I tried to hear you about him in 1996 but the warnings were drowned out by the epic, elite hate from a then 3.5 decade-old team from the Lone Star State

I'm not going to tell St. Louis how to feel but for me I don't (or no longer) have an issue with Stan. The fact is one can appear decent in terms of a human being, especially given the fact that someone named Art Modell existed. Plus, felt like a league move since it's forbidden that the NFL lacks LA presence. As for John Fisher, just ship him to Pluto. Fair enough. Yet Fisher looks decent when you put him and Modell in the same sentence. On a more positive note, great job Philly! On one hand, it's amazing that it's been that long without a division title. On the other hand I don't always remember that things weren't great between their pennant wins

That is a decent bracket! Plus, MLB is the best sport of the three in terms of a best of format IMO. Shouldn't need 7 games in the first of four rounds to decide a winner

Cincinnati will be moving into a new direction as it relates to their manager in 2025
  5. There is one rather significant change in The Rankings that I'll get to in a minute, but no movement within the Top 4 (Texas and Georgia tops in the AP Poll & the Coaches Poll, respectively) and Tennessee is a Top 5 team. The Mizzou fell big despite their outcome. Thinking it through, it's not a shocker that they dropped out of the Top 10 in both rankings. Despite the outcome in the North Carolina game, the ACC isn't that bad. It is still early; Clemson is fine I suppose. They have a better excuse for their lone loss than UNC does. Miami and Louisville are rolling so far. California, an ACC team, ended its undefeated streak on the opposite coast with Florida State ending its winless streak. Pittsburgh is pretty much within the Top 30 with their votes total Top 5 amongst non-ranked teams. Either way, I think the Atlantic Coast Conference might be okay for now in terms of being ranked below a Group of Five winner

Interleague Play was a problem on its own, period. Speaking of which. Still not super-thrilled about the watering down of the All-Star game. As mentioned in the past, it's a shame that players who have played a certain way all year have to switch up their game 3-4 times during the fall classic. So I guess having Interleague play got players prepped for that. I guess it would help to know without looking how many games an AL team plays against the NL, but I would have just down 2 games within each team within a division. Maybe a home and home
  7. While I'm not certain that the keywords "March Madness" was trending within the past hour, one could still locate everything you need to know (or watch) as it relates to a matinee that had North Carolina hosting James Madison. A simple search with those 2 keywords should do the job

Meh, I'm okay with the DH. I was fine with the different rules before the change, but I guess I can respect the argument of not wanting to see pitchers hit. Though the strategy from the NL was unique to see when it came to batting changes on the spot. Earlier in the week, Colin Cowherd once again mentioned how much better Ohtani is over Babe Ruth. This time, he widened the gap, basically saying it's not even close. IIRC, he did mention it 2 years ago. No way I agreed with him then! While I still have to agree to disagree, I might actually respect it somewhat. It's probably an "In The Moment" comment, and while it's impressive what the guy has done, I'm not labeling him as the GOAT without a title. At least he'll finally get to play games in October, but it's no longer correct to put Aaron Rodgers, Joe Montana, & Peyton Manning ahead of Tom Brady, and I agree there. You have to win a title, especially if you're going to rank someone over someone else you were alive to see play the game.
  9. So much for posting about my thoughts of Lorne's (now no longer official) exit after Season 50. Really, it was just thoughts about how the entire cast exited during a show-runner's exit (1980 & 1985), along with a comparison to TPIR following their 35th season, and how the show would die without Bob. Pretty good news to be honest. Although exiting after the 50th season as mentioned would be a great time to bolt, if he's in fairly decent health, I wouldn't be surprised to see him continue, if possible until the end of the decade. That way, it's 50 years as the EP

As far as Ohtani pitching in the future, if the outcome is a complete game with zero base runners and 27 batters at most, then I'll all for it

Clay Holmes next to be DFA?! That guy should've been the first one!
  13. Sorta forgot the show was on tonight. Funny thing is that I remembered the past week but early this week, I forgot that new content starts on Wednesday. Figured that I would since it feels like 09/25 would've been the definitive start date
  14. One key item I left out (that sorta defends the move to swap Georgia & Texas): Ewers exited the game. Good thing the Longhorns' schedule is not brutal, but seeing Manning play wasn't a bad thing TBH
  15. Other than a rather major move that featured Georgia & Texas, not much in terms of the ranking for The AP Poll & Coaches Poll. The same top 12 teams are just that. Ohio State didn't jump due to an idle week, and Penn State dropped for the same reason. BTW, The Nos. 1 & 2 spot flipped in the AP Poll only, not the coaches poll. Probably isn't a super big deal as it's Week 3 in a super-sized College Football season. After consideration, I would've left Georgia alone. Although their escape was to an unranked team, it's a close road win against a conference opponent, whereas Texas won big at home against a team that is so much more inferior to Kentucky
  16. Florida State, a school fresh off of their so-called snub, still hasn't won a game since that moment. First team ranked prematurely in the Top 10 to lose each of their first 3 games to un-ranked teams

There's no excuse for this story, period. Though I'll say that one is usually upset having to go back to the office for work and not the other way around. Not to sound morbid, and sorry if that's the case, if a story like this had occurred in the other 3 major sports, I don't know if the suspect gets out of prison alive. Would not be stunned if it plays out that way. The nature of this hit in a rough way throughout the sports community and outside of it. For me, I'd rather focus more on the Gaudreau Family and less on a guy nobody knew existed this time about a month ago. Totally robbed the fans of what was next for Johnny Gaudreau and his journey in and out of the NHL.

Naturally would come full circle for Ross and TB12 if it happened. No shocker from me if he played for Miami while calling games for FOX coupled with Vegas ownership

To be honest, I didn't even know he got injured. Even though I tuned out of the game with Buffalo's rout a done deal, I still had it on. Though despite the TV being on mute, I don't know how I missed it. I found out reading about it; I thought it was a joke at first (can't remember this minute where I saw it), going to ESPN dot com, it was mentioned there. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see a happy ending for Tua, no thanks to that contract, and the fact that the owner is who he is

I've often wondered what life on Planet Earth would be like if Oscar the Grouch showed up on television outside of a damn trash can. Anyway at least the family will have some support back home for their game one week from Sunday.

Meh. You'll be fine. Cleveland swept all of the awards a season ago. They got all the gold so they say. Can't go lower than Sunday against Dallas

I don't understand why they needed to CHANGE the damn kickoff to be honest. There are an infinite number of things the league could've done to stay modern. While it's here to stay for 2024, I guess I can have the optimism they'll change it back to what they were doing in 2010 and before.

Probably not yet. I think after this year, the financial burden Cleveland chose to put themselves in will be done away with.
  24. To be honest, I think they should just do away with returning champions. Even better: they should emulate the daytime syndicated Match Game format. To be more specific: Have the same two families battle twice, and then start with two new families regardless of a 2 game sweep or a split. BTW, I think the new season starts today if it hasn't started already. One thing to note is that there is a new show-runner. The good news is that it is unprecedented in a positive way. The not so good news (but not bad news) is that it's not a super big deal unless changes made are noteworthy. It's not going to matter in the long run if it's business as usual on a typical day
