  1. I thought for sure there would be some twist related to her at the end of the episode, given the episode description ("Ben meets Hannah Carson, who may be more than she appears."). I really interpreted that to mean something beyond just this leap. So I was really disappointed that's all it was (at least as far as we know so far). I know episode descriptions aren't always written by those who actually write the show, but that felt really misleading to me. So I'm really hoping she comes up again at some point.
  2. They had a list up on the broadcast at one point, and they were counting Phoebe Stubblefield from last year. So that makes Amber the 6th. But I believe Tara said she'd be the 4th to do so in an international competition.
  3. There were people in another skating forum watching on Peacock, but I couldn't find it listed anywhere. I saw all of yesterday's replays, today's Rhythm Dance replay, and all the upcoming events, but no Pairs Free Skate for some reason. Maybe I needed to search instead of just going to the listing of figure skating events (maybe it didn't get tagged correctly or something).
  4. I always wonder with this show how far ahead of time they're able to prepare for their creative briefs. Could they do challenges where they're not allowed to prepare ahead? Maybe just give them 30 minutes or whatever to sketch and plan. Other competition shows like this have always done that, and I feel like this show sometimes suffers from lack of spontaneity. I know that would mean they can't create prosthetics or whatever ahead of time, but might be more interesting. Maybe not every challenge, but at least sometimes!
  5. That's definitely how they're writing it, but there were absolutely no hints or foreshadowing until the last few episodes. If this was the plan the whole time, there would have at least been some subtle clues to it back when she chose Lucas and then accepted his proposal. This is the new writers throwing away and ignoring things that happened before in service of their own (bad, IMO) ideas. I know the new writers had nothing to do with anything that happened before they were in charge, but you're a writer. Come up with an idea that doesn't jerk around the viewers and ignore what's already happened on your show. This is lack of creativity, in my mind. Not an effort for more creativity. It's like the whole stupid Moonlighting curse myth. If your show suffers because you got a couple together, that's because you don't know how to write for them after they get together.
  6. But the triangle did end when she chose Lucas on the bridge (in what was a really romantic scene! you don't have a scene like that if it's not going to be endgame, that's just dumb). If they were going to resurrect it a full season later, they should have just had her choose Nathan to begin with (or at least not made a choice at the time). She even accepted Lucas's proposal (in another good scene) with absolutely no indication at the time that she was hesitant or didn't mean it. Terrible writing, and jerks around the viewers and hurts Lucas for no good reason (and now he's basically forced into this governor's race to save the town after getting his heart broken, while nobody else in the town is willing to sacrifice for it). If she breaks off an engagement with Lucas (who did nothing to deserve this) only to turn around and get with Nathan one episode later, that just speaks poorly of Elizabeth. (And, again, terrible writing.)
  7. Sure, doesn't mean the actor's reactions weren't genuine in that moment.
  8. I got a big kick out of watching the other members of the cast in the background of his performance. I'm sure many of their reactions were the genuine reactions of the actors watching Steve Martin as Charles, that also worked for their characters watching Charles finally nail the song.
  9. I thought maybe Loretta was his nanny as a baby, as a parallel of sorts to the play. But that wouldn't mesh with him saying he was supporting his mother and brother when he was a child actor. Unless he was exaggerating or they had a turn of fortune at some point.
  10. I think Ben is absolutely talking to a plate of cookies. Also, the nanny's lullaby was genuinely beautiful.
  11. I think he was referring to the very first time loop he remembered, when she was pregnant. She found out that George had visited Janet.
  12. Had to go back and look because I got very confused (I tend to multitask while watching tv as well and had missed a couple of the captions on screen). So, when they went to Paris, which is where she dumped him, there was a note that said "three months later," which I think was after the initial reset, so October 1 or at least early October. When he shoots Shiv in his apartment, that's right at midnight of the reset point, which is July 1, and Sarah tells him the following morning that she's getting married. So it's been 9 months give or take since they broke up.
  13. Sarah dumping George and getting married so soon is kind of hilarious to me, and I did not feel bad for him. George constantly trying to cover his dumb, selfish tracks is getting kind of old, though. And he continues to be unlikeable to me.
  14. For what it's worth, if it helps anyone else bite the bullet, I was someone who used Followed Topics for a long time. It was how I read new posts for topics I follow that aren't actually shows that appear on my Home page (e.g., topics for sports I follow, topics for a channel, etc.). I was still using it for a bit after it stopped going to new comments, and I was just clicking to the last post and scrolling up. But I finally got fed up with that and investigated streams, which I had never previously used (even though I saw other people mention it). I set up one that only shows topics I follow and named it "New content in Topics I follow". When I click the topic name in a post that shows up there, it takes me to first unread comment in that topic, just like Followed Topics used to. It took me some time to get used to seeing a comment that may be newer than my first unread, but I have mostly trained myself to ignore the comment and just click straight on the Topic title. So for anyone else who was using Followed Topics like I was, Streams is a suitable replacement if you set it up properly.
  15. Yes, same. And now I'm annoyed because since he killed Shiv (and I want Shiv back), he has to succeed in his reset plan.
  16. Some episodes it won't matter, but in other cases you'll definitely be out of the loop. I'm also just someone who never ever jumps in to a show midseries (unless it's a reality show). So I also may not be the best judge!
  17. This is still happening to me. Some of the forums where it was happening regularly are now no longer airing episodes, so it's not happening as much, but it is definitely still happening (just happened on the Married at First Sight forum).
  18. I love Paul Campano so much. I want him to make random cameos at random times multiple times a season, preferably in scenes with Betty. I was ready to be so mad if they killed him off in last week's episode; glad he got himself out of that. MPG is always welcome on my screen.
  19. I actually prefer the relatively muted criticism of the judges these days (and a narrower gap in between their degrees of praise vs. criticism). I'm guessing there is more coaching/feedback that goes on between shows with the vocal coaches and such. There were days of the old AI where it became way too harsh (and sometimes personal), and I felt like often the judges were using their critiques in an effort to sway voting way more blatantly than they do now. And then sometimes we got the dreaded sympathy vote if they totally bashed someone. I also appreciate that this group seems to genuinely like each other, unlike some past judges. But I 100% agree with hating the speed of kicking these people out. I think there are probably a decent amount of winners (or at least top 5-ish contestants) from the early years that would never have gotten that far in this format. Maybe in some cases that would have been preferable, but I think for the most part not so much.
  20. I don't mind judge's saves when we're cutting 10 people all at once, because it's certainly possible that there is a jumble in the 8-14-ish range that could change based on performances on a given night. But it's very clear that in this case they saved two contestants that people just didn't like. It was even pretty clear last week when nobody agreed with their choices. I suspect that there could have been other saves that might not have been kicked off the very next week. Oh well. Probably none of them would have gone to the end anyway.
  21. I stop and watch this one every time I see it. Something about both actors' performances just tickles me.
  22. I'm not sure if it would have changed the standings or not, but I wonder why Isabeau's team hasn't worked on a backup plan if she misses the first combo. Most other skaters will throw a 2nd jump onto a solo jump to somewhat make up for it (I think Bradie did this for example after she missed the first combo, though obviously she had a ton of other errors after that). But she just stuck with her planned content. Isabeau's young so she shouldn't be expected to do this completely on her own volition, but they need to train her for that so it's part of her plan. She's leaving points on the table by not being able to adjust.
  23. I am completely tickled by the time traveling dog. Amazing. Totally didn't see Kat being the 1814 woman coming. I also thought maybe it would end up being Del. I get Elliot feeling like he's finally free to chart his own path without knowing anything ahead. I can also see wanting to take some time to figure out what he really wants, rather than jumping into something with Kat solely because she's finally free. I can see him thinking that's just continuing down the same path he's already on but didn't choose. I'm sure they'll end up together regardless.
  24. I've only watched the first two episodes of this so far, and I'm already super annoyed that they don't reveal who is voted off until the beginning of the next episode. I resorted to watching the first two minutes of the next episode and then picking up from there the next time.
