ill be blunt: the majority of the angry fans are people of color. Yes, I know a lot of white fans are angry too, but so many poc have been vocal on what Abbie Mills means to them. I feel like she's saying that our anger doesn't matter, that our opinions aren't important. She's ignoring the fact that a huge part of the shows audience was black, and are upset. The show hemmoraged fans for a reason in season 2, and will lose even more in season 4. They will never see the audience of season 1 again, and definitely don't deserve it. Also, if Nicole really was such a diva and made things unpleasant, then why aren't more people talking about it? What do they have to lose by being honest? Tom was very vocal about his displeasure about the direction the show was going in, and most of it benefited his character! No one is saying that he needed to be fired.

The only reason it got renewed is because they need to fill the spot American Idol left. The show is literally just filler now. Theyll probably get ok ratings for the first episode of the season from people who want to see how much of a train wreck it is, and then just drop off. What a waste.
