I respectfully disagree.... I don't think at all that "we'd all be saying what a dumbass she is". That is a pretty strong statement, when there are many of us that clearly see her as harmless and living a fairly normal life. I also don't see Aubree and Leah being similar at all--that comparison confuses me.

I personally don't see Barb's situation as anything that would make her sympathetic to Farrah. Barb was beaten and treated badly by a man, and had to stay in that situation longer than she wanted to. She didn't choose that. I feel Farrah chose to do everything that she did, and she didn't need to do any of it...she was on a MTV tv show making enough money to make a decent life for her daughter. And also could choose a better career path in general (had the money and time to pursue education).

I think Chelsea and Cole are just being Chelsea and Cole. it is not like we follow around everyone in their daily lives to know if their normal way of being might annoy someone. Honestly I can't pick on them because they have it together--they are happy, Chelsea has a decent life and is a good mother, and she is not Kail, Jenelle, or Leah--so she is doing great in my book!!

I liked this home cook--he seemed organized and ready to compete. I think that is about right--win 3, lose 2-- they still end up with decent money to take home.

All Episodes Talk: Lorelai and Rory and the People They Love
alexa replied to solotrek's topic in Gilmore Girls
I just rewatched this storyline, and I totally forgot about all of this from watching before. Yes, after all he did in his marriage that was awful (yell at Lindsay, stay out at night, not put in any effort), he had no right to blame Rory for anything. Rory wasn't married, and fell for his lie that the marriage was over (stupid as that was). What was Rory supposed to do--stay at home all summer and have an affair while he remains married? I also never understood why Lindsay was a stay at home wife--at that age, why isn't she doing something more productive? Noone needs to cook and clean that much.... it was just odd. -
I agree with not using children... I prefer a more even match up (even though the child is good), as the intention is to see if a home cook can hold up to a chef. I think it also puts the chefs in an awkward position.

That is the thing with him. Putting aside how he treated Juelia (because I could care less about that situation), I never understood why he was so mean and rude to everyone when he came in. Even if he was waiting for Sam to come, why did he act so awkward about being around people when he had no issues making friends during his B'ette season? I think most of the guys liked him, so I just don't get what he was doing or why he was acting like such an idiot.

I was so relieved, and wanted anyone other than the annoying women to win. They really did think highly of themselves. I think their kitchen was the main thing that added $ to their home, otherwise, I think the rest of their rooms were lacking compared to some of the other teams. And that whale room stood out as an eyesore every time. I really think that did not help them, and I don't see why they couldn't admit it looked awful. As for the decks/furniture, I don't see not putting the table as making the house worth less--a table can be bought/added at any time. It isn't like a building element that someone has to manually do to the home. And we all know that Sarah and Nick had limited money, so they just didn't have much to work with and did well with what they had.

I agree. If I hear one more person saying "Juelia", I will scream. It has gotten to be too much about how all they talk about is her. She is boring and only average attractiveness (nothing wrong with that...just saying I don't get the fuss). I find it humorous how Joe doesn't see what he is going with Samantha (going on and on about how things are different all of the sudden) is any different than what Juelia was doing with him. Granted Joe and Sam had more of a connection, but now he gets to be on the other end of things. And Samantha should know she had a good edit on the Bachelor, and a terrible one here... this will only get her negative attention for future venues.

I agree she shouldn't have been picked. The show is no fun when the home cook doesn't have a chance to win, and though she has decent skills for a 12 year old it is understandable why her dishes didn't hold up to the experts.
-
Don't you think part of that is because she just arrived and hadn't gotten involved in all of the drama and competition yet? I think part of the reason they all start to act nuts is because of the extended time together, and the competition of who is available to date, etc, etc.

I am a very minimalist watcher of this show, and even I hate the "cliffhangers", if you want to call them that (given the lack of actual interesting television to be offered imho). It doesn't entice me to watch more, as it only tells me they have this garbage on for 3 hours a week, and they can't end the 3 hours with a rose ceremony? They have to drag it out until the following week? I just don't get what they are trying to prove here, by thinking they are encouraging viewers to tune in by dragging everything out? It is not working.
-
Those ladies annoy me to no end--if they win I will be an unhappy viewer. That whale bed still looks awful....what do they see in it? I do like that the judges praised the other teams for making fixes, and really laid into the women for not doing much. I agree with the above, as to why they wouldn't have paid someone to help paint and then they could have done some other more obvious fixups to add more value to the house (such as remove the awful whale bed, etc).

That was just gross. I happened to turn to the show right when Joe and Samantha were getting it on and I was so apalled and grossed out. That pretty much removes any desire I had to see any more of this show.

I do agree with you. I think it just doesn't make for very good tv for me personally to listen to Trix go on and on. I think with Emily I can tolerate it because she is a main character and does actually bring some humor and other attributes to the show. Trix is just a b****, and nothing more. She doesn't add anything to my screen time, so to speak. -
On last night's episode, I am guessing the law student guy just didn't have much time to prepare for this show, as his biggest issue seemed to be working in the amount of time available. Otherwise I think he had a good chance of winning most of the challenges because of his style of cooking.

I like this thread because I like Luke and Lorelai. In many ways I find their relationship better than most because it involves a history, friendship, the way they try to understand each other but accept each others differences, and just those day to day things they do (even way before the relationship took off). I am all for romance and passion, but I think for the long term some of the best relationships are the ones where you are partners, best friends, and simply there for each other. That all said, I know they have many moments that are not ideal based on writing issues and storylines, so I am speaking more about the buildup of the relationship and what they offer each other in general.

In speaking of Gran and Mrs Kim, although Mrs. Kim had her ideas and rules, she was a softie with good intentions inside. Her actions were based on her culture and protecting Lane. Gran on the other hand, I just hate scenes with her. I just watched a season 4 episode where even Richard had to yell at her. I get that she is playing the role she is supposed to play, but I find scenes with her so depressing. Although Emily can be a pain at times, she is not cruel, so I can't feel glad that she is being picked on by the old woman. And I always hate how Richard supports her behavior, and only talks back when he feels insulted, not when his wife is being battered by the woman. Seriously, how is it okay to complain about when dinner at someone's house is going to be served to you, and things like that? -
This show drives me nuts. First of all they are there to date, and get to know people. I hate the premise that people couple off just to stay on the show, and don't give themselves the chance to actually meet other people they might like more. Fleiss has a way to make people competitive over anything, and totally lose their sensibility. That said, I appreciate this season there might be more change ups, and some of them are speaking of getting to know people/keeping their options open. Joe was a mess. Juelia--I agree she should quit leaving her daughter for these shows. Nothing says a good dad like Bachelor and BIP! Anyone with common sense would know they have a much better chance of meeting someone good anywhere else, but here.

I thought her time out thing has been humorous as well. Anytime the kids act like kids, she threatens time out instead of trying to actually find a way to work it out with the kids. I guess she doesn't know time out and discipline is for when it is actually needed? Not just that the child does something that needs a mild correction?
-
This show is so depressing, I don't think I can take anymore. Every week it is the same thing--court sessions, crappy parenting, bad decisions, and I can't help but feel bad for the kids involved. As for the Kail thing, what happened to the days people could ignore their phone or shock of all shocks, actually turn it off for a bit? If you don't want to be bothered, shut it off. I am sure if you turn it on in an hour or two and an emergency came up you can still tend to it, but most likely everything will be fine.

Good Morning America - General Discussion
alexa replied to David T. Cole's topic in Good Morning America
I don't typically watch GMA, but I tuned in for the One Direction concert, which I loved by the way (yes, I am a non-teenager fan!). That said, this news show in general feels a little low rent to me....I don't know if it the graphics and such they use, or what, but I didn't really care for it otherwise. I also didn't find their hosts to be all that compelling or give me a reason to tune in. Just my general feelings, but at least the concert series of the day was good. -
I didn't understand their role in the demo either.... why have them work on so much of the house, and then just set them loose to create potential water leaks all over the finished parts of the houses. They should have had the option to have their contractors do the demo.

Oh, yes, I think their real wedding was elsewhere. They looked like they couldn't get off that beach fast enough! As a sidenote, why do they call this location paradise, when it looks as bad this year as last? It looks like they find the cheapest location possible, and just call it paradise.

Yes, the women's room was awful. There was no actual look of a design in there--just a bunch of awful thrown together.
