I haven't seen today's episode but I like the extra. Caroline is wallowing in self-pity, which is actually an appropriate reaction to one's marriage imploding. :-) Liam appears to have short term memory issues though. He was already with Ivy when Hope left and I don't remember her leaving with just a handshake.

Maya's hair was about the best thing in that portrait - the dress, the jewelry, the pose, all were just awful. But then, I thought she looked beautiful in the neutral blouse and skirt she had on the other day. It made her skin glow.

:-) All I can say, is that it explains a lot about some of the posts I've read over the last 4 or 5 months. Clarence. Holy moly, how awesome is he? I'm just sitting alone at the computer, laughing. There may have even been some very unladylike snorting going on too. I wish he would do recaps of the shows I can't quite quit. (Maybe he could do an Arrow/BC recap. Seriously. I would pay to see that.) ETA: This weekend I think I'm going to binge on Clarence recaps. What a fantastic way to get the B&B backstory. Much better than any wiki page entry, where you need to make multi-page diagrams to figure out who is related and who can safely procreate.

I felt a little sorry for her today. It's clear that she thinks she's acquiring a family along with Rick. But people take sides when couples break up and I doubt they will be siding with her over Caroline. Not saying Caroline is a complete victim but Rick and Maya have been pretty nasty to her. So is this the start of the portrait storyline? I'm looking forward to it. Not looking forward to Ridge going to Paris. If he does, I know it's because of TK's schedule but still... can we at least get a goodbye kiss or something?

I see this as Ridge being attracted to his sister-in-law while engaged to someone else. I'm curious why you see Brooke in the middle of it when she wasn't even on the canvas at the time. Are they an endgame OTP and all that? My main (admittedly few) memories of Brooke were endless scenes of her looking vacantly off into space, while stalling on marrying Bill for some reason or another - oh yeah, because she was mad about him hurting Ridge, which I never saw firsthand. And with the occasional flashback of her younger self and Deacon. :-) I remember that I was so disappointed in some of my first B&B episodes, because TK/Ridge would barge into Brooke's house once in a while and say something stupid or obnoxious. And DD/Bill was equally obnoxious and I didn't see chemistry with Brooke and either one of them. Deacon, either, for that matter. (The only Brooke scenes where I saw any flickers at all were with Eric before she left for Milan.) That said, I'm kind of looking forward to Brooke coming back at this point.

Othello and Pam gossiping made me nostalgic for OLTL's RJ and Dorian (master schemers and unlikely friends). The guy playing Othello is no Timothy J Stickney, though. :-) Little scenes like that are the kind most soaps don't do anymore so I'm glad that B&B still does.

I have only seen Ridge fall for Caroline in spite of himself and do his level best not to steal her from his brother. To do what was best for her and make sure she got what she wanted, even if it wasn't him. I get that Ridge is a grade A bastard from what everyone else says about his history but he hasn't treated Caroline that way. Or Rick either,until it was clear that he was all about hurting Caroline. His feelings did hurt his relationship with Katie but she was the mature one and broke it off - Ridge didn't dump her publicly and humiliate her as much as possible at the same time.

Sigh... looks so depressing straight out like that.

From what little I saw of Hope/Liam/Wyatt, they should thank KM for leaving before their writing muscles completely atrophied.

I saw the potential interloper spoiler. That's why I'm worried about them doing a proper Caroline/Ridge romance. It's not making much sense at the moment (how it will come together) but it should be interesting, anyway. The pacing of this show is very uneven. I'm assuming that KKL taking a break and KM leaving left some holes they weren't really prepared for?

Are they trying to back off Ridge/Caroline? I don't mind the awkwardness with them right now but I wish I had more confidence that they were headed for a full blown romance. While I don't care one way or the other when it comes to gratuitous shirtless scenes, I find Carter's disturbing. (And not in a good way, I'm more a fan of toned and trim.) Is the actor a body builder or just overzealous? I like that last spoiler. ETA: Are bathtub scenes taking the place of endless montages now that Hope is off-screen?

I did like Amber when I watched Y&R for a few years awhile back (she had nice chemistry with Jeanne Cooper) and would love to see her and SK in some scenes together. I don't think Deacon was on Y&R the first time I watched it and then later, when he was on and I was watching again, Amber was gone.

I think it would be hard for the show to use him long-term, since the actor is the lead in Shannara. (Along with Manu Bennett, too, unfortunately for us.)

I'm glad I have this forum to give me perspective with the back story because I never saw Caroline as anything other than a nice newlywed who accidentally got too close to her b-i-l. Truly though, I do have a hard time imagining her as the mean girl. Well, except for one scene not so long ago where she was kind of snippy with Maya and I did think it seemed OOC for her, from what little I knew. Which appears to be very little. :-) The character of Maya I'm still not so sure of. There are days that I like her and wouldn't mind rooting for her and then the next, no, not so much. Maybe the problem is that I'm not sure what she sees in Rick.

ETA: The spoiler tag is just speculation on a previous spoiler. I have no idea where they are going with this. :-)

I didn't know they had renamed it. The Nightly Show? Boring... but I did wonder if the original name was going to stick because it's also a short story/movie title.

So what do you all think the all time best episodes are? Top 10, top 20? And links, maybe? :-) The one thing I find unsatisfying about clips from the show (although they can be funny) is that I got the most pleasure from the ebb and flow of an episode, so a collection of clips isn't the best representation of the show for me.

This article also includes the Buckle Canary picture. Every time I see it, it bugs me. Black on black only minimally disguises her thin legs. :-( Normally I don't like commenting on women's body types but sheesh... super heroes/comic book heroes need calf muscles. ETA: There's no doubt that Katie is a very attractive woman and I'm glad she looks healthy in those pictures. I just wish she were a little more muscular in certain spots. :-)

Once in a while I would discuss the LLS with fellow Whovians, but most of the time I just accepted that CF would be there when I needed him, usually on a Friday night after a really crappy week or when I couldn't sleep. It's funny, sometimes after a memorable show, I would check the internets the next morning but usually never saw anyone discussing it. I began to think that I hallucinated some of it. :-)

I need a moratorium on faking your death for a series finale. I get why they do it but enough already. Of course, there really aren't any "caper" type shows left are there? Leverage, Burn Notice, White Collar... any others like them?

I can accept Roy as a little brother but yeah, friend doesn't express the depth of the Oliver/Diggle relationship at all. Lover irks me though, because, well, they aren't. Love maybe, not lover. I think I could have gotten past all the crappy writing so far if they had left Team Arrow intact.
