IIRC, everyone that's part of the USA Olympic team (not just basketball players) were thrilled that James got the nod. For me, regardless of whatever, that is a great thing. Unlike the NBA (TV contract to be specific), someone actually made a decision that makes sense

100% twoods. Plus, his dad was in attendance this time! Until proven otherwise, he's not going to pass Jack or Tiger. However, if there's a case to be made for him to do so, it's the fact that both were around their mid-40s when they won their last major titles. Xander has about 40-50 opportunities. 30% is a tough ask, but even with 3 dozen majors before the age that starts with a 4 hits, there are tons of chances to get to the totals that match guys like Faldo, Player, Lefty, Brooks, Watson, and Arnold Palmer. Finally, he is a gold medalist in the sport. With Schauffele winning on Sunday, the sport gets its first American sweep of the majors in 2 years and twice as many decades. On a random but accurate note, McIlroy won both of the same events exactly a decade ago, which followed a guy that won his second Masters 2 years after his first, also occurring this year

I'll pump the brakes in terms of [Xander > Scottie] though the 2024 Champion Golfer of the Year having the same # of majors as the World No. One + an Olympic Gold medal leads to a conversation. Albeit a very brief one!

Probably the toughest Open to forecast following Lowry's tumble. Pretty much the top 9 have a shot, but if anyone after that performs as well as Lawrence did, we should have a dark horse winner outright. The weather on Sunday is not expected to be great for the latter group

Ten years ago, McIlroy was the man. Crushed it seemingly all the time. Won The Open in 2014, then I believe won Bridgestone, and then the PGA the very next week. Second PGA Championship in 3 years, second major win in a row, and second win in as many weeks. It was a matter of when, and not if, he'd best the Bear. Not the other guy. After all, 4 major titles are impressive. What's at least less than impressive? Four major titles during the 10-year anniversary of when Rory dominated the sport. That last win is next month, and too bad I'm not even at the weekend of the last chance before the guy has to wait until 2025 or never to win again. At least the chance of Scottie giving away another FedEx cup and Rory taking another FedEx cup is on the table. To be fair, though, so is Paris and the gold there

Yeah it sucks. BTW, I thought a couple of teams (or twice as many) played on the Thursday after the All Star festivities. I guess the extra time off is in the collective bargaining agreement. Of course, as has been the tradition for at least the most part, the final professional golf major usually starts on the Thursday after all of the events, which follow the Wimbledon final weekend. However, the action starts and ends super early due to its location. FWIW, the early tee times occur before people turn in on the West (and even East) Coast! Nonetheless, it does suck, especially this year. I'll probably turn in early despite the fact that my weekend is about to start

More On Norman = Rory

I hope it is the second option. Though if it is the former, that would be comical

I think there are some that knew of Paul Skenes' girlfriend, but never heard of Paul Skenes. You'll have a reason to turn on him in a couple of years unless he instead becomes a teammate of a batter he'll pitch against should he allow a baserunner. Or if the NL actually don't pull him extremely faster than Shelton did on Thursday. Meanwhile, I'll have a reason to do something else after his night comes to an end
-
In my honest opinion, 2 things can be true. Hernandez backdoored throughout the night for the title. Plus, I cannot say anybody else "deserved" to win before him. That's the HRD

I guess signing in front of people can hinder someone, but it's not that difficult to sing

Definitely watching tonight as well. This year's rule, for me, are awesome. That's really compared to what they changed it to about a decade ago. Change for the sake of change, according to me, but as mentioned, I'll have to tune in to decide whether they should have stuck with what they did each of the last 8 HRD

A long time ago, I think I actually did a search with a Kate & Novak keyword or names. Several people might not match the years of the Wimbledon aftermath with the Google images of the Princess and the Joke. Might have had a lot of time on my hands, but regardless of the outcome, it's great that things are better it seems. As for Krejčiková, it's not a matter of hate or love; IMO, it's sort of the thing that she might not be that well-known. TBH, I would have loved to see Jasmine win on Saturday, but hats off to Krejčiková for the victory. That's a title many aren't getting, period. I don't know what's next, but I'm not going to be surprised if her defense is similar to Markéta and her defense

Possibly by throwing up in a next-level way similar to some youngster that had way too much to drink. Or if alcohol wasn't in play a bad reaction to something one had to eat

That sucks (re: Kosar). All the best going forward. Pretty amazing that the first game is 7 weeks from Thursday, and the first game that only counts toward one's health & safety is less than a month away. Probably not much movement toward who's likely going to emerge from the pack and hoist something. Looks like Vegas still trends toward the chalk. So until proven otherwise, it's the Kansas City show featuring San Francisco. KC and the Niners are about 6/1 to be the 59th Super Bowl winners, tied for best odds. That's followed by Baltimore, Detroit, Cincinnati, and Philadelphia. San Francisco is the current clear favorite to repeat as NFC champions. The Lions are next, followed by Philly, Green Bay, Dallas, and Atlanta. By the way, the 49ers, like KC, are slated for a week off after Week 18. I don't know; the NFC West, including Arizona, might be much better. Good enough to knock off the champs or in a failed attempt, allow Detroit or someone else to host throughout. I do hope that the Lions can do so. They were so close to end city, and who knows what could've been. For what it's worth, they would have put a bow on their conference as it relates to representing it in the Big Game. However, if I had to bet, that stat on Goff > Mahomes sort of would've gone by the wayside. So it's Niners, Detroit, Philly, and Atlanta for their division. The Falcons sort of flew by Tampa with that Cousins signing. We'll see how that works out. Chiefs, Baltimore, Houston, and Buffalo for the AFC. Same teams as the past year (similar to 2011-2012). Speaking of which, I would love to see Houston as a top 2 seed. If they hold at home, that gets them to the AFC title game for the first time. I guess I would be fine seeing Kansas City win each of the next 2-3 Super Bowls, but if not, I'd love to see someone knock them off this coming season. That would be great news for Kyle Shanahan, unless the Ravens are the beneficiary

Interleague play watered down the ASG. Thanks for more than nothing, Bud!

With a rematch of last year, and, IMO, the fact that Carlos sorta owns joker, I wonder if the latter will skip the post-game stuff unless he wins. Which, in terms of his chances, also IMO, are worse than better due to Sinner's fall earlier this week. That's based off of my first sentence. I think a joker would have more success over Jannik; I have to double check the head-to-head between him and Alcaraz, but I sorta figured he'd have a de Facto bye when Medvedez won his quarter. Of course, everything I said means nothing had Carlos still won his semi, but in the outcome of the final, did not successfully defend the title

Dear Musetti, You've won everything since the beginning of the month, I believe...so why stop today? Love, Carey

I'm not one to look ahead (actually I am, but to an extent). However, I will say that I'm not only hoping for a decent match, but that both of the finalists don't bow out before the first weekend arrives (and ends) in the aftermath. In "aftermath" I'm referring to the US Open and/or Wimbledon 2025. There appears to be some parity (which is nice), but I would love to see some momentum from winning (or at least getting to the final).
-
Meh. He is who he is. However, he has a point, I think. A little more focused on the outcome of the game itself and less on the other stuff. Still, you have to know that those questions were going to be asked. Answers given by Novak that trend toward the guy being asked a different question is the way to go. For instance, when asked about the crowd reaction, pretend you were asked about your next match or the previous one. Shouldn't take 1-2 minutes but the Media would eventually get the point before your exit
-
I mean, to be honest, winning is winning, and I respect the guy for it. However? Man. It's sports. People are going to hate you, even if you're the nicest person there! It doesn't help that he's given everyone a reason to dislike him. What I find vexatious is the fact that he does actually give a damn. Pretty much many others would not give a damn. In fact, they'd thrive from the heat
-
Same. I don't know what I'd do if Joke vs Vzerez were an actual match. Both would have had to win again on Wednesday I think but I guess I don't have to worry about whether it would've been possible if both players retired for whatever reason in the same match

Yeah, no good if you choke to a choker here

For those utilizing YouTube Television, the Sports Plus add-on is pretty sweet. It has some great content that you can enjoy year round. Not much more FWIW, but you'll just have to remember to cancel in January & then add it back in August As mentioned, no need for DirecTV. It would have to be complementary for me to enjoy that service again. With Scott Hanson taking care of everything, it's a surprise that DirecTV still exists!

To be honest, on a scale of ONE to TEN, I'll go with 25 for Novak winning. The reasoning is purely simple: I have to choose between Joke OR Zverev. I'm sorry but not sorry, but I will never bet my life on Alexander winning before doing the same for Djokovic. Other than that, everyone else winning is good for me, especially Carlos and/or Sinner. Too bad the women's side took a hit for the most part, but whoever wins there earned it, I think
