  1. In actual history it was all "group hysteria" which is pretty fascinating stuff to read about. And it's why some people are criticizing this (I'd say read the A.V. club review if you want some broad strokes critique; they encompassed all of the complaints I've read elsewhere). And truley, I expected to dislike it based on that very angle. But I found it just the right mixture of crack to work for me. Go figure.
  2. I loved that show so hard. I kept thinking he was like the opposite of Dr. Sandstrom in this on so many levels (his faith, the implication that he uses science in some nefarious way, all of it). In my mind he's David's evil twin, right now. It amuses me greatly. He's totally one of those "elevate crap to watchable" actors so I'm delighted to see him on some quality TV. He had a brief run on Nikita but they sort of ran his character into the ground.
  3. Meh. I like it. It could be better but it could be sooooo much worse (Under the Dumb).
  4. The guy with a crush on Kono is a little creepy and a little charming. Funny combination, that.
  5. I don't think it's anyone on that list (I'm leaning towards Escher at the moment but can't really lay my finger on why). It's funny though; at the end of the season premiere I somehow came away with the idea that Keira shot herself, as it were. Obviously this was cleared up in subsequent episodes but in the moment I was utterly shocked and really intrigued by the idea. ALso amusing, I think of the Keiras as numbered the other way around. The Keira who is still alive is 1.0 to me and the one who got killed is 2.0.
  6. Yeah I missed all of the promos this week so I was clueless. I just think it's funny how needlessly complicated some of the theories I was coming up with during the episode were.
  7. I'm embarrassed at how long it took me to clue in to the fact that the girl was a Grimm. I was guessing all sorts of out there shit (some kind of wesen that doesn't voge but is somehow kryptonite to other wesen, which I guess could be true depending on the origin of Grimms).
  8. The sad thing is that if the intent was dubious initially but ultimately clear consent, it wouldn't have taken much to make to fix it to make that the more universal perception. I can work with the scene on its own merits if the dubious nature is addressed by Cersei and/or Jamie in future episodes, though.
  9. He's the least interesting of the three for me so I could work with that (I don't hate him I just like the girls more). I thought the ladies' confrontation showed a lot of promise for a developing relationship. THe put the crap aside to get shit done when it was warranted.
  10. No matter how jacked up the writing on the show is for them, Claire and Sam singing their first song is just sex.
  11. Realistically, if the general area they've landed in is North America United States area (which I can't remember if they've established but being an American sci fi show, I'm assuming), I'd expect whatever language the 100 year later descendents of the survivors of a nuclear holocaust to be speaking to be something with a fair chunk of English, Spanish, French, and maybe some Amerindian bits and pieces to it. But since, again, American sci fi show, I'm assuming they'll turn out to speak English. Plenty of time for language to adapt so that we wouldn't recognize it, though. I'm just not expecting this show to go that far with the idea. I'd be pleasantly surprised if they did.
  12. I would love to see platonic Thea and Sin developed. I like what we saw of their Roy connected bond and they are in a similar age group. Not that age is one of my strictest thingies for desire to see a friendship explored or anything it just sort of dawned on me that there weren't many years between them.
  13. Weirdly, even though it's obvious, I think Rose McGowan still looks really lovely post surgery. She's on the cusp of going too far but the exaggerated features aren't beyond what can happen in nature, they just don't look like she used to. I wonder if I'd even notice if I weren't a long time fan (Doom Generation is one messed up flick, for the record).
  14. First thing I treid. Yeah that was a bad plan... washed out everything else. Just a poorly lit scene on a lower end lcd screen. It happens.
  15. I noticed Michiel Huisman (Nashville, Game of Thrones) in one of those season trailers up there. He is certainly making the rounds on the genre shows since he left Nashville.
  16. And if it did, might I suggest that cop is probably not the best job for that person?
  17. That's exactly what happened. And the wall didn't seem to have any kind of insulation; the construction appeared very cheap. Which, honestly, I thought was kind of a neat touch. Diner guy owned a restaurant in a really cheap location which means likely not a great neighborhood which more than explained the shotgun.
  18. Of course they have to pick and choose what they study. There's too much potential knowledge out there. If they tried to study all of it, then they really would be trying to claim they know everything.
  19. Ranks right up there with "starving kids in wherever". Give it to them, then.
  20. Everything in the opening scenes was so dark I have exactly zero idea what happened other than Elizabeth and Phillip killing some people when they went to do the truck thing. And was the truck driver dead when they got back to him? I seriously couldn't see a thing.
  21. When they got to negative numbers things could get interesting.
  22. I kind of didn't like the actress playing Bellamy and Octavia's mom. But really dug the backstory.
  23. Cracky and tacky. I'm down. It's funny I'm totally on board with the criticisms that say there's something a little uncomfortable about a show with a premise that basically amounts to "the Puritans didn't kill enough people in the Witch Trials" (I believe that's almost verbatim what the A.V. Club said). But the show went so far over the top that I don't even care. Bring on the crack, I has a popcorn.
  24. Wow. Penny's older than I thought she was. Looking good lady. I knew Susan's age due to obsessive Incredible Hulk love as a very young child.
