  1. If you asked me on a Sunday if I felt bad for the players, I'd say yes. If you asked me on a Friday if I felt bad for the players, I'd say no. As neutral as it gets, I suppose. As mentioned, change is inevitable. Not a big fan of it, but I respect it. I'm more annoyed at things to where changing things is a popular decision, but then we're told, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." I think I'm okay with the current version of college football, and cannot wait for the upcoming decision. I do/will miss the tradition of big games like UCLA vs USC and the Game, along with many others that were done away with due to the changing landscape. The money part is tough. Since I'm not getting any of it, I can't be too thrilled about the decision to change College Football. I don't hate it, but I'm not going to care about all the movement within a sport when it does nothing to better my life & well-being. The players weren't forced to play the game, but they do have a right to get more & collect something as they are worth something. Without them, the sport dies. For me, it's all about middle ground; I agree that things should get under control. For instance, I don't think players that are less than average should be transferring all over the country. I think they are also taking a spot for someone else that might want to actually go to school, learn something, acquire a skill, and collect their degree. Maybe TPTB can allow someone to enter the portal, but if they go in more than once and/or nobody "signs" them, they'll have to sit out a year. There is, after all, a reason why you're transferring (more than once) in the first place. Too bad the rivalry games are going to take a hit, but I'm okay with it. Maybe they can meet up in the 12-team playoff, which would be even better to be honest

Based on their off season moves, I would venture to guess that the Los Angeles Lakers put more effort into trying to make America love them. Instead of, you know, put together a winning, championship team, which is what it takes for people to hate them for a valid reason, to be honest.

I thought of stealing whatever it is was the GAGE posted on Twitter, but then I would have been labeled as a fan of New England

I guess I'm going to have to settle for being the cheapest, but I wouldn't spend a penny on a jersey, period. Let alone one for the all star game and ones that sort of look anything but pretty. To each their own, but I'd rather stick with a nice shirt and/or hat that promotes a team or event. Even the colors without the logo is fine for me

Boston is a six-point favorite and I don't know if I'm a complete fan of that number. Especially with Porzingis. I'd probably go moneyline for the East champions if he's there or go with Dallas & the points. While I'd pick Boston more than Dallas for the win, I actually could see either team winning. Dallas has proven everyone wrong, and maybe they're better than advertised. Boston was better than advertised, and they crushed their conference this year. Someone, however, made a Big 12 comparison where they look decent because of the level of competition, so maybe it's not far fetched that Dallas might win out. I imagine Boston has to since their conference shouldn't be worse next year, and I don't think everyone in it will be injured at the same time

Sometimes (at least sometimes) laughing is a good thing. However, it has to be natural, so to best get there, I went to Old Takes Exposed
  7. I can't speak for others, but adding criticism doesn't necessarily mean people are being mean. TBH, a lot people admired the cast, but when criticism was warranted, they voiced their opinions. When things get out of line, that is not cool. So good on Survivor for defending their players. At the end of the day, and IMO, it is possible to be nice & voice your opinions on what you may not have enjoyed from the past season. In a perfect world, kindness only would be decent. While wasn't really possible this season or in the past. If you have to go next level on your frustrations, then the issue isn't the cast
  8. Probably would have been beneficial for me if I respected that thought prior to sticking (or changing) my Wednesday evening plans. And, seacliffsal, we'll see if they actually make a move. Probably might not see anything until 2025, but I wonder if even TPTB thought the past season wasn't that terrific
  9. I think the shocker was the fact that this wasn't resolved early last week after the PGA
  10. On the other end, if I'm on the jury & thought that you crushed the game, either my vote will be the one that prevents a sob story from a perfect win or I'm voting for the eventual winner. The thing is nobody separated themselves this year. While I guess I feel bad for Charlie, I actually thought that Kenzie would win by a larger margin.

Two things I'll hope for tonight: Dallas winning outright or Minnesota winning by at least 7 or 10 points. Especially the former, because I do not want a situation where someone other than Minnesota being responsible for denying Dallas of a 4-game sweep. It's basketball, but I saw what the ultimate outcome was last year when Miami was one win away from the double sweep within the league's conference finals

Just kick them all out. No need for a human making the difference between wins & losses over balls & strikes. After all, it is 2024, and most things are up to date within Planet Earth.

Magog: I'll refrain from a reaction for your post to acknowledge my feelings on it. As it features valuable material, both sad obviously, and informative. Instead, I'll offer a response. Yeah, ESPN will likely have to fill time between mid week and next Thursday (random talk about Boston's record banners). However, I hardly think it'll be easy for Dallas to lose each of their next 4 games, but until proven otherwise, I don't think a sweep is automatic. Same for Boston, but more probable than not. Until proven otherwise, the ECF isn't getting to Friday. Now, onto the tough news: RIP Big Red. In the final year of Pac-12 action along with the rest of college hoops, Bill Walton was missed. Felt like there was emotion there amid his illness. Very good career, college & professional, and a heck of a run in the media.

As mentioned in the past, I do not pay attention to what people do outside of their profession. I don't look for the news, the news finds me. It is fair that people are going to be upset with his victory. I do wonder whether people will double down if he ever battled with Novak Djokovic. I guess happy is not the best word to describe his outcome, so my fault with that. However, it's still a win, and it still counts. Outside of Tennis, he can either go to hell, do better in his decision making, or do nothing to where he isn't a topic for discussion. Finally, shame on the ATP or whomever for allowing him to compete. Given my past on watching the NFL & MLB with athletes that have done worse things playing the game after their wrongdoings, it's not unprecedented to see it in general. Just odd for a pro that some see as a nobody.

While I'm happy for Zverev, it is saddening that in lieu of a great victory for the guy, it's talk on the end of an era. To best emulate Dr. Seuss, the thing is don't be sad that it's pretty much over for Nadal, be happy his run took place.

Well, all Dallas needs to do is "hold serve" at home one last time. Or one more time on Tuesday. It would help if Indiana did something to prevent a possible strut to a title for Boston. IMO, a terrible situation would be for the latter to well, not turn into a reality, and then Dallas risks a ton before probably closing out things next weekend which spots the likely East Champions an additional half week

When the Celtics win their first title in sixteen years next month, what is the feeling that they'll be once again ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers in title count, with the chance of extending that? Though I doubt they'll be super lucky in future years that their conference was more than a joke combined with all of the injuries they've had

If there was ever a year that someone could successfully overcome a 3-0 deficit, this is it
  23. Given the fact that there is precedent for a Survivor finalist to kick out a jury member, I would not be opposed to future seasons where a jury member's participation gets wiped out. When they would actually do that & if it would backfire is unknown (though what's all but known is the show saying no chance for that) Edited to make reference to who I was responding to since millennium's post came out of nowhere, and therefore could no longer reference KaveDweller's post without quoting it
  24. I guess we have to have people starting to vote every day they are in Ponderosa. That way, they can vote for the best player more often than not before their minds change due to a feel good story. Make it cumulative
