  1. Wow! So I wasn't just projecting in earlier episodes when I thought Bob B. constantly looked at Bob A. like he wanted to jump his bones!
  2. Honestly, my concern about the show grew when I read references to it being a mess. Now, as a Southerner I find the accent pretty dodgy, but I guess they're trying...sometimes, so, yeah. Overall, I gasped, laughed at some things I probably shouldn't have, and overall really enjoyed the pilot. I don't recall seeing the lead actor in anything before, but he has been a delight.
  3. Bacon grease in the suntan oil. Not bad. I feel like this and the prior episode really started pulling this show together.
  4. I love this show. I've binged up through this episode and am frustrated that silly things like needing sleep and plans with family tomorr-wait, today now, prevent me from going further. I was glad to see other Bob (heh) and his son connect, even though it was the result of Patty screwing Brick over. Patty's humanity she had displayed over the past few episodes made it hit that much harder. Poor Nonnie, that was another raw moment. I do like how they're exploring her potentially being attracted to people for what they are.
  5. The dumbing down of Lucifer, mostly eliminating the supernatural elements and ruining Maze's character were just unforgivable. Was there some sort of massive turnover between seasons? This reminds me of the huge downshift in quality during Season 2 of Sleepy Hollow that it never recovered from. I haven't seen any interviews showing the writers even realize how badly they went wrong, so it's hard to get all enthused about any efforts to save it when I don't feel things will get any better.
  6. Well, I loved (most of) the cast, so I'm sad on that point. But I have to echo how downright dreadful this season ended up being. I was never a fan of Chloe, but it got to a point where I couldn't bear to see her face. The whole romance deal with her and Lucifer just went over like a big ball of blah (which also accurately describes Chloe). I'll miss the show I got the first two seasons, but not whatever this third one turned into.
  7. I'm sure that comforted her victims as she burned her initials into their flesh.
  8. No, it' because he never dresses up, doesn't put on airs, lets himself be seen looking frumpy and sweaty, and only seems to own sweats and t-shirts. I appreciate the assumption, though.
  9. I like Glenn. I love that someone so, er, unorthodox-looking as a party planner pulls off such lovely settings.
  10. Affleck really pissed me off. It's not like he's been doing this for years, this is only his second full movie as Batman, and he's already phoning it in. As bad as Suicide Squad was, at least everyone committed and did the best they could (except Cara Delawhatever, I don't know what she was doing). I like Ezra Miller, but his Barry Allen irritated me most of the time he was on-screen. I did kind of like his interaction with Victor/Cyborg, so if they do end up doing a Flash movie I hope they include him. They seemed to have an actual conversation vs Barry waiting to deliver his joke. Speaking of, I feel like there was a much more interesting plot with Victor that was aborted or cut, I don't know. Nothing really came of the fact that he was built from the Mother Boxes and might be a double-agent or whatever. Gal was fine as Wonder Woman. I'm still not sure I'm sold on an Aquaman movie, Jason Momoa was just okay for me. Once they settled on a narrative, it was better, but still not great.
  11. I don't like Teresa much, but this was so unnecessary yet so hilarious. She does provide me with inappropriate laughs. In her blog this week Siggy actually says that Teresa DID apologize the same night as the cake throwing. I think that if Siggy hadn't started in on the insults that night, things would have worked out differently. Those insults pushed them into a "What? Well fuck her, then!" defensive mode. Speaking of, she dug in just as hard in refusing to apologize for what she said. I can't say I'm on anyone's "side", but I'm the least sympathetic by far to Siggy.
  12. Gordon Thompson gives his take on the reboot.
  13. I actually recorded this five months ago but never got around to watching. Since Irma came along and wiped out my cable (fortunately about the only loss we suffered), I've been dipping into my Tivo reserves and just finished. It's all been said, but I'll say it again, everyone was fantastic. I didn't know how much I needed to see the ladies bonded at the end until it happened. I'm firmly against a Season 2 mainly because there's no way it could make me feel this good. I don't want to see then turn on each other to keep the drama going. I'm good where they left it.
  14. I was one of the few who didn't hate The Hand as villains in Daredevil S2, but that was mainly because that facilitated the return of one of my favorite villains, Nobu. Plus, I'd grown to despise Karen so much that I was willing to support any other relationship Matt was in, even if it was with Elektra, who I'm overall pretty meh on. I felt that The Defenders had both the best and worst of all of the shows, which meant that while it was enjoyable, it never came close to the heights it could have. I mean, the Hand's big plan was...uncovering dragon bones? And why exactly did this mean that New York would end up destroyed? These shows don't have the budget of any of the Avenger team-ups, but it's like they wanted to do this as cheaply as possible, so the grand plan didn't come off as nearly epic enough. The villains spent most of their time talking about what they wanted to do and barely doing anything. What the Defenders did do well is function as the origin story that Danny needed. It didn't connect in Iron Fist because the showrunners did little to showcase where he came from, so him going on about protecting it and being its sworn defender rang hollow, particularly as they wanted to combine it at the same time with the idea of someone breaking free and finding their own destiny. If nothing else, this show moved him to a point where he saw himself as more than just the Iron Fist and focused on protecting people beyond Kun Lan. And if Daredevil S3 consists of Foggy and Karen moaning and whining about Matt some more, I might give up on it. Karen's already intolerable, but at least Foggy seemed to sort of come around, though he ended up feeling like he got Matt killed. Even so, I just don't want to hear it anymore. They need to either accept that Matt likes to put on a suit and go kick ass or find a new friend. I'm all out of empathy. And to that point, let MATT accept that he likes to put on a suit and kick ass. We also don't need another season of him moping around about that fact. To that end, both Jessica and Luke need to move forward as well. I know Mike Colter isn't the most expressive actor, but he can do more than he's been given. I was glad to see Jessica unveil her sign and appear to be ready to get back to work. And it was good to see them leave off in a good place after all of the crap that went down between them.
  15. Both Marco Polo and Hemlock Grove are already cancelled.
  16. It officially returns July 16th. I will not be back, though I will still peruse the episode threads to see if and when Zach dies. http://deadline.com/2017/05/the-strain-july-premiere-date-fourth-final-season-fx-1202087633/
  17. With regards to how the marriage ended, she has more than him at this point. The worst you can say is that she's self-absorbed, which was never a secret. I will never fault anyone for being done with someone the moment that they steal from them, so I don't care how many dicks she jumped on the day after she filed papers. I'm simply incapable of getting behind any scenario where Shay is a victim in any way other than of his own sense of insecurity and lack of purpose.
  18. When it gets to the point where an addict is draining your emotional and financial well-being, I wholeheartedly advocate bouncing them. I'll never forget an article I read about the two of them before they got married, where he admitted to being jealous of her "fame" and essentially having no life of his own and wanting to ride her success. So it's very hard for me to get anywhere near the "Poor Shay" train. And taking money and disappearing isn't exactly the thing that's going to lend you any credibility.
  19. Well, I'm REALLY late to the party, having only just watched this episode the other night. First off, thank you, show, for highlighting Oliver's good qualities, and why I've stuck by him through the past few years of stagnant character growth. Listening to him lay it all out drives home that he's been through some horrific shit, and manages to not only wake up each morning, but try to help how he can, even if he messes up a lot. I always love how much more intense he seems contrasted with the characters from other shows, and how they all respect him without the benefit of superpowers or enhanced super-suits. I binged all of the episodes up to this point, and even with zipping through it I have to wholeheartedly agree that I'm sick of Cisco's whining about Dante. I can't imagine what watching it week to week was like. The fact is, I didn't care about Dante, and so I don't care that much that he's dead. It's that simple. I hope they move past this, and soon, because I'm just about done with Cisco. Everything else was great, including seeing Thea suit up again, and all of the great character interactions.
  20. I happened to look at the ratings on tvbythenumbers today, and was shocked that this had hit a .5. I personally haven't even started watching this season. I can say that I was disgusted by the drop in the quality of the writing in Season 3 and 4, with the ridiculousness of the nuclear bomb plot last year, as well as them pretty much wasting Neal McDonough, being the final straw. The rot has spread over to the Flash as well. At this point, I'm just refusing to take on any new show that's produced by this same team. I never thought that Supergirl and LoT would be the two shows I'm enjoying the most. Admittedly, I'm only a couple of episodes into each of these seasons, so hopefully they won't get worse as well.
  21. Goddamnit, Eden has managed to do something that I did not think was possible, have me on Kim Richard's side on something. She's so thirsty and obvious that it's physically painful to watch her. Eden has also managed to make Dorit seem less annoying in comparison. PK can still go, though.
  22. I caught this today, and I was underwhelmed, to put it mildly. The biggest problem for me was that none of the rebel characters engaged me at all, save for the pilot who brought them news of the plans in the first place. His story was about the only one that held my attention, when they showed glimpses of it. To escape, be tortured, be dragged into a rebellion, and being a hero before dying, nothing groundbreaking, but the actor sold it. Everyone else I just could not connect with. Jen's mother started it off by pissing me off with her stupid move of approaching a bunch of stormtroopers with one gun. I mean, what exactly did she expect to happen? I personally thought Felicity Jones was horrible in this. She had two facial expressions, one where she stared blankly, and one where she stared blankly with tears welling up in her eyes. I hadn't read any spoilers, but I figured early on that all of the new people would die because there was no mention of them in any subsequent movies, so I figured they were the nameless sacrifices mentioned in A New Hope. The first two-thirds was an absolute snore, literally, I almost dozed off in the middle, but forced myself awake by thinking about the cost of the ticket in the premium theater we went to. Things finally got pretty decent during the final third. Since I had already figured that everyone would die, and the pilot character was already dead by the end, I didn't care at all about all the deaths. So...better than the other prequals, I guess? That's about as much good as I can say about it. Oh, Darth Vadar was awesome, that was about it.
  23. Regarding panty-gate, to me, it didn't seem like Erika was flashing PK, or even sitting with her legs wide open. I don't know, I kind of think he's exaggerating a great deal. Either way, it looks like Dorit is going to keep this going next week, which I'm not look forward to.
  24. I couldn't enjoy it because I almost immediately recognized the case, and had already seen it on another show.
  25. Kyle's sitcom has been ordered to series. http://deadline.com/2016/11/american-woman-series-starring-alicia-silverstone-tv-land-1201850338/
