  1. Reading this totally cracked me up. I guess I sometimes forget how wonky soap opera time is - it hadn't occurred to me that in real time AJ languished in the hospital for over a month.
  2. I know they're all thrilled and surprised to see Ridge, but I agree that it makes no sense that not one person has asked "Where have you been??" Hell, no one has even asked if he's okay. And with the way he's acting, that needs to be question number one. I'm so glad to finally see Deacon - Sean Kanan is why I decided to start watching this show, and so far I am not disappointed.
  3. Totally agree. And I think he is - I also heard him say "Jax" on the phone at the end of today's episode, and I got hopeful. But that hope will probably be dashed, because it's GH and I'm not allowed to have anything nice.
  4. lillybee, this is exactly what I thought during his whole stupid rant at Julian in the park. I'm so tired of trying to keep up with all the inconsistencies and hypocritical BS that Sonny spews. Are we supposed to agree with him? Or do the show runners want us to think he's full of crap and a total douche? Forgive me, for I know what I say, but I think I liked Kiki a little today. Her mother is lying to her, and for the most ridiculous reason ever. Why not just say "Sonny said he would kill me if I left"? Forget it - we've discussed the stupidity of this particular storyline already, and it's never going to make sense to me why Ava is going along with this imprisonment plan. I just need to let it go. Kiki yelling about Ava sleeping with Sonny didn't really bother me too much, mostly because it seems like Morgan is over the whole Kiki/ Michael thing, I guess. Not that that really makes any sense.
  5. My Sonny hate grows each and every day, which is remarkable because I already hated him so so much. But this "what the hell happened to my brother?" crap is over the top, even for him. He doesn't care. Didn't he threaten Ric just the other day, for pete's sake? It's not like Sonny believed that Ric was innocent. I know that the writers ignore or re-write history all the damn time, but can they not even remember wrote they wrote 2 days ago? I wasn't crazy about Nathan baiting Levi, only because I want Nathan to be the clear and unequivocal good guy in this ridiculous triangle so that Maxie will get rid of Levi as soon as possible. Nathan picking a fight, or telling Levi that Maxie ate the ribs, will only make Maxie less likely to trust Nathan. I guess that's how we manufacture conflict, though... Someone needs to tell Ron that a drug addiction storyline is much more interesting when we get to *see* the person start using and then spiral. It's not that interesting when we don't even know he's using until after he's already killed a baby (or screwed up a surgery or whatever it was Patrick did during his 2-episode addiction).
  6. It looked to me like 2 out of the 3 main buildings were on fire, so I assumed that she did not burn the building where the women & children were sleeping. I think she gladly would have killed the abusive midwife lady, but not the others - Helena is a true nut job, but she's relatively consistent in her nuttiness, and protecting children seems to be one of her big things. So even though we didn't see the cut scene of them escaping, I figured that Helena hadn't left them to burn to death. I adored Donnie this episode. I'm really believing his character development, with the anger at finding out he had been lied to about the monitoring, and the shock about killing Leekie, and the being impressed with how "get it done" Alison is, and the little bit of swagger in his step after he took that pic of Vic & the cop. I mean, I don't believe it as in any of this is real or even possible in the non-tv world, but I believe it within the show. The actor has done a really good job in these last few eps, I think. I thought Helena "inseminated" that guy through his urethra, but I suppose through the rectum is a possibility as well. Either way, ouch. He said there were 11 of them, when he was threatening Vic. So... Sarah, Beth, Cosima, Helena, Alison, the dead redhead, Tony (did Alison even know about him?), Rachel, Jennifer, and ... weren't there others that Helena killed? I can't remember which 11 Alison would know about, and I'm assuming that Alison would be Donnie's source. I have no issue with Rachel wanting to have children; being a powerful and independent woman is not undermined by wanting children. I think it's actually an interesting facet to her character - it seems that she has held on to some pretty strong sentimental feelings for her time as a little kid with her "parents", yet has worked very hard to suppress those feelings to achieve what she's been told is her destiny. It's interesting to think about what that might do to a person. I do, however, have an issue with Rachel being a kidnapping nutjub, and I could really do without any more of these "Kira's in jeopardy" story lines. There is so much good story to tell without Kira being kidnapped every season.
  7. Thank you, kassa, for the reminder - I had somehow forgotten all about that charred doll! Good times. Good, good times.
  8. Sonny was at his absolute Sonny-est today, and I almost put my fist through my television watching it. It's not just that the character lacks all self-awareness, it's more that I think the *writers* lack all awareness about Sonny. I am pretty sure that the writers think that Sonny's nonsensical, narcissistic rambling about this mess that he created is actually a reasonable explanation of what he's doing; hell, the writers probably think that Sonny's actions themselves are reasonable. Duke saying "If only your sons knew what you were willing to sacrifice for their sake" was bile-inducing. Sonny is not sacrificing anything! Sonny is protecting himself, covering for his own shitty actions. You know what would actually be Sonny sacrificing for his sons? Telling the fucking truth about Connie's and AJ's deaths, and letting his GROWN ASS sons deal with those realities, without regard for whether they'd be mad at Sonny. Instead, Sonny's whole talk about "sacrifice" was all about how Morgan would tell Michael that Sonny killed AJ, b/c poor Morgan couldn't help himself (don't even get me started on that), and then Michael would be mad at Sonny. Sonny's family would be ruined, and he doesn't want that, and so he frames it all as "protecting" them, but he's actually only protecting himself. God, I hate him. Sonny, the only thing you're sacrificing is the motherfucking truth. You're not "saving" your sons - your lying to and manipulating everyone around you in an attempt to avoid your sons getting mad at you. Two totally different things. And it's playing out like the writers want us to sympathize with Sonny, to think he's doing the right thing, and I just cannot fathom how anyone with even a shaky grasp on sanity could possibly think that. Sonny's whole speech today had me foaming at the mouth. I don't think Liz should have been fired. People take unexpected time off for personal emergencies, even in the healthcare field; it's a real thing that happens. And maybe, just maybe, I'm still al little annoyed at all the handwaving that had to be done in order for Dr. O to be chief of staff. But it was hilarious when Nik said "You can't fire her, I'm on the board." Awesome entitlement, and totally illogical. I really really really really wanted Ric to show himself to Molly, or even Liz, today, so they would know he was alive. It's so cruel to have poor Molly go through this, and really, Anna should know better. We all know that Anna *does* know better, and so her coming up with this idea and talking Ric in to it makes no sense. Yet another example of the writers not knowing these characters, or not caring. Y'all, I think I'm a little mad tonight.
  9. I hate the fake Ric death mostly because it is just so unnecessary, and obviously something these shitty writers came up with because either it's easier, or they are devoid of any original thought, or possibly both. Ric could have been injured and taken to the hospital, where he would be kept under guard and not allowed visitors but still, to the public, under arrest. Or he could have "escaped", with Anna or Nathan's help. Or he could have agreed to stay in jail pending (a not-going-happen) trial, while the cops chased down the real bad guy. Or Diane could have pulled some magical lawyer stuff to get him out on bail. Any of those options would have not only generated real, possibly interesting, story lines, but would not have caused the needless garment-rending by Molly and Liz. Making them mourn for dead Ric when there's no real reason to is just cheap and lazy, and it pisses me off. For god's sake, Ron et al. can take any possibly riveting or captivating story line and turn it in to the most mundane and rehashed pile of steaming crap. It's maddening. And Levi? A) Who thought this character would be interesting in any way? B) Who thought this actor was the one to make the character interesting? So Sabrina was crazy for about an hour? Is that right? Why even bother? I'm cranky, and thinking about this show is not helping my mood!
  10. I find myself liking Suzanne more and more each episode. Sure, she's unstable and maybe unsettling and perhaps a couple sandwiches short of a picnic, but she really does seem to have a good heart. And to be confused. I hate seeing Vee manipulate her the way she is. The actress playing Suzanne is doing an amazing job. Poussey made me sad. In my head, I figured her mom was already gone in one way or another, and that her dad died not too long after the Germany incident, and then she really went off the rails, ending up in Litchfield. Not based on anything, just what went through my head while watching. I don't find her in-prison speaking style to seem out of character, given her backstory. She was an army kid, and she said she moved around a lot - kids like that often develop an ability to blend in to whatever environment they find themselves in, like chameleons. If Poussey was a real person, it would be likely that it wasn't even something she did consciously. So while in prison, she is going to communicate in the same style as the people around her; had she ended up in a prison in the deep south, we would probably be seeing a completely different style of speaking. But, in her conversations with Taystee in the library, the two of them sometimes adopt a different communication style, one they don't seem to use with others in the prison. I may have over-thought it, but I find it all fascinating.
  11. I loved Ric's "Whaaa???" of confusion when Anna said she knew he was innocent. He's really not used to people believing him (with good cause, after all the years of lying and scheming), and his surprise was funny. I am sure that Anna's big plan is to have Ric fake an escape and go on the lam. Just like a real police officer would do if she knew the suspect was innocent! I completely forgot that there was a mystery about who ran Patrick and Sabrina off the road. And I couldn't think of a single person who they can pick to be responsible that would make me care. Then, they showed the Rafe/ Sam scene, and I realized..nope, don't care. Way to keep not only suspenseful, but also interesting, show. This Nina actress is very annoying. The weird speaking style, the even weirder hand and finger gestures, the obvious crazy - everything about her irritates me. And that kiss between Nina and Silas was gag-inducing. Looked like two blind lizards trying to figure out to lick each other's faces.
  12. I watched to the very end, and I have no idea if Carlos showed up. Must have been quite a captivating episode. I was never a Duke fan, but I started to come around a bit during/ after the FonDuke time. However, he has totally lost me again. Working for Sonny alone is enough to make me dislike any character, but Duke's nonsensical bloviating to Anna just wears me out. My dream (other than more Julian's Briefs): Anna tells Ric that she knows he's innocent, but that they're going through with the prosecution as a cover while they try to trap the real boss. Molly, in a quest to prove her father's innocence, goes a little dark and gets sneaky, being the detective that Sam only pretends to be. For some plot-driven reason, Molly gets caught in the crossfire during Sonny's attempt to kill Ric or someone and she is severely injured but not killed. Johnny comes back just to be sure everyone knows that Sonny almost blew up Kristina. Alexis, Kristina (she's not dead!), and Sam all now hate Sonny, in addition to Morgan and Michael already hating him. Dante and Olivia suddenly remember that Sonny shot Dante in the chest, and so they hate him. Meanwhile, Ava is messing with Sonny's meds, and that, combined with everyone hating him, drives him to a pitiful and undramatic death, like he just stops eating or bathing or drinking water and just dies sadly in his bed, all alone. What? I said it was a dream.
  13. bannana, you've just summed up my reaction to about 95% of what happens on this show. OhioSongbird, you're singing my song! I am so glad that Anna already knows the truth about Ric. And, once again, why doesn't Julian just shoot notLuke??
  14. Ava should tell Morgan that Sonny plans to kill her after the baby is born. She doesn't have to tell him that it's because she killed Connie; surely Morgan could be convinced that Sonny wants to kill Ava for any number of other reasons. I don't think Sonny would tell Morgan that Ava killed Connie - I agree with other posters that Sonny has way more to lose if him killing AJ comes out. Sure, Ava might have legal trouble (although I'm guessing there's no proof of it, other than AJ's phone, which in real life would not be admissible), and Morgan might be pissed, but Michael would hate Sonny, and that's a much bigger loss for Sonny. As it stands now, Morgan is already pissed at Ava, so if he gets more pissed, it's not really that big of a deal. Ava telling Morgan about Sonny's murderous intent might actually make Morgan *less* pissed. Ha - look at me, trying to apply logic to what these characters do! I'm totally over Fake Luke and that whole story line. I don't even care who he really is anymore. Why doesn't Julian just shoot him? Problem solved!
  15. dubbel zout, I was actually surprised that Olivia *wasn't* okay with pregnant Ava living there. She's been okay with him doing much worse, even encouraging him to kill Ava. Given her characterization lately, I half expected her to say "Oh, Sonny, that makes perfect sense - of course you'd want to keep a constant eye on her until she has your son/ grandson (b/c we know it's going to be a boy), and then immediately kill her." Speaking of, couldn't Sonny just have her watched 24/7 by live-in bodyguards or something, rather than having her live with him? Although, it would be much hard for him to fall in love with Ava if she didn't live down the hall, so I guess I just answered my own question.
  16. Wait - who is Eric? So confusing! So far, I'm only sure who about a handful of people are, the ones that have been front and center for the last couple of months. I'm inclined to be happy that Hope chose Liam, if she has to choose one of them, but I don't know any of the Liam/ Hope/ Wyatt history. I just know that Wyatt seems really annoying. I wonder if him losing Hope will drive a wedge between him and Quinn, especially since he seems really frustrated that Quinn will not take any responsibility for any wrongdoing with regard to this whole Ridge Is Lost situation.
  17. Thank you for this. I like to think that I pay pretty close attention, but I guess I got too caught up in some of the other story lines - all through this episode, I kept wondering "Why in the hell does Mance care so much about Castle Black, and why now?" I could not, for the life of me, figure out why all the windings were so intent on storming the castle. And I'm still not sure I totally get it - do they want to hold it as a stronghold, after they've destroyed it? Or do they just want to go through it, to get to the North and farther away from the Whitewalkers? Clearly, I have not paid enough attention to this story line... I can't stand Ygritte, never could, and I will not miss her at all. There are so many story lines up in the air that I am really disappointed that the season is almost over. So much more I need to know about!!
  18. The relationship between Alex and Piper is my least favorite part of this show. They just never made sense to me as a couple, and I never felt any chemistry between them at all. Moreover, it makes no sense to me why Piper continues to trust Alex or to listen to her in any way. Did she forget that Alex is the reason she's in prison in the first place? Alex has shown that she is looking out for herself first and foremost, yet stupid ol' Piper just keeps on believing her, and and keeps on getting screwed over. I think it is possible, albeit unlikely, that Piper was transferred without being told why. The various guards along the way may not have known why she was being transferred, and especially because she was in seg, I can believe that no one at the prison told her. But if she was subpoenaed for trial, and she is on record as having an attorney, her attorney should have been notified, and her attorney should have let her know. Either way, it's so scary to imagine being in that position, shuffled around without any idea of what's going on.
  19. Julian is always adorable, in my book. I mean, sure, he's a bad guy, but he is, to my eye, an extremely attractive bad guy, and I remain enamored with Julian's Briefs. I always liked Howarth on OLTL when I watched, and I still think he's a good actor and that he has a certain charisma to him. I just pretend like Franco is a totally new character, and doesn't have any of the murderous/ rapist/ generally crappy guy history. Instead I just go with what I've seen in the last week or two, and I find that I can kind of enjoy him. Now that I think about it, I do that with a lot of characters on this show. I guess that otherwise, there's no way I could keep watching. So I guess Ron and I have something in common - we both completely ignore history and any true characterization so that we can get through the day to day. Not sure that I'm proud of that.
  20. Huge Danny made me happy today. He's one of the best actors on this show. I get that Nina has been in a coma for 20 years and still trying to feel her way around a changed world, but is she also maybe a little slow in the head?
  21. Ava telling Carly she was going to be a grandma was spectacular. As was her calling out Carly about really being mad that Ava slept with Sonny. I enjoyed that entire conversation very much. Nina is already driving me crazy. She's been in a coma for, what, 20 years or so? And it doesn't even occur to her that Silas might have moved on, or at the very least might not be ready to have her move right in and snuggle up next to him in bed? Is she a crazy and unreasonable person, or is her pushiness and presumptuousness just a plot point to move the Silas/ Sam angst along? Morgan continues to be the highlight. Keep yelling at Sonny, Morgan! I had to pause and laugh for a minute when Sonny said to Ava "You're pregnant with my baby, or my son's baby, it doesn't matter..." Um, Sonny? I think it does matter. A lot. Especially to your son. Probably to the baby too. And maybe even to Ava.
  22. As a new watcher, I didn't think I was invested in any of these characters yet. Yet I find myself really irritated that this is somehow going to all end with Bill being the bad guy. I think Ridge was totally out of line going to break up the wedding, drag Brooke off, etc., especially while poor ribbon-fingered Katie sat at home waiting. But now if Pirate Bill (belated thanks to the poster who pointed out that Bill is indeed a pirate) takes the fall for killing or trying to kill Ridge, it's going to take away all the humor and fun I had with the storyline and, especially, the spectacularly hilarious helicopter scene. I'd much rather see Ridge get pulled from the drink immediately, and let them all scream it out. Also, I think I would like it very much if Liam were featured less prominently. And I find Quinn interesting. A very interesting train wreck.
  23. I've never seen the actress playing Nina before, and, well, I was .. not impressed. The unseen character was already seriously annoying, and this lady is doing nothing to make her more interesting or less irritating. I'm not even invested in Sam & Silas, mostly because Silas bothers me for some reason I can't identify, and I still want this story to just go away. Morgan absolutely killed me today. I really need him to keep his anger and outrage going, and I want Ava to eventually tell him that the reason she can't have an abortion is because Sonny will kill her. Although, what is this deal with Sonny promising to kill her in 9 months? I thought he had some "code" that required him to protect the mothers of his children. Stupid Sonny. I hate him. And I hope they were foreshadowing today about Michael finding out that Sonny killed AJ. I need that. And I *knew* Levi had some interest in the Aztec fortune! Pardon me while I pat myself on the back for a minute, but I called it when he agreed to go to the Nurse's Ball after seeing Felicia's necklace. Of course, catching stuff like that on this poorly written show is not really that much to brag about.
  24. I agree that Ric has been a total asshat over the years, in general and toward Alexis specifically, but I can't say that he's worse than Sonny. In fact, to me, Sonny has done so much worse and is overall such a terrible person that I find myself agreeing with Molly on this one - Alexis defended Sonny for years, even when she knew he was guilty; surely she could help Ric out here. In fact, didn't Alexis used to cite Sonny being Kristina's dad as a reason why she needed to keep Sonny out of jail? Although, to be fair to Alexis, the Julian sex has got to be influencing her judgment. Which I understand.
  25. When I started watching this show a couple of months ago, I had no idea it was a comedy! But they just keep cracking me up. Today, it started with Bill's "Did you come all this way just to make a jerk of yourself?" Who says "make a jerk of yourself"?? Hysterical. And then..the entire helicopter sequence, with Bill in that glorious suit and beard (what is the story with his beard?), giving the slow nod to the pilot (the guy that works for him, I guess); Ridge's face as he realized who the pilot was; the terrible-wonderful special effects of Ridge "falling" in to the water..all of it was just wonderful. But seriously - who does Ridge think he is, basically kidnapping a woman who has expressed her desire to not be kidnapped? And he didn't even have a snazzy suit!
