Agreed on both counts. I also thought her hair would have benefitted from being brushed. -

I was glad the guy whose name escapes me won the pizza competition last night. The other guy was okay, too, but he could not pronounce "chipotle" and that gets on my last nerve. -
Settlers of Catan is a really good game that does not need religiosity superimposed on it, IMHO (it seems the Settlers of Canaan version uses the tribes of Israel or somesuch nonsense). But these peoples' beliefs are so fragile they cannot risk anything that is not CONSPICUOUSLY. RELIGIOUS. and "MODEST." Idiots. And I agree, there are tons of games they could play that would not be too "worldly" but god forbid they risk giving up their special snowflake status.

A question occurred to me this morning. Do the Duggars play any board or card games or do they have some stupid superstition against that? I don't recall ever seeing games or puzzles. It must be deadly dull growing up in that house with no books, no games, no music, few toys. No wonder the kids run feral--they're probably bored to tears.

The couple in Lake Tahoe did not even come across as liking each other very much. I know the show makes people play up their differences but these two just seemed kind of stupid with their wildly disparate wish lists.

S07.E05: A New Bundle of Joy/S07.E06: Joy Gives Birth

And WTH was up with those "enchiladas" that were wrapped like underfed burritos in flour tortillas and had some abomination of a white sauce on them? -
How about Kia's graveyard-themed room? She was just awful. Not hay-glued-to-your-walls, sledgehammer-your-original-Craftsman-mantle, put-broken-glass-shards-in-your-fireplace-screen horrible but still not good. I agree--I never liked Doug. I saw a repeat of his "prisoner of love" room this weekend. It just seemed like he tried to get attention so hard and never cared what the homeowners wanted.

He was like a black hole for charisma.

The Lonely Js Club: James, Jackson & Johannah

I was thinking about the Duggars today (really need to get a life, I know) and how dreadful it would be if any of their children were intellectually gifted. (Posting this thought in this thread because we can already tell the married ones are not the brightest bulbs.) I cannot imagine how bored you would get in this family and this cult of patriarchy and fear if you had any native intelligence. If you have to live like this, I suppose it might be better for you if you were too dim and scared to recognize you were being stultified. At least then you might be less miserable. -
Season Four Talk: Spring Baking Championship

I think Jessica should have gone home for damaging two of her competitors' work. I haven't liked her from the beginning and she seems incompetent. And the stupid hairstyle doesn't help. I agree about Nancy Fuller. Can you imagine if a male judge had reached over and pinched a female judge as she did to Duff? That behaviour should not be tolerated.- 238 replies

All I see when I look at her is a loudmouth skeleton covered with ugly tattoos. No thanks.

Oh, thanks! I was totally blanking on why I should know him. -

Is she the one with the blue hair? If so, I agree completely. I can't recall her name either but she had a stupid top-of-the-head bun, screwed up her egg ratio when she doubled her recipe, and at one point said something like, "oh, I just don't know how to fix this!" Buh-bye Good idea to mix it with citrus! I am one of those people who is genetically predisposed to find that cilantro ruins anything it touches (though I actually do understand the flavor profile and why it makes sense) so I was too busy metaphorically wiping off my tongue at the thought of a cilantro cake. -

My DVR cut off half-way through last night's episode and I don't see it on the schedule to re-run in the next couple of weeks. Can someone please tell me who won? As long as it wasn't that horrid Chicago chef who made the "Eye-talian" beef. -
That finale was nearly unwatchable. I used to enjoy this show. Not sure if it is the casting, the editing, the annoying person Anne has become, or something else, but it is just bad now. The finale episode felt about three hours long. And if rumors are true and Robert Irvine returns next season, I'm out. Edited to add that I think part of the problem is the insistence on making all the contestants into CHARACTERS rather than letting them just be people.

I thought the same thing. Then I thought, "eh, Florida." Here, a room has to have two means of egress and also a closet to be called a bedroom. Perhaps not everywhere?
-
Right? Even the two-hour arrivals show spent tons of time with Giuliana and whoever-else at someplace other than the red carpet and not much time with the arrivals. Terrible coverage.

I don't want to harsh anyone's mellow and if you are having a good time, please ignore me. (This would have been dismissed as boards-on-boards at TwoP so I was hesitant to post it.) I have enjoyed this thread because it was so mutually supportive (with an overtone of snark) but since it has devolved into fantasy weddings between posters, I scroll quickly or just switch to the bottom of the page instantly to mark it as read. I get that it was amusing at first but perhaps we can think of getting back to the original focus of the forum? (Please feel free to ignore me if you disagree.)

And it needs to be someone with some gravitas (who is not a pervert). I like these three but they used to talk about how they felt like the grown-ups were gone when they were the only hosts and I feel like that is kind of happening. Carla is getting worse, in particular. She has always been easily distracted and not always good about remembering to communicate and she is having a harder time always keeping on track lately (don't get me wrong, I like her, I just think the fact that she is a spazz sometimes is too much front and center). I vote for Antonia Lafaso or Ming Tsai.

Hee--I thought the exact thing. "Beer, that sounds good..."

S07.E01: In Love in Switzerland/S07.E02 The Vuolos Buy A House

We have professionally installed tile backsplashes in three rooms, all grouted. I don't see how you could do it otherwise. Add me to the list of those who hates the multi-colored cabinets and was glad they painted them all the same. I thought the kitchen looked okay but did not really care for the warm-toned countertop with the stark white cabinets. They looked like they had wandered in from two different kitchens, which they basically did. -

A grudging point in her defense: the French or German for sparkling water does translate to "water with gas" so she may have gotten that from an English menu translation. I was impressed that she actually has good pitch when she was yodelling. The Duggars are such dreadful tormentors of music that I was surprised Joy actually had some musicality. Egads, I said two nice things about Joy. I agree with all of you that Austin is not into her. He gives off a really controlling vibe to me. She seems to be brushing it off now but I'm not sure that will last. And who doesn't know what fondue is? -
Good grief, the Duggars, and Joy/ Austin in particular, are quintessential ugly Americans. Though Joy does have good pitch, as evidenced by the yodelling scene. (Did not see an episode thread yet so I put this here.)

This 1000 times. I cannot stand to look at his pin-headed reptilian (no offense to reptiles) ugliness and he never has anything constructive to add. Just an awful excuse for a human and a terrible judge, IMHO. And the fact that he continually makes the grammatical error of talking about "them [fill-in-the-blank plural]," as in, "them cheeses."
