  1. This is one of my biggest pet peeves on reality shows. Contestants often get so mad at other contestants who are also trying to play the game. I don't understand it, and it's maddening! I think it's the dead eyes, the blank 1000-yard stare.
  2. @kia112 - Thanks! So, Deacon wasn't really the "bad guy" in that storyline, so much as the whole story was sort of messed up? And now I'm off to YouTube just how hot those Brooke/ Deacon scenes were...
  3. I agree that the agents seem a little less competent this season, and it's annoying. Johnny risking his cover because the target's sister is pretty, Jakes blowing up his whole life and risking the job and the other agents, Paige putting her life in danger unnecessarily, Briggs doing I-don't-even-know-what to try to keep the whole Badillo mess covered up .. they all just seem to be hot messes. No wonder they can't catch the bad guys! I don't mind the darkness, and in fact I think it's kind of interesting to watch, but some occasional humor wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.
  4. Can someone give me a brief recap of the Brooke/ Deacon history? I think Deacon seems delightfully fun, and I'm curious about what he did to Brooke that was such a bad story.
  5. The stupidity of some of these people (cough-Cody-cough) is painful to watch. I just don't get it. If everyone is against Britt, then why is it so necessary to get her out right now? It's unlikely she'll be able to put together any sort of power alliance at this point, and she can be a target next week. And Cody *has* to know that Caleb will be coming after him, or at least won't be voting for Cody to win. It's just ridiculous. And so disappointing. I really want Donny to stay, and I don't trust these sheep to think for themselves, and if Derrick decides for some reason that Donny needs to go, I will be so sad.
  6. I think that while Patrick is not THE victim, he is A victim. Yeah, Robin is being blackmailed/ forced to reanimate people, and that is really crappy. (Honestly, I don't even remember all the facts about this - didn't Robin have some choice in the matter?) Either way, Patrick was left behind with a young daughter, and both Patrick and Emma had to mourn Robin all over again. That's pretty crappy too. And I think Anna might try to actually help if she knew what was going on with Robin, other than "she went back to Africa". Doesn't really matter though, I guess, because Robin's not coming back, and that marriage is over.
  7. I'm intrigued by this Victoria mystery too. I didn't see all of what happened earlier, but I wonder if she accused Derrick or someone in production of being inappropriate toward her? With her background and belief system, it might be easy for something to come across wrong or for her to feel uncomfortable with something that someone said or did (not saying she wouldn't be justified in being upset, just saying there does seem to be a bit of a cultural difference there, which can lead to issues). But, she has seemed okay with most of what's gone on in the house so far, so I guess I really have no idea. Maybe it's all just getting to be too much for her? Or maybe they told her that production is making her go home this week (wouldn't put it past them)? I think that if it was about what's happening in Israel, they would plan to show that on the on-air show, and so wouldn't be fishing it when she mentions it. But obviously, I'm just spit-ballin' here. So annoyed with all these people right now. I'm tired of these all-male "badass" alliances, and tired of these women that tend to just go along with the men, hoping to either get to the jury, or to be protected a la Jordan until the end. It's just so infuriating. It doesn't have to be a gender-based game, and I will never understand why they make it one. Even worse - if it must be a gender-based game, why in the world will the women never get together to form a power alliance? Do. Not. Understand.
  8. @OhioSongbird, I starting watching B&B a couple months ago, getting ready for Sean Kanan's appearance after I was so pissed about how he was treated at GH. I found it relatively easy to get up to speed, with the help of this board. I'm still missing some history, but overall I think the show does a pretty good job of explaining who is who and what's going on over a period of weeks, without being obnoxiously redundant. And the flashbacks? Have been absolutely amazing. Seriously, there was one recently with Brooke on a horse IN A WEDDING DRESS, and even though I had no idea what was going on, it was fantastically amusing. When Wyatt showed Deacon the diamond (still don't understand what the diamond is all about...), my first thought was that Deacon was going to work to manipulate Hope in to going back to Wyatt. I'm hoping he won't go all Quinn on us, and try to kill Liam, but I think he'll try something to get Liam out of the picture and get that diamond in the "family". Although, I guess he has a lot of work to do to get Hope to consider him family?
  9. Having men topless but not women may be a double standard, but the fault is not with the show. It's with the FCC/ network executives. Naked-on-top ladies are not allowed on network tv, and certainly not during the day. Men? Totally okay, any time, on any channel. And I don't see any sexual harassment argument to be made here - many women on the show get as "naked" as the censors allow them to be, and often. It's kind of expected on a soap. I liked Maxie's dress today. But I am hating, more and more, how she refuses to get a clue. Said it before, but I think it bears repeating: Maxie was never this gullible or stupid, and it's infuriating to watch. Sure, she doesn't trust her gut right now, but Come. On. I didn't mind Anna telling Patrick that she understood why he was wanting a divorce (unpopular opinion day for me, I guess!). Robin "died", reappeared, and then voluntarily (as far as Anna knows) left again - anyone would get why the left-behind spouse was done. I didn't see Anna taking Patrick's side so much as trying to just be supportive. But I do wish Patrick would tell Anna what Robin is really up to and why. Nina is so over the top and so bad, she reminds me of the now-defunct Passions.
  10. Bill didn't fire Nick? I really need to pay more attention, I guess! I thought Nick was booted. I figured the swearing bet on the Northwestern has some producer influence behind it. Those guys were all way too agreeable about not cussing, and Sig actually "losing" and doing the dishes - not sure I buy it. But, I suppose they can get pretty bored out there, so maybe it was real. Elliot... I just don't have the words. I hate the way he dresses, I hate the way he talks, I hate the way he is a complete and total asshole, I hate everything about him. Well, except maybe for how nervous and jumpy he looked in the hot seat during The Bait. It is clear the other guys don't like him, especially Keith.
  11. Carly didn't have to tell Franco about Sonny killing AJ, but she did. The more people who know a secret, the less chance it will stay one. Murder threats are par for the course when you hang out with murderers. No sympathy from me. Oh, I totally agree - no sympathy! Didn't mean to suggest otherwise. I just hate the ridiculous nonsensical hypocrisy of it all. This made me so mad that I forgot all about it. Yeah, her whole "I used to be selfish and mean but then I had kids and now I'm wonderful" speech was not at all based in reality/ history. When, exactly, did Carly become better? When she lied to her son about his adoptive dad killing his bio dad in cold blood after promising not to? And that's just one of the most recent examples. Ridiculous. Maxie has always been ditzy, but I always thought of her as having a pretty good read on people. She usually made some crazy plllaaaan in response to what she what she picked up on, or acted impulsively, but I never thought her a fool.
  12. Agreed. And what was up with his makeup? He had no skin tone! His lips and cheeks and eyelids and every inch of his face was all that weird pancake makeup color, with no shadows or hues or even pinkish lips. So weird. And not at all attractive - more like a seriously creepy, poorly-made doll. I know I complain about Sonny a lot, but he is just so exasperating, and everyone else becomes that much more annoying when he's around. I almost punched my television while watching that crap today. Carly said something like "Sonny wants to kill you because you hurt his son! And because [some other reason]!! Oh, and maybe a little bit because you know a secret that could bring him down." Surely she doesn't believe that. The ONLY reason Sonny wants to kill Franco is to shut him up - Sonny himself said so 2 minutes before. After all, if hurting Michael was a reason to kill someone, Sonny would need to shoot himself (although that would require Sonny getting his hands dirty...). God, I hate him so much. And when Franco is being a smartass and mouthing off to Sonny, I find myself hating Franco just a little bit less. And, for pete's sake - how in the world does Carly defend anyone who is hellbent on killing the man she loves? Even with her history with Sonny, shouldn't that really piss her off? Carly's no doormat, and I hate seeing her beg Sonny for anything, especially after Sonny hurt Michael by killing AJ!! Okay, I'll shut about Sonny. For now. :-) I'm sort of getting tired of Levi's schtick with Maxie working. I was willing to believe that she would believe him and follow him for a bit, after how messed up she was (and after how badly she messed up), but it's really gotten ridiculous. Time for her to get a damned clue.
  13. For a minute there, I was really excited about Ava and her mom getting the USB drive and ending this ridiculous hostage situation. Should have known that Sonny would win out again, with an assist from Stupid Fucking Olivia. (Pardon my language, but Olivia brings out the worst in me.) I cannot stand this whole Sonny/ Ava storyline. "You lost phone privileges"???? Sonny, she is an adult. Bad enough you've locked her in your house under guard, and have promised to kill her as soon as the baby is born; you don't get to ground her as well. I hate this whole story so much, and I can't figure out what the writers are trying to accomplish with it. To me, it's just proving that Sonny is an abusive narcissist, and I can't imagine that is their intention. I don't care about Rafe or whether Patrick kills or saves him. Not at all. I only mildly care about Alice, and that's only because she's been around for so long and I like having long-term characters on the show. The show has not shown me that any of the characters care about Rafe, and so watching people mourn his death (seems inevitable - I'm unspoiled) will not have any emotional impact. Or even be interesting.
  14. What if she accidentally hurts Hope?? And then Wyatt and Liam bond over being furious with Quinn, and worrying about Hope, who will of course have some sort of amnesia and not remember her relationship with either of them, and so they'll both have to start dating her all over again, and we'll be treated to (subjected to) months and months of them trying to out-do each other with wildly escalating elaborate date scenarios. Can someone explain Deacon's mustache to me?
  15. I figured that their digestive systems don't work in a way that lets them absorb pills, but their lungs can absorb smoke. But I didn't think too deeply about it... I was shocked by Alcide dying. I was expecting Sookie to cheat on him with Bill and for the show to drag that drama out, although I wasn't looking forward to it. I was *hoping* that he and Sookie would stay together, because I hate Bill, and I really really hate Sookie & Bill together. So, I was surprised, and I guess a little disappointed.
  16. Zach seems to be unraveling. He hasn't slept, and is now talking to Frankie about blowing up at Devin, losing his shit at Paola, so on and so forth. Said he doesn't even care if it gets him evicted, he can't imagine staying there for another 70 days. But he wants Frankie to win the 500k. Frankie is mostly silent, but occasionally like 'okay, um-um, don't do it until after the veto meeting." I cannot figure out what is happening to Zach, and I'm starting to think Frankie is just playing him, taking in all the info but not really caring.
  17. Andy needs to stop wearing her cop pants so low on her hips. That's all I got out of this episode.
  18. Boy, this show loves to do recent-history flashback montages, doesn't it?? Qrazy Quinn is very entertaining, as is Deacon constantly lurking in that closet or whatever whenever someone comes by. And yes, the fire and smoking cauldron in her "work-live space" are excellent touches. And of course the weapon she's been making is a large-scale sword of the necklace-swords!! That's just fun villainy. I liked Oliver's explanation to Rick and Caroline, and it had the benefit of being consistent with what we've been shown from him and Ally getting to know each other. I sometimes appreciate character consistency on my soaps.
  19. I have no idea. I really can't think of anyone who was mad enough at Patrick or Sabrina to do that, or anyone who would want to kill Emma, or even kill the baby. Fake Luke did threaten Emma to Spencer, but Spencer never ratted him out, right? Maybe Carlos went crazy because Sabrina was having Patrick's baby and decided to take them all out? I just can't come up with one good reason why or how anyone would force a teenager to cause an accident with Patrick/ Sabrina/ Emma. I'm sure it's supposed to be a "major shocker", but I find that there is so little story there that I'm not even all that interested. And really, causing a car wreck is not exactly the most surefire way to kill someone. I thought Nathan said he was too embarrassed to call anyone, and I guess that includes Mac. But still, if they're still handcuffed in the morning, I'm call bullshit.
  20. I liked today's show, for the most part. I like Britt with Nik, and so it's easy for me to forgive her using Spencer a little. To me, it's not like she's using him in a way that really hurts him, just getting him to help her accomplish something they both want. Ideal? No, but I'm okay with it. And the idea that Rafe might be dead makes me happy. Ooohh- a thought: if Molly ends up in a coma or something, maybe Ric will come out of hiding?
  21. Well, he isn't a legacy of this show, of this alternate reality. And I have no problem with him disappearing completely! Is he? When was the last time we saw him doctor anyone? I mean, we're finally getting scenes in the hospital, but they're all about Rafe! Maddening. I'm never going to warm to Nina, or to the actress that plays her. It's like she's constantly mocking actors who overplay/ chew the scenery, but she..isn't; she's serious. And color me surprised that Nina and Rafe are now blackmailing each other. Who could have ever guessed? (Other than everyone, I mean.) And Dominator - I do think it's a little funny, and I know Morgan basically met her when she broke his arm, but didn't Michael grow up calling her Alice? Why would "Dominator" be the name he calls out when he sees her on the floor? I kind of liked the Nathan/ Maxie conversation today. Some of Nathan's best work to date, I thought. And they're playing off each other pretty well.
  22. Well, to be fair, Chicago Hope and ER did most of these years (decades??) ago. Hell, I'm pretty sure St. Elsewhere had a hostage situation. I know this show is ridiculous, but I'm kind of enjoying it. Good summer fair, I think.
  23. The Maxie/ Levi relationship is driving me absolutely nuts too. But in a way, it's almost believable. Maxie met him at a time when she had really firebombed her life and was feeling really down on herself. I can see how someone in that situation would lose all trust in their her instincts, and let herself be guided by someone else (although 'guided' is too mild a word!). Especially when that someone seems so intent on making Maxie what he wants her to be and ignoring her as an actual person. I think Maxie is having flashes of this not being right, but doesn't trust herself enough to follow her gut. It's like she's put so much hope in Levi being good for her, and her being this "good" person, that she's blocking out any realization that something is off. And something is clearly off. His whole "Well, Maxie wants to do..." and "Maxie thinks..." is so clearly manipulative and skeezy. But she's too insecure at this point to say, "No, what Maxie *really* thinks is..." Nathan should keep her handcuffed to him for a week or two, let her get her fiery spirit back. Because even though Maxie has been a train wreck over the years, she has never been a pushover like this. Maybe Rafe is going to get sent to rehab and we'll never have to see him again? I dream a dream... I really need the AJ reveal to happen soon. I cannot take many more of these conversations about why it's SOOOOO important that no one tell Michael. Carly's loyalty to Sonny over her beloved son doesn't make any sense, especially because Carly knows how much AJ's murder hurt Michael. So, Sonny really hurt Michael by taking one father away, and Carly defends and protects him to the end. But if Franco tells Michael the truth, causing him to be mad at his other dad, Carly will hate him forever. It's just.. stupid. And not consistent, character-wise (I know, I know - remember what show I'm watching, right??). And the whole Sonny/ Ava ridiculous situation just got twice as stupid with bringing Delia in. Are they making a woman being held hostage under a constant threat of certain death in to a comedy routine now? Klassy.
  24. I cannot even imagine how this could have worked. Hilarious!
