  1. I think Erin's shoes are cute and much more appropriate with the navy than the white flat shoes. Even Tabby's mom has what appears to be matching heels. The groom looks old enough to be her father. I'm so very sad that her family didn't stop this, or at least slow it down. I was looking at the picture again and I think the girls shoes are shiny, probably silver, which would match their belts or whatever is decorative in the middle of the dresses.
  2. @Milburn Stone It really makes for a great mix of movies, doesn't it? I love trying to figure out how the movies are connected, too.
  3. I love that they're showing the movies in alphabetical order.
  4. I posted this last week in the Duggar small talk forum before we had a Putnam forum in response to some questions about the Putman family. I found the some of the Putman family to be very worrisome. I understand that the father had a traumatic childhood, losing his mother at I believe 8 and going into foster care which he described as hell. He mentioned learning how to love when he wasn't getting any but his version of loving his family, especially his adult children is really off. The only daughter, who is married to a young medical student, needed the family to vote on whether they could leave for two years to live closer than the 90 minute trip he needed to make each way. The husband mentioned he was having trouble keeping alert driving home, saying he might end up in a ditch. I was bothered that he didn't seem to worry about hurting a patient while at work or any other person on the road, but this man also changed his last name to Putman so they'd all have the same last name. The trip they all made in a huge bus to the grocery store screamed look at us. I don't ever want to see them again so TLC is probably signing them to a long term contract.
  5. Arwen seeing your reference to Carmindy makes me miss "What Not to Wear" even more. Carmindy was amazing. The whole show was fun.
  6. Thank you Absolom. I responded to 88Keys over there. I agree so much with everything you posted 88Keys. Just when you think TLC can't find a family more disturbing and less deserving of a show they put this family out there. And there are people who will watch this for whatever reason.
  7. louannems, I so agree with all of this. So many odd things going on with these people. Worrying more about Blair coming downstairs to an empty house than the safety of her husband and the people he will come in contact with in his sleep deprived state. And it's only 90 minutes away for any of them if they want to visit. Blair and her husband were only talking about two years and then they would be open to coming back.
  8. I'm so sorry for your loss BitterApple. It seemed like such an unnecessary risk to take just to keep their grown daughter/sister in the family home, probably only for a few years. Whackadoodles is perfect description.

  10. I know this is a place to vent about the Duggars but Josie has become a running joke. We've seen that she has had seizures and might have other unaddressed health problems. This poor child is the product of two very selfish and proudly uneducated people who went for numbers instead of nurturing the children they have in their care. No one has taken the time to teach this child manners.
  11. Where we live one of the non-denominational churches is Unitarian Universalist. Michelle might need to make calls about it, it's very welcoming to everyone including the LGBT community.
  12. Jordan Baker, thank you! I had so much trouble with Jane Fonda's smoking with her lung problems it was distracting.
  13. Thank you Milburn Stone. That makes so much sense.
  14. Crisopera, I've always been puzzled about June Allyson's popularity compared with someone like Gloria DeHaven. I think she's alright as an actress but just doesn't seem to be talented enough to have become as huge a star as she was.
  15. It doesn't seem frivolous to me, Rinaldo. I think it's interesting. I remember her in so many movies and a lot of tv shows. I enjoyed her in Murder She Wrote as one of the women who frequented Loretta's Beauty Parlor.
  16. I was thinking cheese and/or some sauce you like, annzeepark914. Or maybe breaking it up into a sloppy-joe type thing? I've frozen stuff we didn't love or got tired of and when we need something fast we were happy to have it. PRGAL, you made me laugh but I like your suggestions! Maybe combine the tomatoes and cheese.
  17. I've watched "Suspicion" so many times and it's one of my favorite Joan Fontaine movies. I love Cary Grant, so it's harder to pick a favorite of his, but this is certainly up there showing how good an actor he was. Padma, I'm glad they went with this ending. The alternate is more interesting and plausible but I really did want a happier ending. Does anyone else think Joan Fontaine and Olivia de Havilland resemble each other, or is it just me? I've known they were sisters for many years but I've just started to notice this.
  18. I completely agree, iMonrey and readster. I think it's especially odd when they have avoided mentioning a baby since the end of the third season, unless I missed something. This really came out of the blue.
  19. I miss Robert Osbourne and I hope he is doing well.
  20. Jen and Bill's question and answer sessions are, for me, the most honest and watchable out of all the shows on TLC. They're funny, enlightening, and responsive to the questions asked. When it comes to discipline, I've seen far more children act out from a stern approach then a loving, positive, and warmer manner of correcting. I think Jen and Bill are doing an amazing job. Looking at the older shows when Will and Zoey first came into their family and how far they've both come, I see what a loving and supportive family can do. They are not perfect parents or people. I don't know anyone who is. And everyone makes mistakes parenting, I know I have, and our children are really good and caring people.
  21. You need to have that printed somewhere where it's the first thing you see every day because, Happy, you have done an amazing job with all your family, especially your mama and daddy. I'm so glad your mama is in a good facility with caring people. It's a little more peace of mind. And I believe that love doesn't die when someone passes. I still talk to my mom after 22 years. Not as often as in the beginning, but I still know that love in my life. I hope you have such peace about the people you've looked out for. You are an incredibly loving, kind, wise, and really funny person. Bless the woman who's missing John. And bless you and everyone you love.
  22. Happy Birthday, Barb23! Maryland, right? We have the best crabcakes! I hope your birthday is even better than you've hoped and happy birthday to your sister, too!
  23. Happy, your granddaughter is adorable and that was sooo cute. CindeRELLA really seemed like a sweetheart, too! I'm so glad you're all having a great time!
  24. Happy Anniversary, CherryMalotte! May you have many more years of everything wonderful! And it's true, so many times the best things in life are unexpected!
  25. Fuzzysox, Up is doing a marathon of Bringing Up Bates shows from 10am to 3am. The wedding episode is on twice. Once at 12-1pm, then 10-11pm.
