  1. I’m genuinely curious, are there treatments for personality disorders? I’m not a psychologist or psychiatrist, but I am a criminal defense attorney and I’ve noticed that the US justice system generally is under the impression that a personality disorder is something that can’t be treated.
  2. Rachel did have that on her sow, but I t’s actually an American Jewish “recipe.” I know about 35 people who regularly have this at summer BBQs. It’s REALLY good.
  3. The shooting of instructor said that the house was abandoned.
  4. I’m interested in this. Please explain with more detail about with whom you are referring to. To clarify, I’m genuinely interested and not trying to debate you.
  5. I’m not a doctor, but I’ve sadly known a lot of people who’ve had cancer and survived, and who’ve not survived, including immediate family members. I’m of two minds about chemo. Literally everyone I’ve known with cancer who chose to do chemo has told me that they’d never do it again, even if it means losing his or her life. At first, I understood this from the perspective of those who were diagnosed when their cancer was stage four and chemo was a way to gain just another year (not to minimize a year of life, but their diagnoses long term wasn’t good regardless). But then my friend who is my age (43) was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer three years ago. She did the chemo (and radiation) and they probably saved her life, but she told me that if it comes back, she will never do chemo again. I was shocked, but it made me think that the chemo side effects were just that horrible that she’d rather be dead than do it again. For her, it wasn’t horrible because of losing her hair or being nauseated, but the actual pain of the OTHER side effects, which she described as excruciating bone pain from a follow up shot a day or so after the chemo and just generally other pain, like to the point where she couldn’t even walk for a few days. At first, I could not comprehend not doing chemo to save her life, but my friend is EXTREMELY rational and logical, so I believe her when she said that it was just that bad. She is married but doesn’t have children (in part because of the cancer), and maybe (hopefully) she’d think differently if she did have kids. So, I don’t know. I get both sides. I can’t imagine not fighting for my life, if it was me. But, I can’t discount the feelings of those who have actually been through it and are emphatic about never doing it again, even if it means dying.
  6. Exactly. Gina has been around since the original show.
  7. You can have my and my husband’s first born child for identifying this, because we’ve been driving ourselves INSANE for the last two hours trying to remember who he is. The Conners IMBD page doesn’t list him. You’re exactly correct. Thank you!!
  8. Thanks for the info about Mona. I had no idea that she’s a pharmacist and I’m happily impressed.
  9. We didn’t really get to know Mona this season at all. For example, I have no idea what her job is or what she likes to do in her own time. I thought she came across as pretty boring with not much of a personality. I know that she’s a vegan, and she lives in a small condo that seemingly has no windows, but that’s about it. What we did learn about Mona made me think that she’s kind of a snob who has grand ideas for how she wants to raise her future kids—summers in Europe so they are cultured, paying someone to home school them. Neither are bad things AT ALL. BUT, to me she came across as an entitled immature high school girl who has big dreams with no idea about the cost of the lifestyle she is demanding.
  10. It was interesting to see Marlo with no makeup (and no bra) when she went to Porsha’s room to get glammed. That’s all I’ve got for this episode.
  11. Trevor seemed like he was in some sort of manic phase. I’m not a doctor, but I have friends who are bipolar and he reminds me of them. I disagree that Liat is Euro trash. Not trying to start an argument, but her name is Israeli/Hebrew. IMO, she seems very scared by whatever mental health issue is currently affecting her husband.
  12. I only read the first book, but I thought the same thing. I even said aloud to my husband who wasn’t really watching, “do the writers not understand how time travel works? Surely all of them have seen Back to the Future!”
  13. He didn’t. His father left him and his mother, and his father was long gone when Tommy’s mom died from cancer when he was pretty young.
  14. So, I bought Shannon’s veggie burgers from QVC. I got the combo pack of three different kinds. They’re not labeled, so I have no idea which one I tried, but it was just okay. Not great, but not terrible. And I generally like most veggie burgers (unless they are quinoa based). I will try another one at some point, but I don’t have high hopes.
  15. I bought the 12 burger combo pack earlier today. My first QVC purchase!
  16. My DVR recorded season two last week and I watched a few of them today. I noticed something that I don’t think I realized before. Tammy’s daughter Megan had a boyfriend named Roman who was a Pit Bull breeder. They go to Vegas for Tammy’s birthday and while there, Megan gets a straight up white supremacist tattoo. It’s an iron cross, which Hitler used as medals for his officers, and it’s widely known as Nazi symbol. When Tammy asked Megan what the tattoo meant, she said it was an iron cross because Roman’s kennel was called Iron Cross Kennels. So Megan basically was dating a white nationalist and got a Nazi tattoo. It didn’t seem that Tammy knew the actual meaning of it and I’m not sure that Megan did either. But still, I found it totally fucked up, and I wonder why a bigger deal wasn’t made of it at the time by viewers or by Andy at the reunion (if there even was a season two reunion, I can’t remember)?
  17. Moreso that Emily was intervening and kept declaring that Shane is sarcastic and people don’t get him. I’m married to someone who is sarcastic to an extreme. But I don’t have to clarify his comments, because if someone is actually sarcastic (or just generally hilarious), there is no need to point it out to others. It’s obvious and having to explain just means that he’s actually not sarcastic or funny. In sum, I agree with you Unrelated to what I quoted, I don’t have any issue with what Kelly wore to the soup kitchen. It was 5:45 a.m. when she and Jolie got out of the car at the place. In my world, I don’t arrive anywhere that early unless I’m getting up for a flight.
  18. So, did anyone else notice that John told Camille while at that bar/house that Natalie’s nails were painted when she was found murdered, and he said that she NEVER would have painted her nails? To me, I took that as a huge clue that someone who sees young girls as something to dress up and “make pretty” is the person who murdered her aka Adora.
  19. Right, yes! I forgot about the scene last week when Alan said that. Although, I have step-parents and both refer to me as their daughter, even though I’m technically not. I also always find it weird to refer to my mom’s husband (whom she married when I was 25) as my step-father, since I was out of the house at the time and married myself, so there was no “fathering” involved in our relationship. But, I’ve come to really love him, so now I’m good with calling him that. (I realize that’s neither here nor there, but I already typed that all out on my phone, so I’m just going with it. Lol).
  20. Gayla (the house keeper) is a POC. But otherwise, yes, I think that you’re correct. Also, someone mentioned on the first page that Adora said that she was a Calhoun and married a Preaker. What Adora actually said is that her mother was a Calhoun and her father was a Preaker. I’m assuming that because she had Camille when she was young and because Camille doesn’t seem to know anything about her father, Adora gave Camille Adora’s last name (at the time) because the father wasn’t in the picture. Sort of like Gilmore Girls. I’m unclear whether Camille and Marion shared the same father, or whether Alan was Marion’s father, though.
  21. Or when David (?) got kicked out of the house in season two after trying to pull a comforter off of a naked Tami (Tammy?).
  22. That was complete garbage. I fast-forwarded over 70% of it. I never thought I’d write this, but I think I’m out.
  23. I read the book years and years ago and I actually don’t remember. But, from the show, it looks like she died from an illness. The IV stand is still in her bedroom. When a child dies from what seems like a long process, I always assume it’s leukemia.
  24. I have only watched the first segment, but that dinosaur museum seemed like it would be scary for a baby, with all of those sounds. (I’m not a parent, so I’m just guessing :)).
  25. I realize that there are WAY bigger issues with this episode in terms of damage done to the kids, but couldn’t Jenelle have switched seats with Jace so that he could actually see the boats from his seat at the restaurant without having to turn around? Of course she chose the seat with the better view.
